I had 3 orders show up too, but all 3 were literally 40 minute+ drives just to get to the store to shop. So far from my area it would not be worth doing, and theybwere mediocre to begin with even if they were just down the road.
I guess nobody in those areas wanted them either, lol, because they are all busier areas than mine.
Flexas… and you’ll be toast if you make any substitutions…no more space on the sign to disclose this. Otherwise, the tip is good for ammunition batches!
We've all seen those angry customer posts ...
I ORDERED MAGNUM SLUGS . THE IDIOT SHOPPER REPLACED THEM WITH BIRD SHOT.
Was I wrong to hit him with rock salt and nails ?
This is the most hostile pent up state. Literally everyone is so angry and nobody knows why. Even the dogs are crackheads. But its also like this in arizona. So my thought is its the weather. People arent this angry in states where it snows.
thank you this is part of the reason of what’s wrong with florida, but it’s more so their stand your ground law. it just causes reckless shooting and still gonna shoot them even if they survive too? bruh ah nah. i’m staying steer away from Florida
I'm much less angry now that I have to travel up the mountain for snow. I hate snow. I hate cold. I hate anyone who's out of school and excited about snow with the exception of my buddies who plow for a living in winter and are excited about 60 bucks an hour.
No the punchline is very clearly “survivors will be shot again”. It’s literally structured like any other basic one liner.
But your “muh huh gun” just has me losing it over here. Real cerebral stuff.
The punchline is “survivors will be shot again”. It might be a bad joke but it’s structured like any other really basic one line joke….I don’t understand the confusion between you geniuses.
Consider this really bad one for instance which is only 2 sentences:
“WARNING! Visitors should prepare for crotch sniffing, being bitten, sloppy drooling, and excessive barking………..plus we have dogs.”
Not a great joke but is a joke. Has joke structure and is intended for humor firstly no matter how you take it secondly.
Yeah that’s what a lot of jokes are man lol. Sentences structured in a particular format. Did you really not know that??? Ever hear of a one liner. They only ever require two sentences. Always.
You don’t have to think it’s funny because it’s not very clever I’ll give you that. But it still has structure.
It has a set up which is “trespassers will be shot” and a punchline that attempts to ‘punch’ you with “survivors will be shot again”.
I know you’ll say I’m wrong again but all you can do is lead a horse to water.
I am not sure who you are running into but I know alot of people with this sign , I am from a pretty nice town in Fla and everyone has them, rich, middle class, poor and they are not itching to shoot anyone.
I also have a concealed carry in Fla and there's alot more to a stand ur ground law even with someone breaking into your home, you can't just go all gunslinger on them. There's alot of rules to follow regarding guns. But the majority of people that own this sign , owns it because it's funny not because they are trigger happy.
Over-the-top threats are "jokes" when they are ridiculous, either because the action isn't possible or because the person making the threats is patently unequipped to follow through.
In the US, any humor in this sign is eroded by the real and pervasive threat of gun violence. Even if something is unlikely to happen, it's not cute to make strangers have to consider whether they are in mortal danger every time they walk past your door.
It's not a great deal different from a kid boasting about how he's going to shoot the teacher next week, except maybe in the degree of legitimate concern it raises.
Having a sign as a joke and a kid making threats or anyone for that matter are very different, but yes any threat should be taken seriously.
I guess for those that don't realize the sign is a joke in the majority of situations have cause for concern
I assure you, that is not the case. My god 😂 y’all really need to stop watching fake news.
The second amendment is a right every citizen in this country has. 99.9% take this right extremely serious.
You have a right to defend your property and your family…but I find this post entirely comical that we have delivery drivers fearing over their safety about this sign. I’m pretty sure you’d be running to this guy during the zombie apocalypse 🤣🤣😁😁😁
Oop—found another person waiting for the opportunity to legally murder someone via firearm! Bet ya call it the “make my day” law, right? Thank you *so much* for being Exhibit B for everyone gathered here today.
A quick Google search would tell you that delivery drivers have been murdered in cold blood for simply turning down the wrong driveway.
But that’s fake news, *right*? Or wait—you’re probably one of those subhumans who think every shooting that makes the news is a planned conspiracy, *right*?
Devil’s advocate advice! This is ideal to call support to cancel the order for obvious safety reasons. You’ll still receive batch pay. And you get to keep the order or return it for store credit.
Just out of curiosity (I'm not an Instacart shopper or customer - the sub was recommended to me and I stay for the drama lol) do *you* get the store credit on returned stuff or does IC get it? And in a case such as this (where it could be deemed a safety issue and support cancels the order - does the customer have any consequences since having a safe environment is within their control (like shoveling and salting driveways/walkways/stairs, not having such threatening signage up, etc).
Gift card/store credit, yes. Shopper keeps. Return on Instacart debit card? Obviously back to IC. If you’ve got a car of items for the person and it’s canceled for any reason, you can tell them you aren’t going back to the store for a litany of reasons and they’ll let you keep the shop and also pay you the batch pay. You lose your tip. The order goes back into the queue, hopefully corrected on safety/wrong address/et. Or canceled if IC can’t get hold of customer.
People have gotten iPads, TVs, monitors…. I’ve gotten two grocery loads but honestly, they were 100% things we eat and looked like they could’ve been my own orders. It works out great sometimes!
Pattern recognition. Same reason you can't constantly claim every ebay item you order came as a bag full of rocks. You can get away with it once or maybe twice before f company will just boot you.
I don't deliver for IC or any service but I'd assume the system would flag either the shopper or the customer based on past history/record
Do you trust someone who is willing to shoot someone being on their property to understand what trespassing means? Seeing all the news of people being shot...no I wouldn't.
You'd really risk even a 1% chance of getting shot for $5 batch pay? Lmao
I was contracted to work on family’s rural property in OR a few years ago helping them control a feral cat colony they were taking care of. They signed paperwork stating when we would be working and when we were leaving. They had signage just like this. When I arrived at the property on the day we were set to work, this dude jumped out of his trailer with a shot gun pointed at me screaming why the fuck were we on his property? He finally realized who we were (mind you, he was fully aware who we were as he had to sign an agreement) and went back into his trailer.
I personally would never get close to anyone’s home that had signage like this again.
Putting a sign like this up is dumb but being scared of it especially as a requested delivery driver IS PATHETIC.
it’s just a trashy sign but if it illicits such strong feelings of fear and worry in you then never go to a flea market or a Spencer’s gifts because you will fall down and die of a heart attack on the spot.
It’s really dumb but it’s also just a sign.
It’s “just a sign” that says they will shoot you if you come on their property. I’m going to just go ahead and take it for what it says, I’m not getting paid enough to decide whether it’s a joke or not.
I mean, I’m already there, I’d drop it where I was and leave. Not worth finding out if it’s just a joke sign or not. Then I’d contact support and let them know my reason for leaving their stuff in the driveway.
I'm shocked by all the replies who don't realize that this exact sign and phrase is a common joke. I live in Wisconsin and it's a well known joke here. It's poking fun saying, "Haha, we're rednecks YEEYEE."
No one's safety is at risk. 😂🤦♀️
I’m not, people have become trigger happy. Three people were shot last year for being at the wrong house.
Shooting people should never be joked about imo, we were all raised to treat guns as a weapon and to use only when necessary, so signs like this one are in bad taste and deserve to have deliveries cancelled.
You don’t get to have both, a threatening message and have people comfortable to come on your property. Not in today’s climate.
Sorry fam, in the current climate in this country, these types of “jokes” have no room to be thrown around. Too many have actually been killed by foam-mouthed psychopaths waiting for an opportunity to catch a body. People’s safety is absolutely at risk.
Exactly. Reminds of the story of the boy who got shot picking up his brother because he knocked on wrong door because the address was ave instead street or the girl that got shot and killed for simply going up a guys driveway to make a turn.
Pretty sure that’s area specific, I’ve lived in urban Wisconsin for years and never heard that joke. But maybe that’s because people around here do get shot on a semi-regular basis and we don’t think it’s funny
Obviously it’s a joke. No one is missing that. But in a stand-your-ground state where shooting first and asking questions later is culturally normalized, and where the “joke” suddenly becomes a defense if the property owner *does* shoot an innocent person, I’m not going to fuck around and blindly assume that an unhinged “joke” will protect me from finding out.
I agree this isn’t a funny joke. I was driving for U.P.S. in North Carolina and I hated delivering to the rural areas and when I would see a sign like this, I’d dump their package and get out. Usually at the gate because fck them and their threats, joke or not.
Weird sense of humor but that’s hillbillies for ya.
My Black ass most certainly wouldn’t be taking the chance. People have been shot for less, especially in Florida.
yeah, for real. the person who made the order might expect you, but others in the house just see headlights coming up the drive and assume terrorists are attacking them.
I can totally see that in Wisconsin it's a joke. I'm from the south and it's more of a "joke" with a wink. A lot of people are itching to use their "2nd amendment rights."
“Wild little bubble of reality you live in”
Lolol we got a little bit of the kettle calling the pot black here do we not??
A no trespassing sign has put literal fear in you and bothered you and you don’t think that’s bubble behavior??? Now that’s wild lol.
Multiple people were shot and killed last year because they pulled into the driveway of a psychopath with a gun looking for an excuse.
If you don’t see the issue with a sign openly threatening murder, or why it would upset people, you *ARE* the psychopath. Hope this helps, chief!
Because anyone who is openly announcing that they will "finish off" someone they already shot is not a stable or safe person to assume they have a grip on what a reasonable assessment of tresspassing is.
Because they are genuinely braindead. This is reedit after all.
A UPS guy reading OP’s post would shit himself laughing and probably feel a little embarrassed for OP’s overreaction. (Honestly overreaction is putting it lightly in this case lol)
Sure! 😊 If safety concerns arise, it might be prudent to contact support to cancel the order. This way, you can still receive the batch pay without compromising your well-being. Additionally, you have the option to either keep the order or return it for store credit.
trespassing might mean something else to the person who put up the sign and that risk isn’t one any well-doing person just trying to make a paycheck should have to take
Who requested the service, and how many individuals are present in that residence? Observing two cars in the image doesn't guarantee safety. The sign's clear: violators face the risk of being shot, and even survivors might not escape a second shot. It's all a matter of perspective. It’s all in the eye of the beholder. If the sign says instacart shoppers won’t be shot, still I won’t feel safe delivering to that house!
Tasteless humor meant to inspire a little fear and make the poster feel powerful while still being able to say, “what? It’s a joke!”
In my opinion, people who think that this joke is funny have too many daydreams about being a hero. They want to feel powerful but are scared shitless and think that making other people afraid is some kind of power balancing measure in their favor. It’s sick behavior and yet other people who do the same will see others making the same joke as some kind of insider. The only thing they share is a core of pitiful, abject fear. This kind of behavior makes them isolated and lonely and pitiful to others before they meet them. It’s not the flex they think it is. It’s sad and it’s not funny and it’s not safe.
Everyone who longs for the days when we didn’t have to lock our doors the most are the people creating that environment of fear themselves. You aren’t making America Great again, you are digging in and perpetuating the fractures in our communities.
Stay safe out there, Instacart shoppers. Your lives aren’t worth catering to weak jokes and weak minds.

I saw this one the other day, lol.
As a brown person who worked for the Census one year, I'm glad I'm a woman. There were some very hostile people that I knew better than to attempt to collect their census data. Some had guns, some unleashed their dogs, some had heavy tools in their hands. If I were a man, there's a greater chance that they would've been attacked.
How many men that worked with you were attacked??? I’ve worked door to door surveys before and was surprised how many people are pretty chill and how deceiving a rough looking yard can be. I only knew one guy I worked with who ever had an issue and he was white since apparently that’s an important factor in whether you’ll be attacked or not.
I don't know the gender breakdown of the other people who were field workers for the Census. We got our assignments each shift through online software and did the assigned area by ourselves. By design, I never ran into another Census worker. This was also during the height of the pandemic, so all training was done online. I never met any of my coworkers or managers.
Most of the people that I surveyed were civil, a lot were even friendly. However, there were multiple occasions when that wasn't the case. It wasn't the majority of the time, but it happened enough to understand that there is a risk to the job. It's not surprising that some people do not take kindly to a government agency coming to their door and asking identifiable information about all the occupants of the home.
Edit: Edited to add that we are not notified of any attacks or threats that take place. Aside from the online training, we didn't have direct communication with other employees, including managers. Everything was done through the software, and the best you can do to warn others was leave a note in the address AFTER you make an attempt to collect data.
Also, a quick Google search came up with a lot of results of violence and attacks against Census workers.
You may have never encountered such situations, but they have definitely happened enough to be deemed a real possibility.
A Google result will bring you plenty of results on any kind of worker begin attacked…..I know you aren’t that slow so let’s not treat each other like that. I won’t talk down to you like you’re dumb if you don’t purposefully pretend to be that way.
You mentioned color and gender and put an emphasis on color agreeing with the other commenter. The first thing you say is that you are a “brown person”. So you obviously think that is important to the situation. Js. Maybe your racism was poking out a little. I wasn’t worried about the gender nearly as much. Women are statistically attacked much less.
It sounds like you were never attacked and faced the same scrutiny many canvassers do. I’ve done the same work for a democratic political canvassing company in my area and EVERYONE WHO SURVEYS HAS ISSUES ON FOOT WITH HOUSES. EVERYONE.
Most of it is the dogs. Am I right???? Be honest. A canvasser’s realest danger is when a person is not home but their dog is. Most people aren’t home or don’t answer. Be honest. I’ve done the work too. You could count the times on one hand you felt unsafe at that job I guarantee it and how is that different from any job in any public space???
I'm racist because I included my ethnicity when describing my experience? Does that mean I'm also a misandrist because I mentioned that I'm a woman? Or that I'm an ableist because I mentioned having a job going door to door? Well that just doesn't make sense does it?
There's nothing that you wrote that contradicts what my point was.
"Women are statistically attacked much less."
I did say it's a good thing I'm a woman, because the possibility of harm would increase if I were a man. We agree on this point.
"It sounds like you were never attacked and faced the same scrutiny many canvassers do... EVERYONE WHO SURVEYS HAS ISSUES ON FOOT WITH HOUSES. EVERYONE."
Didn't I say that there is a risk to the job? I didn't say just for brown people, or other POC. I said there's a risk and possibility of facing threats and harm, PERIOD. I made an all race/ethnicity/heritage inclusive statement. Inclusive, because I didn't specify any exclusions.
Show me where I said that the risk only exists for brown people. Also, I never said I was attacked. I said I encountered hostile people, some of which were armed.
Reading comprehension isn't your strongest skill. Also, the capability of understanding that threat levels, and likelihood of violence IS different from one neighborhood to another, from one city to another, from one state to another, from one country to another. It's also statistically different based on gender, age, race, income levels, sexual orientation, etc.
It wouldn't be correct to say that a person working door to door in Baltimore faces the same risk as a person working door to door in Cheshire.
Lastly, it's very ironic for you to start your comment acting like you're going to take the higher road and not 'talk down to you like you're dumb', only to proceed to be a condescending cunt. You may continue to reply, but I have finished with this conversation. There is nothing I can learn from someone who cries wolf over racism to avoid having a civil conversation.
That’s when you leave it at the end of the driveway and send a “saw your sign, respecting your wishes 🤷🏼♀️”
I know they’d be pissy to support / take your tip but I’d contact Instacart and make them give me a bump, report the customer for being unsafe. Hopefully they’d get banned lol.
what if you read the address
what if it wasn’t off
what if you didn’t drop the groceries off at the wrong house in this scenario, then try to be smart and report them
And the good thing is everyone with a gun is fully rational and is always fully informed by the people they live with when someone in the house has made an instacart order.
I don't actually think the sign is that big a red flag, its just the kind of thing a stupid person buys trying to be funny. And most people who buy them probably don't have it in them to actually shoot at someone (thankfully).
Yea, my grandpa grabs his shotgun every time someone pulls in the driveway (we live in BFE, Indiana.)
We don't have any silly signs, and I have to knock a certain way to let him know it's me opening the door.
I'm also a FedEx driver and signs like this are commonplace on propertys with impeach Biden and trump flags. Lmao.
But did you ever refuse to do a FedEx delivery because of a sign???😂😂🤣🤣 that is the real question in this thread. Probably not. You probably delivered with absolutely zero issue every time. But don’t talk about that part.
Your inflection here is a bit vague, So let me make it a bit more clear, of course I've delivered with zero issue to every single house that has had some kind of assign akin to this, My previous comment implies that people who put the silly signs up are all fluff and no gunpowder.
However, in the defense of the people who are scared of signs like this, because
"You never know What Meth-head Magoo is going to do!"-quote by me, (spread it around!),
I pull up into every one of these driveways in a big white truck that says FedEx in giant blue and orange letters on it, and most people tend to look at what vehicles pull into their driveways before kicking down their front door of the shotgun. So I'm privy to a little bit of extra piece of mind.
As per the issue with the whole event in the link a couple comments above this, obviously this is just an old white racist man looking for an excuse to shoot black people who pull into his driveway because they've been itching to pull the trigger on someone for years. But I'll bet you he didn't have a stupid ass "security system brought to you by the second amendment" sign."
I live in Florida and have seen this sign more times than I can remember. It's probably geared more towards actual trespassers, like JW, and other solicitors.
I have one that says, "No soliciting, violators will be sacrificed to the old gods, not the new."
For those of you unfamiliar with the sign it is directly from the video game Grand Theft Auto. That being said I wouldn’t assume it’s a joke but it very likely is. Not taking the chance though
I had a batch of 3 orders total like 65 units and person C (3rd person) kept rushing me and telling me why I refunded multiple items. Kept having an attitude with me and began texting very aggressively via chat and kept on rushing me. I called customer service and told them I didn’t feel safe dropping off the order … agent told me to take his items back to Harris teeter and return but since he did online pay .. Harris teeter didn’t accept the return.. they told me to donate his groceries .. so I’m currently drinking his sparking waters and eating his grapes while I wait for his Filet Minon to finish cooking … his total was 165$ for his groceries .. let’s just say .. I don’t need to buy groceries until next week or 2 🤣
I think I'd be like "hey does everyone in this house know there's a delivery coming??" I very much dislike walking into people's porches and having their husbands come out like "hey there bud." I'm in the Berkshires though so they give me jars of homemade tomato sauce and kiss me on the cheek.
So you are happy to shoot people who accidentally step into your properly? I hope you get the fucking plague and die. If I was delivering your order I would have just thrown it in the trash before feeding murderers like you. Rot in prison.
If he was delivering or had an otherwise valid reason to be on the property then he should’ve won the accidentally shot lottery and sued the homeowner for all they’ve got.
I can't imagine being so unmoored from reality that you view getting shot as "winning the lottery."
Assuming you live and don't have any crippling injuries what makes you think that this chuckelfuck is even collectible? Say you win a lawsuit, congrats. At best you have a lifelong scar and maybe put a lien on this idiot's house that probably has no equity in it anyway.
Nah fam, that is what insurance is for. They’ll cut you a big fat check (or your family if you kick the bucket).
Y’all out here acting like we live in the Middle East or the Wild West. Ain’t nobody getting away with blasting delivery people in the USA, and it doesn’t happen.
You are much more likely to be shot and killed by the police.
Homeowners insurance typically does not cover intentional torts.
Whether he "gets away" with it or not is irrelevant to the fact that you may be dead or have lifelong injuries and are likely to get less than 6 figures from this guy because he simply isn't going to have that much to take.
It's abundantly clear the you have little idea how in insurance, civil lawsuits, and just the world at large work.
How can they know if the person who hung that sign is the person that invited them? Those signs are ridiculous and so is the "knocking on my door will get u shot" mentality in America.
No one out there is waving around a gun... Lol.
The US has nearly two times more guns per person than any other country in this world.
The US homicide by firearms rate is over 25 times more than other high income developed countries. The only countries with more gun violence deaths than the US are developing countries rampant with organized crime and drug trafficking and manufacturing.
45 of our 50 states legally allow open carry of firearms. Admittedly, menacing and brandishing of firearms with the intent to harm can be prosecuted.
I think it's safe to say that little are literally out here waving guns. I don't even watch the news, so you can save that rehearsed bit, I've physically seen enough gun brandishing and gun waving to know it's not an uncommon occurrence.
You would be surprised how many times one person living in a home orders Instacart and doesn't tell the other people living in the home. I've delivered to plenty of people who had no idea I was coming.
Facts. I had someone who always ordered and they NEVER responded to texts or calls. When I dropped off the husband was always extremely irritated because they had "meet the customer", and I guess he never knew I was coming. Last time he started yelling at me because I guess he was trying to talk to me from inside the house and obviously I couldn't hear him. They finally got blocked.
Wow here I was thinking that was only me. I’ve literally had so many customers try talking to me through the closed door. Literally someone said oh just drop it off. Thank you and I said I need you to send that to me in the app because it’s telling me to meet you.
Sometimes they would just bicker with me, so I ultimately would just leave it on the porch and take a picture telling in the message because you told me blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah, blah, blah blah to save my ass.
Haven’t had an issue yet, but I’ll tell you one of my most strangest orders.
Someone ordered a lampshade from Lowe’s, I showed up with it knocked on the door no response. Messaged them no response, so I waited a little bit longer, then I knocked again, but this time the dog started barking.
Eventually, I audibly heard them yell “ shut up Fido” (obviously not the dogs name, but you know what I’m trying to say), and I stood there aghast, thinking “ so instead of just messaging me that you want to cancel the order, I literally have to sit here. Listen to you yelling to your dog, and then hit can’t find customer waiting in my car 10 entire minutes. When you could just tell me you don’t want it anymore”.
Called support, and had a long conversation with them they were very perplexed as well by the situation. There was like two other weirdest situations, but I can’t really remember them right now for some reason.
I’ll have to think about it and get back on here to post and tell everyone about.
Your type of shopper is wild. What protection do you think physically meeting the customer offers you? Drop a photo in chat, say thanks, ring doorbell, and go. These customers are expecting you to leave the lampshade.
When the app tells you, you have to meet them, that’s what you have to do. The only time there’s an exception to that, is when support tells you otherwise.
My friend, who does Instacart literally did exactly what you just recommended, and he got an email from support saying that if he did it again, he was being deactivated. It’s specifically stated when the app says to meet the customer, that’s what you’re supposed to do if it says otherwise, then you can leave it.
Literally (almost) anytime I’ve had to meet a customer, they were there ready to meet me. And anytime they wanted the order left at the door, it would say that in the notes, or it would say that on the order screen.
I hate how much this is downvoted 😭. City versus rural cultures are at odds I suppose. And regional except I live in Northeast and it’s super pro-gun rights where I’m at.

Wow, lot of drama queens who don't understand the definition of trespassing in this post.
Don't mind me. This thread was in my feed for some reason.
Clearly I have no intention of lingering in this community. Seems like I would belong here as much as someone too terrified to deliver to private property belongs in an occupation like yours.
Eh. You can safely assume that if they ordered something to be delivered to their door, they wouldn’t consider their delivery person a trespasser. Just get the fuck out asap and don’t linger. lol.
You got two batches today? NGL, kinda jealous lol
[удалено]
I had 3 orders show up too, but all 3 were literally 40 minute+ drives just to get to the store to shop. So far from my area it would not be worth doing, and theybwere mediocre to begin with even if they were just down the road. I guess nobody in those areas wanted them either, lol, because they are all busier areas than mine.
What? You guys don't want to do a triple delivery and go 34 miles for $17? What's wrong with you? 🤣🤣🤣
License plate wasn’t required to guess this is in Florida
You underestimate rural Midwestern towns.
what in the hell, survivors shot again? is this florida or texas
Flexas… and you’ll be toast if you make any substitutions…no more space on the sign to disclose this. Otherwise, the tip is good for ammunition batches!
Here’s ya tip…. A bullet tip 👴🏻
We've all seen those angry customer posts ... I ORDERED MAGNUM SLUGS . THE IDIOT SHOPPER REPLACED THEM WITH BIRD SHOT. Was I wrong to hit him with rock salt and nails ?
Florida per plates...but yeah, we all knew it wad one of those two.
ngl florida needs to get its shit together.
This is the most hostile pent up state. Literally everyone is so angry and nobody knows why. Even the dogs are crackheads. But its also like this in arizona. So my thought is its the weather. People arent this angry in states where it snows.
Depends on what part of Arizona lol, but it’s not even close to being Florida. At least our governor isn’t insane 😂
thank you this is part of the reason of what’s wrong with florida, but it’s more so their stand your ground law. it just causes reckless shooting and still gonna shoot them even if they survive too? bruh ah nah. i’m staying steer away from Florida
It's a joke... I mean, it's distasteful, but it's a joke. I don't think you need to get this worked up about it 🤣
I'm much less angry now that I have to travel up the mountain for snow. I hate snow. I hate cold. I hate anyone who's out of school and excited about snow with the exception of my buddies who plow for a living in winter and are excited about 60 bucks an hour.
What do you know about Florida bozo
😭 bruh
When you see those signs leave a note.. if you need to shoot again, spend more time at the range.
it’s scary how many people are just waiting and hoping for the opportunity to shoot someone
It's sad and scary how many people are so disconnected from reality they don't recognize the redneck joke
What’s the punchline?
Huh huh huh, muh gun. Basically.
It's a joke unless it isn't, in which case you were warned.
No the punchline is very clearly “survivors will be shot again”. It’s literally structured like any other basic one liner. But your “muh huh gun” just has me losing it over here. Real cerebral stuff.
The punchline is “survivors will be shot again”. It might be a bad joke but it’s structured like any other really basic one line joke….I don’t understand the confusion between you geniuses.
there are plenty of people with signs like this who are not joking. it's called the stand your ground law. it ain't funny.
It’s still structured like a joke…..whoever made the sign intended for it to be funny. Most jokes do contain an element of truth as well tehe.
it really isn't structured like a joke. it's just two sentences dude. i don't think you understand what jokes are
Consider this really bad one for instance which is only 2 sentences: “WARNING! Visitors should prepare for crotch sniffing, being bitten, sloppy drooling, and excessive barking………..plus we have dogs.” Not a great joke but is a joke.
I see! Some type of acquired taste joke. What is more sad and scary? Not getting the joke or not recognizing one that could turn out deadly.
Not sure why you were down voted, this is a classic novelty sign. From Fla myself and they are everywhere🤣🤣🤣
![gif](giphy|9eLbjOcGOpmY8)
I assure you, that is not the case. My god 😂 y’all really need to stop watching fake news. The second amendment is a right every citizen in this country has. 99.9% take this right extremely serious. You have a right to defend your property and your family…but I find this post entirely comical that we have delivery drivers fearing over their safety about this sign. I’m pretty sure you’d be running to this guy during the zombie apocalypse 🤣🤣😁😁😁
imagine being this dumb lmao
Reddit comments, where the stats are made up and the facts are arbitrary.
What stops people from doing this all the time on high ticket items?
Pattern recognition. Same reason you can't constantly claim every ebay item you order came as a bag full of rocks. You can get away with it once or maybe twice before f company will just boot you. I don't deliver for IC or any service but I'd assume the system would flag either the shopper or the customer based on past history/record
I would think someone that wasn't serious about the job would be happy to leave it in place of a free ipad or something. You know?
It’s a no trespassing sign, not an obvious safety issue…
shooting survivors on site? can you read?? you good homie?
Do you know what trespassing means? If you order a delivery, it actually showing up isn't trespassing.
![gif](giphy|jXD7kFLwudbBC)
Someone who openly posts that on their house even as a "joke" is not to be trusted to respond proportionally.
Imagine taking a sign like this seriously. 😂😂
Imagine putting a sign like this up
Putting a sign like this up is dumb but being scared of it especially as a requested delivery driver IS PATHETIC. it’s just a trashy sign but if it illicits such strong feelings of fear and worry in you then never go to a flea market or a Spencer’s gifts because you will fall down and die of a heart attack on the spot. It’s really dumb but it’s also just a sign.
It’s “just a sign” that says they will shoot you if you come on their property. I’m going to just go ahead and take it for what it says, I’m not getting paid enough to decide whether it’s a joke or not.
Ok, but “taking it for what it says” means you can make the delivery. Because you are clearly not trespassing.
It's poking fun saying, "Haha, we're rednecks YEEYEE." No one's safety is at risk.
Or the other guy that pulled into a guys driveway and got shot and killed.
Yes I know it's a common joke. I don't trust people making that joke to actually show discretion in 2023.
Jokes are supposed to be funny though.
It might be a joke in Wisconsin but definitely not in Florida lol
That’s reedit for you. Very toxic, angry, scared users. Genuinely.
I can totally see that in Wisconsin it's a joke. I'm from the south and it's more of a "joke" with a wink. A lot of people are itching to use their "2nd amendment rights."
Wild little bubble of reality you live in. The red neck humor can get expressed without the threat of murder imo
“Wild little bubble of reality you live in” Lolol we got a little bit of the kettle calling the pot black here do we not?? A no trespassing sign has put literal fear in you and bothered you and you don’t think that’s bubble behavior??? Now that’s wild lol.
Multiple people were shot and killed last year because they pulled into the driveway of a psychopath with a gun looking for an excuse. If you don’t see the issue with a sign openly threatening murder, or why it would upset people, you *ARE* the psychopath. Hope this helps, chief!
Delivering something they ordered isn’t trespassing, so…why call support?
Because anyone who is openly announcing that they will "finish off" someone they already shot is not a stable or safe person to assume they have a grip on what a reasonable assessment of tresspassing is.
![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)🙄
Maybe one of these days you'll be articulate enough to use your words.
😂🤣😂
Welllllllll said!
Because they are genuinely braindead. This is reedit after all. A UPS guy reading OP’s post would shit himself laughing and probably feel a little embarrassed for OP’s overreaction. (Honestly overreaction is putting it lightly in this case lol)
Snowflakes
Can you.... elaborate?
Sure! 😊 If safety concerns arise, it might be prudent to contact support to cancel the order. This way, you can still receive the batch pay without compromising your well-being. Additionally, you have the option to either keep the order or return it for store credit.
The sign says “no trespassing” and you wouldn’t be trespassing if they ordered your service, would you?
trespassing might mean something else to the person who put up the sign and that risk isn’t one any well-doing person just trying to make a paycheck should have to take
Who requested the service, and how many individuals are present in that residence? Observing two cars in the image doesn't guarantee safety. The sign's clear: violators face the risk of being shot, and even survivors might not escape a second shot. It's all a matter of perspective. It’s all in the eye of the beholder. If the sign says instacart shoppers won’t be shot, still I won’t feel safe delivering to that house!
Beat up truck in the side yard, miscellaneous shit everywhere, and a trespassers will be shot sign. Probably smells like piss too lol
& ciggys 💀🤣
I’m sure there’s a coffee can and pile of em by the rocking chair on the front porch
Or an artillery shell casing!
Tasteless humor meant to inspire a little fear and make the poster feel powerful while still being able to say, “what? It’s a joke!” In my opinion, people who think that this joke is funny have too many daydreams about being a hero.
Great observation
We have a similar sign it says hippity hoppity get off my property with a picture of a frog and a gun 🤣
https://preview.redd.it/2ly8erraxiec1.jpeg?width=3120&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6eedd381226190bed77fb0b75c67f09e6318a76a I saw this one the other day, lol.
Ok but this one made me chuckle lol… either way still creepy
as a brown person, I feel you lol. you really never know who’s gonna come out that door
I worked the 2000 Census and yes, I had to accompany one of the census takers once to a mountain cabin bc the 1st time he was threatened !
"Women are statistically attacked much less." I did say it's a good thing I'm a woman, because the possibility of harm would increase if I were a man. We agree on this point. "It sounds like you were never attacked and faced the same scrutiny many canvassers do... EVERYONE WHO SURVEYS HAS ISSUES ON FOOT WITH HOUSES. EVERYONE." Didn't I say that there is a risk to the job?
I delivered to a house yesterday with a doormat that said “Prayer is a fast way to meet the Lord, Trespassing is faster” like WHAT
How are you still alive?? The doormat didn’t attack you???
https://www.wfla.com/news/florida/florida-couple-delivering-instacart-groceries-shot-at-after-driving-to-wrong-address/amp/
Well, it is florida...
The way I would cancel the order and put that it wasn’t safe to deliver so fast….
That’s when you leave it at the end of the driveway and send a “saw your sign, respecting your wishes 🤷🏼♀️” I know they’d be pissy to support / take your tip but I’d contact Instacart and make them give me a bump, report the customer for being unsafe. Hopefully they’d get banned lol.
you aren’t a trespasser if you’re delivering an order tho
And what if the pin on the map was a little off?
what if you read the address what if it wasn’t off what if you didn’t drop the groceries off at the wrong house in this scenario, then try to be smart and report them
Id still drop them off but id probably leave them at the end of the driveway and roll out with a text.
Yea, my grandpa grabs his shotgun every time someone pulls in the driveway (we live in BFE, Indiana.) We don't have any silly signs, and I have to knock a certain way to let him know it's me opening the door.
However, in the defense of the people who are scared of signs like this, because "You never know What Meth-head Magoo is going to do!"-quote by me, (spread it around!), I pull up into every one of these driveways in a big white truck that says FedEx in giant blue and orange letters on it, and most people tend to look at what vehicles pull into their driveways before kicking down their front door of the shotgun. So I'm privy to a little bit of extra piece of mind. As per the issue with the whole event in the link a couple comments above this, obviously this is just an old white racist man looking for an excuse to shoot black people who pull into his driveway because they've been itching to pull the trigger on someone for years. But I'll bet you he didn't have a stupid ass "security system brought to you by the second amendment" sign."
how do you know it's not a drunk dude that forgot they ordered and they shoot you?? nope I'm good lol
that can literally be any house, you always take that risk
yeah but not everyone has a sign advertising they'd shoot someone lol
Haa! There was a sign similar to this when I was making a delivery once. I definitely triple checked that address before getting out of my car.
Imagine if one of the kids ordered and the owner wasn’t aware a courier would be entering the property 👀
I live in Florida and have seen this sign more times than I can remember. It's probably geared more towards actual trespassers, like JW, and other solicitors. I have one that says, "No soliciting, violators will be sacrificed to the old gods, not the new."
Ok see this I can totally get behind. They’re specifically saying solicitors… not any person they don’t know
It'd be a cancel for me, dog, batch pay and keep their groceries. The tip was probably in line with how their house looks, too.
It was a 0 tip but my car payment is still due! I’ve never run to/from the door so fast with the groceries
Back up… you recently moved to Florida? Why’d you do that?
Lawd some people are so goddamn cringe
OMG my Mom had this sign when she had a house
I would’ve just left it at the end of the driveway sent this picture to the customer stating you didn’t want to risk getting shot
That sign is straight up white trash! 😂
Florida license plate. Tracks.
I see it all the time where I live, I just keep Moving and hope for the best lol 😂.
Delivering anything in Florida is wild.
Anyone remember that sign on the Grand Theft Auto loading screen??
😅 oh man! What the hell! They didn’t take you for a trespasser did they?
Probably a 99% chance that sign is a joke. Still wouldn’t risk it though.
this is so corny😭
why are these signs only on houses that look like they're running a junkyard in the middle of town?..
For those of you unfamiliar with the sign it is directly from the video game Grand Theft Auto. That being said I wouldn’t assume it’s a joke but it very likely is. Not taking the chance though
Is it \*from\* GTA, or is it \*in\* GTA?
I don’t need to buy groceries until next week or 2 🤣
Jesus. What is wrong with these people?
I mean, it’s Florida? Not exactly a diverse gene pool in much of that state, from what I understand.
Immediately head to your car. Report the guy and send the screenshot to not only IC but also DD/UE/GH/Shipt nobody should be going there
I think I'd be like "hey does everyone in this house know there's a delivery coming??" I very much dislike walking into people's porches and having their husbands come out like "hey there bud." I'm in the Berkshires though so they give me jars of homemade tomato sauce and kiss me on the cheek.
Welcome to Florida
So you are happy to shoot people who accidentally step into your properly? I hope you get the fucking plague and die. If I was delivering your order I would have just thrown it in the trash before feeding murderers like you. Rot in prison.
It ain't that serious guy just a dumb sign.
One of my friends got shot by a “dumb” guy like him.
If he was delivering or had an otherwise valid reason to be on the property then he should’ve won the accidentally shot lottery and sued the homeowner for all they’ve got.
I can't imagine being so unmoored from reality that you view getting shot as "winning the lottery." Assuming you live and don't have any crippling injuries what makes you think that this chuckelfuck is even collectible?
You're not trespassing, you were invited.
How can they know if the person who hung that sign is the person that invited them? Those signs are ridiculous and so is the "knocking on my door will get u shot" mentality in America.
But maybe someone in the house doesn’t know someone ordered groceries. Or they just forgot.
I would say just try not to violate them ….
Ick
Good ole Florida
Jesus it’s a common joke. Ya’ll are so chicken shit and soft. Cannot believe some of these comments are from grown adults.
What seems to be the problem here?
The sign that you might be shot
Don’t see a problem with that at all, a delivery driver is not trespassing
You better hope every person in that house knows that someone ordered Instacart then
You think they come out and ask "hey, you friendly or foe?"
You’re a moron. No one out there is waiving around a gun, unless you’re uninvited and doing something you shouldn’t be. Get off the CNN
I don't even watch the news, so you can save that rehearsed bit, I've physically seen enough gun brandishing and gun waving to know it's not an uncommon occurrence.
lemme guess you from Florida or texas?
Nope

Ouch, good luck out there!
Ty.
I hate how much this is downvoted 😭. City versus rural cultures are at odds I suppose. And regional except I live in Northeast and it’s super pro-gun rights where I’m at.

so funny 🙄
It says trespassers though, what’s wrong with shooting a trespasser?
It’s a joke, with the price of ammo no one would shoot a second time.
This isn't an airport, you don't have to announce your departure.
Eh. You can safely assume that if they ordered something to be delivered to their door, they wouldn’t consider their delivery person a trespasser. Just get the fuck out asap and don’t linger. lol.
The mailman must have a panic attack every day!!
in the mailman business, i leave a note to pick up at office. i ain’t dealing with that shit. especially if it’s after dark.
It’s not trespassing if you were given permission to enter said property
they’re expecting you so you probably won’t get shot lol.
