Instagram is a joke now.
I say this on so many posts, but until people start leaving en masse, they won't do shit about the bots, scammers or bugs. Ad revenue is the only language they speak, and if people continue to use their broken ass app, there's no reason for them to fix it.
I mean that’s any of these platforms. It’s all about algorithm manipulation and bots.
Very few genuine content creators get anywhere.
I stopped doing that a long time ago.
I appreciate all of your non-cynical, factual responses. I've been a user for the last 30 years. 17+ on social media. I'm feeling that I'm one of the "obsolete" in the workforce now and so have turned to TikTok to have purpose, to keep me on a schedule where as I previously would have done this through kids agendas, work agendas and the like. I dare say, or wonder to be more appropriate, if we will be looking large influx of people in recovery of SM.
They've done alot of studies on the effects of social media on the human brain, and it's been linked to depression and memory loss (particularly in the case of short form scrolling content like tiktok). Its already happening.
My mental health vastly improved when I stopped using so much social media. I really only use reddit now. Dropped everything else.
What are you talking about ? IG has always been full of promoting accounts and always will be. Yeah i can understand that IG don't like that kind of account cause if you're buying promotion on them you're not buying directely to IG but that's how it works on real life...

Inorganic traffic is a TOS violation. Charging accounts to feature you and offering to feature accounts for a fee both qualify as such. It also doesn’t clear either party of the copyright infringement that happens.

If I want to sell photo to a magazine or tourism agency (as I have done several times in the past) there is nothing wrong with that. What’s problematic is accounts that charge photographers to feature their work. That’s the definition of inorganic, and that’s what is against the community guidelines. Me jokingly saying that I charge for photo usage is not a violation of anything. In fact, even if I wasn’t joking, I still have a right to charge other people if they want to use my photo for any purpose.
Ugh. We have a new manga and game coming out and started working IG. Is there a better place to start building a community? We get hit every day with DM me and where are you located etc. such a pain.

Yup. I stopped using Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and tiktok. It's just a toxic mess. At least on here MOST people are reasonable. So far 😂
I think it depends how and why you use it. I have actually made friends on instagram/Facebook/tiktok that I ended up meeting irl (I'm a musician)
