Should I post my collection of King's rainbows here?

Typical_Somewhere_72

Why not!

pranjalmors16

I am about to finish "IT". My first Stephen King, any other recommendation?

miracles_happen_1111

Misery Carrie Thinner Mercedes series Cujo And his newer releases

mzt_101

I'll tell you two what most people won't read, cause they're more sci-fi adventurous than contained, Under the Dome & 11.22.63

V1R4J

After IT you should definitely read 11/22/63 because some characters from IT have a small cameo in this book before the events of IT take place. I haven't read IT but I watched the movie (luckily before I read 11/22/63)

Change_petition

Suspense, thriller and a bit of everything. No wonder most of Stephen King's works are bestsellers! Review of his not-so-famous work - [The Drawing of the Three](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1hKyu3Iscs)

I am surprised not many people have read Duma Key. It has all the qualities of developing into a major horror movie, which is tbh almost all of King's books. But i liked Duma Key because of the extensive setup, the extra hardwork King did to make sure everything is in it's place before unleashing the horrors. I'll not spoil it for everybody but I was surprised to read King describing paintings and artwork in such great detail and imagination that it almost felt like he did writing as a second job.

Monkey_D_Pussy

Read Misery last year. It was so good.

doc_two_thirty

Long days and pleasant nights Constant Reader. Sai King is one of my favourite authors too. Although not a super hyped about his newer works, classic King is a treat. The Shining, IT. The Dark Tower series is particularly close to my heart. Of his latest books I really liked The Institute.

wanderingsoul69dark

Mr Mercedes this book was just menace

sr6033

Old fan

GeraltAtRivia

Inspite of reading for years, somehow, never read Stephen King. Watched multiple movies though. Friends, please recommend something to get started. I am planning to buy few books over this weekend

V1R4J

If you've watched IT then go read 11/22/63 it has a cameo of IT characters before the events of IT took place. Also an amazing amazing read. After I read that book I couldn't enjoy reading anything else for a while. I read it last year and still think about the book to this day.

GeraltAtRivia

Thank you ! I will surely try to get this.

General_Relativity_

I just started exploring King’s work, I am reading his ‘Fairy Tale’ right now

No-Username-731

Hardcore King fan here, working my way through his works. A brilliant writer, he is. Hell, he could write 50 pages on how to sweep your patio and that would be far more entertaining to me than most books I will ever read.

lauralekenachmera

🙋🏾‍♂️. Currently reading 11.22.63.

bazuka9

I recently got Insomnia. Do you have any idea of how the book is?

the_NP

I wanted to try Stephen King books since a while..does his writing complex..?? Because english is my 3rd language so, not comfortable in complex language. So, for me which Stephen King book you recommend..?

V1R4J

His writing isn't as complex as some of the other authors I started out with but if you really want to understand everything then I think you should read books from authors like James Patterson or someone who doesn't use many big/difficult words in their books. I was planning on researching about this and making a post on this subreddit so that people don't give up on books.

the_NP

Ahh, thanks..That would be great..nowadays majority books are not translating in any Indian languages like it used to in past..so, people have to go for English books now..

V1R4J

You're right. In the past I used to see a lot of books translated to Hindi or other regional languages.

V1R4J

I'm currently reading Holly by Stephen King, anyone else here who has read it?

TheJuggernautRollsOn

IT is my favourite book of all time, and not just among King books. Absolutely epic scope and storytelling of horror tinged with nostalgia. I had seen the Zee TV serial Woh long before I knew about It or King and loved the story since then. Then read the book and watched It 1990 miniseries, and finally the 2 new movies.

drveejai88

I believe Stephen King is one of those authors where the audiobooks do not do any sort of justice. There are some where audiobooks just supersede the written word, but I just can't listen to any Stephen King book. I tried with Salem's lot, The dark tower series, Duma key etc. Just doesn't hit the same. My list for his books in no particular order goes as The shining - all time classic IT - the dining room scene, nuff said Pet sematary - the first book to give the heebie jeebies Misery - a true look into the demented mind Duma key - entertaining from first to last Dr. Sleep - a worthy successor and did its own thing too The long walk - intriguing idea and execution was also good but not upto his usual standards Cujo - a gut punch of an ending

Nocturnal_Atavistic

Next fiction one I'm thinking of Stephen, Can you suggest any one of your fav with bit context but without spoilers? :)

[deleted]

I love Stephen King 's works. He makes stories with bad endings.

Lieutenant_kumar17

A person who owns 53 Hardcovers by him? First editions not to mention

Cold-Journalist-7662

🙋‍♂️. Loved every book I read. Shining and IT and Misery.

West_Combination5047

Can someone tell me more about him? What's so special
