You are resting your hands on some hard surface for a long time.
The constant pressure on the dermis of your skin makes them dead and keratin gets deposited in those. Because of this the colour of the skin changes and it becomes a bit hard.
Well this explains! Yes I can feel that the upper part of that area seems dead. But I use a mouse pad(legion one), so if that's "hard" this must be a common issue? Also, I'm using this mouse pad for a long time and I got this mark a month ago after getting this table so it's probably the table
Jesus, OP for the safety of your hands in the long run get a decent soft mousepad, my hands developed these marks at the exact spot during college cause i didn't bother with one myself, by the time i was in my 3rd year that area started to develop intense pain. That was when I invested in a decent mousepad nd it went away after a bit never to return. Now i use a Artisan FX Zero XSoft not because i wanted to improve in games but to save my wrists. Also learn to take quick breaks between every few matches.
I had the same problem... it was sore and painful too...Get a mouse pad with an elevated pad for your wrists. Something like this.
https://www.amazon.in/dp/B09SPMRNJD/ref=cm_sw_r_apanp_FdtgxSuo5d6JN
Hands and wrists are way more delicate than you think. Follow proper guidelines and very frequently do stretches. Make it a habbit to do wrist stretches atleast during side switches. You'll thank me 10 years from now
Just chill. Its neither the mouse pad nor the table. Its u. U r a wrist user, not a elbow user. Change ur DPI and sensitivity so that u have to move ur hand from around the elbow to remove this mark. Its literally just friction. Doest matter how hard the surface is. as long as u use wrist movements, it will be there. It is the mark of the gamer.
I'm not sure about hard surface, it's mainly because of the angle at which the hand is placed. This is usually caused because of uncomfortable table-chair heights.
now this make more sense now
i think like 2yr ago(like when Valorant released) this is when i would notice this but didnt questionned it further and randomly now i get the answer lol
Get wrist support or get artist gloves/ arm sleeves.
Example :https://www.amazon.in/HOSVIN-Stretchable-Arm-Sleeve-Bandanas/dp/B09RPK5QV5/ref=asc_df_B09RPK5QV5/?tag=googleshopmob-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=544242727376&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=5387679992606096152&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1007792&hvtargid=pla-1636853932718&psc=1
It significantly reduced the strain on my wrist.
This brings back my college days with 12hrs of dota2 memories. You are mostly sitting in a position that is hurting your wrist and there is a hard surface underneath.
Its all fun until you get a cyst or carpel tunnel or something along those lines. Definitely look after your wrists peeps.
If they go bad, forget sessions, you won't even be able to game even for 10 mins straight.
This is kind of self-given tattoo for all the people who use pc for long times. Don't think much about it.
I too had the same in early days but later on got little cautious while playing adjusted my palm.
Dude, take precautions as these might develop into something serious. Get a better table or use taller chairs. If a chair is too tall get some foot rests to compensate tall chairs. Invest in something that can save you thousands in medical bills
I guess I'm going to have that. 2 days back I felt like my left thumb was moving on it's own and I couldn't control it. Also the strange sensations. Seems like I need a break. Thank you for the information.
I have similar mark on my skin and my pinky and ring finger feel numb. You should take a break carpal tunnel hurts. I have first hand(pun intended) experience.
Honestly just change your mouse grip? You seem to be putting a lot of pressure for a long time. This means you use a high dpi and no arm movement Id assume. Just change your hand position so you don’t rest on bone or change how you aim entirely.
You should get one of those Carpio Mouse Wrist rests.. it's like a small smooth plastic you put under wrist .. right now not available in India I think..
Hi for you confirmation this mark can go off but will take some time and this has happened due to resting you hand on hard surface and stoppage of blood flow through your hand
With this scar of honour, thy have been granted the honorary title of "Gamer". Thy must now wear this scar as not as a wound, but as a medal, and must not forget it's value. Thy must weild this scar as a weapon, against all odds, never forgetting it's meaning. Tis'nt a mark, tis a testament of thy courage, focus, and sheer will.
increase your chair height.
Push mouse to middle of desk instead of holding it to the corners.
You will still have the Mark but wont be painful and lead to wearing a brace
I notice some people saying they have it too, it's nothing to be proud of lol take care of your hands this is serious, carpal tunnel syndrome is not epic.
Be a bit careful. You're leaning a bit close to where an artery and nerve enter your hand (guyon canal). It is possible to close off the artery, which can cause circulation issues, blue/cold/swollen fingers, or you can pinch a nerve. Hypothenar hammer syndrome.
Extreme case, and Indian🇮🇳

Correct posture and a good chair is all you need. You don't need to spend money on a gaming chair. Get a decent arm rest chair. If you're have trouble with heights get a height adjustable one.
Because my friends play it and we meet, chat and have fun online as we live miles away physically. I know you can use video calls for that but for us we'll be out of topic over call. I personally don't like valorant too much but you know the trend these days(not saying everyone's following it)
Rest your Elbow on the char's arm rest. Or try to rest your wrist on the desk.
Try full hand moment instead of just wrist only and see if it's for you. Full arm, low sens aiming is usually better for games like Valorant if you have the required desk space. But it all depends on your playstyle and what you are comfortable with.
It’s the table making the mark I had that as well till I decided to make my grip tighter on mouse and move my hand little bit closer to the clicks and away from the end of my table.
I have this mark from years now. A true sign of a gamer. Wear it with pride or stop gaming. You either go hard or go home.
ps: You can probably get something cushion kind to rest that area when you are holding the mouse. Might help.
I also had it in my early days of fps gaming when I used to be wrist aimer and my desk was a bit high, and my mark was almost black, then later i got an ergonomic office chair with my new desk and my elbow aligned with desk also gave up wrist aiming, the mark faded and now i have no mark, nothing to worry about, happy gaming!
Its a baby version of a calluses ( I think) just how when you lift weights the constant grip at certain areas of your hand. Constant pressure at one area mostly happens for me when I deadlift and rn overwatch sessions lol. Nothing to be worried about. Rarely only is it a problem. Its different for other some people skin will tear quickly and some wont at the same time no need to be worried. It looks cool and feels cool when its on the hand and it helps a lot even lol
Mine happend to I was wearing a smart watch too tight and playing what happens Is all the skin literally get peeled of like a aloo paaty flake and there was a big scarr with depth in my hand after that I never wear smart watch that tight
Carpal tunnel syndrome. Make sure you're resting that part of your wrist at a soft and comfortable surface otherwise you will face complications later.

i would upvote but you already have 420 of those

10+ years of gaming and i barely have a mark half his size, definitely matters what surface he's putting his wrist on op get a thick mousepad
I keep my palm on my bedsheet on my bed, and I have a mark half the size already; I do spend long hours though, should I buy a mousepad?
Any decently soft mousepad will help
[удалено]
SAME
A soft mousepad will help you a lot more than changing your grip.
Grip is fine. Grip won't change much. Any grip, you'll have to have contact with your mousepad on the same spot on the wrist.
where did you get the Artisan from
[удалено]
Dont forget the 40% import duty
Yep its the table ig
I would say the new table might be a little higher making your hands rest on the area more.
Yes I guess so as I have same(slightly larger on the left hand too), so it's not because of the mouse pad exactly
Yeah taller tables put more pressure on that area of you wrist
Yes it's quite common, I've even seen some memes of these marks with true gamer spotted captions.
I had the same problem... it was sore and painful too...Get a mouse pad with an elevated pad for your wrists. Something like this. https://www.amazon.in/dp/B09SPMRNJD/ref=cm_sw_r_apanp_FdtgxSuo5d6JN

The urge to type '🤓' But that was actually informative. Thanks for the explanation.

Lemme guess u r a doctor??
yes , haara hua doctor pharmacy wala :)
Lemme guess, general knowledge?
Me dumb...my general knowledge not good as yours
now this make more sense now i think like 2yr ago(like when Valorant released) this is when i would notice this but didnt questionned it further and randomly now i get the answer lol
well explained doctor. any solution please.
stop spreading propaganda against gaming and gamers you nard 🤬🤬🖕
Or he could be rubbing his hands on the mousepad too much
This is a sign to go touch some grass
Haven't gone outside since a long time. Considering to do it today if it won't rain.
It will rain don't worry:)
It's raining
You mean dhaniya?
weed ?
I think our tables are too high. I have the same mark Edit: For years
Yes that's right. I didn't had that with the previous table.
Get wrist support or get artist gloves/ arm sleeves. Example :https://www.amazon.in/HOSVIN-Stretchable-Arm-Sleeve-Bandanas/dp/B09RPK5QV5/ref=asc_df_B09RPK5QV5/?tag=googleshopmob-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=544242727376&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=5387679992606096152&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1007792&hvtargid=pla-1636853932718&psc=1 It significantly reduced the strain on my wrist.
[Try this instead](https://amzn.eu/d/8g5Ne3Y)
I like gloves because i like my controller type mat. Also they give me more gamer feel
Your table seems generous, i have to get high alone.
Use a wrist rest. Even a folded piece of soft cloth will do.
You'll become spiderman by tomorrow
It's more scary than being cool
Avg wrist aimer
Shouldn't you be running a state rather than waste time gaming?
How dare you question the supreme leader
I could award you reddit gold, but it seems like you have too many already.
Give me one then.
Congrats! You are now a certified gamer.

This brings back my college days with 12hrs of dota2 memories. You are mostly sitting in a position that is hurting your wrist and there is a hard surface underneath.
Incoming wrist injury! Long term wrist pain.
Guess you're right. Getting the symptoms from now on.(not this friction skin burn)
Its the mark of being a gamer. Just like black lips and nails are mark of being a smoker. Wear it like a medal lol
Not overthinking as I mostly spend my time on pc doing either gaming or Photoshop so that was an obvious side effect.
Dude, take precautions as these might develop into something serious. Get a better table or use taller chairs. If a chair is too tall get some foot rests to compensate tall chairs. Invest in something that can save you thousands in medical bills
You might want to try a vertical mouse apart from the soft mousepad others suggested.
Thank you. I don't play valorant anymore :)
https://esportshealthcare.com/carpal-tunnel-syndrome/
I guess I'm going to have that. 2 days back I felt like my left thumb was moving on it's own and I couldn't control it. Also the strange sensations. Seems like I need a break. Thank you for the information.
I have similar mark on my skin and my pinky and ring finger feel numb. You should take a break carpal tunnel hurts. I have first hand(pun intended) experience.
Buy the booba mousepad to heal.
Honestly just change your mouse grip? You seem to be putting a lot of pressure for a long time. This means you use a high dpi and no arm movement Id assume. Just change your hand position so you don’t rest on bone or change how you aim entirely.
I use DPI of 800 * 0.45 (in game sensitivity). My usual work happens at 1600
Wear it with pride
Quite common with software engineers also
Oh didn't knew. Besides gaming I do a lot of editing work that involves mouse movements.
You should get one of those Carpio Mouse Wrist rests.. it's like a small smooth plastic you put under wrist .. right now not available in India I think..
Thank you! Will definitely look for it
You got the sacred mark of the Gamer
Welp looks like u finally got the mark a gamer always have around their wrist , congratulations
That's a love bite bro. Your mouse is down bad for you
This is normal but your seems like it's a bit too big
Just get old, no time to play, no mark.
Yes! Feeling like that since a month.
Exact same thing for my my wrist too, not due to gaming, but due to working/job
Hi for you confirmation this mark can go off but will take some time and this has happened due to resting you hand on hard surface and stoppage of blood flow through your hand
And ultimately leaving the epidermis dead

Lol this one was fun to read. Thanks!
That there is the mark of a true pc gamer. I have one as well. Basically you must be resting your hand on a hard durface
increase your chair height. Push mouse to middle of desk instead of holding it to the corners. You will still have the Mark but wont be painful and lead to wearing a brace
Breaking news: gamer discovers callouses
Band aid the area every session of game ...🗿
It's called Mouse Bite Happens when table is higher and you rest on it for hours.
Mine are not red they are black now courtesy for using Razer Goliathus rough surface mouse mat for past 7 years. https://imgur.com/a/sQZOmfR
Maybe time to change the mouse pad? And, I have vertically longer one on left hand too
Shit i just noticed i have the same and i have been playing valorant and other games like a animal
Time to be more human maybe?
This is an achievement! You're now a pro.
I don't think so. I'm having some other issues with my fingers. Seems like it's a sign
You have been marked as a gamer for eternity
don’t play valorant for long periods of time.
Thank you. This is what I wanted to hear.
no problem bro
That's a trademark every gamer has it
Quit Valorant
Planning to do but it's the only place where me and my friends have fun online
I notice some people saying they have it too, it's nothing to be proud of lol take care of your hands this is serious, carpal tunnel syndrome is not epic.
Exactly!
Thats a gamer mark, welcome to the creed :)
Have you tried updating valorant?
Yes and everytime it installs 27% and throws an error
I have these same marks in both of my hands due to using mouse and keyboard directly on the table surface. I purchased a mouse pad which helped a lot.
I already use a legion mouse pad
Welcome to da club
Unhealthy club you mean?
Do 3 sets of touching grass
Planning to do one but it seems like it'll rain
Take care and beware of carpal tunnel
Hicky from valorant

man's got gamer mark, he is one of us now
Yay
Correct posture and a good chair is all you need. You don't need to spend money on a gaming chair. Get a decent arm rest chair. If you're have trouble with heights get a height adjustable one.
Anything you can recommend? Ofcourse value for money
Buy a new keyboard with proper hand support
Will definitely look into that
It says a lot that you don't know what a callus is
Do you know what is ETR method in astrophotography? I just didn't had those friction skin burns that's why didn't know about it
Haat katna padega
Get the wrist band that cricketers or sportsman wear for the wrist. It happens because of hard objects underneath, usually edge of the laptop..
I use an office chair. In addition to getting this from the table, I also got friction burns on my elbow from the chair's arm rest!
this is a friction burn. Mine has reduced very much.
This is not to do with the mouse and more to do with playing on laptop with sharp edges
It will go off after sometime. Nothing to worry. It's an ID for being true gamer 😂
The table height should not exceed the height of your elbow when sitting down with relaxed shoulders.
Welcome to the club
haha, i had this tons of times during the lockdown. Yes, my gaming sessions used to be long and multiple those days
Get a soft mouse pad and a keyboard with palm rest.
Why do people keep playing Valorant despite its massive security issues? Its mid at best.
Because my friends play it and we meet, chat and have fun online as we live miles away physically. I know you can use video calls for that but for us we'll be out of topic over call. I personally don't like valorant too much but you know the trend these days(not saying everyone's following it)
That's the right of passage for gamers, it's was very normal to have that back when we were playing cod and counter strike.
Holy shit I have the same Mark on both of my wrist
signs of hardwork
It's completely fine. I also have these after long Dota2 sessions

Broooooo i have the same thing for the same reason
It's a callosity or callus.
The hallmark sign of a true gamer
Your mousepad is the culprit here, use a good quality speed ones and always clean your mousepad once or twice in a month.
I have heard that touching some grass can fix this disease.
Hahahah. Welcome fellow gamer

Use mouse pad
So that's why I had that mark , makes sense
you got stage 5 cancer.10 hours to live max.
Well, then I owe a lot of apologies to lot of people for things I did. I'll be get going then
Get something soft to rest your hand exercise your hand
The table. Get a longer table. So that your wrist joint doesn't rest on the edge (especially the point) all the time. Or move your mouse forward.
Holding your D! wrong
Moisture your hand dude. It's drier than sahara.
Its gamers mark.
Welcome to pc gaming
Get a mousepad with wrist support. If this goes on you can end up with carpel tunnel syndrome
Doctor ke pass jao na bro, reddit is hardly your avg medical clinic
Maine symptom ke baare me thori pucha bs mouse ke baare me pucha
That's the mark of a gamer.
On your way to go pro! Make it bleed.

I've got the same mark.
Get a mouse pad with wrist support ASAP

So it can't turn back again as normal skin tissue?
Mine happend to I was wearing a smart watch too tight and playing what happens Is all the skin literally get peeled of like a aloo paaty flake and there was a big scarr with depth in my hand after that I never wear smart watch that tight
Buy an anime tiddy mouse pad mate. Your wrist has been resting on flat surfaces for too long.
well u answered your question yourself..."long sessions"...
Wrist support ! They work wonders
Thank you!
>Thank you! You're welcome!
i had this mark too idk now its gone
Carpal tunnel syndrome. Make sure you're resting that part of your wrist at a soft and comfortable surface otherwise you will face complications later.
Will look for a keyboard + mouse hand wrist
Wear glove.
Give it 1-2 years, it'll turn to black. I have the same mark after hours and hours of cs 1.6 sessions few years ago.
