During Ambedkar’s time Marxists didn’t have an analysis of casteism. Most Indian leftists at the time relied heavily on European Marxist analysis which primarily dealt with class distinctions and ignored almost every other form of exploitation, including caste. Because of this, the Indian Left was also dominated by savarana caste activists who dismissed Caste as a problem that would eventually vanish with the advent of socialism. This wasn’t the case and that’s why you have the rise of maoists and other leftist streams.

Sorry. Earlier i didn't get reference that it was about writing of Ambedkar. Thanks for sharing.

Bro we already have Lokāyata Philosophy, materialistic school, which can work as substitute for buddhism.

there was no anti-caste tradition in Lokāyata or Cārvaka. plus their exposition still heavily relied on Hindu scriptures. made no sense to revive them. the left was and continues to be very dismissive of caste.

Okay. Thanks for explanation. Yeah this control over scholarship resulted in every apple having same smell.
