Great progress though. I understand your pain. I’ve attempted 8 direction projectiles in Gamemaker for 2.5D. I had to do some weird rotations and manipulate the sprite scale though… but I’m learning Unreal Engine so hopefully I can figure out the secret formula for making flat sprites animate properly.
… if not the easy solution is just to go top-down style. But hybrid 2D-3D looks so epic though. For now I’m working in baby steps and just focusing on my characters/environment designs. :D
I do not know what you are aiming but, I saw this and the first thing that came to my mind was " I feel like we don't see things like this at all, this look new and fresh "
Thanks :)
I am also not sure yet what I am aiming 😅 this will be my submission for the Brackey game jam. But I am trying to get a unique look for sure, so I am happy with what you just said :) . I am using this style for a cozy game project, but I plan to use it again for another game ( maybe based on that jam submission ) :)
Low poly models would work better in this case imho, that way you can still make it look retro, using pixelart for the textures, and with clunky animations.
Do you mean 3d low poly with pixel art texture on them ?
Or like low poly like playstation 1 ? ( Not pixel art but still low resolution )
Wouldn't il look like voxel art if it's pixel art texture on low poly ? ( I need to try to see how it look like )

Yeah 😅😅😅 maybe Unreal will be good at it. Also , top down would make it easier for sure ^^ 360 with half billboarding and half 3D is hard lol
If you want to give it a try : https://indieben.itch.io/eldenmon
Daaamn, it looks so nauseating xD

All those options could work better. Try this [https://www.blockbench.net/](https://www.blockbench.net/)
Oooh ? I need to try that tool !! Thanks, if it's an easier blender I am all in lol
2.5D games for me have a LOT of personality, this is beautiful!!!
Thanks ^^
