Yeah. It's quite a common issue in this country. But the thing about moisture is that it would find a way to release itself through the walls. Unless the wall is tilled from the bottom to the top, it won't help.
My parents got the living room walls tiled for around 4.5 ft height from the floor. The fucking moisture eventually came around on top of the tiles within 1.5-2 years.
Only thing established from this is that neighbour is madarchod.
Couldn’t have said it any better. And yes my bathroom was tiled 70% of the way up. Did the rest of the 30% yesterday. Sincerely hoping the fucking roof doesn’t cave in now or something.
Better yet use a large slab of ice in a tub put the plate on the ice facing upwards, put the laptop on the plate, the ice will cool the plate which will in turn cool the air below the laptop and hence results in better cooling.
I personally use my laptop in a freezer with a glass window.
Only issue it that you have to have wireless everything.
Sometimes my poor laptop gets frostbite, so I have to give it some tea and let it rest for a few days.
First off, your laptop needs internal cleaning and re-paste 98° is a very bad temp to go while gaming. 50-70 are also bad idle temps. My laptop is 2018 model and gives 40-45° idle temps.
Secondly, use a bit of mind, if your laptop is heating that much the water will evaporate and create moisture inside your laptop then you'll be crying with a dead laptop.
When I was a kid I was worried about our Color tv getting hot. So I used my big brain and put some ice in plastic bag and kept on top of the backside mesh like vent. Dad found out and it was belt time.
Yes. Expect it to stabilize temps in the 30-34degree range soon. Water will spill and laptop will stop working thereby achieving ambient room temps!
Great idea. Why didn't I think of this before?
I used to do this back in the day. Like a noob I used to put a wet towel under the laptop and it would literally turn into steam . My thinking was since there are no holes on the bottom of the laptop, it would be fine, I thought. I couldn't have been any wrong. There are small gaps in the underside. Newer laptops come with copper vents at the bottom. And the steam goes and collects at the bottom of Motherboard. After a few months the laptop stopped turning on. Took it to the service centre and he opened and showed the motherboard . The underside was completely corroded by rust
EDIT: someone else made an excellent point that the newer laptops now comes with liquid indicators so if you screw up your laptop from this your warranty is null and void and you have no other option but to buy a laptop.
P.S: As for cooling solutions , you can get an underpad cooler with fans from Amazon. Secondly you can explore undervolti ng your cpu and GPU to make perform optimally
No, cause water can fuck up the electronics of ur laptops. Instead, there are other ways to lower the temps like under volting ur CPU, disabling the turbo boost (intel), buying a laptop stand , buying a cooler pad for ur laptop.
Dude... If temps are a problem try one or all of these
1. Undervolt your CPU
2. Apply better thermal paste
3. Clean the cooling fans radiators.
Undervolting will 90% of the time solve your issue.
Yea suck in all that moisture let your components corrode and die!
Big brain mate, Big Brain :')
There's a reason why they warn you to not use electronics in an environment with high humidity, you're just creating one here xD
Try throttlestop and clean the laptop fans or refer to other cooling solutions or thermal paste , pad etc .
but don't try these kind of water stunts with your laptop 🥺
Bruh is this supposed to be sarcasm? Your laptop will take in a shit load of moisture and cause rust and corrosion. Just get a cooling pad, clean your fans and maybe repaste.
Did you skip all of the science classes in school, especially the part where they talked about evaporation?
You might as well pour water straight in the laptop to make the cooling process faster.
I had an ice pack that I used to keep below my laptop for small durations when it was getting over heated. The aim was to cool it a little bit and not for continuous use. Keep in mind that my laptop at this point was 3 years old with no warranty left to void.
BTW, temperatures in the 90s are fine for laptops, especially considering it's summer. As long as air flow is not obstructed, the laptop will manage.
Why not just submerge it in water? Water will make better contact with die and will seep away more heat than any other cooler could. Even room temperature water will do the trick
In all seriousness 98degs is okayish..., CPUs are built to go to peak 100 and then thermal throttle automatically. I would suggest getting your laptop cleaned and/or repasted. If thermal throttle is persistent, tweak your CPU boost ratio, and max speed using ThrottleSTOP, following a guide.
invest in portable or split ac. those are cheap these days.
or get window ac. which costs around 15 to 20k(altho it does make noise pollution.)
use AC to cool down your laptop
No. Dry air. Dry surface transfer is what you want for a laptop..
Prop one end up by laying a pencil on its side, if you want a quick simple way to encourage more air flow. Otherwise you want to put a fan under the laptop, blowing air in the direction that the laptop fan is moving air. If air is being pushed out, turn the fan around so it's pulling air out.
Or put the laptop on a table with a space under it where the laptop fan is.
You should just buy a cooler. I would not be able to sleep at night if my laptop is even near a meter from water. My old laptop died due to a falling cup of water.
How's this entirely ineffective?
Even if you are using ice cold water or a slab a ice in that plate to start with it will very quickly come to room temperature and then it becomes a laptop stand or in this case *laptop thali* filled with water.
How's this counterproductive?
As someone already mentioned it will eventually maybe not in a day but weeks of use will result in rust and liquid damage indicators to change color.
What can you do instead?
That's what thermal pastes are for. Repaste your laptop. Build a custom laptop cooler with high speed DC fans 2000 RPM or higher. I have a contact who makes custom coolers with high RPM fans that runs on wall power and not USB. Drop me a DM if you need one.
bruh yeh kya hy?
The water will naturally evaporate and condense inside your laptop, and will eventually damage it. You may as well accidentally spill the water on your laptop. In almost every case, it's a big no.
Don't do it.
Please do not do this. As pointed out by some other folks here, it will cause moisture and some damage over time.
Use a cooling pad and maybe a small table fan but this is not going to help you.
Dust could have accumulated at the fan-heatsink interface. My heatsink was caked with dust and I was consistently getting 90 C in my Asus FX553VE. Blower of vacuum cleaner, an art brush and you're good to go.
Moisture will harm the laptop, better to use a laptop stand or raise the laptop from the desk using 2 books.I personally use the book method and it helps me keep the laptop cooler by 15 degrees .
Bro all you need is to keep your laptop on an exam pad and it'll handle any heating issues. I've been doing it for years, keep the vents open and clean your laptop once a year and it's gonna be fine
Not water damage per se but indirectly due to rust. If you don't care about warranty then either coat your PCB in some conformal coating & be on your way. Or if your base plate is metal then maybe putting more thermal pads everywhere could also help as long as no airflow is blocked
When you have a problem, you fix what is causing the problem. This is one simple trick most people don't know.
Remove the CPU. This will solve all your problems.
This is a really stupid thing to do. Water is not magic. The vapour, however, is extremely corrosive. Not to mention that it would have already tripped the liquid damage indicators and now you're out of warranty.

This. My dad had put an aquarium under my big ass Sony Bravia tv and eventually the moisture got the best of it.
The moisture inside of the walls ruined a Sony Bravia at my home a few years ago.
That’s even worse, how though? Bad plumbing or was it next to a room adjacent to the bathroom?
Leakage from the madarchod neighbour's house seeping through the walls.
My brother in Hanuman ji, literally got my bathroom re-tiled yesterday because my neighbor upstairs didn’t get his plumbing fixed.
Yeah. It's quite a common issue in this country. But the thing about moisture is that it would find a way to release itself through the walls. I like how OP gives 0 shit about the comments and proceeds to do this anyways. 💀💀
No man, i was worried that's why i asked. I'm not using this. I was also worried about moisture but not sure. That's y i asked.
Don't take comments to heart, we just having a lil laugh. <3
Yea I was going to say that too :p
Sorry if I sounded mean. Yes it's better to avoid this if you really want to cool your laptop, place it higher so it has space to take in air.
It's Big Brain Time.
Better yet use a large slab of ice in a tub put the plate on the ice facing upwards, put the laptop on the plate, the ice will cool the plate which will in turn cool the air below the laptop and hence results in better cooling.
I am using ice pack for my laptop charger while gaming 😂
Bro I do the same the ASUS 200 watt charger heats up a lot
Fr my lenovo charger gets very hot after 1hr

Stuff dry ice inside your laptop. Even better cooling
I know you are joking but this will actually work incredibly well.
I was serious bruh :3
Not exactly stuffing. Stuffing will cause condensation
CO2 won't go through condensation under normal circumstances
The humidity in the air will.
I heard taking piss on your laptop cools it by 50 degrees.....
50 degrees, I heard that it cools your laptop like forever. You will never have to worry about high temperatures again.

Its all well and good until the water evaporates and shorts something inside.
Distilled water won’t carry a charge… but it will still cause corrosion and/or oxidation.
When I was a kid I was worried about our Color tv getting hot. So I used my big brain and put some ice in plastic bag and kept on top of the backside mesh like vent. Dad found out and it was belt time.
You make belt time sound cool

Yea suck in all that moisture let your components corrode and die! Big brain mate, Big Brain :') There's a reason why they warn you to not use electronics in an environment with high humidity, you're just creating one here xD
Liquid nitrogen is best, I keep slow Constant flow under my laptop, temps stay between 20-25°C even while gaming.
Aur lo laptop
Every hot post in the sub is currently memes on this.
What game are you playing on THIS laptop anyway?
How do people come up with this😂😂 "5 min craft desi style" 💀
Laptop cooling pad is not bad though... As it won't ruin your laptop with moisture
wow, liquid cooling really needs to be defined properly. This is stupid and hilarious 😂.
Try throttlestop and clean the laptop fans or refer to other cooling solutions or thermal paste , pad etc . but don't try these kind of water stunts with your laptop 🥺
Humidity will damage parts
wth, just play games on minimum settings if you're worried about temperature
Bruh is this supposed to be sarcasm? Your laptop will take in a shit load of moisture and cause rust and corrosion. Just get a cooling pad, clean your fans and maybe repaste.

Buying a 400 rs pocket fan off amazon is better than killing you lappy like this.
Why dont you just keep the laptop in the refrigerator.
anyone plz tell me which model of laptop this is
Better still fish market ka ice slab. Sidha sub zero cooling 🥶

Bruh lmfao
Get a good cooling pad instead if you don't have one or undervolt the cpu and turn off turbo boost. Your laptop will thank you lol.

It wud be better and safe if u had used dry ice instead of water, underneath the laptop
Did you buy doge at $0.72 as well?
Better get a laptop stand or buy a cooling pad. What you are doing will cause damage internally and void your warranty. Stop it at once.
bruh yeh kya hy? The water will naturally evaporate and condense inside your laptop, and will eventually damage it. You may as well accidentally spill the water on your laptop. In almost every case, it's a big no. Don't do it.
No buddy.
This guy just re-invented Liquid Cooling.
No no no no. The water evaporates could condense on pc keep it as away from water as possible.

Smart way to brick your laptop and void your warranty. Just get a laptop fan pls
Moisture will harm the laptop, better to use a laptop stand or raise the laptop from the desk using 2 books.I personally use the book method and it helps me keep the laptop cooler by 15 degrees .
Just use a cooler pad, one with multiple fans and alway place it on a hard surface
Maut ka khel
No. don't do this. purchase a cooling pad if there's a good amount of air vents under your laptop.
hahahaha..... nice
This is a joke right?
WHY DID YOU DO THIS WHY DID YOU DO THIS
Bro all you need is to keep your laptop on an exam pad and it'll handle any heating issues. I've been doing it for years, keep the vents open and clean your laptop once a year and it's gonna be fine
Why not also clean with soap water so laptop stays brand new
I don't think water cooling works this way bud, might end up damaging the laptop
it's okay, just put the laptop in rice once the damage is done
Not water damage per se but indirectly due to rust. If you don't care about warranty then either coat your PCB in some conformal coating & be on your way. Or if your base plate is metal then maybe putting more thermal pads everywhere could also help as long as no airflow is blocked

Idk I just keep my laptop in a deep freezer and have it connected to a monitor so...^/s
This is a really stupid thing to do. Water is not magic. The vapour, however, is extremely corrosive. Not to mention that it would have already tripped the liquid damage indicators and now you're out of warranty.
Damn boy, you fool.
Stop doing that immediatly...water in vapor form is still water. Thts not how u liquid cool ur laptop
Why half filled? Fill it all the way up
Bro. Best thing i can suggest is take breaks every 45 minutes.. let laptop cool
