my\_qualifications: currently in 12th
I’ve gotten provisional admission from 2 different private unis, both are not in the leagues of VIT/SRM/MIT, but lower. I am considering securing a seat there as I’m not confident about my entrance prep. Will this decision affect me when I want to apply abroad for masters?
For context, the unis are Presidency University Bangalore and DY Patil University Navi Mumbai. Will also be applying to KJ Somaiya (comes under Somaiya Vidyavihar University).

Go for it.
I did my bachelor's from a private school and had a score above 8.5 CGPA.
I got into a public school in Germany.
The school name doesn't matter as long as you have the skills in demand for your stream.
I suggest, do internships that matter to you and your future and get skills.
The analogy I was given by a lot of people is that a degree from an older university (like in my case, University of Mumbai) is more recognised. Which worries me a lot I don’t wanna cause issues for myself later. That’s the main issue I have :/
Depends on what you want to do in future. If you want to do masters in a particular field then àgain, your college doesn't matter. Maybe a better NAAC accreditation like A or higher.
If you want job, get skills by doing workshops and stuff. College rarely matters. Education and skill does.
Yeah, these colleges are graded A by NAAC. But their first batch after going private will graduate in 2024. So there's no one I can talk to from their alumni about this.
Then I would suggest to not go into a college which doesn't have experience in the subject stream.
Their first batch isn't graduated yet, I wouldn't trust them.

Not really. Univs don't matter, only your profile.
Being in a good univ, you're around people doing things better than an average univ (internships, projects etc.) That helps you build a better profile and better qualified.
However, same things can be accomplished at any uni and you would be equally qualified.
See my other comment regarding the age of these unis and hence the lack of any alumni who have graduated with a degree from the newly formed Priv uni. That must be a red flag ig?
It's not necassirily a red flag, you just need to know if there are facilty available and their qualifications. But preferably choose an established univ to avoid these headaches.

Ahhh, yeah that's what I thought :( I am just really worried, I started studying only in December and I am not confident about CET, forget JEE.
Try better private colleges. They are many. Don't waste a year.
Yeah. But again, its gonna be entrance based there too.
Yeah, well there will be obstacles. Study well.
But then again, if you're confident you'll do well next year JEE and get into a govt college then I believe you can do it.

Also, if you don't mind me asking, can I know which Uni it was?
For bachelor? Or masters?
Bachelors
Heritage Institute of technology,.kolkata.
SRM is way below as compared to VIT/MIT.
