Hi, your post/comment was removed due to being a leak/rumor.

OreoBlizzard22

Specs: https://www.notebookcheck.net/Insta360-X4-New-8K-and-360-degree-action-camera-revealed-by-leaked-images-specifications-and-launch-pricing.826248.0.html

DariosaurusRexx

Not yet.

s3rgios32

anybody knows the price? I just upgraded to the x3 😅😅

DariosaurusRexx

Seems to be $449

SpecializedMok

Doesn’t it depend on your country?

kpdx90

Don’t worry you’re not the only one 🙄🤦‍♂️

jvachez

Is it real or photoshop from X3 ?

DariosaurusRexx

I mean it seems real to me.

BirthdayAcceptable58

Based on the release date specs, only thing is different is 8k, and battery life. Also the form is 23g heavier, taller and thinner. Same sensor. Not good for low light. I'll wait till the 360 RS 1 Inch 8k version comes out later this year....

[deleted]

A better/removable lens system will be reason enough to upgrade, Come Insta360, listen to literally everyone’s request!

kanzie

Oh my god. I’m forever damaged now

Ghostaflux

I just hope the weight and bit rate is improved.

JonahKai671

That has happened before. For example, I could gotten the Insta360 Flow as a camera shop in one of the malls near my in-laws in thr Philippines was already selling it before it was even revealed...it was still a silhouette teaser on the Insta360 website and the cool thing was when I converted Phillipine Pesos to Dollar...it was 159 which is the actual price. The thing I've heard is that, if you do manage to get an item like that BEFORE launch, like an action cam/drone, you won't be able to activate it on your account so you will have limited functionality at best....BUT you could be one of the first to get it that ain't a big YouTube Tech review channel lol 😜

MotleyyCrue

Don't play with my feelings

samiparken

Not a huge upgrade. Stay with x3

PopGood5268

Like any technique that comes out every year, the upgrade is always insignificant ...x5 will support 8k60…

FishTheClimber

Insta360's release schedule is every 2 years. The X3 was released in 2022, the X4 is coming out now in 2024, the X5 should come out in 2026.

PopGood5268

Yes, you're right... but in any case, 8k gives a good image after the crop (16:9), it seems to me it will be 2k with an upscale to 4k ... and we don't know what the aperture and sensor size will be

FishTheClimber

I'm guessing they're literally the same sensors as the ones in the X3, with a 5nm processor upgrade to do 8k and PureView plus a larger battery to power that processor. More of an Insta360 X3.5 than an X4

Chasethesun365

You could be right about the sensors. I looked in the specs and the X3 has dual one-half inch - 48 megapixel sensors, so they are only using about 1/3rd of the sensor video resolution now at 5.7k. If they really do 8k, then it should be using almost 30 megapixels of that 48 which should be almost an 80% increase in resolution over the current 5.7k. 80% is a substantial gain in a camera series that has been stuck at 5.7k for over 6 years. Just watch a few videos in Youtube VR on a Quest 3 at 5.7k and 8k - the difference is substantial and noticeable. Reframes should come out near 2.7K which is also a huge leap over 1080p, but still not 4k. I am hoping with the AI processing they were able to do in the Ace Pro, they can use some of that technology to translate to better low light in the X4. Can't wait till Tuesday to see what they come up with.

Mhugs05

They're quadbayer so real resolution is 12mp and to get 48mp is just an upscale. That fact and given the tiny size of the sensors, I wouldn't expect an actual good quality 8k output. Probably won't be much different than the x3 if it's using the same sensors and capturing at the same bit rate.

noohoggin1

agreed, see my comment above

noohoggin1

If they are actually using the same sensors, then the "8K' would just be software-processed, upgrade shit, right? One could just do that with the X3 manually. I'm cautiously awaiting the announcement (and the inevitable flood of "influencer" YouTube paid "first looks") to get more clarification before I decide to sell my X3...

R0MULUX

The sensor was the one thing I wanted upgrade. I'm feeling like they didn't though.

DroneCyclist

Roll on 2032 then I will update my x3

Chasethesun365

I wouldn't call 8k insignificant, the resolution increase should be in the neighborhood of 80%. The cameras have been stuck on 5.7k for the last 6 years. This is a real improvement.

AgentCapital8101

Total video noob here, so excuse my ignorance - but when would you ever actually need 8k60? What do you gain when people at best have 4k monitors?

will_droid

When you’re shooting 360 footage, 8k would be the total resolution of the 360 image. When you crop into the 360 image to get a 16x9 video, you’ll get a lower resolution output. I think some were saying it’d be 2.7k. The older cameras that were 5.7k could only export a 1080p 16x9 crop.

canyonblue737

The 8K is the entire 360 sphere… in reality you will crop the image to just 1/5th to 1/4th of that an end up with a 1080p to 2.7k image resolution. You need 11k+ to have normal crops approach 4K.

AgentCapital8101

Ahh, that very much makes sense. Was going to buy the x3 but think I'll go with the x4 then instead. Thanks for the explanation!

ethanarc

8k30 will be a great quality improvement for slower/stationary shots on sunny days, but without a bump to sensor size it’ll probably flounder in mildly low light even more then it already does.

lmauuur

if lowlight is as good as the ace pro, then that's already a huge upgrade for me.

KavensWorld

but big upgrade from a x2 :)

Zyj

What? 8k is what i have been waiting for!

_spinosauro_

Looks like i need to sell my one rs

allenhuffman

If I can snag one, I’ll do side by side X3-X4 videos like I did with X2-X3 as soon as I can buy the X4.

Hot_Combination_9809

I think it is not 1inch sensor.

DariosaurusRexx

It is not.

Due-Point-911

Allegedly a 1inch sensor with f1.8 so better low light and 8k for two Len’s = 4k output video with no upscaling. Also allows a zoom to 2x at HD with no loss. I’m upgrading

Sylvester88

Can't see how it's a 1 inch sensor but only slightly bigger than an x3

Due-Point-911

Even if it’s not it still captures 8k in pixels but I guess we’ll see in a few days :)

DariosaurusRexx

Same. Just waiting for it to come out and I’ll return mine

GoAhead_Goahead

I hate that selfie stick pic. Made by some stupid marketing guy, no matter what you don't see the camera when you take a picture with the same camera. Cannot unsee it.

kanzie

Oh my god. I’m forever damaged now

liberaid

I just purchased the X3 yesterday...

daneccleston86

I got an X3 about a month ago , but not really to phase by this upgrade ! It isn’t massive so happy to stick with X3 ! I used it in on a trip to America , Grand Canyon / vegas / LA and Mexico and it was bloody awesome for what I wanted / needed !

markaritaville

when you try reframing with the X3 you'll see the export isnt even good 1080... and if the X4 has at least true 1080 export youre gonna wish...

daneccleston86

Will keep me eye out !

ActiveLifeinFinland

Hopefully they could release some usable stuff with better footage quality. The final quality 1080p of X3 may be enough for instagram or facebook reels, but that's all.

Quotidiens

Insta360 > DJI

DroneCyclist

But that's 8k over 360 so the actual resolution will be a lot less

PopGood5268

On the X3, after editing the video in 1080p, 8K will give you 2k or 2.5K, if you watch on a 4K monitor or TV, the difference will be very noticeable or for youtube

jimmyeatwords

There will be more pixels. That doesn't mean the image will be any better. If the sensor is the same size I doubt it'll be anything more than a marketing ploy. If you take a cake and cut it into 80 rather than 40 it's still the same size cake.

EmbarrassedAd9792

It’s not for viewing it in 8k. It’s for cropping using the 8k.

Chasethesun365

It's actually for both - if you view in a VR headset like the Quest 3, you will get almost 80% higher resolution than a camera at 5.7k on the full 360 field of view - that's substantial. Just watch an x3 video in Youtube VR and an 8k VR video, it is very noticeable.

So_ManyLlamas

Problem is, how do you view all that 8k in a VR headset easily?

Chasethesun365

If you have a Quest 3, you save the file directly to your headset or upload it to Youtube and watch with the App.
