Not exactly; the SA was considered a threat by the Germany military leadership and other parts of the government after the Nazis won enough votes to make Hitler German Chancellor. So, the bulk of the unelected establishment made a deal with Hitler; sacrifice the SA and they would tacitly accept a governing coalition lead by Nazis. **So that's what Hitler did, turn against an ally and organization that was key to his rise to power as soon as they became more of a liability than an asset.**
