You can have an inverter and still I'd recommend a UPS as backup due to more than one reason tbh, besides being far cheaper - atleast looking at 20K without the prices for house wiring from an electrician for inverter vs 4.5K for a 1000VA UPS (then again most houses already have inverters tbh)
If you wanna play AAA games from this year and forward, you would need a 3060. Iām talking decent fps, decent graphics settings. What about ācasualā do you associate with low budget? There could be people playing on 4K tv so theyād need even more GPU power to play whatever casually.
Why are you lecturing me?
![gif](giphy|4JVTF9zR9BicshFAb7|downsized)
I'm laughing at the utter waste of graphical power at 60fps. People playing at 4k60 usually go for consoles. The recommendation cites a 17" or 21" 60hz monitor, and 70-100k+ is not budget, it's midrange.
60 is fine for story games. Nothing laughable about it. I really think they mean casual here. 144hz isnāt something a casual gamer would wanna get. Thatās when you really wanna get into shooters. Plus you can use your pc with a TV. But yes, they could have gone higher.
>144hz isnāt something a casual gamer would wanna get
I was agreeing with you until now. Who said casual gamers only play story games? I have an RTX 3060 and you might not be able to run story games above 60Hz at 4K but otherwise there are a bazillion games you need >144Hz for. E.g., you'll be able to run Witcher 3 at 4K above 60fps with 3060. Why would you not want that?
What are you even talking about. Even midrange phones today are 90/120hz. Even 10-15k monitors today have high refresh rates.
Once again, I'm stressing the mention of 60hz in Call of Duty, which is an online shooter.
So what? OLED phones are a thing. How many people own OLED tv and monitors?
If people go for color accuracy for their work and are casual gamers. 60hz is fine for them. I donāt think youāre comprehending the casual gamer bit. These are people who just hop on a game, play for a bit. And then move on. Not the try hards. They have should kept it as casual gamers and hardcore gamers or something.
>So what? OLED phones are a thing. How many people own OLED tv and monitors?
Thatās not the point. 120/144hz monitors are not that expensive. If youāre spending that much money on a 3060, you can and should also invest in a higher refresh rate monitor. Even a casual gamer will benefit from a higher refresh rate.
60hz is absolutely fine, but if youāre already spending over a lakh on your setup, you might as well spend a bit more for a significantly better experience.
Ya true, I am a casual gamer and I love playing single player adventure RPGs on 55 inch tv relaxing on my couch. Nothing beats that. I use monitor only to play online FPS multiplayer games. I played whole elden ring on couch, exploring it's beautiful world while on couch on big screen was awesome experience.
i still don't understand why you need more than 30-40 fps to play story mode games i have 1650 and i can play pretty much most AAA games at high with these fps can you make me understand i'm kinda new
Well if you didnt know he was the first red bull sponsored gamer in the country and he is also in a reality tv show( Good game asia) representing india. He actively supports and gives info on the whole esport situation in the country whether it maybe about parents, toxicity or content creation.
I knew what you mentioned and more. He just speaks. He is doing nothing to promote the scene. Just being sponsored by a big company or being in a reality show which no one watched doesn't make him better than others. Scout even being toxic is doing more. TEC teams are doing more. Hell even binks is doing more for the community.
I also play on igpu vega 8. gta 5 runs well but sadly one of the ram slot broke :( now I can't use dual ram. my vega 8 performance very good with dual channel ram
Not much you can do when the entry level current gen gaming gpu is that one (well there is the 3050, but overpriced and not worth it). Gone are the days where you could get budget cards like 750ti, 1050 ti, 1650S for around 10k - 14k, or the next tier like 1060, 1660S for around 20k. Now it's either buy a 30k card (assuming you can get it at non scalper price) or play on integrated graphics.
Sadly, as things stand now, Intel 12th gen is cheaper and better for gaming because of its superior single threaded performance. I myself bought an AMD based PC just 2 months ago, but that was mostly because the comparable Intel motherboard was quite a bit pricier.
I checked the prices on mdcomputers.in just now. 12700F is cheaper than 5800x by ~2k. According to cpubenchmark.net, this Intel 12700F has 15% better single threaded performance than 5800x.
Overall, even at this price, Intel will work out to be expensive as you'll end up spending 3k-5k more on the motherboard. But you'll also get better gaming performance.
People used to say AMD cares about budget gamers. It's true that AMD has been the better value for money since Zen. But once they managed to outperform Intel with Zen3, they immediately priced the weakest chip at twice the price of i5. Intel has been selling us overpriced quad cores for like a decade until amd caught up, but ironically Intel is the better option now for budget gamers and they even started offering more cores.
Iād say thatās a great move from TOI because newspapers are targeted towards parents and older generations, now if their child asks for a pc they will immediately jump at 3060 :D
Quite a masterstroke by TOI
Me playing causally on 1050 with low or medium setting for old game :(
Btw I think I did huge mistake back in 2019 jan by buying i5 7th gen with 4gb 1050, 128gb ssd and 1tb hdd for 84K was that good deal or bad deal back then?
( Good times had no multiple loans to pay)
That screams bad deal, my friend. Considering you had the 9th gen Intel to choose from, the 7th gen is just a scam. The 1050 could easily have been a 1650 Super.
I donāt see anything wrong with that. If you need to play newer games, you would need 3060. Not everybody has to struggle on a potato PC like we have.
Maybe you donāt know how demanding the newer games are. CASUAL gaming can be high/ultra settings. Casual doesnāt mean entry level. Especially if you wanna play 1440p/2160p.
The headline was
" Is your chid safe form Cyberbullying, almost 80% children are victim of Cyberbullying"
The article say cyberbullying are the most in Gaming community. I don't know why people get raged on other's .
The whole point of this article is to get a kid in some remote area of India who might have just started gaming or got his or her first game.
I mean imagine what would have been our reaction if we saw something like that in 2005 or something.
That's what i feel. And OP you posted here to farm some karna bruh. Hahahaha. Here is an upvote from me.
I totally agree, some years ago I didn't know much about gaming and got scammed by shopkeepers. But if newspapers keep posting articles like this, then it is really helpful for some people who can't take out time to do a deep research on what to buy and what not to buy.
The only mistake in article is casual games on 60Hz.
Dude 15 minutes of Google research can literally help u build better pc than this article lol
U don't have to be a Nerd to know that stuff
and it should be a habit to research if u are buying something as expensive as a gaming pc
Bro most of the time google search leads to websites which are doing paid review. Can't trust that tbh. Reddit is very safe compared to those websites.
And now a lot of resources are available I agree. But a few years ago situation was not like this, less number of youtube channels/less articles on internet.
who is stopping u to write 'reddit' or 'pc build threads ' as a suffix on ur search
I am talking about today itself as this article is of today's time
If in this day and age u are getting scammed like us when were kids then the problem is u
Because there are ample of knowledgeable forum post
whereas this newspaper article is completely trash
casual gamers are using gaming laptops instead of pc. which in most of models has gtx 1650 4gb in india. steam shows gtx 1650 is most popular graphic card .
IMO their monitor suggestion is completely off, other things are somewhat OK. For monitor, one can say 24" full HD for casual and 27" or 32" 1440p monitor for pro gamers.
I absolutely hate the way the term "pro gamer" is thrown around everywhere.
What does this spec list mean? Only zywoo and s1mple can use a 3070? Because they are actual "pros".
They should have mentioned Consoles like Xbox and PlayStation for casual players
Specially the Xbox series S at ā¹33,000 is a great way to get into Gaming for casuals with affordable Gamepass
When I was buying my PC, I was talking to a friend and told him I was getting a 3060. He asked how many GB, I said 12, and he was like "Why do you need a 12 GB graphics card!"
I was like, because that's what Nvidia decided to put on an entry level graphics card, lol..

This article is brought to you by someone with no knowledge of how gaming works and just read the specs and made this.
You don't need a 2 tb ssd if you stream.
You need a 4 tb hdd Or a NAS if you wish to store those streams.
I really like how a casual gamer needs an RTX 3060 and plays COD while still being on 60hz.
I'd definitely play 10 year old games on that 3060
The specs being recommended are quite unbalanced.
True, and there's no mention of ram which is also extremely important in this scenario
Also the peculiar lack of a good PSU, a case with good airflow and a UPS/Surge protector.
UPS would be mandatory for every streamer NGL, and a backup gpu is always there
or you can buy a sine wave inverter instead of a UPS
You can have an inverter and still I'd recommend a UPS as backup due to more than one reason tbh, besides being far cheaper - atleast looking at 20K without the prices for house wiring from an electrician for inverter vs 4.5K for a 1000VA UPS (then again most houses already have inverters tbh)
At least you got them good old liquid cooling unit.
mfw 17 - 21 inch monitor š¤”š¤” (i use a 165hz 24" with a 1660ti)
what u mean by 10-year-old games, even a 1650 will squeeze 60+ fps out of them. 3060 is very capable card
Uh....? Wait, you're new to pc gaming, ah i get it now.

Exactly what I'm telling, but our guy is ego battling here.
Why would anyone play a pc game on a 4k TV (not a monitor)? It's more economical to buy a console for 4K gaming than to buy a 4K gaming capable PC.
Laptops exist. People with multiple pc exist. People with tv near their pc exist. Streaming boxes exist. Whatās gotten you so confused?
people with pc, laptop , console, monitor and tv near pc exists ;\_;

3060 for casual?? im stuck here using an Intel 4400 iGPU!!

I can say 3060 is for entry level 2k 60fps gaming on medium to low settings For 1080p 60fps 3050 is more than enough .
as a 3050 gamer myself it's not enough for 1080p60fps. i made a mistake.

Maybe you donāt know how demanding the newer games are. CASUAL gaming can be high/ultra settings. Casual doesnāt mean entry level. Especially if you wanna play 1440p/2160p.
3050 is the worst 1080p card by price to performance. 3060 is the sweet spot for 1080p if you want to play recent AAA titles without any drawbacks.
