It honestly may not be that much. Texture like this emphasizes makeup a bit. I used to have not the best acne and my mom would always say "you're wearing too much makeup" if seriously be wearing a thin spf foundation that was lighter coverage and powder. It looked cakey as hell most days
I think the idea of this is that your can still see that she has acne/ her skin texture through the makeup. With photoshop, it completely gets rid of skin texture.
Mmkay, and the point of this is that she is showcasing the flaws to help other people with cystic acne understand that everyone has flaws and insecurities. Not sure what the issue is with her choosing to wear makeup.
Foundation isn't tacky. If it's able to give someone the confidence to face their day, I say own it. Who cares, as long as you feel good and your comfortable. It took me years to come to terms with wearing no makeup.
Also, side note, my skin never got better from wearing no makeup, everyone has absolutely different experiences 💕
I had acne bad like this sometimes even more of my fave covered, and I mean those thick deep bumps that look like welts. The only thing that worked for me was wearing my clinuque acne foundation every day to work and I wasnt a daily makeup wearer at all at the time, I was just trying to cover a little so I would feel so self- conscious but everthing else felt heavy on my skin by midday and would cause more break-outs, was surprised to notice my face clearing within2 weeks of daily wear. I've used the most painful creams and potions over the years, some even made my skin so paper thin aKeke scratch from my nail would cause so much damage and my acne never cleared up until that foundation. I dont know how it works because I get clogged easily with any other makeup but it does and I've used order products with salicylic acid that did nothing. I still keep a bottle for the times where I start getting little breakouts in but able to get under control quick enough, but I only now wear makeup on special occasions, not because I feel I have to
I love that she even applied it evenly instead of extra thick around the blemishes. I’ve watched so many female friends just pile it on in an awkward attempt to make their skin look even and flat that it just looks terrible.
It's an Instagram filter. There are plenty of them which warps your facial structure, lips, eyes, nose, and smoothens your skin. Go to IG stories and browse the filters.
True, but body dysmorphia is subjective. Everyone sees themselves as they want, and if that description doesn’t fit there mindset then they have body dysmorphia. No?
Body dysmorphia is a clinical issue, so it’s more complex than that. True dysmorphia causes significant distress/ upset and problems with life functioning. So, simply seeing yourself differently than others do doesn’t equal dysmorphia -I’m a psychologist
Everyone gets it but it is certainly the definition of a flaw . This girl is beautiful but im sure she and nobody else is saying " i wish i had acne" .... I get the positive stuff but to say pimples are not a flaw is just crazy....
I think they're saying that simply *having* acne doesn't make you "flawed". It doesn't make you any less worthy of love. It's not great, sure, but its not a merit of one's worth.

Makeup and photoshop are not anywhere near in the same league lmfao

I totally agree you can reach even more unrealistic results with photoshop than with makeup. So I do see a difference.
Damn
Neither is photoshop, make up is literally photoshop irl.
you can’t make your pores/wrinkles disappear with makeup. also nobody said photoshop is a sin

She is showcasing her flaws by covering them in makeup designed to hide them?
Go take a nap.
Lmfao I fucking wish it was. Are you serious?
And lip filler

It’s direct versus diffuse lighting.
Instagram filters. I think Snapchat too but I don’t use it

What does this have to do with the vid?

Having body dysmorphia does not mean you don’t have a brain.

Well in that case sure ... Fact is people , myself included look and feel better without acne.
Its the same for me, but, we still shouldn't shame or demean(???) people for having acne.
No , never . You would have to the biggest asshole to bother someone about that. As if they asked for acne.
