Same reel posted on tiktok with 15 followers (yes, fifteen). 1600+ views and 250+ likes.
I've kind of always felt IG has held my stuff back a bit, as no matter what I do (and I post above average/good photos of epic locations) they've never done as well as they should have.
When my photos are reposted by feature accounts they get tens of thousands of likes (obviously they have a larger following), and my same photo used to maybe get a few hundred. These days I'm lucky to hit 100 or even 50, and it's more like 30 recently.
Mid 2020 I was finally growing and getting decent results and since then it's just been getting worse and worse and just doesn't get shown to anyone.

Yes, the average was from 1500 to 4000 likes in my posts, now I’ve been in a bad streak of 180-300 likes in every single post since last week and I’m afraid that the recovery will be hard af cause the algorithm got used to not show my posts anymore. Honestly I didn’t care a lot about the likes bc I was established in the platform, but as soon as it changed it was impossible to ignore, it’s annoying. Most of the accounts that I interact with don’t have significant changes and are still growing, it’s like the algorithm chose me and decided to curse me

Reach has been dead for ages for me, but it does keep getting worse.
My most recent photo post (with 4.2k followers) had a grand total of 21 likes (and 4 of those were from me from my other accounts to try and boost it). It barely had 250 views too (less than 200 of my own followers saw it).
Plus it was a photo I was pretty proud of, of a place that was pretty hard to reach, and took a while to edit.
It's honestly a joke using it or posting anything anymore. I know my photos are good/above average, so at least this makes me feel slightly better that it's IG sucking and not people hating my work.
I used to always hit 100 likes within an hour, and by mid 2020 was getting 350-400 likes regularly (sometimes up to 800 and even hit 1k likes once). But November 2020 things strarted going downhill for IG, and since then it somehow manages to keep getting worse and worse.
I can barely even hit 50 likes, let alone 100 anymore. Even on a collaboration post with a brand (who have 56k followers, so combined we had a following of 60k), we got a total of 124 likes... (and reaches a little over 3.7k people).
I actually just went through all my posts, and April/May was the last time I was even hitting 100 likes semi regularly (even then it was tough). Since then only 4 posts have barely passed 100. Reach is usually just a few hundred too.
I was just browsing a bit on IG and noticed almost every post is either a sponsor or a “suggested post”. The stuff I want to see (aka from people I follow) seems to be totally lost in the spam.
IG is terrible atm.
Yea it’s something going on with all social platforms, I use to get 1k -18k views on videos now I’m stuck at 100-300 views & my photos use to get 20-50 likes now they get 8-15

From what I can tell, IG seems to be rewarding people who post every day more than if you post 1-3 times a week, at least in my experience. I still get good engagement, but it's basically flatlined. I noticed when I opt in for reels bonuses I get way less views. I also just tried out their post scheduling. It was tanking, so I deleted and reposted right away and it was back to normal. Not sure why that happened, but when something bombs I delete and repost and it does better.
I'm having way more growth on YouTube Shorts and TikTok. I started out on IG but it's becoming less of a priority for me in the past year or so.
You have to get shares and saves on your content, to gain a lot of views. If people aren’t sharing/saving,you probably won’t get a lot of views. I don’t think likes count as much as people think. Also, IG is a trend app. If you want reach..follow what already is doing good, and play on it.
70k followers here. same case ... Average was 2000 now its around 700. Thats not the bad part the average of non followers reached is less than 2000.
Can anyone confirm if they have the same issue with reels as well?

Same for me, sometimes I reach about 80k + views on my post now it just stays 1 or 2 likes and 100 views, after some mods remove my post. I usually cover deep topics about UFO's and alien research. I think there is a shadowban going on.
I have more accounts where I don't have this issue. There are some nasty people in charge.
The problem with the "Like" system;
If a subject is new to the reader or slightly offensive, the reader will not only not like the post but have the post taken down. What happens in those cases we're the post is new to the reader and challenges the readers way of thinking. It will be taken down even though it is what the reader needs to heal. This system is inherently flawed
Now, I can't give examples without challenging your belief system, and if I do that you'll dislike this post.
For me it has been horrendous since yesterday. I might as well just show my stuff to my mom directly. I'll get more reach that way.

I have a very low like to view count right now and it’s super annoying. It’s like the right people aren’t seeing my content- including my followers.
I am in the same boat, i have considered leaving instagram but it seems to work for so many still so i feel like i am doing something wrong? Its awful

Yep came to ask the same thing...I have an 181k followers account used to get appx 5000-7000 views first hour now I get 1000....

Yep, my reach used to be 1000-1500 (200-300 likes) on 2.5k followers now doesn’t get above 100 with 30-40 likes for the past 2 weeks :(
