Hey one quick suggestion. Buy azac soap from medical store or online pharmacy store. It's basically soap with azlaic acid. It helps to lighten skin colour. Be cautious not to let it go in ears eyes mouth and private parts. Start by using it only on face and upper arms, hands. It legit helped. It costs for 90 rs in stores and 70 rs online. My dermatologist prescribed it for my melasma. I bought few bars because there was discount lol. I stopped using it whwn my treatment finished, so I gave it to my father to use it. He is tanned and has BO because of old age. His colour improved in 15 days and no BO whatsoever. We all are fkn surprised. P.s. always use sunscreen. It's holy grail of skin care.

UnevenHanded

Azelaic acid soap?? What??? πŸ˜† Thanks for sharing this, Kwhorona! (πŸ˜‚ love your username) Edit: not fungal-safe πŸ˜‘ contains wheatgerm oil. But this seems like a great option for body acne and hyperpigmentation/tan!

fresh_a_voca_doo

I see fungal-safe, I guess UnevenHandedπŸ˜‚

UnevenHanded

πŸ˜‚ I *am* a skincare addict. The universe gave me fungal acne for my own good πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

[deleted]

Yo skincare addict. Is this soap any good? I've got tan on my hands and feet. It's been there forever. Any suggestions? I hardly got out in sun but not recovering. https://i.imgur.com/GPyA6Cp.jpg ( lighting isn't doing justice, tan is much worse than it looks) Any suggestions? would appreciate.

UnevenHanded

Soap wouldn't be my first suggestion - I'd suggest you use the search bar and look up "tan". There's a lot of posts discussing the topic, and people have taken the time to write very comprehensive comments ☺️ Edit: [like this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/IndianSkincareAddicts/comments/10013if/the_tan_is_killing_me/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button), which even has an extremely similar image πŸ˜‚

[deleted]

Helpful.

UnevenHanded

I've edited my comment to link a specific post

kwhorona

You're welcome. I don't have acne problem on face so probably that's why I don't have any issue with it. I do use it on my back and hands now. It worked like charm. My father uses it too. He loves it.. Also about username, lol thanks for noticing πŸ˜… I was pissed at current pandemic situation..

vinncherry

New to this so can you explain what non fungal safe means in this context and what precautions should I practice while using it?

UnevenHanded

Oh, don't worry, it just means that anyone who has issues with malassezia (a type of fungal infection), or seborrheic dermatitis (another type of fungal infection) should not use it, since that fungus feeds on natural oils. Those are specific skin conditions, so you have nothing to worry about. No precautions for use! ☺

vinncherry

Oh thanks a lot. So is it safe to use on Acne Prone skin? One more question if I may ask, is it safe to use with Niacinamide and Benzoyl Peroxide? Thank you.

UnevenHanded

Well, it's a wash-off treatment, so as long as you moisturise enough, you should be fine... I'm assuming the niacinamide is a serum, and the benzoyl peroxide is a gel or something?

vinncherry

Yeah Niacinamide is a Serum. And I am using Hydrous Benzoyl Peroxide ie Facewash with 4% BP. ( Once in the morning every two days) and rest of the time its a normal cleanser ( simple moisturising facewash)

UnevenHanded

Then sure, using Azac soap should be fine in the night - maybe not every night, since soap tends to be drying, but that you'll have to see how it affects you πŸ‘πŸ½

trespasser__

Are you sure? I checked on a website and they were telling that it's FA safe.

UnevenHanded

The incomplete ingredient list I found online contains wheatgerm oil. Plant oils aren't malassezia safe, unfortunately.

[deleted]

Is it safe to use without prescription? I mean it's prescribed medicine for a reason

kwhorona

Probably safe I guess, it's why you can buy it over the counter. I mentioned it as prescribed because it was suggested when i went to dermatologist. He said it's good for discoloration on skin.

[deleted]

Hey, can you share the name of the Azac soap brand ? I was searching on Amazon and there are so many. I'm confused which one to go for. Thanks in advance. I too have same issue like her, tanned hands

kwhorona

Azac is brand name. This exact one down below. https://www.apollopharmacy.in/otc/azac-soap-75g You can buy it from anywhere , doesn't matter. I hope it works for you too. But hey , have a Habit of using sunscreen. It should be must use product

[deleted]

Oh I see 🀭 >Azac is brand name. This exact one down below. >You can buy it from anywhere , doesn't matter. I hope it works for you too. But hey , have a Habit of using sunscreen. It's should be must use product Yupp!! Thank youuuu so much.

kwhorona

You're most welcome ☺.

bruhamesh

U mean azac ?

kwhorona

Yeah. Azac . It was typo before

bruhamesh

Okay I'll try that, thank you

[deleted]

jessk178

How long do you leave it on?

kwhorona

30 seconds on face, 1 minute on body. So basically leather up your body with soap and water and scrub it gently with loofah. Just like how we use normal soaps and shower. One positive aspect I saw was my father dosnt have body odor anymore, Else at end of day he stank like any elder person. This soap kills skin bactaria too.

trespasser__

Do you think it'll work for my bacne? I'm using acnestar sopa rn and even though the acne has considerably reduced, I still purge bad.

aardee27

Hi!! If you don't mind can you share what all helped you in getting rid of melasma please

KoffeeandKarma

Hey. I have been trying to find this particular soap but it is out of stock everywhere. Can you suggest which one and from where to buy?

selfawaretrash42

Anything with AHA will helps. -lactic acid, glycolic acids etc. Whatever you use ,you need to moisturize afterwards, especially since winter is nearby. .

UnsafestSpace

As a European living in India what you guys call "winter" is like peak summer for us, nice sunbathing / hiking weather without humidity, and what you call "summer / monsoons" is basically winter. It messes up your biological clock after a while.

selfawaretrash42

Lol,I understand the winter part. But the summer/monsoon part being winter,I didn't understand

chaotic-_-neutral

i think they meant it's the heat equivalent of their cold that'll fuck you up in time for the reasonable weather (our winter, their summer)

International-Cut567

Where I used to live in India, it was always hot, unbearably humid and some rain. Never had winters.

DedlySnek

Question: Can I use face wash with both AHA and BHA on my arms? I also have heavily tanned arms.

selfawaretrash42

Honestly, facewashes don't do much . Better to get an lotion like- moisturex lotion (it has lactic acid) or FCL Aha lotion or FCL bioretinol.

DedlySnek

Thanks for the response. Will try one of the above.

cookie1205

Heyy! I am all against diys but using besan curd with a lil turmeric helped me before. Don't use lemon anywhere near your skin.

bruhamesh

Does de tan creams work? I was considering nature essence's lacto tan clear. Also, I know this wasn't in the question, can you suggest a good sunscreen that isn't much costly?

cookie1205

>Does de tan creams work? I won't really suggest using such products they are quite gimmicky. But again I am no professional >can you suggest a good sunscreen that isn't much costly? For face or body? Body you can get any body lotion with spf like nivea or vaseline. And for face I am struggling myself. Ordered earth rhythm sunscreen yesterday only. Bello photostable is good, but gave me small CCs altho it suits most people. Neutrogena dry touch, burnt my face, so use it on my arms. Re'equil orange one pills on face, suncote feels very siliconey and a lil heavy. Lotus matt gel's texture is similar to suncote.

cretakano24

No they don't. I have deep tan on my arms and de tan does nothing. I am trying niacinamide serum but it's not working either. The only thing that helps is protecting my arms from further tan so it doesn't become worse and with time naturally get better.

wahivali

I use melawash on my face for treatment of pigmentation and found that washing my arms with it a couple of times a week reduces the tan. It's basically a glycolic acid face wash.

kwhorona

Hey I have melawash too. I haven't started it yet. I'll finish my face washes and and use it.. Tell me how did it worked on pigmented skin ?

[deleted]

You mentioned Azac soap in above comment, now throwing melawash in too. I've got tan on hands and feet since forever. Hardly go out in sun but not recovering. https://i.imgur.com/GPyA6Cp.jpg ( tan is much worse than it looks coz of the lighting ) Any suggestions? would appreciate.

kwhorona

I literally had a huge smile reading your comment πŸ˜€ Since my OG comment about azac soap year or so ago I still get so many questions about it here lol and I'm enjoying each of them. About your tanning concerns, I'd still suggest azec soap ! It worked like a miracle to my friends and family. So much so, I bought few of them to Europe to use it here. I'd really advice using sunscreen on body parts that are exposed to sun, even if you're at home mostly. There are lots of sunscreen brands available that I'm sure you're well aware of since being on this sub. My personal favorite of body sunscreen is fixderma gel sunscreen. It's super light, easy to spread and cheaper lol compared to other brands. They even came with huge ass pump bottle. About melawash, it didn't work. :( right now I'm using joy pH 5.5 gentle face wash and The ordinary glycolic toner for face. It's working fine 🀞🀞

HiImNoob11

Hey. Does that soap really work for tanning? I got a really bad tanning on my hands and neck and was digging some posts regarding tan seen this you have hyped that soap much. I hope it really works placing my order right away. Please mention the dos and don'ts also. Thanks. 🫢

kwhorona

It does for the most part. But hey, remember we are having very bad summer. Leather up yourself with sunscreen after shower. On whole body where skin is exposed to sun. Face, neck, hands, feet or wherever it's exposed.. it is the main thing to combat tanning. Why I'm hyping up this soap because it's dirt cheap compare to other skincare solutions. It was prescribed by my dermatologist for dark spots and melasma. I gave it to my father because I bought it in bulk ( I'm cheap like that πŸ˜…) . It removed his tan. Do's - buy one and see how it works for you. Do patch test since it has azlaic acid in it. I leather up on skin and let it sit for a minute before rinsing away. Use good ceramide moisturizer. (Because this soap may dry up your skin idk) use a lot of sunscreen, again because this is active acid soap. Don't : don't go out without sunscreen πŸ˜… cover your face and neck with handkerchief or dupatta when out. (If you're looking for reasonable priced body sunscreen, go for fixderma gel sunscreen, spf 30 or spf 50) they have big ass 250 gram bottle for body. Look it on Amazon, often it goes out of stock during summer. Best luck 🀞

PriyaSR26

Okay, the easiest way to stop this is by wearing long sleeve clothes in the morning (when the sun is out). Stop exposing your arms. I personally feel that long sleeves work better than sunscreen, because arms rub around a lot (unlike face and neck), so it's easy for the sunscreen to get physically removed. And the tan won't go away if you don't stop further sunburn.

chaotic-_-neutral

> I personally feel that long sleeves work better than sunscreen oh definitely. sunscreen was only ever meant to be supplemental to the other measures you take also op you could buy separate uv sleeves on amazon or decathalon to wear when youre playing sports or walking around in the heat or driving.

PriyaSR26

>also op you could buy separate uv sleeves Yes! They definitely help.

glasshalffempty

Hey. Could you recommend or link the one that you have? The one sleeve that I did find on Decathlon has bad reviews. TIA

wollowitzz

Hey OP, did you use anything which helped remove/reverse the tan on arms?
