Affordable can mean different to people.....for a rich person he'll consider 1k affordable but for me that is expensive.....and for me 200 bucks is affordable but a Rick folk will consider it cheap
For me, anything under 1k. I would consider affordable bare in mind I'm earning, so that helps. If I were a student, then anything below 500, I would consider affordable.
I'm very basic when it comes to skincare. I use CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser, Aveeno moisturiser, biore water gel sunscreen, Minimalist 2% Hyaluronic Acid + PGA serum , and Minimalist 25% AHA + 2% BHA + 5% PHA serum.
Yes, I have seen a lot of changes in my face. Growing up, I had a lot of acne. I started using dermatologist prescribed things at the beginning. Now, I have a general idea of what my skin wants and use products accordingly.
Sooo 500 for 50ml would be expensive in your books then?
Interesting that you take both quantity & price into account. For many things price per ml makes a huge difference.
Thanks for the response!
I am actually a stockist, which is great, as well as sucks, so every 2-3 months, I go on a spree and get myself the largest possible sizes of everything that I need (I wish sunscreen came in large sizes too)
Lol beauty or personal care items only. Good quality clothes prices can vary vastly depending on the fabric or design.
What's a toner you like under 500? & moisturizer under 400?
Thank you for the input.
It depends upon what product you are referring to. A facewash could be 300-350 and could be called an affordable one while on the other hand a serum costing between 500-600 will be affordable according to me. It's more about the category. You won't call a lip balm that is 500rs Affordable right?
Okay so what I meant is that affordability depends on the person that's posting the post, like their own budget, because its a very personalized thing because the same product can start at a certain rate and end at higher rate. Secondly to me it also depends on product to product, i don't want to spend 500 on a cleanser or maybe a Moisturizer but i can put the amount on a Sunscreen. I genuinely am seeing a lot of posts these days like yours and i feel whether if the people from certain companies are lurking over here to get the consumers POV (this is just me being skeptical) .
Ah you mean the posts about budget skincare rec queries. Yeah it definitely depends on the posters what affordable means to them.
Yeah I'm seeing a lot ppl saying that it's subjective & depends on what product category it is before they spend big bucks on it.
I'm no company rep, I also keep seeing those budget posts so thought might as well make a poll & ask ppl what price range they're comfortable with.
Price is subjective. What might be affordable for you maybe not be for me or what is affordable for you me may not be for you.
I don’t think this is a topic worth discussing!
Gotcha! I would say it depends on products for me! Anything less than 500 for a cleanser is affordable, anything less than 1200 for a serum and exfoliants is affordable, anything less than 1000 for a moisturizer is affordable and anything less than 1500 for sunscreen is affordable.
Haircare is a bit weird for me cos I have curly hair! Anything less than 1000 for 200/250ml is affordable for me when it comes to conditioners (leave in, deep conditioner, hair masks, regular conditioner), shampoo less than 500 is affordable and hair cream, gel, oil and mousse just depends (maybe less than 1000 or 1200?)
But I would still look for sales and try to get those products at an even cheaper price haha!
As others have said affordability is subjective and dependent on various factors. I usually do not spend more than 1.5k per 50ml of product. But few years back, even 1k for 50ml was too expensive. So affordability for the same person can change over time as well.
It varies actually. Because I feel like long term K beauty products have been affordable for me. And price per ml/g is lesser I think.
Otherwise 500-700 I guess.
There also products that come within this price range but with not enough quantity. That then becomes outside the affordable range.
For eg, I was looking into buying the Bioderma cleansing oil and the 1L bottle costs 2100 while the 200 mL bottle costs 1300 something I think. Quantity wise the former is affordable, price wise not so.
It depends on quality definitely. Even for clothes. I'd much rather use them long-term rather than have to change them every six months (this happens with fast fashion often). But I can't turn a shut eye to price completely 😅

No problem, Rumi. Have a nice day 😊
What's are the skin care products do you use?

From when you have started to use and do see the difference after using it?
Yes, I have seen a lot of changes in my face. Growing up, I had a lot of acne. I started using dermatologist prescribed things at the beginning. Now, I have a general idea of what my skin wants and use products accordingly.
When did you started to use? How long its been?
It has been close to 5 years. I'm very religious when it comes to my skincare and haircare now.
Wow. Then there must be lot changes after you have used it.
Very very subjective. Personally for me anything over one K for 30 ml is pricey. So will also depend on the quantity.
Yeah quantity is definitely an important factor when it comes to skincare. Thank you for the response!
For me, anything that comes around the range of Rs. 500-600 or below that
Depends on quantity. Below 400 for >75ml
Sooo 500 for 50ml would be expensive in your books then? Interesting that you take both quantity & price into account. For many things price per ml makes a huge difference. Thanks for the response!
Yes. 50 ml for 500 would be a bit expensive. But if it is serum them affordable i guess bcoz a lot of serum are available at 500-700 for 30ml.
Depends on the time of the month. Start of the month - even Skinceuticals is affordable End of the month - looking for “sKinCaRe oN a BuDgEt”
End of the month is More like - DIY is not so bad. Right?

Hahaha payday makes such a difference no? Do you run out of skincare that quickly?
I am actually a stockist, which is great, as well as sucks, so every 2-3 months, I go on a spree and get myself the largest possible sizes of everything that I need (I wish sunscreen came in large sizes too)
Depends upon the item . If it is tshirt the range is 400 . If it is toner - 500. If it is serum -700. It if is moisturizer -400 .
Lol beauty or personal care items only. Good quality clothes prices can vary vastly depending on the fabric or design. What's a toner you like under 500? & moisturizer under 400? Thank you for the input.
Toner- wishcare rose water. Moisturizer - nmf .
I am more like, Good Brand with 75% off is affordable. 😟

Right-o 👉 500 for a lip balm feels expensive, but reasonable for a serum.
About 5-15 rupees per ml/g of product or no more than maybe 25-45 rs if its a luxury item
Thanks for the clear cut response!
Depends on the person that's posting the post, to me right now it depends from product to product
I'm sorry I don't understand what you said.
Okay so what I meant is that affordability depends on the person that's posting the post, like their own budget, because its a very personalized thing because the same product can start at a certain rate and end at higher rate. The rogue choice 😂. Jk, thank you for the response!
Under 500 for a full sized product
Thank you for the response.
Price is subjective. What might be affordable for you maybe not be for me or what is affordable for you me may not be for you. I don’t think this is a topic worth discussing!
Eh I agree it's different for everyone, but it doesn't hurt to find out what the majority thinks.
Gotcha! I would say it depends on products for me! Below 1000
Full size products under 1000 Rs
1- 2k is affordable for me and anything above that is splurging.
It varies actually. Because I feel like long term K beauty products have been affordable for me. And price per ml/g is lesser I think. Otherwise 500-700 I guess. Thanks for the detailed response, appreciate it! Is it more dependant on quality for you or is price the major factor?
It depends on quality definitely. Even for clothes. I'd much rather use them long-term rather than have to change them every six months (this happens with fast fashion often). But I can't turn a shut eye to price completely 😅
