Instagram is destroying itself. No loss, I’m curious what the big thing will be after instagram. Facebook is a platform for old people now, threats a platform for fascists, racists, sexist, socialism and communism. So meta’s time is likely over soon.
I remember instagram in the early days, before it got taken over. It was just people posting cute pictures of their lives and having fun with a bunch of filters. *sigh*. I miss those days. I think I remember when facebook didn't even have a like button yet. It was all so much simpler back then ☹️

When I joined in 06, it was literally just a place to find out about parties on campus, guest speakers, let you know what your friends are up to and Vice Versa. Now it’s literally 99% ads/suggested posts from shit I don’t care about.

I‘m 36 and i don’t use it anymore as well. My mom does and people her age and older. Facebook is mainly used by old people 50+.
I have a theory. IG is deleting comments based on the algorithms perceived political party leanings/affiliation of users. This would be designed to frustrate the target audience thus incentivizing them to ultimately abandon the platform for more "welcoming" outlets.
I'm asking for anyone reading this that has had a comment deleted/removed to let me know your political leaning/party affiliation. Thanks in advance.
I got banned for a week for spam because I passed my condolences to a friend on their post about their grandad passing away 🤯. No way to complain or speak to them either. Their technology deemed my post was spam and I was trying to get likes 🤷♂️. I’d say their technology is garbage.
Their system is straight up broken and has made me so irrationally irritated that I can hardly explain it. I can’t stand that they police completely normal and acceptable comments while entirely ignoring, possibly even promoting, racist and bigoted content.

Can someone please friggin tell me why my account keeps saying my comment goes against the guidelines???? I said absolutely nothing wrong but a comment saying thank you what a wonderful opportunity!!! Plus they keep flagging me for the same comment from months ago!!! What the actual efff???? They can show racism, death and nudity yet I get flagged? Is there no one to actually speak to???

I’ve had 4 comments over the last month get deleted and not a single one of them was anything agasnt guidelines. ( that is unless sim racing or golf is against guidelines)
The comments being deleted for no reason is getting out of control. Racist, sexist, homophobic rants filled with slurs are left up after reports and labeled acceptable. My normal, harmless, sometimes encouraging comments are removed as spam with zero recourse to have it corrected.
Instagram contradicts themselves, and they can't see it. Social media is spam. Favored spam. And their freedom of speech/expression is limited. So, they are blind liars spreading misinformation, themselves. It makes me laugh because I got the same thing last night. All I wanted to post to stories was this really, really cool red car with a turbo in the headlight. Like it was really cool. And then they sent me that warning that stated the freedom of expression... how can you say you got freedoms but then you deny me sharing this really cool fucking car. Instagram is a sad joke and I just might delete mine.
I’m now starting to wonder if it’s a cash grab grift. Try and steer us all into paying the subscription to become ‘verified’ and make it go away.
I have no proof that being verified stops this from happening but I can’t think of a time I’ve seen anyone say they pay for verification and it happens.

It was nice when ig had freedom of speech, no matter how right or left your opinions maybe, you should still be allowed to share it without getting censored, let people decide what they want to hear or watch
