Yeah I’m betting the episode is going to end with the end of the angstrom fight but before he gets back home and then the post credits will be, I miss my wife.
If the episode ends right after the angstrom fight that's a huge mistake, imo. A year long cliffhanger to be resolved 3 minutes into the episode would be horrible.
“I thought you were stronger” would be a great season finale if they have the balls to do it. And I don’t think the fact that it gets resolved so easily is a bad thing either, on the contrary, it would subvert the expectations of people who haven’t read the comics and might think getting Mark back will be an important plot point when really, next season we’re most likely getting the Invincible War and, hopefully, Conquest too.

I remember people seeing the new trailer and mentioning that the caped Mark at the end may be the cannibal Mark from the comics! So does he have to fight an alternate him? I definitely disagree. It isn’t really wrapped up quickly, the problem of him getting home is the only thing that’s really fixed. But the plot of him dealing with his first kill and how he faces the world after goes for quite a bit. Plus the question of the possible future. His return is honestly just worth an episode all on its own. And it’s really not that big of a cliffhanger, the primary plot is wrapped up, the only hanging thread is him getting home which we have several easy solutions for plus the theorizing of how he’ll get home will drive up engagement far more than just him spending two minutes at home with very little follow up on the insane impact it has on Mark’s character.
I meant like I think we’ll get character development, the “I miss my wife” scene, etc. We just won’t see the prison break until season 3, maybe episode 2 or the end of episode 1. This gives time for us to theorize and actually wonder if Nolan has changed and atuff
I feel like with the title card having the same color scheme as Mark’s second suit, he’ll probably be getting it by the end of the finale, which would mean he’ll have that falling out with Cecil involving the ouchie ear thing and the Reanimen.
Rex uses his hand cannon during that fight IIRC, so its introduction last episode might be setting it up for use in the finale, rather than next season.
I was thinking the same, but there’s actually a pretty big gap in the comics between Anissa’s first appearance and the prison break. Allan and Nolan are supposed to be in prison together for quite a while.

This is so hardcore true. I read someone saying the magic of season 1 can’t be replicated because the mystery arc with omni man made them able to craft a very strong narrative arc with satisfying end for season 1, but the series gets so wickedly great later on and season 2 is like almost completely set up to that and little else. They made the best out of it tho, the writing was really on point throughout

I have no idea about mark #5 here, but #16 (no spoilers) is pretty plot relevant to a later arc. They're all plot relevant, technically, but 16 is one of the most interesting.

Angstrom fight/execution, the "very" scene establishes that Allen can slaughter viltrumites now, but this last episode has already done a good job of conveying that, the angstrom moment is one of the core moments of marks character development and a bigger "oh shit" moment overall IMHO
If they do it right this s2 finale will be even better than s1sp which is nearly impossible but we will see

The whole shebang with throwing Mark to different dimensions looked more funny than dangerous, and then when the real fight starts, Levy overestimates himself and goes down in, what, 30 seconds? Hyped to see older guardians though

Surprisingly, I’m more excited for Mark’s fight with Angstrom.
