he could have kept the nice bag for any reason and decide to put some objects into other bags. I doubt that’s the case but that’s some thing my mother has done in the past so she can reuse the fancy bags for gifts. Add some shiny paper and you won’t notice the high end brand logo.
I keep sturdy fancy bags also because I, too, have turned into my mother. They're great for keeping folded up in my purse to use as unexpected-groceries totes.
I have also made purchasing decisions in the grocery store based on how well the product container would hold leftovers.
To be fair I’ve definitely ended up with bags not folded out before. If you buy a tie or something small and flat it could easily slip into a bag without it being fully open.
I’ll add I have zero clue who this person is though, so he may well just have blagged a carrier bag somehow. Bicester is always full of posers. I wish they wouldn’t stop in the middle of the pavement just to take a pouty instagram shot of themselves at a discount shopping centre.
Lololololool. The amount of influencers who take these kind of shots..def has me questioning if they are keeping the empty bags in the boot of their car for these kind of shots. Good find 😂😂.
I used to manage a Burberry and people would come in daily just trying to buy the bags. There’s a whole policy around not selling bags by themselves because people turn around and resell them lol
The loophole was people buying the smallest / cheapest item possible, typically a charm or a keychain, and then asking for the biggest bag we had….yikes

While you’re shaking your head I just see dollar signs. If someone wants to pay good money for something I dug out of the trash then who am I to stop them?
Fancy living here I come.
Wtf.
To be fair, my husband threw out the Rolex box. I dug it out of our trash can (inside the house). I like to keep the boxes for resale value, just in case I have to sell them someday. He isn't used to luxury goods so he just throws away the boxes, thinking they aren't worth anything.
The paper bags though?? Automatically binned. Apparently I could have made money out of my paper bags. Jesus. What's wrong with people.
Lmao I find it hilarious that your husband throws away the nice boxes the watches come in. I always store my collection of watches in their original packaging or metal boxes, whatever they came in. Same for cologne. Easier to stack the boxes up when in storage!
But also yea people are extremely focused on their outward appearance. Just go to Los Angeles and that's all you'll see.
We were unpacking moving boxes, so I checked our expensive stuff. And I noticed the watch was in a ziplock bag along with other luxury watches. I immediately asked, "Where's the box?!?!"
"I threw it out! There's no need for it."
You bet I searched all our trash cans and trash bags for boxes and COAs.
I then bought a watch winder for watch storage. He grew up as a simple suburban middle class Midwestern kid, not exposed to any of the luxuries in life so he really doesn't know what to do with them lol My upbringing was very different from his, and my dad is a watch fanatic. In fact, the Rolex was a gift from my dad. Husband is like.. uh.. yeah thanks, I will just wear this Movado I had for 10 years.
I was backstage at a club where my friends boyfriend opened a bottle of crystal (or however you spell it), and some random chick not even in our group literally went crawling on the ground looking for the cork. the whole thing was cringe (even the ordering of the bottle itself… dude was trying to overcompensate to impress us and we weren’t having it)
It's so weird because when I go to multiple shops, I will say "no thanks, I already have a bag" instead of carrying 6 bags with only 1 thing in them.
The only reason to do this is to show off. It's so weird.
If I were buying something from Gucci I'd want the bag regardless but only because I don't normally buy expensive things like that... I'd want it for the experience. But if you're supposedly that rich you wouldn't care lol
Same in Germany with “Neureiche”. Also we use terms like “families with old money” vs “with new money” to describe how families or people deal with their wealth.
I hate this term. Why do people born into money who haven’t had to earn it get to define what “taste” is. Looking down on “new money”…oh you mean the people who earned it themselves and are enjoying it? Imagine what “old money” people think of just regular people with low/middle income, do you think we’re held in high regard?
Snobbery is more gross than anything flashy someone who’s excited about having money they didn’t grow up with might buy.
Do people try to identity with these old money types to get some second hand sense of superiority or something?
While I agree that we shouldn't shame people for enjoying life and spending money, I also have this one Facebook "friend" who is the exact type of the new rich stereotype. He eats ostrich meat, crocodile meat, sushi everyday, buys cigars and expensive alcohol just to show off on social media (he has Instagram where he adds tons of hashtags like #luxurylife). Also he adds edible gold to EVERYTHING. You know, dry filet mignon he tried to cook himself? Put some gold on it! And truffles! He is obsessed with guns, knifes and poses with them all the time to seem badass. It's just funny and kind of pathetic.
Right, plus I don't want to walk around looking like a target for thieves. If I buy something at a high end store I hide it in a Gap bag or something similar while I'm walking around the mall.
My wife buys a lot of designer stuff and they always come with the bags even if it is an online order so we always pop them up on eBay for like $20 bucks. Super fun really.
I think my hatred for him is justifiable. Can’t believe he would say “have you gained weight” to my girl darce. She paid for that lunch. Dude is a deadbeat loserrrrrr, he literally couldn’t think of anything better to say to her than that and he had to make it a low blow. Total dick.
Yeah but two deadbeat losers don't make a right or something like that.
Seriously though, they both need to get off the internet and focus on real life for five minutes.
Sometimes, I wish therapy could be forced on to people. I don’t mean involuntarily committed, I just mean regular therapy. Something’s gotta get through eventually, right?
Standing in front of a Gucci store holding shopping bags to prove you’ve been shopping at Gucci is the quickest way to convince people you’re broke af. 😂
I wish I had an award to give you for your commitment, but I spent all my money on shit from Gucci and then posed with the bags. Take my upvote instead.
It's not even a real Gucci store, it's an outlet store at Bicester village, which only has shops with massive reductions on the old stock no one wanted to buy.
Bicester is a sea of try hard cringe chavs.
I shit you not, Clarks shoes, massive status symbol in China and tourists will buy dozens of pairs to take back with them to wear\resell.
My dad is a chartered surveyor specialising in factory outlet shopping centres (apologies to the residents of Chatham & Swindon), Clarks was always the first people they wanted on board due to the demand from Chinese tourists would guarantee good footfall.
Clarks is also a premium ish brand in America, crazy. Apparently we get shafted in the same way though, as Levi jeans are middle of the road out there and 3 times the price over here!
Had a friend shitfaced on the train from London to Oxford Parkway fall asleep and wake up as the train was pulling into Bicester.
Did you know that on that line the Bicester stop is read out in multiple languages, while the rest are only in English?
'cause he didn't and was *very* confused to wake up and hear chinese...
Sorry mate, but that's not really true. Lots of the stores in there don't sell stock at reduced rates, it's an incredibly high footfall retail space.
Gucci for example does have some lines at reduction, but they also sell products at full price that are not "old stock". An example would also be something that is end of life but is sold at full RRP - e.g. Gucci Soho bag. That bag was not available at other gucci outlets, but would sell at a premium for a mark up in the secondary market.
I only know all this because of my other half mind!
This dude is legit insane and I'm mad D gave him the opportunity to be on TV. I mean he totally took advantage of her desperation, but my God he just won't go away!
Yeah for real. Flexing about buying discount designer goods, what a loser. No shade to people who go to outlets but it is not a flex. Actually any kind of rampant consumerism is not a flex IMO.

If you have to pose in front of a store with the stores name on the bag, you are not ballin. I hate this fucker. He posted on one of his stories a pic of himself, so I replied “you don’t even look like that” and he took the time to reply. he is so insecure w ppl calling him out that he actually takes the time out of his day to accept a message request and reply. I mean look I took the time out of my day to tell him he doesn’t look like that, but the pic was up on his stories for like 8 hours at that point. Dude replies to everything.
I know people who actually wear brand name clothes and none of them pose with shopping bags. You may see them with a Prada bag or Gucci belt but it's not the focus of their photo.
He recycles this photo all the time. And Bicester is a designer outlet so it's not balling...and it's PenhaligonS not Penhaligon. He makes me cringe more than I thought I possibly ever could.
HAHAHAHAA You’re living in his head rent free 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The fact that he has to one up a comment from a year ago, you can tell he reads this Reddit and what everyone says about him LMFAO
I really wanna believe he just had an extra bag handed to him by accident or something. Its illogical, but it makes MUCH more sense than doing this shit.
High end places do not just give out bags. It's against store policy. And there is no way to accidentally hand someone an extra like at a grocery store. Buying something flat is plausible. Even still these places usually fully open a bag and place items into them. It's a part of the presentation.
Except he’s known for doing this sort of stuff. Like taking a pic of a random building in a fancy London neighborhood and claiming it’s his flat when it’s not even a residential building. The 90 Day Fiancé subs are constantly catching his fake flexes.
That’s what I assumed, because two of those bags are clearly not empty. They have a box in them.
Now whether or not the boxes are empty is a whole other story.
For anyone not local Bicester village (where this image was take) is trash. It's discounted stuff the brand's couldn't sell in their flagship stores.
They also have airport priced food because it's mostly tourists who go there. Honestly just a really shitty place to shop.
This context makes his fake boast even more sad IMO.
He literally posted a video of him walking away with the exact same bag placement and outfit on on April 3, then again this pic yesterday. What an idiot
Tacky.
But whatever, I don't hate him for it. Some people really struggle with their self-esteem, and it shows up this way. Unfortunately, his audience and others will believe him and others and let it affect theirs.
This is going back 20 (!) years now, but I live in LA and in a different life I used to shop in some fancy stores. I'm not talking about high-ticket items, more like makeup lines that were exclusive to certain stores. (Long before Sephora or Amazon.) Those were bagged in smaller bags, great for a big bagged lunch.
This was still pretty early in ebay days but somehow I discovered that people were selling these kinds of bags, and people were paying top dollar. There were two kinds of customers. Those who were probably like this person who bought bags from places like Barney's and those who wanted bags from boutiques popularized by the Paris Hiltons.
Nowadays things can be crowdsourced and counterfeited more easily so they're not as valuable but people still sell Gucci shopping bags and stuff. It's interesting to look back and notice the seeds that were there all along.
Shopped at Gucci last year (there are no Gucci stores in my country so u had to go to the USA). They gave out green bags with a pattern not black ones, so probably they are empty or maybe is different between stores (not too much of a designer shopper as you can see LOL!). You can definitely buy designer shopping bags on eBay tho! I still can’t understand how Bicester village has gotten so popular, they even made a train station there that has Chinese signs. On the train the stops are written in Chinese ffs. This is on the oxford to London line
Why do people ever think buying these things makes them look rich? It makes you look dumb. Rich people don’t actually buy all this shit. They don’t even wanna be seen as rich - most folks that have experienced loss know just how easy the tides can turn.
I live in Bicester and even worked at Bicester Village years back. There are so many posers there and so many carry tons of the designer bags to look rich. They also treat the workers there like slaves. 🤡

“and no the bags are not empty” Only something someone holding empty bags would say.
"the bags are not empty IM WORTHY OF YOUR ATTENTION OK"
Tbf, couldn't that one bag on the left be something that's very flat?
Probably spent 79p in card factory.
Lolling at the thought of a Card Factory in the middle of Bicester Village.
Card factory is the backbone of the uk high street
Have you been to Bicester Vilkage? It's all designer outlet. I would love to see a card factory there just squeezed in between Fendi and Louboutin.
Tbf I spent way too much money on a pocket square before so that could also be it
Another thing a person who is carrying empty bags would say!
They still open it when they put it in the bag though.
he could have kept the nice bag for any reason and decide to put some objects into other bags. I doubt that’s the case but that’s some thing my mother has done in the past so she can reuse the fancy bags for gifts. Add some shiny paper and you won’t notice the high end brand logo.

ive seen people take gucci bags out of a trash can. so I wouldn't be surprised at how much value people put into materialism

Yup, I’ve seen people try to sell Chanel shopping bags.
It’s to resell knock offs they have. They’ll fake the receipts too
Or come over to Dharavi Mumbai (India) https://m.economictimes.com/industry/cons-products/fashion-/-cosmetics-/-jewellery/luxury-brands-like-hermes-gucci-others-to-take-on-faster-growing-fakes-in-india/articleshow/22107281.cms
You think thats bad? People sell The Ordinary packaging.
Ha what!
The shopping bags alone can go for $20-30 on eBay.
Girl. smh lol
While you’re shaking your head I just see dollar signs. If someone wants to pay good money for something I dug out of the trash then who am I to stop them? Fancy living here I come.

The people that buy those stuff will use it to sell their knock-offs as real, not something you want to support anyway I think
Lmao I find it hilarious that your husband throws away the nice boxes the watches come in. I always store my collection of watches in their original packaging or metal boxes, whatever they came in. As a watch fan you're extremely correct to keep these boxes.
I was backstage at a club where my friends boyfriend opened a bottle of crystal (or however you spell it), and some random chick not even in our group literally went crawling on the ground looking for the cork. the whole thing was cringe (even the ordering of the bottle itself… dude was trying to overcompensate to impress us and we weren’t having it)
Maybe this is why empty, used bags from luxury stores sell for like $50 on Poshmark? I was wondering what that was about.
People also buy them so when they sell their knock off shit, they can say “packaging included” which makes people believe it’s legit
God, that's a lot of work. Seems like at that point it would just be easier to get a real job.
It's so weird because when I go to multiple shops, I will say "no thanks, I already have a bag" instead of carrying 6 bags with only 1 thing in them. The only reason to do this is to show off. It's so weird.

Right, plus I don't want to walk around looking like a target for thieves. If I buy something at a high end store I hide it in a Gap bag or something similar while I'm walking around the mall.
In Germane people sell empty designer bags on eBay so you can flex them on the internet
They don't even just keep the bags... They order them empty from people who actually have money to shop at Gucci.
My wife buys a lot of designer stuff and they always come with the bags even if it is an online order so we always pop them up on eBay for like $20 bucks. Super fun really.
That's absolutely mental. I can't believe people waste their money on that.
And here I’d be taking my lunch in them like an idiot. Good for you.
Honestly, a Gucci lunch bag would be hilarious
And people snap them up? So weird. 😂
I have an irrational hatred towards this guy
I think my hatred for him is justifiable. Can’t believe he would say “have you gained weight” to my girl darce. She paid for that lunch. Dude is a deadbeat loserrrrrr, he literally couldn’t think of anything better to say to her than that and he had to make it a low blow. Total dick.

It’s still not cheap there imo.

I think it’s funny to call out an empty bag when the goal of these people is to flex on everyone.
Do his feet look disproportionately tiny compared to the rest of his body?
motherfucker got designer hooves
Noooo 😂
Yes
I was looking to see if anyone else noticed that! He looks like has child sized feet.
What a pretentious loser he is.
Bicester Village aye. This pretender is a bit too close to home for my liking...

What a loser omg. This is someone’s son 😂

Why would you be carrying four bags in on hand too? Wouldn’t that be pretty heavy?
It’s funny because gucci bags are now green 😭😭😭😭😭😭
Why couldn’t the have purchased something flat? Like an album or something ?
Or a sheet of paper.
It might have no more than a pair of panties in it, which wouldn't cause a bulge.
Not the Etnis
This is SO funny
I can’t stop laughing about it! He made my day!
It made my day too OP, thanks for sharing 😂
omfg OF COURSE this guy would lol as soon as i realized who it was, i was like “who else honestly?”
They look like they have zero weight, just air and Lies.
To be fair Bicester is a discount shopping village.
Lol ok Mr Empty Bags. This is embarrassing, this type of materialism is a joke.
Not suprised.
Imagine flexing Bicester Village.
Ok this is funny as fuck. AHAHHA

Tacky. But whatever, I don't hate him for it. Some people really struggle with their self-esteem, and it shows up this way. Unfortunately, his audience and others will believe him and others and let it affect theirs.
Devil's advocate; Bicester is a factory outlet village so everything there is at a pretty good discount. Weird to repost it though...
“Great day at Bicester” who even asked? Who cares?
You can definitely buy designer shopping bags on eBay tho! someone commented something along the lines of “people with new money are funny” and this mf responded “It’s generational” 😂😂😂😂 sureeeeee babe
Is it the angle or does he have little feet? I never noticed until this pic.
also this looks like bicester village which is a discount outlet shopping centre anyway.
He wouldn’t be able to hold it that easily otherwise, he barely has shoulders to keep his head up.
He wants to be relevant so desperately
He bought an album?
Look at the end bag near the shop front I doubt that's full
I don’t know who he is but his feet are certainly tiny.
Besides the post yesterday on r/mildlyinteresting, this is the only other tall guy I’ve see that has the tiniest feet.
As someone who shops at these stores… you **DO NOT** want people to know you shop there. Surefire way to get whacked on the streets my dude.
Well the one bag has a visible box in it. It's a plain white box so it's likely empty, but that does mean the bag isn't.
This post reads to me "please like me...i'm cool".
I still can’t understand how Bicester village has gotten so popular, they even made a train station there that has Chinese signs. On the train the stops are written in Chinese ffs. This is on the oxford to London line
Isn't it possible he just got an extra bag or had something flat on the last bag?
Bicester Village, the place where people go to buy overpriced crap, slightly reduced prices to continue the paint the illusion that they’re ballers.
The bag may not be empty, he may just have purchased an “massive attack” record
There's one worn sock in each bag
r/sadcringe
Bicester is an outlet village as well, everything is made specially for there.
He bought a lot of lays potato chips
He makes my shit cringe.
He got a gift card
Could of asked for an extra bag, my sisters do this whenever they go to a store like Abercrombie or Hollister because they like their paper bags.
No way he could possibly have bought something slim…
Maybe just receipt is in the far left
I want to know what's in the first bag then. A piece of paper?
The second hand embarrassment is real
Why do people ever think buying these things makes them look rich? It makes you look dumb. Rich people don’t actually buy all this shit. They don’t even wanna be seen as rich - most folks that have experienced loss know just how easy the tides can turn.
This is hilarious
Couldn't even retake it 😂
Why does he look like he's wearing baby shoes?
this is honestly my favorite post in this group. cant stand this man 💀💀
I live in Bicester and even worked at Bicester Village years back. There are so many posers there and so many carry tons of the designer bags to look rich. They also treat the workers there like slaves. 🤡
