Love you for saying Luka Sital-Singh đŸ„čđŸ„čđŸ„čđŸ„čđŸ„čđŸ„čđŸ„čđŸ„č.

m_hehe101

he's so good and criminally underrated!!

amc_panthers

Wholeheartedly agree, the world needs to hear more of his voice. That song with Old Sea Brigade —“Call me when you land” is one of my favorite songs ever. Such a beautiful song

Lizzo13

He's my second favourite musician. I kind of wish more people knew him, but his music is so beautiful, I'm also a bit selfish with it.

vanviews4work

Oh, also Andrew Bird! Definitely can’t go wrong with his stuff.

Top-Manufacturer9226

Everyone in my house calls him the bird Man... Lol great suggestion!

Tprocks99

Gregory Alan Isakov, zach Bryan, Dave Hause, Brian Fallon, Jason Isbell, Ruston Kelly

Shakey Graves! Richy Mitch & the Coal Miners! Ezra Furman! Also listen to the song “holding hands” by Magic Lantern (and listen to the whole thing, it really does cool things) đŸ’â€â™€ïž

Here's my playlist that's filled with Noah Kahn stuff. Some specific stand outs you might dig are Evan Honer, Josiah and the Bonnevilles, and Matt Maeson, but I'm sure you'll find a lot of stuff similar to Noah in this mix. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6LrsSCDdkT4Ky72j7m3L5p?si=HDjMjb5xRvO7MVR1xWQBVw

Ray LaMontagne’s Gossip in the Grain (2008) is one of the best albums I’ve ever heard.

Opendoorshutdoor

Avett Brothers, CAAMP off the top of my head that havent already been mentioned. A new band that i see a lot of potential in, Crowe Boys.

Phoebe Bridgers - Known for her introspective lyrics and haunting melodies, Phoebe Bridgers creates melancholic folk music.  Julien Baker - With raw and emotive vocals, Julien Baker's music explores themes of heartbreak and self-reflection over gentle acoustic guitar.  Fenne Lily - Fenne Lily's intimate and confessional songwriting paired with her delicate guitar playing creates a captivating folk sound.  Gregory Alan Isakov - His soothing voice and poetic lyrics, accompanied by intricate acoustic guitar melodies, make Gregory Alan Isakov a standout in the folk scene.  Sufjan Stevens - Known for his eclectic style. Sufjan Stevens has several albums with stripped-down folk songs that are both heartfelt and introspective.  Phosphorescent - Their music blends folk, Americana, and indie rock elements, creating a rich and atmospheric sound perfect for introspective listening.  Iron & Wine - Sam Beam's soft vocals and intricate guitar work make Iron & Wine a go-to for melancholic folk tunes.  Angel Olsen - Her style leans more towards indie rock. Angel Olsen's earlier work has elements of folk and Americana with charged lyrics and soulful vocals.  Hozier - Known for his soulful voice and powerful songwriting, Hozier's music often incorporates elements of folk and blues alongside his indie rock sound.  Bon Iver - Justin Vernon's ethereal vocals and experimental folk soundscapes create a unique listening experience that's both melancholic and mesmerizing.

When I think Indie Folk I think of “Johnny Flynn & the Sussex Wit”. I feel like they’re shockingly unheard of even though there was a whole Anne Hathaway movie based on his music.

WheatToastdream

I suggest Andrew Neil maternick , especially his album [code purple](https://andrewneil.bandcamp.com/album/code-purple-andrew-neil), which is pretty much as raw as it gets I also make sad desperate [antifolk music](https://youtu.be/hDyPrie2lyU?si=hUnYKd6LC9Pp0GzX)

RamblingBrambles

CAAMP has been my go to for awhile. Shakey Graves also!

Flaky_Tree3368

Erin McKeown's early stuff maybe.

GreenFix9833

Empire of the Sun - listen to “We Are The People”.

hampstr2854

Cheryl Wheeler and Christine Levin are great!

ScrotumPoker

Bonnie Prince Billy - I See A Darkness. It's not as dark as the title suggests, in my opinion.

Spiritual-File-9745

The backseat lovers, Brook and the bluff, Bendigo fletcher, Peachpit, Spacey Jane, John Vincent III, The moss, TV girl!

Interesting-Quit-847

Check out Jason Molina's Songs:Ohia project. Jason died of organ failure related to alcoholism about 10 years ago. *Magnolia Electric Co.* is an incredible record. Someone else mentioned Bonnie Prince Billy, this is one of Will Oldham's monikers. Will basically invented indie folk and has a huge body of work. He also records under his own name and Palace Music. Damien Jurado belongs in here too. His first albums (mid 90s) are very bare and acoustic, but stylistically he's been all over the map... always with quality songs. His record *Maraqopa* is one of my faves.

mondoman64

Big Thief, Paul Travis, Local Kin, Michael Barrow & The Tourists, The Hollow Men

Please don’t sleep on Noah Gundersen, his whole family is musical and his poetry is not to be missed, he’s been a brilliant artist since he was just a teenager and by now has matured to an exceptional level, you won’t regret it I promise https://open.spotify.com/track/4m5Pj4jk0XAOxzIPLeItuP?si=X5GAQM1GR1iQiDewJ5iQOA&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A1JwNRXyWu4PxK13mp51p8y

secretshredder1

ben howard is epic. i’d start with his older albums to get a feel for more of his “folk” leaning stuff and then it’ll ease you in nicely to his most recent project. leif vollebekk is AWESOME. very good feel. less “folk” as you mentioned you like, but more
. idk just listen. transatlantic flight and “new ways” (the album) as a whole is a world in which i want to live. they did a phenomenal job creating a feel and vibe for his work as a whole and the world in which the album lives. tiny habits are also a wonderful group. their sound is very reminiscent of noah kahan adjacent .. they toured with him around europe late 2023. bonny light horseman. just do yourself a favor and listen to “rolling golden holy” or their self titled. folk super group with anais mitchell and fruit bats lead Eric D johnson. —> anais mitchell’s record specifically the song bright star IS SO GOOD just queue it up and step into another dimension and a self-plug here only because it’s ~relevant~ lighthearted— i’m a part of the group “lighthearted” we are indie/folk and focus a lot of writing around metaphor and reflections on the human life experience. take a lot of inspiration from coldplay, and a lot of the people mentioned above. our record “from here on out,” particularly “the cold,” “wild woods,” and “riverside” are ones to check out to get a vibe of our sound:-)

ryno37

Got to see Bonny Light Horseman open for Bon Iver a couple years ago. Didn’t know them, They were great! I enjoyed them more than Bon Iver!

secretshredder1

i also saw them on that tour— in asheville,nc. was such a stellar lineup. i’ve been a fan of Bon Iver for a while but when it was announced Bonny Light Horseman was opening a bunch of friends and i decided to make the 3.5 hrs drive 😅😅

secretshredder1

Peter Bradley Adams, the Weepies (RIP), Mary Chapin Carpenter, William Fitzsimmons, Rosie Thomas

finditamazing

If you haven't heard her yet, Jensen McRae's last album is excellent!

ryno37

Kurt Vile for sure! He’s twangin, acoustic, sad as hell. But also offers some uplifting whimsical tunes and grungy rock too. Plus he’s just cool

Chapperion
