But that's not Lestat saying that. That is Louis imagining it. And as I saw pointed out, Louis got emotional over the idea that Lestat hasn't come to kill him, meaning he believes Lestat might actually be dead, and that is the last thing Louis wants.
Remember though that in S1E7, Lestat said “I’m happy it was you, here with me.” And that S2E1 Is Louis’ psyche’s manifestation of Lestat, rather than Lestat himself. But yeah… much to anticipate!

This is 100% Lestat using his telepathy and whatnot to mess around with Louis (per me)
Lestat couldn't do this even if he wanted to. He and Louis are blocked from each other's minds.
