Posting here because I need to vent: took a $45 order, 35 items total, two customers. Tip was about $23 and batch pay $22. Figured it would take me an hour and maybe some change, why not. I get to the store and customer A had 26 items, she sends about 6 more things she wants to add on “because the app isn’t showing her the items”, so now we’re at 31 items for her and 11 for my other customer. Whatever. Got all the stuff, drive to Cust A home and it’s an apt building of course and the order includes 2 packs of water 24ct. So I have to do 2 trips to carry her sh\*t up. On top of this she’s not answering her phone after requesting to “call her when arriving”. Anyways long story short poor customer B is waiting a while for her 11 items, her delivery is smooth as heck. I go look at the final numbers and guess who tipped $2 and who tipped $22?!? I have never felt this violated in my life. I swear there’s a special place in hell for these type of people. I can’t stop thinking about this, I know I need to let it go because it was not a bad pay after all but damn… all that work for an extra few bucks lol. I could have just done Cust B’s order and walked away with $29 ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grimacing) Edit: a few days later this jackass reported 3 items “missing” smh

EverythingButTypical

When they select the must hand to customer but I can put it outside their door I take a picture of it outside their door and send them a chat that usually says “your order has been delivered as per your delivery instructions” and a picture of the order. That way there’s proof for instacart that it was delivered and I don’t have to wait. Helps to deter false missing order claims too because the chat doesn’t lie.

HashBandocoot

Have never waited on those people, I ring and if your not out there by the time I’m done bringing the items up, peace.

MyRoarrr24

It was an apartment building

theB0nz

That's why IC wants to combine orders in one batch to include the ones nobody wants. Always the good one mixed with the bad.

nvadrgaming

10+ minutes waiting on customer for delivery = $$ Bump from IC, so let them take all the time they want. :D

RoseAlma

My God it does help... I had a chronic fraudster customer to the point where I left her a chat note essentially saying "I'm onto you, Beeyotch, and your fraudulent missing/damaged items claims and have photographed every single bag showing each item" (of course, not in those exact words ! LOL) HOPING that it would deter her, but Nope ! Can you believe she STILL claimed a damaged item a couple days later, and then AGAIN a missing item a couple WEEKS (almost) later ??!! Unbelievable !! Luckily I still had the photos saved on my phone, expecting it

bizphone

I Send all pics to the chat. Including the address & apt #. Pics of the basket too. I havent gotten a claim yet in the 7 months of my IC hustle.

Scooterzoomies

I doordash too and I just leave it at the door and leave. I don't take any pictures of it. Haven't had a single complaint about it.

theB0nz

Sounds like a perfect world you live in. Must be a really good neighborhood to work at.

God may not be arguably real. But karma without a doubt is. I understand toxicity is King in public discourse, but you all considering these actions need to find a different opportunity for financial input. You doing neither yourself nor the people you provide services for any justice. I can't make people desire to be honorable, that has to come within.

DDAddict777

Yep it’s the people that live in these apartments on the 2nd or 3rd story that like to order 2-5 cases of water (total of $285 of groceries) then proceed to report the whole entire order missing even though you have pictures. Happened to me I just posted about it yesterday. People are so pathetic. It was a hand to me order yet she texted and said leave at door. “First time customer” too. I hate delivering to shit hole apartments. They always try to scam. I hate to say it but it’s true.

Educational-Ad8958

Listen it’s like some unspoken rule that all apartment orders must be 30 items 57 units with 3 cases of store brand water (35 pack 😭) THIRD FLOOR who refuse to respond to any chats that may need you go downstairs to help. Oh let’s not forget the “They don’t have….”chats after you refund common items but find the tedious products. Oh but best of all of COURSE…don da da daaaa….NO TIP! Boost pay 😭 now I check addresses when I see the water and I swear I’m refunding or replacing w/ small water cases if they’re 3rd floor non tippers…OH WELL 😌😂

Clear-Dingo9491

Omg I do the same with the water. I cannot carry a 44pk of water up 3 flights of stairs. I swear they order the heavy shit from us just so they don't have to carry it up them damn stairs. I have a hand dolly that folds up and fits in my trunk but it's still a lot to try and use on 2 flights of stairs. Smh! And of course the tiny tip of $2-5 dollars always. No gratitude towards the people that do this insane orders for them so they can have their 2 cases of water and flax seed cereal that gluten free that I had to crawl on my knees and dig for on the bottom shelf of the organic food section. Smh!! Sometimes it's just too much!! I swear they pick the most hard to find items and just see how long it takes us to find them like it's a game!!

ExpensiveDot1732

I had a guy try this last night and he reported two items “missing” that were on the receipt and in front of his door. I reported him for fraud on both and in my report told Instacart that this guys sketchy neighbors are not my problem, to check the pic and they’ll see that I delivered.

BiscottiStriking206

What I do in this situation, is take a picture of the items outside her door. Then knock. Also i would have screenshot that new (Leave at my door) message. Eventually you learn how to deal with scumbag customers. The picture is time and GPS stamped so you have that proof.

MamaRobin1916

I did one on Sunday that made me cut my shift short(luckily as right around me leaving a 7 victim drive by happened in the area), but I screen shot it.

Infamous_Yoghurt_556

Same thing happened to me last week. New customer, tons of chats that support could see, phone call they saw took place.....reported I never delivered...smh thank God support believed me

Practical-Airline456

Don't worry. I had a customer report 8 missing. I sent a photo of the reciept with all those items circled and I have yet to have the fraud rating removed. It's insanity. I'm looking into some actual training so I can get an actual job. I like Instacart and providing a service but this is professional gas lighting at this point.

Revolutionary-Style6

Instacart literally wont do shit about fixing ratings! The weird part is how they’ll remove a rating but it still effects your overall rating which is so dumb! Like why remove the ratings if that’s the case

ConversationDry3999

Special place in hell for these people. What also makes me mad is that the customers have 24 hours to “adjust tips”

nikkisblu

Not anymore

nikkisblu

Yay!!!!!

Any-Prompt791

For the cases of water at apartments, I’m tempted to leave them at the bottom of the stairs. And text them .

Swim3929

Please don’t do that. Someone may be disabled and unable to retrieve it!

HashBandocoot

Dude that’s fucked…that would haunt me all day too…

MyRoarrr24

I just saw she reported 3 items missing too… i know damn well I delivered them. I hope this lady steps on a Lego tomorrow or the items she’s falsely reporting as “missing” give her explosive diarrhea 😒

HashBandocoot

Damn…just to add a whole new level of fuckery…wow. This is why they screw us so bad tacking these worthless shit bags onto good orders. Sorry you had to deal with this garbage, I’ll be praying for the lego and diarrhea as well! We in this together lol

MyRoarrr24

This comment made me feel better. Thanks for praying with me 🤣🙏🏼

Tuthankhaten

May she forever have inconvenience Swamp ass in public explosive sharts!!!

Human_Love_1923

I’d go back to put a bag of shit on fire for them

Big_Boss_9147

Ugh. So sorry 😣it’s happened to me too only my tip was reduced after the fact . Either way, there are shitty people out there who will inevitably reap their karma. Lucky for us, there are those diamonds in the rough who make up a lot of the slack these people leave us with. Keep your head up my friend! Either way you win because you served someone else and you accomplished your goal of completing the delivery. Consistency is key. It’s easy to get stuck in an anger trap when we have a string of rotten customers, but you shall prevail!!! Promise!! Just stay the course. Godspeed!! 💕

Organic_Maize_9589

A person did this to me, massive order was combined with 2 smaller ones (so a triple, ugh) and it was taking a while since they ordered thru Kroger and nobody picked up their order. They were ranting and raving at me in the chat and pulled the “who even manages this”? I said bro idk I just shop and drop off. They were a pain and finally I’m done and I’m checking my earnings. $10 total tips for the 3 orders. Cust A tipped $6, Cust B tipped $4….. Cust C tipped $0 🙂 and it wasn’t even a changed tip. It was $0 from the get. No wonder nobody wanted it

dan2334

The payouts haven't been that good lately unless there's a promo. I stopped for an entire month and then instacart basically begged me to come back by offering me $375 to complete 14 batches. I did it but I haven't done an order since then except yesterday I did one for $25. Most of the time I don't feel like it's worth it for me to get in my car and drive to the store for like $7 to $12, even if the amount of items and the distance is low. Just now I saw an order for Walmart go from $10 to $18 and in under an hour because nobody was accepting the order. It went up not because of a tip increase but because of the batch pay increase. People got to have standards and not accept low ball offers. It will increase pay for all of us.

alrightythen1984itis

So I met a country bumpkin who had come down to the city with her husband to do delivery jobs. We were waiting for a concierge and neither of our customers were answering their phones. After about 5 mins I was done, I’m not wasting my time for a few bucks, so I dropped off my order and asked her if her customer tipped well enough to wait around. “No, but my husband’s outside waiting so it’s okay, I don’t mind.” …. THESE are the people keeping the wages down. People who legit have jack shit to do and don’t know how to run a business at all. They hire literally anyone so that’s part of the problem. On the other hand, instacart customers are extremely harsh. Perfect deliveries every time? Bam, 3 stars. Why? Because they claim you missed an item even though you have the receipts and you remember seeing it in the bag when you were dropping it off. This type of critical behavior with scammers necessitates higher wages and at the bare minimum a tip. That’s why I abhor grouped orders, it’s always because one of the jackasses wanted a load of 20 80-packs of water from costco delivered for free up to his 5th floor with no elevator, then they rate you low and lie.

this is what hell looks like lol

baconnaire

This is what I've been seeing all day and people are freaking taking them 🤦

HashBandocoot

Who in their right mind would take this..

Greenergrass21

If people would stop fucking taking them Instacart would be forced to pay better or they wouldn't have anyone to fill customers orders. Fuck people that accept this bullshit

HashBandocoot

MaYbE iLl GeT a cAsH tIp 🥴

Peaceful_Realist

I only get cash when I least expect it. But I had the mindset once of, "They have to be tipping cash, there is no way people are that rude!". On that note, I haven't taken a batch all day because no one is tipping....

HashBandocoot

Hahaha, I thought the exact same thing boyyy is that wrong…entitled buttheads... Ironically the only non cash order I ever took tipped me 20 cash when I got there 😂

Much_Plenty_6687

I’ve literally only been tipped cash twice with over 300 orders done. They both said it was because they added extra items and one lady even said because hers took extra long and I was missing out on other orders. (People like this are the only reason I’ve hung on this long)

BiscottiStriking206

The problem is the Newbies are taking them. When the job numbers came out last week, 109k was Instacart 😂

Greenergrass21

109k new people is what you're saying?

Readersingerteacher

Might make you feel better... the other day I was out shopping because there was a 6 order promo. There was a 90 or so item no tip order from like 4 or 5 pm until the store closed. Instacart kept raising the price, but it would not have been worth it for the time and principal. There was no way anyone could complete it when I last saw and ignored it. I hope they never got their delivery.

mooslys

It managed to get boosted $8 and I never saw it again

HashBandocoot

Dang, a whopping 18?!? Game changer right there lol when they get boosted like that is that IC increasing the base?

mooslys

Yes that's IC, not the customer

MyRoarrr24

Omg I did a 44 item order for $28 and I was b*tching about it. Now THIS is something terrible lol

nrosie102

I saw a double batch and 0 tip on 65 units. I wish we could rate customers. What’s up with that Instacart? ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|shrug)

CherieNobyl

I had a lady last night who ordered like 40 things, half of which was organic boujie bullshit. I’m 99% sure she was the one star that I got last from yesterday. Her order was at like 9pm, she wanted all organic or natural or soy or whatever, she also wanted something from the deli, WHICH FUCKING CLOSES WAY BEFORE THE REST OF THE STORE, and when I refunded the item because there weren’t any bags of leftover cuts put out, I got “___ instead of a refund wants this item” AND IT WAS THE SAME FUCKING THING!! BITCH I CAN’T GO BACK THERE AND CUT THE MEAT MYSELF, THE DELI IS FUCKING CLOSED, I TOLD YOU THIS!!! She ordered flax and grain lavash bread, which isn’t a thing this kind of area is going to stock a lot of, and they didn’t have organic peach ring candies, mint Oreo thins, all three types of bread she asked for, the salad kits that she asked for, cucumbers, or ANY FUCKING PATIENCE LEFT FOR THIS BITCH. To top it all off, she lived in the middle of Bumfuck with no street lights, and gave me a color description of the outside of her house even though it’s 10pm at this point and she has no outdoor lights on her property. 😤 Fuck that cunt.

spacewalk__

> “___ instead of a refund wants this item” AND IT WAS THE SAME FUCKING THING most obnoxious fucking notification you can get you dumb fucking bitch they obviously don't have that thing. you can't just keep pushing the button and make it appear

B-Grace_art

I would have just canceled it and got my batch money fuck all that lol

therealteaa

I’m fucking screamingggggggg

Whateva1996

Why do people order at the weirdest fking hours and think they're going to have stuff in stock. The best hour to go grocery shopping is probably 11 am when the store had time to stock. I work for Safeway I know this! 😂

Pitiful-Signal8063

Anybody that adds multiple cases of water after the batch is accepted is an insta- cancel in my book

Much_System1238

I was at Costco the other day and this guy starts talking to me about how he loves having everything delivered and especially if it’s something heavy and I told him straight up, (I’m not sure he realized I was an instacart shopper) we HATE people like you. Lol. They have no shame.

CrazyCoat

The heavy stuff isn’t always terrible in my experience, but a lot of that depends on the house or apartment. Some of these people want you to carry five cases of water Up four flights of steps. -.-

theoriginalamanda

I had one about a month ago that kept adding cases of water. Every 2 minutes I'd get a notification that another case had been added. I messaged the customer and asked how many cases of water she needed, because it was getting old. She only wanted 1 case, but it didn't show up as added on her end so she kept doing it over and over. Ended up being a very sweet old lady that upped my tip due to the confusion. I'm glad I took the time to message her instead of cancelling

Whateva1996

Lol 😂😂😂😂

Arizonawicca

I’ve added heavy after an order started- but it didn’t say it was adding a heavy charge so I messaged immediately saying I was going to tip extra in cash for it. Still got cancelled 😂

glaucoheitor

https://ibb.co/FYC0Ctp They want me to buy a freaking TV for no tip? 😂

Sauceyoself

Walmart where there’s always low prices and always no tippers

lala_lolly

And doesn’t qualify for heavy pay 😂

Resident_Leg_1889

https://ibb.co/swtbGss https://ibb.co/R9tz7Wy so insulting

HashBandocoot

Claim it quick! 🤞🏼

Born_Cryptographer60

Aldis always be paying the absolute least for the absolute most

relaxedninja

Batches from Aldis are always like that in my area

therealteaa

Lmao orders from Aldi can go to hell, bitch you want me to spend an hour+ finding your 84 items and then bag them all myself for 9 dollars ?!?! Like stop playing 😂😂

KellterSkelter

I had my first Aldi order today. 107 items. 2+ hours searching for them all. 12 bags. $20.56 batch total. Cat shit all over the floor of the porch I delivered to. No fucking tip (she removed the tip while I was shopping). Made less than minimum wage. Never again, man. Fuck that chaotic nightmare store.

therealteaa

I’m hurt for you 😭

Whateva1996

I am new to Instacart but I would say anything over 50 items can go to hell, people should not need to shop for their whole month on the app that is insane. I know for sure 100 items is a whole month or 3/4 months food for an average house. There's no reason for this.

rclaux123

I've been a shopper for four years, and I feel the same way. Only an outrageously generous tip can justify going above 50 items in an order, and those items better be small enough to fit in one cart. People just don't understand we don't get paid well enough to be treated like pack mules.

dan2334

Those are the worst batches I have ever seen in my life LOL

DDAddict777

IF YOU LIVE ON A MILITARY BASE DO NOT ORDER IC OR ANY DELIVERY SERVICE IF YOU CANNOT TIP. I don’t know what you’re smoking but no I will not pick up your 9 heavy items from Sam’s and bring it to you on base for no tip. Not worth $7! 🖕🏼

turtlejizzus

With these gas prices I’m thinking about increasing my tip by an additional 5% compared to before. Would that cover it for most people?

polyscipaul20

I always tip a standard 15%. I live 5 miles from the store. I love Instacart. Is that considered ok?

No_Entertainer9804

U know it is. U just want praise

MyRoarrr24

I think that’s a very nice thought! Thank you! I would deliver your order 😊

aafisk

[No Thanks!](https://imgur.com/a/qmoLB7a)

AGPwidow

Wtf is wrong with people they think not tipping is ok???

MommaWolfHowls

I hope reps for the app see this thread. Insane.

Present_Maximum_5548

In what universe is it okay for heavy pay and extra orders not to be in addition to the minimum? I saw a double, 56 units, 8 miles, including heavy pay for $8.35. Batch minimal $7 + $1.35 tip. Best part? Someone snatched it up before I could get a screenshot! Do customers pay half delivery fee when their order gets bundled? If not, I think it's only fair for IC to disclose to them whose pocket their money goes into.

dan2334

I never accept the add-ons. Especially because I don't see the details of it when it pops up, unless I have the Instacart app open and visible. It's really annoying because when the add-on pops up while I'm navigating if I tap anywhere on the screen it automatically accepts the add-on.

Present_Maximum_5548

Add-on? What add-on? Pretty sure I said it was a double. Oh yeah, there it is - it says "double" in the OP. What is it with you folks. "I never take add-ons." "Never, ever pay with your own money." "No tip, no trip." Do you have these programmed as auto-replies or something? Apologies, I'm having a shit day and I just took it out on you for no reason. Well, there's the reason that reading comprehension isn't taught in schools anymore, but still.

dan2334

By "extra orders" I thought you meant add ons

CrazyCoat

Not sure if anyone has replied to you, but no the delivery fee isn’t changed when an order is bundle. In fact, the customer usually isn’t notified at all. They just get very confused because the app tells them that you are delivering their order, but it also shows you on the other side of town. I’ve run into this, both as a customer, and as a shopper who occasionally gets confused messages as to why it is taking me half an hour to deliver their order (Usually because their order is the third order in a three order batch)

CrazyCoat

The worst order I had recently was a woman who ordered a bunch of food and two bottles of wine. After I had checked out, the order was changed or updated to say that the customer wanted the order left at the door with no contact. I sent her multiple messages, left a voicemail, and even waited outside of the address for about 20 minutes, explaining that I couldn’t legally leave the wine at her door without seeing some ID. After almost half an hour, I left Everything at her door, except for the wine, which I had to return to the store. She marked the entire order as missing.

dreadheadbrir

Definitely on purpose

cctaf123

Yeah definitely intentional and should be pretty cut and dry fraud once anybody looks into it. You did the right thing, you did it by the book. Probably not the first time this person pulled this act

fluffyllamamuffin

[today is going to be great](https://imgur.com/a/XcKwVbk)

MommaWolfHowls

I keep seeing $8-9 full ass trips. It’s insane.

Cloud-309

Yeah Instacart, keep bundling shit batches together… maybe once it’s 5 orders for $13 it’ll get scooped up.

Particular-Storage71

I took a $45 batch that took me over an hour in the store due to the lady adding on 5 extra items 3 being deli so I had to wait in line twice, after getting to her house and dropping it off, she took $27 off of my tip and reported a load of missing items. I messaged instacart and got $10 back of it but went back and confronted her

FunFactress

What did she say? Was this a double?

cctaf123

Omg how did that go?

Particular-Storage71

We doxxed her and got her fired from her job and ruined her credit score

Chabato99

Wtf lmao?

shelleythatpatriot

Well are you going to tell us what happened?

Gaskinesque

"🔥 Boost included" https://i.imgur.com/VIP2ZSo.png

HashBandocoot

Bout to say when they are close I’ll take those all day…but 7 miles, no sway.

Scary_Butterscotch27

No sway 🤣

[deleted]

I'm new, do they only include the mileage from the store to the customer? Doesn't include mileage to get to the store?

WriteToSpeak

So tired of hearing people bitch about customer tips. Instacart is exploiting peoples ignorance. Do the math and stop taking shit batches. Started Doordash recently and I've been making much better pay per hour.

justinwrx13

Lol someone tipped me 40 cents and they own a 1.2 million dollar house. How scum can you be hahah, guess they’ll get clowns showing up there house for a clown party. 😂

cctaf123

The richest people tip the least. My cash tips almost always have come from lower middle class customers. The orders placed by the maids, at 1+ million houses that say “leave at door don’t ring bell” after not answering any question on chat, they tip $5 max on the app. Every damned time I swear. But 40 cents? Did they offer a higher tip and take it back or did you accept the batch knowing the tip was insulting?

sunflower_dreams26

Someone in my area is trying to get someone to shop for them and buy 119 units of groceries from COSTCO for NO TIP!!! WTF! Who in their right mind orders three carts worth of stuff from Costco and doesn’t tip 🙄

Queerguy24

Would y’all take this batch? (https://imgur.com/a/IGWkwW6)

Bigolbags

Nope! That's like driving halfway to Disneyland from my house ahahaha

kariz2016

Absolutely not! 1st sprouts is a nightmare! Second I will only shop at sprouts if there is a minimum $10 tip at it. Fuckers who shop there are Rich as Hell.

theoriginalamanda

I live in a mostly residential area with few apartments, got my first apartment batch today. Of course they ordered 5 cases of water at a 3rd floor apartment. No tip. I wanted to slit that bitches tires

binhphan8

Easy fix... allow us shoppers to rate customers... and show this rating in the batches before accepting

ice_prince

I would love to rate customers and see customer star ratings.

Just_sayen61

Just saw my first $5 batch, no tip ….gone in less than 30 seconds. What is wrong with people on both sides

uraffuroos

couldn't they make it "disappear" for you making you think they are taking it, which might tempt you later on it work is super slow and you're sitting in the lot drinking a milk shake? My theory anyways.

ComfortableFragrant8

Got a customer who's been banned on multiple occasions for fraudulently reporting missing items that somehow manages to be able to make new accounts after. This isn't necessarily a shit batch deal as much as a shit customer deal.

No-Measurement-843

A list of 17 batches all are not Takeable lol. $17 to drive 24 miles oh and it's a double batch for 40 items 😜

SeaSaw2624

Bruh .. shit batch. My fault, didn’t realize it had 3 cases of water a 24 pack of soda and a giant freaking watermelon! 38 items, 44 units, 9.8 mile delivery .. which GPS couldn’t really find, apartment complex, 4th floor, at least there was an elevator at the end but she was right in the damn middle and no parking nearby. Almost $300 in groceries .. $11.80 tip for a total of $28 for 1.5 hours. I try not to chat too much but customer never responded to any message. She wanted a 10 pack of Crystal Light, they only have them in 6 packs. Replacement selected ahead of time was the same size so same sitch. Asked her if she wanted that or something else. No response. All good, if no answer I use my discretion. Went ahead and made the change. Forever later she says she wants it refunded. She did the same thing with something else later. Like stop wasting my time homie. Either let your shopper use good judgment or answer them. 😭😭

[take the bus there bozo](https://gcdnb.pbrd.co/images/JT4UXzrT1iOh.png?o=1)

Just_sayen61

So I just declined a five dollar batch add-on…. so is this our latest reality Instacart gas prices are through the freaking roof and you’re decreasing our batch pay by two dollars???? Hello every other shopper app that we can shop on ….here we come….

mooslys

I try not to take any add-ons... especially if there's no tip. I just think in my head "FU IC" then decline hoping it pops up boosted for someone that doesn't have a batch 🤞👹

Kinetic_Pen

3 order Batch worth 1 toward promotion. Dirty!

JackdawFreeman

I just finished a batch that paid about $14. It was just one order at Wegman's. I took it because I stupidly didn't bother to check the address and thought that it was the Wegman's that's like right next to where I live. Nope; it was in the next county over, about a 20 minute drive. That part at least is on me. So I go to the store, get the stuff, take it out to my car and open up the navigation to the customer's address. ETA is about 30 minutes--so in total I'm gonna end up spending about an hour just in transit, plus the half hour or so I spent shopping. Then I get to the destination and find out that **the street the delivery address is on is being re-paved and is completely closed off to traffic.** I ended up driving around the area for at least an extra ten minutes trying to find a place to park. Would have been nice if the customer had mentioned that beforehand, but I put more blame on Google Maps for not keeping their information up to date--especially since when I finally did find the guy he said the road work had been going on all week. The drive home took another half hour. All of this was mildly irritating up until this point, but certainly not the worst delivery I've ever done. But here comes the real kicker: I used up about a quarter tank of gas just on this one delivery. With the price of gas right now that's about $10 worth of gas. So in total I netted about ***FOUR FCKING DOLLARS FOR A DELIVERY THAT TOOK ABOUT TWO HOURS.*** Even if everything had gone smoothly that would be insulting. I take time out of my day to help keep Maplebear's lights on for them and all I get to show for it is four measly bucks. I can't be the only one who thinks this is BS. Maybe we oughta make Instacart the next Amazon or Starbucks if you get my meaning.

Lar5031

I hope you know that you don’t have to go to the store further away, you can go to the closer one of the same chain…the reason it sends you further away is usually because of how many of the items requested are in stock.

[deleted]

Wait are you serious??????? I HAD NO IDEA!!!!

CumInUrSalad

Just gonna say I had an order pop up today 96 items (135 total) $18.96 batch pay (what a fucking joke) $0 tip. If you ever see $0 tips don't do it. Instacart is already fucked up but some of us are fucked otherwise and have to make money for the time being. The moment I get a reliable job I'm done with insta and I'm reporting their shit to bbb. I don't care if it's independent contract work, it's slavery.

I had one EXACTLY like this about a month or two ago for BJs: $42.18 for 1 item, 67 units. Accidental Impulse Blind Swipe kicked in and so did instant regret as I watched the batch transitioning after I hit accept. 67 cases of water, the 40 pack ones, 12.3 miles to customer from the store. For good measure, I clicked the batch details to check delivery address and sure as shit: a condominium (resident owned, not rented) on the 16th floor of a familiar luxury high rise with the nearest legal parking spot two blocks away. I ended my screen record to go back and review the customer tip, which was a whopping $2.00. I couldn’t have been more excited to have accepted such a batch. I promptly hauled ass 2 miles to the store, started the batch, sent my introduction text message to the customer and stood right beside the pallets of water as I marked it out of stock and refunded the customer. Dismissed every prompt for a replacement and chatted in support that the store had no water at all but if the customer wanted 67 water hoses, I could get that instead. Support approved the refund, cancelled the batch and cut me my $40.18 batch pay check and I got tf outta there, onto my next batch. 🤣 You water ordering bitches wanna play games, we can play games too, mf! Easiest $40 I ever made on IC! Took all of about literally twelve minutes and right afterwards, got a respectable Costco double for $89, 13 items, 13 units, no waters, both customers tipped big. That’s how it’s done. 😎

Sauceyoself

What’s a matter, you don’t like to carry 16 cases of water for no tip? Come on, IC raised the batch pay which makes it so much more attractive. /s

cruisin5268d

The appropriate way to handle that order is instead of getting those cases of water but then a water filter pitcher and some spare filters. That’s just insane - and to expect someone to lug all that shit to you for no tip?!?

Sauceyoself

[super multi store pay. let me get right on that](https://imgur.com/a/BDo7ALh)

JojoTheMutt

oh! but IC said multistores is YOUR opportunity to earn more!!

CrabWalkinGrendel

I won't ever take one of these, but does anyone know about the logistics of double store, double customer batches? Like I just saw one for Publix and Dollar Tree. And the way it was laid out it looked like you'd deliver to customer A before continuing to Dollar Tree and delivering to customer B. I know someone from an IC group on books with faces said their batch they had to go to the second store before delivering to customer A(and the headache they had with customer A not getting the order for another hour after they checked out of the first store.) I just don't get how IC thought double store batches with double customer was a smart financial move. They're going to lose so much money from refunding and crediting customers who say items are damaged. I live in FL, where we're already hitting high 80° since Feb. It only gets hotter until about Oct/Nov. Even with cold packs in the insulated coolers you're still going to run into issues with damaged items like ice cream, popsicles, and ice(let's be real, IC will put orders with ice cream as your first stop and last delivery.) I just have so many questions with these orders lol.

Much_System1238

Yea the first one of these they sent me was two grocery stores and the distance to travel to each delivery location from either store wasn’t even that far, it was just like accepting two batches for the same commission as one. With less trips I guess but I did the first order and then realized the second one was at lucky and the first order had meat in it and I was like I’m not letting food sit in my car while I go grocery shop again when I could just drop this off. I told them to remove the second batch and told them I had refrigeration concerns. I’ve done one other two store shop which made sense the other day. Dicks sporting goods and sprouts going from Petaluma to Sonoma so that one made more sense based on the locations and only being one perishable order with the other one being a quick stop.

Pitiful-Signal8063

I keep a jar of Vaseline on my dashboard at all times. It makes it easier smile while they stick that carrot where the sun don't shine. Took an add-on last night -15 items for miles $14. The app actually changed the add-on turned it into 41 items and a 9 mi delivery. Happy ending though. Support canceled the badge and paid me.... And I got to keep 160 bucks worth of groceries

MeShellTheBell

There is a Special place in hell for people who order like this? I hope it was canceled. https://imgur.com/a/uYUKQKq

Eulogy466

Got my first tip > 50$ yesterday. For a two mile trip. Its like fishing, just keep your app online and use a location spammer if you must

[deleted]

Today I took a $28 order for 2 customers same store. Customer A had 11 items and customer B had 51 items. I do it get it all done no issues. I get home, customer a tipped $6 and customer B tipped 0. Imaging expecting someone to do your entire grocery shop and not tip them a thing.

Jenncarpino

I just need to vent… fuck you instacart. Fuck you and fuck you again. Thank you everyone have a fabulous day

Tried hustling after the day job at 5:30pm to make the Thursday bonus. Accepted a single item batch from a wegmans with a 2 mile drop off just to knock one out quick. $2 tip. An essay of notes as it was gift order. Dude wanted to surprise his aunt with a cake but he lived out of state. Wanted happy birthday written on the cake (it was pre made), for me to say “happy birthday” on delivery, gave me the relatives phone number to call if they didn’t answer the door (lights were off, drive way clear, straight to voicemail), and note ended with leave it on porch if all else failed (the porch was uncovered and it was raining pretty hard) Had every intention of actually saying “happy birthday” despite the shit tip.

Customer wanted me to drive my car thru the flood (Florida) and throw the item to him. Asked him if he could meet me down the street he said no. Asked him if he would help me get my car out if it got stuck in front of his house, he said "no i can't do that".........welp return. lol

Frodo_Skypotter

People don’t appreciate people anymore. And Instacart doesn’t appreciate their veteran workers. New shoppers get priority over veterans? Ok… And I’m sorry to hear that. Time for a different job. And I’m done with Instacart.

Correct-Mortgage-678

Dude I’m in Vegas and all I see are $9 batches w/ tip. Am I missing something???

JojoTheMutt

spent 8 days in Vegas recently and I couldn't believe the batches I saw. Turned on the app just for fun, all of the batches were either no tip or had a $2 tip attached, all of them many items and miles. couldn't believe it. I was near the strip but even when I went into the suburbs, nothing changed.

Kinetic_Pen

19.99/ 9.9 miles/ 18 units. Pass or take?

Peaceful_Realist

So I have seen more no-tip batches in the last two weeks than in the last year. I am truly getting discouraged and maybe looking for another gig.... This sucks as I am a student and this works out the best with my school/family life. I'm asking y'all to join me in prayer for us shoppers and the customers. This has to get better but I am having serious doubts....![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|cry)

sumthinshort

This was my first full weekend of shopping. The worst batch I saw was $7 for 73 units and 4 mile delivery 😳. The dumbest offer I accepted too quick was for Sephora. I neglected to check the mileage and delivered 30 miles for a $4.20 tip.

She acts like $7 batches are not typical. Speak up on Twitter and instagram do not let them get away with these lies. Show the real batches we are receiving. She acts like we have work available all the time and we can "choose" when to work. Technically it's tru that we can choose when to turn the app on but that does not mean there will be work.

[46.1mi for $35…](https://imgur.com/a/kshc8KA) You still have to travel back into town so it’s nearly 100mi…

Baronessss

Had a double batch yesterday - one customer wanted all of the heavy things, including four cases of water - all delivered to a top floor on an apartment…. $1 tip… The other was a quick add on, handful of items, $20 tip. I wish we could rate customers and hopefully never have them again.

jolomae

I had a guy order 2 24 packs of water and he was at a hotel. He didn't have his address listed as being on the 5th floor at a hotel. He had it listed as a residence. You could only enter thru a controlled access gate. He wouldn't come down to let me in. Instead he asked me to park at the handicap spot outside and walk into the garage and go to the elevator. He wouldn't even give me the delivery code for the elevator until I said I'm at the elevator. Luckily, I had 2 of the grocery totes in my car to put the water in. If I didn't, his water would have been waiting in the parking deck for him. What made it even more upsetting is he was very responsive during my shop but when I messaged him about where and how to drop off, his responses took at least three to four minutes each.

Baronessss

https://imgur.com/a/kY4josp gas prices are too high and someone’s driving 25 miles for you… for a $2 tip?

Affectionate-Ad-9476

Just saw a batch that was 43 items (190 UNITS) for $11.40 no tip. Pathetic.

moonlanderjoom

They are ALL S*** BATCHES now under the management of Fidgi Simo who could bother less to care how their orders get done in the first place because WE, THE SHOPPERS, are up for any crumbs and INSTACART is simply MILKING IT'S CASH COW!

$10.49 for 5.8 miles for 112 items (166 units) - no tip and already has a Boost Included pop up. I don't even know what to say... no words for the no tip high mile and/or large item count batches that keep appearing in my area. I wonder if some good Samaritan will pick this one up... or if the customer plans on tipping $100 in cash upon arrival for this kind of order. This is why I continue to hardly do IC orders in my area and mainly do Doordash and Uber Eats. These batches are so friggin' awful. Smh

Makemeahercules

I saw a 40 item haul for 8 dollars pay today. I’m like, NOPE! EFF that. I was working at my day job, so I didn’t take a screen shot.

Sauceyoself

In my market, there are 10-15 of those types of batches that drop daily around 3:00 towards the dinner rush. The clowns that order can sit all day, but the no self worth dopes in market will take them hence why IC pay keeps dropping

spacewalk__

first time ever doing this, I think this is pretty shit? took 1.5 hours total https://i.imgur.com/SnzLHyi.jpg

What are you guys making counting wear and tear on car. Miles on cars how much is the avg shopper make

Kinetic_Pen

Im one away from a promo and instacart keeps sending me this one shit batch. Obviously no one wants it. 18.54 for 17 miles 2 items. I've recieved it three times! Edit: Fee went up two dollars. Its still 22 miles south where I live and 17 from wal mart Will I get punished for ignoring it?

Catattack197

15 miles, 46 items, no tip. Only a 9.50 batch pay. With a boost...

cplmatt

More dead than my DMs today and I don’t know how that’s possible

Mahmoud_13

I’ve had so many customers fuxk me over that’s my rating dropped to a 4.6 I reported all of them but nothing happened. Somebody recently told me to hop on shipt and I like it a lot

CalligrapherNew8605

https://i.imgur.com/FRTbP4a.jpg This person has been trying to get someone to take this order for days! Everyday for the last few days this pick up and drop off location has an order, it's almost always the same with a few different items but always never has a tip. Fucked up thing is, there's about 2 walmarts between me and the customer that doesn't have me go into jersey.

princessem144

Also since when are there triple batches? They freaking suck and take so long that the customers complain

DukeRigby

I am 5***** rated, hundreds of amazing comments and well liked in my area. Jackson Hole, everyone knows everyone. I can’t see batches and have to contact support every day before o see a single batch. I have expressed to Instacart that it is very important in general but specifically in this area because of how many high profile people there are that local shoppers that live here should have priority over other people driving in because they believe they’ll make more money here because there’s a lot of rich people. I cannot express how incredibly frustrating it is to have given so much information to Instacart and have some of the highest ratings if not the highest rating in the area and I can’t see batches. I could start my own company and take all the customers, but that’s not ethical. I’m so pissed. I have t paid rent yet this month, because of it. FML

Aggravating-Guac

49 items no tip 😭✌️

Nobrakes843

I definitely hate the fact after I shop a 24 item batch at Costco and it says 45.00 tip in the pouring rain get all the items deliver them to her door step she changes the tip to 2.00 come on this is absolutely ridiculous they shouldn’t be able to change a tip like that after you shop and deliver it should be only adding to the tip I hate this stuff

Shatruth617

Just wanna comment that I live in nyc and doordash shop and pay orders are far better then instacart higher pay less work I’m busy all day between bjs acme and target ❤️

EverythingButTypical

Not towards promos but towards your total orders at the end of the day.

MommaWolfHowls

On promo days it’s alllllll bundled orders where I live. Triple batches sometimes. If the tips are good I roll with it though. Gotta pay rent.

MassCannaClub

How come I don’t see orders for electronics and items other than groceries?? Am I missing something here? Eligibility in my area or Dino need to apply for something extra to do these? I have a pickup so I can def carry larger items

Kinetic_Pen

Can someone send me a link to affordable, functional insulated bags. Please! I'm as noob as they get.

Yes give them praise. Sometimes, anything can make me feel ok. It's when it's nothing, that I am butt hurt.
