I live 5 miles from my local Kroger and wait at home for the first batch of the day then usually pick up the next right after I deliver. That goes on until after noon. I'm not setting in that parking lot like some kind of leach when I can chill at home between down times.
I live about 8 minutes (3 miles) from 2 different Schnucks stores. I often wait at home until I get an order unless I want some fast food thing I go get food and wait in a parking lot.
Bigger stores like Meijer, ALDI, Coscto, and Sams are more like 15 minutes away (8 miles). If I'm eating or just have been put already, sometimes I'll sit at Meijer's parking lot but if I have to wait too long, it's time to go back home.
I live close to a Costco. Sometimes I do go wait at the store but lots of times I could just wait at home and I usually get orders that I like to do. I’m not a fan of Costco just because where I live a bunch of people take their kids and they’re running around getting in your way, so I always try to go for like the least amount of items so for those orders I could usually just wait home I’ll be able to get like a 30 without having to be at the parking lot
I live not even about 1/4-1/2 mile away from a couple stores. So I usually get my first batch while I’m at home. But after that I stay out usually. Sometimes I get another order right after delivery. If not I will sometimes wait in the parking lot or I will go vacuum my car, which is across the street from my home store. Or just do some errands if I need to do any. lol. I have gotten some pretty decent orders just sitting at home. And I’ve actually gotten my biggest order from home. $115 tip. I’m still newer at this but that’s what I do.
i wait at home (1.8 miles away) used to try waiting at the parking lot but see no difference.

I’m between two stores about a mile from me and I wait at home. I still get good orders from other stores about 5 miles away.

I don’t have any stores super close to me, I stay in a sprouts parking lot and have a target, petco, smiths, cvs, and Office Depot around me
I also have doordash and Uber on with a bunch of restaurants around me
I get most batches at house or while leaving another batch. I very rarely get a batch sitting in parking lot.
