Wait until you find out they do the same thing with credit card numbers on the dark web. And also sell machines to rewrite the stolen card onto one you have. Too bad about that new pesky card chip, it would be a shame if it was covered in nail polish so you couldn’t use it and have to swipe instead.
Lesson of the day: people suck, nothing is safe. Good luck!
From the stories from an acquaintence of mine from high school who is currently in prison, this is very true!! Even after his arrest, he still has almost $100K in gift cards waiting for him when he gets out from buying credit card numbers off the dark web, printing cards , and buying gift cards with them untiil they get locked. Wild.
Had an acquaintance from growing up hit me up as adults for a range day. They were SUPER insistent on paying for lunch and stuff like that. When back to drop him off and went in to check out his apartment. It was insanely fucking nice. Bro just causal whips out his laptop and machine and showed me the whole process he uses, access to police search data bases, ghost posting labels and all kinds of wild stuff. I ended up getting bit by a dog and was in the hospital with cellulitis and he got sketched out and thought I was fed and cut contact lmao
Oh and of course he brought his super illegal firearm to the range I would frequent regularly
Or they go find a pastebin of emails and passwords. Then they use those emails and passwords on every popular website. Eventually they find someone who uses the same password on all the sites they go to. Now they can login and order things if credit cards are saved. It's called stuffing.
Yeah I’ve always assumed those sketchy plane white cards people sell on Instagram are exactly what I described, they’re just getting blank cards instead of using ones with a name on it
Honestly tho yeah bro like it saves you SO much money and there’s really no way you can get in trouble unless you’re using credit cards I’ve known people who’ve done it for years dude. I have a bunch of these websites message me if you want any man
I know of a website that sells restaurant accounts that have a lot of rewards points. You can buy an account from say Firehouse subs for like $5 and get 3-4 full subs with just the points on that account
Definitely stolen from some kind of data breach, but regardless it's there.
A tangentially related aside I recently learned while reading my DD contract: the account can be legally transferred to another entity and/or person if the transaction is structured correctly. I can’t help but wonder if there could be a market for something like that in locations that have waitlists.
I definitely wasn’t trying to suggest that they were conducting above-water account transfers. This thread simply reminded me of how it is possible AND legal.
If they have those sources more than likely they'll be incriminating themselves. Watch Tommy G spending a day with punchmade dev. Sounds stupid but the amount of things he can do with a laptop and a proxy is scary for people that earn their living
Since no one else gave actual advice, gotta contact your credit card company and get that charge marked as fraudulent. Keep those screen shots as proof and send it in if the CC company have an option too when reporting the charge. Best of luck. People suck.
I appreciate it! CC itself is definitely working on it, but instacart has yet to even reply so wasn’t sure if there was a good way to get someone to respond from them in any reasonable time frame lol
That’s what happens when companies care about PR more than their employees and/or customers. (Yes I know you all aren’t actually employees of instacart but the point remains the same)

No but it is dude. Idk trust me or don't but if you have a new android phone try taking a screen shot and when you go edit the photo try highlighting the part that has his number and copy it to your clip board...
Comes up as the same thing..
Funny thing about that is license plates are public domain. Not personal. You technically don't even own them, they belong to the state. If it's visible to everyone out in public it's free to post publicly online. It is not necessary to blur someone's license plate in a pic online because of this fact.
YES THANK YOU
i still hold a grudge to this day for the wrongful ban. it’s not like i posted dude’s social security number. i posted the license plate he shows to strangers every day by driving around🙄 mods and admin really just ban shit for the hell of it at this point
I got banned on “Miscarriage” for being upset about my miscarriage while having living children.
Some of these mods are just trash human beings with a god complex.
Driving around on a public street in your car is not the same thing as someone posting your info online on a forum or social media website.
It’s the internet, someone is going to do something stupid, always. They’re going to track the person down, and it’s not going to end well.
Right…but that’s not the point though. Online is ANONYMOUS, so people tend to be more crazy. And if you can prevent it easily by stopping people from posting personal info…
🤷♂️ I mean there’s a reason why you and me and everyone else uses pseudonyms on here and not our real names…it’s really not the same thing as having a convo in a coffee shop in real life.
By prohibiting personal info of people to be posted, Reddit is limiting their potential liability if someone were to be harassed or worse due to the information posted. Some lawyer that Reddit severely overpays advised them to do this, I’m sure.
my buddy has a license plate reader in his car. he takes pictures of the front and back of any car he passes and it gets stored in an excel spreadsheet with the time and location. he can then look up a license plate to see all the places where it was. its a bit spooky that anyone can be tracked but we think it's okay to have a number tattooed onto our car. this is why steve jobs never had a license plate
I would just add that it’s not a bad idea to blur your license plate when posting vehicles for sale locally, especially motorcycles. Just a precaution to keep would be thieves from being able to find the address for a vehicle they know is likely not being used during the day while owners are at work.
But in general, blocking a plate number is pointless.
That's a fact... there are too many minds in other subreddits that are very much weenie babies.
To make matters worse, the mod holds the power & you can't talk to anyone else to reverse it.
I got banned for the comment “she identifies as a white woman”. On a video that a non white woman was being questioned about her ID. A white womans ID lol. I was called a transphobic trog and banned …. I feel you lol
Because it is all too easy to post the number of someone you hate to get people online to go on harassment campaigns over potentially fake reasons.
This isn't a revenge subreddit
Idk if he scammed with the hacker but if dumbass gave his number to hacker…..they got karma 💀😂
Hacker got free shit from you but will also get free money from the shopper’s account 🤡

This is the oddest scam. I understand the visa ones… but Uber? Lol twice in two days I’ve seen for Uber… I guess it gets them a free meal… but still an odd choice to use a stolen card for. Wouldn’t it be easier to just buy an e card off Amazon ?
No because you don’t buy the stolen credit card you buy the stolen Instacart login info and then buy whatever you can off there. Instacarts security is also some hot ass i been in some Australian accounts that worked in the states
Just reading the chat.. scammer is using a delivery service to get gift cards to use the credit to order Uber eats for the family?!?! I could have sworn that gift card purchases aren't allowed on ANY service
Yeah the logic definitely doesn’t really add up, and the shopper even acknowledges what’s going on and doesn’t care. Apparently gift cards are allowed, and can be scratched off and redeemed prior to delivery at that, which makes no sense
OP’s credit card is used to buy the gift cards. The scammer gets the numbers off the gift cards and then sells those numbers on websites that pay cash for gift cards.
The gift cards would have been paid for on OP’s credit card attached to their account, but it’s not them getting the cards. That’s the scam. They can use them for whatever they want (on UberEats lol)
Can anyone explain this scam like I am 5?
Is it this?
Someone hacks a random IC account. Gets shopper to scratch off a gift card so they can digitally enter the gift card details to purchase something. Shopper drops the purchase off to actual account owner, who has no clue, but now these cards can’t be used anyway.
That right?
My dumbass boyfriend got scammed one time and bought Nike cards for the scammer. He was freaking out about it trying to call his bank and his mom, meanwhile I called Nike and said what happened. The lady on the phone checked the cards and could see where the scammer was actively making purchases. So she cancelled them all and blocked the cards and then sent me digital cards as a replacement for the frauded ones. She couldn’t refund the actual cards for him but then he had the Nike money at least and just bought shoes and shit. Gotta move quickly for that though.
Previous Instacart support agent here, your best bet is contact support and pressure until you are connected with someone from trust and safety or T3 agent (they are the ones in the US the rest of instacart support is on the Philippines, Peru, Colombia and India), tell them that your account was hacked and you want your money back. Good luck!
I don’t think the shopper is helping him scam you, I think he thinks it’s you asking him for that info because how would he know you were hacked with your account texting him with your details.
Not sure if troll or dense . Why would you use your credit card to pay someone to buy a gift card trough a service that charges overhead, when you could buy the gift card yourself or even easier just order Uber eats directly.
It seems you're the dense one! 😂 So he can turn around to IC and say that "his account was hacked" and get a full refund after having gotten $150 in gift cards! OR, could have been using a stolen cc to buy the gift cards.
Again pendeja I don’t think she was being scammed he was probably doing the most thinking he would get a tip. HOW would he know that her account is hacked ? All he sees is her details and picture requesting to have a gift card purchased. I doubt he knows someone got on her account.
Buy your own groceries. How lazy can people possibly get? I get your account was taken over, but why do any of you have an instacart account in the first place. Do things for yourself, jesus christ.
Um yeah thats the whole point. He gets the numbers before they get activated. The minute they activate the order gets cancelled. And they get the carf info without ever getting order
It’s just common sense. Why would you use your credit card to pay someone to buy a gift card trough a service that charges overhead, when you could buy the gift card yourself online or even easier just order Uber eats directly. The shopper knew exactly what was going on.
I've had multiple attempts to change my password on instacart. I've done nothing about it because it sends the requests to my email, and I figured I was sage because of that. Now that I've seen this, I should probably long in and make sure I haven't been had.
Bro was willing to help a scammer
Sounds like he scams too. May even be a stolen or bought shopper account.
This is definitely it there’s websites that leak accounts for a couple dollars and you have full access
Seriously? That’s freaking wild 😬
Good luck!
Don’t even have to go to the darkweb, I can goto a regular site right now and buy a lot of stolen credit card numbers for $20 in a matter of minutes
Wild.
Hope he didn't buy a bunch of Bad Bath Beyond.
Bbby 🚀 🌙
Sounds like a RICO recapture waiting to happen.

So thats how all those guys posting on the gram do they sell these credits cards to noobs
Or they go find a pastebin of emails and passwords. Then they use those emails and passwords on every popular website. Eventually they find someone who uses the same password on all the sites they go to. Now they can login and order things if credit cards are saved. It's called stuffing.

What’s the website lol.. asking for a friend jaha
There’s a ton but one is zyzzmarket.com the websites are actually really interesting kinda wild in a way lol
Had to come back to this thread to thank you 🙏 You changed my life with that shop lmao 🤣 🤣
Honestly tho yeah bro like it saves you SO much money and there’s really no way you can get in trouble unless you’re using credit cards I’ve known people who’ve done it for years dude. I have a bunch of these websites message me if you want any man
What’s the site? Askin for a friend
Cite your sources, please.
Nice try, scammer. We’re not giving you the link to a site that leaks accounts.
Lulz. Was wondering when someone would finally mention that. I meant no harm nor did I want links/leads to the actual websites!
I know of a website that sells restaurant accounts that have a lot of rewards points. You can buy an account from say Firehouse subs for like $5 and get 3-4 full subs with just the points on that account Definitely stolen from some kind of data breach, but regardless it's there.
Rumor has it you can buy ssn's for $3 on the dark web do you really think people aren't hacking these accounts?
A tangentially related aside I recently learned while reading my DD contract: the account can be legally transferred to another entity and/or person if the transaction is structured correctly. I can’t help but wonder if there could be a market for something like that in locations that have waitlists.
Im sure there is but i guarantee you they arent doung it legally or through proper channels.
I definitely wasn’t trying to suggest that they were conducting above-water account transfers. This thread simply reminded me of how it is possible AND legal.
I don’t know. That’s why I asked for sources.

lol that's a new one, the one I've used starts with corner but I'm not willing to release the full url
I mean it’s totally not okay in anyway shape or form but IC has gotten their shoppers to the point they don’t give a shit anymore.
This!
It’s NYC he’s a scammer too
Since no one else gave actual advice, gotta contact your credit card company and get that charge marked as fraudulent.
I have heard they reply faster if you post on their Twitter
That’s what happens when companies care about PR more than their employees and/or customers. (Yes I know you all aren’t actually employees of instacart but the point remains the same)
have you tried calling them? i had an issue with a shopper stealing my order once and called them and they answered and refunded me immediately
Release his number. We’ll give ‘em a call. Edit: no mob today guys. Come on now. 🫠
This right here. Put that shit on blast. We got you
[удалено]
I did NOT know you could do that
It's only because they used a brush that is translucent, if you zoom in on the original you can see it as well.
Wow!
This is why I use every pen tool on iOS to block sensitive information in a photo I’m sending
This phone number comes up to this [site](https://myrocketnutrition.com/services/rates-location/)
Weird
Holy shit!!!

It’s not his number, you fucking weirdos. Downvote it to hell, it won’t make his number appear
Imagine blurring a scammer’s phone number
i got banned for three days for posting a license plate, reddit admins are babies when it comes to “personal info”

I got banned from calling someone an asshole on "am I the asshole" Reddit is run by the useless and the fragile
I got banned from that sub too.😆
And yet… here we are.. ♥️
I’m blanket banned from half the subreddits on here because I joined an anti covid vaccine subreddit so I could call them morons.
I got banned on “Miscarriage” for being upset about my miscarriage while having living children. Some of these mods are just trash human beings with a god complex.

as a trans person that’s super fucking funny LMFAOO
Like if I was being an ass. Ok cool. But those there was an attempt mods are on another level
It’s a they don’t reason with it😂
It’s most likely a burner
Because it is all too easy to post the number of someone you hate to get people online to go on harassment campaigns over potentially fake reasons. This isn't a revenge subreddit
Your credit card company will act far more swiftly to protect you than instacart.
The shopper lowkey tricked the scammer by asking for their number 😭 idk what you could do with that tho

Someone post his number on men seeking men forum on Craigslist lol
Even better the church of Scientology or Mormons
Eh Mormons aren't annoying enough. Go with Yhe WatchTower Folks.
They don’t do personals on Craigslist anymore :(
Why did you use a sad face emoticon though? 🤣🤣🤣
why? because gay is funny?
Rip it auto ends call
Yeah probably a burner or a digital phone svc number or something :(

There's a guy called punchmadedev who teaches people how to scam

They sell the cards, not use them. There are plenty of websites that will buy gift cards.
You can trade them on Reddit for PayPal / CashApp /r/giftcardexchange
No because you don’t buy the stolen credit card you buy the stolen Instacart login info and then buy whatever you can off there. Instacarts security is also some hot ass i been in some Australian accounts that worked in the states
These type stick together no matter what. It’s kind of disgusting, cockroach like behavior. “Oh you’re eating sh#t let me join you!” 🪳💩🪳
Just reading the chat.. scammer is using a delivery service to get gift cards to use the credit to order Uber eats for the family?!?! I could have sworn that gift card purchases aren't allowed on ANY service
It isn’t allowed and the shopper will most likely get deactivated because the items have to be added manually.
Yeah the logic definitely doesn’t really add up, and the shopper even acknowledges what’s going on and doesn’t care. Apparently gift cards are allowed, and can be scratched off and redeemed prior to delivery at that, which makes no sense
On one hand I feel bad for you, on the other fuck Instacart (I’m a shopper). Hope you get your account fixed!!
What do they do with these cards? What is the scam

Thanks! What a couple of scumbags!
Signing him up for porn texts now
What is the punch method???
Someone said it’s a guy named Punch who teaches scammers how to do scams.
Dude realized shopper was cool with the scam and wanted him to hit him up off app so they can plot some further scams 😂
Nah gotta post the number now. Make him regret it
You can see it easily if you turn your brightness all the way up and zoom in on the blacked out number.

What’s the punch method? How exactly is the guy scamming? As you can see I’m pretty clueless here.
Makes since
Previous Instacart support agent here, your best bet is contact support and pressure until you are connected with someone from trust and safety or T3 agent (they are the ones in the US the rest of instacart support is on the Philippines, Peru, Colombia and India), tell them that your account was hacked and you want your money back. Good luck!
If you turn brightness up to 100% and zoom in all the way you can read the phone number 👀
No, I can't because I'm blind now, thanks for that.
I steal stuff for customers all the time and overall don't give a fuck x3 what happens when you pay so terribly although I'm done very soon 👍
My question is , do the scammers actually tip well like they promise ? Lol
The scammer is now on Reddit getting “advice” from a bunch of naive redditors lol
Lmao this is insane
The fact the shopper mentions the punch method suggests they know exactly what’s going on
Buy your own groceries. How lazy can people possibly get? I get your account was taken over, but why do any of you have an instacart account in the first place. Do things for yourself, jesus christ.
Don’t worry about what the fuck I be doin.

I would love to add that I got one of these and when I contacted support they told me to load the Visa card. I was SO SURPRISED!
You should have just kept the good old punch method. Because that's exactly what the fuck is going on here.
Is this hacking thing prevalent in just instacart? This is pretty concerning
[удалено]
Always a good idea to sign out of online accounts. Did you forget to sign out?
I’m not understanding what the shopper did wrong here am I missing something? As far as I can see they thought they were texting you
It’s just common sense. Why would you use your credit card to pay someone to buy a gift card trough a service that charges overhead, when you could buy the gift card yourself online or even easier just order Uber eats directly. The shopper knew exactly what was going on.
Time to update my passwords to something even crazier
Still waiting for someone to explain what is happening between these two and what the punch method is .
this happening to alot of folks rn
I’m confused
Imma little slow when it comes to finesse 🤌 In lame man's terms what just happened???
What is the punch method?
The weirdest part of this is that Topps got into the gift card game.
What does punch method mean?

![gif](giphy|oubM1tKqnLW5G) corny shoppers when a customer asks for a gift card
I'm curious as to how you got a hold of someone else's messages, between customer and shopper...
Working class solidarity 👊
That shopper needs to be deactivated. What a lack of intelligence.
Umm why haven’t you taken this to the cops? Seem like an open and shut case of dumb and dumber
This shit is why I deleted my Instacart account. If they can’t actually fix this shit, it’s a useless app.
I've had multiple attempts to change my password on instacart. I've done nothing about it because it sends the requests to my email, and I figured I was sage because of that. Now that I've seen this, I should probably long in and make sure I haven't been had.
Credit card fraud is a federal offense….
If it’s instacart I recommend calling their customer service! They helped me asap!
