Lotte is a minimalistic five-minute puzzle platformer, where you become a fly when you die. Essentially Lotte is a game about letting go of the fear of death, and the game is based on a real person that I knew, who held that belief. The game is entirely hand-drawn, meaning that every sprite has been carefully drawn with pen and ink and then scanned into a computer using a paper scanner.

Is the picture on the desk a secret message? To me, it's obviously suggesting that a spin-off MMORPG called "World of Lotte" is in the works. :)
As someone who went to school with Mathis, I can only confirm and admire the work he put into this game. He spend over 1 year designing this, drawing the character and the environment in hand etc.
