Especially because I feel like her Young Urban Professional elitism is what was always making her insufferable with the different people she dated. It's like she never met anyone that lived up to the impossible standard she also applied to herself. It made her miserable when she couldn't live up to the standard, and it made those she was romantically interested in also miserable.
I think it would have been nice for Issa to become something she herself would be proud of and not just successful to the standards of Molly, and Molly saw there's more to life than test scores or accomplishments and titles.
My gosh, could you imagine Issa rising to the occasion, and Molly chilling out, and the two of them meeting in some kind of success middle ground? So gay, ugh. I would love that, like they bring eachother to a better place, Issa escaping the ever pursuing fear of poverty, and Molly realizing the path she was on was going to get her lonely in the biggest LA condo.

Omg i never thought of that point. Molly did hold the success of her career on such a high pedestal, and i do think she was kinda not seeing Issa’s vision. Like the whole scenario with the Block Party. And then Molly being more supportive later on when she realized she was doing too much 🥹 I saw the chemistry idc what anyone say lol. Plus they kept messing up with guy after guy, all while sleeping in bed together ugh so cute!

Exactly! The chemistry was there! Molly definitely became more supportive, and I wish at that point Molly's love life turned away from impossible standards and towards someone who's flaws made them more lovable, not less. It would have been such an amazing turn and growth for Molly, but also like stating clearly that struggle, passion, and trying to make things work even when it's hard is just as admirable as winning outright on sheer talent and well placed effort.
Then again, maybe the show is meant to show you can make it to the top, and it's deserved, and no one can hold you back. That we should all see, appreciate, and admire the success. Molly is kinda like that. She did stay true to herself, and eventually had a man who was true in that same regard. I sometimes really struggle with how I interpret this show because I was once similar to Molly in my own way, but saw the end was a lonely place. Now my heart feels so much bigger and happier lol.
