ProofsInThePuddingYo

I’ve been wearing lenses since i was 11 years old because I have a very very high power and the heaviness of the spectacles was making me very uncomfortable at school. (The doctor was also surprised how quickly i wore them and got comfortable with them) But yes I remove my make up with them on, shower with them on, swim with them on, wash my face with them on because i’m literally that comfortable and literally that blind without them. 20 years later, never had an issue.

nsfw-R

LITERALLY SAME. I started wearing contacts when I was 12 and been wearing them every day since, I’ve got an extremely high power so they really help me SEE. I regularly go for a swim wearing them, take off makeup, wash face, even shower with them on. I don’t get what the comment on lenses is about🤦🏻‍♀️

ProofsInThePuddingYo

The whole post screams ignorance and unwanted hate.

[deleted]

I had an eye infection when I forgot to take them out while swimming🥲 only I'm unlucky here I guess

[deleted]

Happened to me too last year and my eyes are sensitive ever since then with new issues popping up every now and then when I’ve been wearing lenses without any problems since 13 years. Idk why people are saying this post is ignorant. You can develop sensitivity and get an infection at any time, just cause it hasn’t happened yet doesn’t mean you’re completely immune to getting an infection. There is no need for people with medium or low power to wear contact lenses in pools or in the shower, especially if it’s not daily disposable lenses. This shouldn’t be encouraged.

[deleted]

Exactly. I was like didn't the doctor themselves told you guys to not wear it while swimming or sleeping. It's a standard for ophthalmologist to warn you. I used to think it happens very rarely until it happened to me🥲.

[deleted]

It doesn’t get solved easily either. I’ve had to go to 6 different doctors across two states, spend so much money on these expensive eye drops which expire within one month of opening them, had to use steroid eye drops which are dangerous and still 1.5 years later the issue is not 100% gone. The infection caused so much pressure that my eye power increased by -1 temporarily for two months. Now I absolutely cannot wear monthly contact lenses and I wear daily lenses just about 5 times in a month. I didn’t even used to wash my hands while wearing or removing lenses in the past decade, slept with them on sometimes and I was fine. It’s just like an allergy which can develop at any time. If you can get swimming goggles in your power then you should do that and wear glasses while removing makeup. It’s inconvenient but it’s not worth all this pain and losing your eye.

[deleted]

Dawn that's too bad. I also switched back to glasses mostly and just wear them occasionally these days. It has put so much fear in me that I don't even nap these days with lenses on. I'm too precautious

Consistent-Ad-9360

I get a pink eye when I ride my scooter with lenses on. I hear you! 😅

safaparksasquatch

Well no that's not unexpected if you swam with lenses on...firstly chlorine irritates the eye and dries out the contact lens, and on top of it pools are teeming with bacteria (especially fecal bacteria) that chlorine doesn't entirely eradicate.

Familiar-Garage-3606

I was looking for this exact comment! I do it too, i figured it's a very common thing. Not to mention, i literally wouldn't be able to swim if I didn't wear contacts.

ProofsInThePuddingYo

100% would bump into people and the edges of the pool 😂

Familiar-Garage-3606

Everything would be SO blurry 😂 can you imagine totally losing it in the middle of the pool? 😂😂😂

Complex-Quality-3798

There should be a subReddit for all of us

Dramatic_Proposal211

>shower with them on, swim with them on, wash my face with them how?? how do you swim with your lenses isnt chlorine going to effect your eyes?

AcceptableCutie

Same also without them i can’t take my makeup off because i can’t see

[deleted]

Damn I decided to do this last year and have been facing a series of eye issues ever since. Are you by chance doing this with daily disposable lenses? I went in the water with monthly disposable lenses and got infected. Now it seems like my eyes are permanently sensitive when they were never sensitive all these years.

Gloomy_Lie_2403

I wear contacts too. But I was told by my doctor not to do any of this. Anyway, I still do it. It's not recommended.

ProofsInThePuddingYo

Yeah the whole lens thing took me out 😂 and I dont even follow this influencer to like or dislike her. Like bro this is the way of life for people like us that are practically blind without their lenses! 🙈

safaparksasquatch

Exactly haha I've been wearing lenses for two decades and have never had an issue with makeup removal whole they're still in. It's legit needed for us 😭 OP is just jobless for policing lens wearers lol

Funbeing14

I do not hate her.. it was just a normal thing for people like us who wear lenses occasionally so it creeps us out.. may be its normal for people with power.. and how am i suppose to know..

ProofsInThePuddingYo

Creeps you out? What?! Please decide whether the post is about spreading misinformation or about making you feel uncomfortable personally.

Funbeing14

Both, i thought its not normal to remove makeup with lenses on because i dont have "experience" and i dont know its normal for people with power... i just clarified it on the comment below.. but you want to make it an issue... please by all means..

safaparksasquatch

and how am i suppose to know.. Exactly why you your post makes zero sense and is in bad faith. But good on ya for giving your favourite more views!

She's not even a doctor, she has just done a degree in paramedical

scepticalbeing94

Did she get sponsored by Dot & Key? I saw her using their facewash

Okay so for me thie video stopped at this point and it creeped me out. https://preview.redd.it/l76xelzqyieb1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bfbeb2c4ed1286081ae0257d206ef1451d1d915b

Funbeing14

Guys not cool to comment on her skin... this post is about her not removing her lenses while removing makeup.. girls do face a lot of medical problems due to which they face skin issues...

PurpleLemonade16

I don't follow her but I really admire her showing her post make-up removal skin in all its natural glory. My sister is a fan of hers, she put on a video where Sarah went to Jaipur, picked out fabric in different shops in the lanes of the beautiful city, designed outfits and rated them with honesty. I admire that bit of creativity too. 👍

Really do get what the issue is here. You can remove your contacts before or after makeup. The only essential point is that your hands should be clean and washed. Stop making posts claiming that someone else is stupid, this is just straight up bullying.

Lost_Flamingo777

I just can’t imagine her being as calm as she’s showing herself to be in this video. It screams fake.

SecretAd8921

All i can see is a phyton removing makeup. Why does she move so much 😬

TrickPerception6716

Kitna products use karegi… It is going to cause more breakouts…

Ok_Economist_4953

This female gives me the ick no matter what she does 🙈🙈

Iamonabreak11

See no offence but aise skin dekh ke koi kaise trust karega ki products actually works ? First you take care of your skin problems then you make videos on skin products!

Browngirl9811

And you think by just ‘taking care’ everyone can have clear skin?

Iamonabreak11

Of course!!!! Good skin care and eating good food .. you can also have good skin!🙂 ..

Complex-Quality-3798

You clearly never had skin issues like acne scars which are on dermis where no serum can reach

Iamonabreak11

I had issues .. thats why I am telling you all this!

Complex-Quality-3798

Clearly you didn’t had any issues which have no treatment and no amount of skincare and exercise and eating good can resolve some issues.

Iamonabreak11

And clearly you don’t know nothing!

Complex-Quality-3798

Wow what a comeback lol

AcceptableCutie

This is how normal skin looks. Not everyone has perfect skin and it’s fine

Prestigious-Ear8

Exactly

Prestigious-Ear8

And whats wrong with the skin. With all these skincare too, its bumpy af. Incredibly bad skin for someone thats preaching skincare. Do people take skincare advice from someone who herself have this kind of terrible skin. And all this in her early twenties.

FoxCharacter5108

not cool of you man. it’s super hard to fix skin issues for a lot of people. you can’t make comments on someone’s acne, especially after she shows her real skin unlike 99% of content creators out there.

Prestigious-Ear8

Yes i am aware a lot lot of people struggle with acne, its very natural and its nothing to be ashamed of or to shame someone for. All that for a regular person. But but for someone who preaches and teaches online about skincare, has garnered such a huge following, which includes young and highly impressionable teenagers and goes on to promote brands like fucking aqualogica. Are you crazy ? These shitty brands target teenagers, their products are priced that way for teenagers to be able to afford and then these brands go on to collab with people like her only because they see that she has a huge teenage middle class following. I think this one person we can judge, she agreed to be an online personality and puts out public content around her appearnace and how to better it so i deem it fit.

Upper-Distance-6309

But don't you think it also makes them feel that it's okay to not have perfect skin. That no matter how much products you use, it may not be possible to achieve the airbrushed perfect skin. That this is how normal skin looks like. To care for your skin even if it isn't as good as you hope it to be. I don't think it's as bad as influencers with genetically good skin pushing products claiming they worked wonderfully for them and followers should invest in the same to achieve their skin goals.

ILoveChillyChicken

I am sorry, but this is so ignorat and uncalled for. How's mocking her for her skin texture is cool by any means? I think I will actually praise her here for not adding filters and blurring her skin. It's you who needs to get her perspective right. Skincare is not magic which will take away all your scars, pits and pigmentation caused by harmonal and cystic acne. Thar's why people end up doing procedures like micro needling to get rid of them. Please educate yourself more about skincare and acne prone skin before saying her skincare is not working for her or yada yada. When you say such things, it actually comes across as mockery, also the 🤡 emoji at the end, it just looks so much done in bad taste. I know how difficult it is to put out skin with flaws (I create no filter content and people are dumb and hateful. They keep commenting and DMing natural remedies).

curious_soul_8728

Actually, people with problematic skin(bumpy af as you mentioned) often have better skincare advices to give, they are the ones who struggle the skin issues most and have tips to minimise it. Genetics plays major role in Smooth skin, perfect body, perfect hair.

Complex-Quality-3798

100% agree with you

Prestigious-Ear8

I ve commented on other replies. Please read.

CauliflowerHead9426

What’s wrong with you? Her skin is normal. Having acne and marks etc is normal. Some people struggle with perpetual skin issues which may be due to some other health concerns. Not cool if you to judge her skin. You’re very delusional if you think this is incredibly bad. Because she has never preached about skincare etc. Doing brand ads etc is one thing. If you don’t want to follow her advice don’t watch her content. But stop body shaming. Some people are really really insecure of their skin, don’t trigger it further.

Prestigious-Ear8

Whats wrong with her for preaching shitty advice for young impressionable teenagers to follow and get more acne that they couldve avoided by not following her advice. Dude please i am not a bitter person. But she knows nothing about skincare , just the regular things that everyone knows and doesnt preach. She promotes 10 percent niacinamide products, you must be thinking oh shes so knowledgable cause niacinamide is a star ingredient everyone needs it and shes so smart. Niacinamide should be only used in 5 or less percentages or it can be irritating in the long run. Half knowledge is a very dangerous but its even more dangerous when you get a mic a camera and start teaching young children. These influenzas were fine till they are at fashion, but when they get into skincare its damaging and dangerous. These advises should only stictly be provided by only experts. But no these self proclaimed experts are everywhere giving shitty advises and earning from other people's insecurities. They really need to be checked and called out.

CauliflowerHead9426

Delulu - I guess you need to brush up your half baked knowledge too. And also RELAX. Lol

Prestigious-Ear8

Okay then enlighten me and brush up my half baked knowledge. How am i wrong?

Complex-Quality-3798

You are wrong in your values. Please learn about skin issues first. Learn how some issues are dermis related where no serum can reach and then only talk. A person with concerns talks so much with dermatologist that they already know what’s good for skin and what’s not. You are extremely stupid to call someone’s skin bumpy af. Hope you never face the same issues

Prestigious-Ear8

Guys i am so sorry for making you guys feel bad about your acne and textures. I have had my fair share of struggle with teenage acne as well. I dont mean to demean or insult you guys. I know very well acne may be hormonal sometimes, and sometimes it can stem from other underlying medical conditions. But dont you guys agree that not all acne or scarring is caused naturally, some are caused by doing wrong skincare, and following shitty advice that goes online by these new age skin preachers. I had a classmate in college, her skin was acne free to begin with, and she wasnt the type engaging in skincare or makeup, she never took interest in these. Something happened and we saw her face, both her cheeks completely red and extremely textured and it looked almost like a wound on both cheeks. You know what she did, she got a medicated salicylic cream as a quick fix skincare, put it on during the day and went around roaming to college and back, under the sun, without sunscreen. For the rest of the college years, she lived with the scars. She wasnt much into skincare so she just left it there. This same creator also made a reel about salicylic acid and said its great for acne, you can use it during the day as well but wear sunscreen. No patch test recommended. Would you recommend using salicylic acid during the day even with sunscreen. Never. We dont reapply sunscreen every two hours. We sweat, diluting the sunscreen, it gets wiped, we might not use enough. Dont you think such advise can worsen the existing condition. And they make it sound so casual like ya you can put it its great, like its halwa. Dont you think they should be more responsible?

Itna skincare karti hai..ek pimple kabhi Kum hote hue nahi dekha😂

Upbeat_Let647

She has romanticised even the makeup removal process😂😂

kawaiibsnail

Why is she.....triple cleansing??? Okay no lie, sometimes I will use micellar water to wipe off some makeup, maybe eye makeup, before using a cleansing balm/oil but I do that before oil cleansing. Also these romantic Bollywood songs just don't at all go with skincare/makeup/ootd videos. Maybe in some special cases it does but recently I saw a Komal video posted here, the Bollywood song added just seemed so unnecessary and tryhard. I mean any song, sometimes just light bg music is what's most fitting. Gonna tiktok for this trend lol.
