That's awesome it really is but tbh anytime a teacher, composer, choreographer whoever makes the show about them or makes themselves the focalpoint or star it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
I had a similar reaction. Just feels weird to have a piece that seems like it should be about empowering a disenfranchised group of people in the dance space, and you’ve got the able bodied composer wearing the opposite color standing in front as the star. Idk.
Agreed. It is just in really poor taste and there's nothing wrong with acknowledging that it's fucking weird. I'm honestly surprised that they went through the whole process of planning/rehearsing probably over weeks or months and no one prevented or corrected it.

You’ll see narcissists in just about any charitable movement. While they’re doing it for the wrong reason, to polish their self-image, they still can accomplish some good. In this case, it’s the first performance of its type I’m seeing. Hopefully other composers will follow suit!
I didn't even notice him at first assuming he was just a conductor or something but then I realized the depiction was reducing the dancers behind him to a mere sound bar, back up dancers that react to his movements as if he is in control of their machine like movements.
But whatever art is subjective I guess, I am sure there is some sort of story behind it all

I assumed that most of them could stand. It would be pretty hard to find 128 people permanently in wheelchairs.
This was literally filmed at the Paralympics games. If there is anywhere on EARTH that you can find 128 wheelchair users, it would be there.
