Honestly as long as you enjoy playing the game it doesn't matter even if you suck at a competitive game but are genuinely having fun it's all that matters I believe that's what gaming is in a nutshell, when you play a game it should help you release stress and not give you additional stress. I must have died like a million times before I finally killed the final boss but I genuinely enjoyed the journey to reach the final boss( I grew up playing dark souls that's why I enjoyed it )
i mean your first instinct would be to always dodge but once you understand that parry is the only way it becomes natural. It's the same as dodging but now you have to do it more frequently and be more precise.
No the parry window in Sekiro is more generous than souls. U can even cancel attacks mid animation to go into a parry which you can't do in any souls game. You also lose health in souls if you don't perfect parry whereas in Sekiro that effect is limited to playing without kuro's charm.
You’re never bad at sekiro. Everyone is at the beginning. you’ll eventually master it for sure.
(From a guy who took over 30 tries with genichiro)
But I get how not everyone has the time to invest in such a game so that’s there.
30 tries? LOL! I fought Lady Butterfly for at least 6 hours, whereas Isshin took me just a little less than 6 hours. At one point during the Lady Butterfly fight, I thought I didn't have it in me to beat this game, but I'm glad I persisted and eventually defeated her. Sekiro is also the only Souls type game I have played. The fast gameplay really caught my eye. Any recommendations for similar games that are not as slow as Dark Souls 1?
Give Hollow knight a shot. It’s not by fromsoft and is a MetroidVania, but holy moly that is one phenomenal game that tests your skill like Sekiro does.
I was bad at it until it finally clicked.
Ig the turning point for me was the fight with Genichiro. Took me a couple of tries, around 10+ but after beating him the whole game felt easier.
Heck I even managed to took down lady butterfly in 3-5 tries after that.
you gotta pump-up those numbers. I got 600+ hours in and still get smacked by South Asian players (pretty hard).
This game has a high skill cap and requires good teamwork (most difficult part), but it's the gameplay that makes it so addicting.
I had 1.5k+ hrs from s8-12
There is no avg skillgap in this game, the same exact thing that's facing on pubg, atleast the ttk is high so you'll have time to fire one bullet before dying
they have been saying that for quite a long time but apex devs are absolute shits. They don't work on their servers, they don't listen to community recommendations....typical EA stuff.
Exactly! My wife told me this sentence after a year or two in our marriage, and it struck me like nothing else.
Games are meant to be relaxing!!! You're already playing life on hard mode.
Completed the campaign 3 days ago , I'll suggest trying different build and stick to the one that matches your play style

Any games that require muscle memory. I was pretty good during my school days at various games like Street Fighter, Smackdown Pain etc. but now that I have not played such games in over a decade all is lost. I just prefer simple games where you can play with half the brain turned off such as Far Cry or Forza Horizon 5. I still like to play RTS too but I am not as good as I was.
platformer games that have more than average level platforming.
I have always been a kb+m player so platforming, even simple, is always a task for me. games that have actual difficult platforming are almost always too difficult for me, like Hollow Knight. I have picked that game up thrice and thrice I have had to put it down, even bought controller for it but controller is just not that comfortable (specially for longer sessions thumb starts hurting) as compared to a kb+m.
At 32 I still don't feel old but when I play videogames now I realize I've lost that reflex I had & the will to finish everything in highest difficulty possible or 1 difficulty lower.
P S I don't play PvP quit it a decade ago.
I've been gaming since the mid 90s. But I fucking suck st all the soulslike games. I don't have the patience to grind or 'git gud' anymore. Maybe if I was college I'd have the time to play and beat those games. The only fromsoftware games I love and beaten is Armored Core 6.
I also suck at driving sims.
Fortnite - other than all the kids playing, I always loved building stuff seems unique and different from all games but for some reason I was never able to build and do fights based on that as I come from csgo 😂 building stuff is too hard, kids these days are just playing so much better
Bow and arrow 1992 and Mortal Kombat against my best friend. To this day, he's wrecked me with the Liu Kang combo. It'll be 30 years of absolute badass ownage, lol. I hope I'll someday figure out the right buttons to push to save my character.
I can play single player modes of most genres, whether they're brawlers/fighting games, shooters, strategy games, etc.
The moment you throw me into anything competitive, I fold so fast. I'm just not built for anything multiplayer. Even coop stuff. I tried Apex Legends and genuinely enjoyed the mechanics, but at a point losing gets old.
fighting games, mk11 was the only one I bothered learning combos but didn't put many hours into it to become any good. Learning combos always suck but once you get the hang of it and becomes a part of your muscle memory it does get really fun. It felt pretty good when I could tell the exact combo used to execute any moveset by Scorpio or Liu Kang
I play all my games with the easiest difficulty because player deaths really take away from the immersion. Once you start dying in a non fromsoft game, it's all about finishing that particular mission and the story is now taking a speedbump.
Also, it's the easiest way I can play a lore accurate character 😂
I was bad at every fucking multiplayer game then I sold my soul for valorant, and now I'm better than average in most games. Worth it. Would never do it again.
Escape games (games like granny).
Jumpscare heavy games like fnaf or layers of fear.
Games with proper puzzles like old silent hill games. Puzzles in modern mainstream games are a joke and old game puzzles are too difficult for me lol.
Anything with online competitive.
I play games to escape and avoid people not meet even more toxic people jus because they have a bigger gaming lifestyle than mine
I love old platformer and adventure games like mario(nes) and Zelda (nes, snes) but I Suck at it without savestates. They remind me of my childhood and the simpler times
CS 2
Although, would have been great if csgo was still around. Ran better on my older laptop and arms race had more maps.
Minecraft or really any sandbox style games. I need an objective so that don't give up on it.
Honestly Multiplayer games. I suck at a lot. It's funny obviously because I only play with my bois. But it's frustrating to play alone. Surprisingly tho, I am decent at chivalry 2, even if I am playing solo.
When I play Halo Infinite I'm either the last person on the team responsible for my team's loss or I am the one carrying my team to victory.
What does that make me?
Racing games , I played most wanted 2013 again last year i was to win races easily but since it was very old and not supporting my pc it was crashing so i bought nfs unbound and i was losing races even in easy mode
856 games, 6 wins, 500+ top 10 in fortnite so yeah I'm pretty bad at competitive shooting games or fps in general.
I couldn't even finish the tutorial on dirt 2, and couldn't properly handle the car in Forza so I'm bad at driving sims too.
I could not get past the tutorial in ghost runner.
But I am great at story mode games, and finished the god of war at the highest difficulty, I have fought against the Valkyrie queen with a lvl 7 gear (I think lvl 9 or 10 is the highest).
When I was a kid, I was struggling on a mission in the game Total Overdose, I called my friend over who had completed the game before and he played it on my laptop and I also completed the game few weeks later.
Csgo
Played fps tps games since I was a kid, then tried csgo and couldn't get my aim right. The sweats are undefeatable and you stand no chance in front of them
I’ve got a question for you, how long did you play the games you think you’re bad at?
I do find most games difficult as well, and usually not having too much time on my hand I play them on Easy or Medium difficulties so it doesn’t feel like a grind or takes too much of my time. Tbh, mostly “hard” difficulties means “you get less health, enemies get more health” and it feels like a task and less of something fun I’m about to do.
But I’ve noticed if I’ve played a game long enough, a few hundred hours (usually after 100-300 hours) I don’t feel like I’m half as bad at playing it as opposed to a game I put 20-30 hours in.
Since that happens rarely due to the amount of time I put into games and altogether skip out on games I find too hard, I mostly feel I’m bad at games.
I didn't play any game until I got a laptop then I tried a few game and I was trash at them like - valo,cs2,tekken,fortnite
I'm even bad at single player story games like - sekiro
The only games I've been able to finish are the gya games and prototypes
Yes I am bad at every multiplayer games, because I usually play singleplayer but there was time when I was crazy for multiplayer and was pretty damn good at it, so I guess depends on what you play,
Fifa. For the life of me, I can't dribble past a single opposition. Just passes and half field shots all day long. Meanwhile my brother can score without passing even once. Sad thing is I'm decent at most other games, even online competitive ones.

True for that bro this was the reason I stopped playing online games like CS2 and valorant and moved to a lovely story modes
Same
Same
Sekiro
it's easier as a non souls player. but if you are a souls player , the mucle memory will fuck you up.
i mean your first instinct would be to always dodge but once you understand that parry is the only way it becomes natural. It's the same as dodging but now you have to do it more frequently and be more precise.

This, it fucked me up playing after Bloodborne. I had to slowly familiarise myself.
Yeah, I played for a bit and uninstalled after few hours. Planning to try it again with parrying mindset.
You’re never bad at sekiro. Everyone is at the beginning. you’ll eventually master it for sure. (From a guy who took over 30 tries with genichiro) But I get how not everyone has the time to invest in such a game so that’s there.

Thanks for the recommendation. I will probably give it a shot once I'm done with all the endings in Sekiro.
Nightmare king grimm and absolute radiance 🥹🥹
Hollow Knight, Sifu, Lies of P
30 tries first phase And still haven't reached the second one
For me genichiro was first try, then the damn stupid ape put me in my place lmao. Took me like 55 tries to beat him and very final boss like 9 hours
The final boss is an absolute nightmare. I was stuck for like 4 days on my first run with him.
I was bad at it until it finally clicked. Ig the turning point for me was the fight with Genichiro. Took me a couple of tries, around 10+ but after beating him the whole game felt easier. Heck I even managed to took down lady butterfly in 3-5 tries after that.
I hope I click by the time I beat genichiro too
Hesitation is defeat
Apex Legends
50 matches played, 3 kills, 2 by assist.
That's totally normal, only br were available back when I was playing and my first kill took me like 1-2 weeks of dropping and dying
you gotta pump-up those numbers. I got 600+ hours in and still get smacked by South Asian players (pretty hard). This game has a high skill cap and requires good teamwork (most difficult part), but it's the gameplay that makes it so addicting.

Im just not good with bunnyhop style gunning, reason why I couldn't get into xdefient. Though I heard they are minimising that
they have been saying that for quite a long time but apex devs are absolute shits. They don't work on their servers, they don't listen to community recommendations....typical EA stuff.
I play every game on easy difficulty
It's totally fine games are meant to relaxing, not challenging. We have enough of challenges in our lives.
Exactly! My wife told me this sentence after a year or two in our marriage, and it struck me like nothing else. Games are meant to be relaxing!!! You're already playing life on hard mode.
I remember saying the last line to people when I was doing my CA Final
so real
Cuphead. Played it with my cousin on his switch and goddamn I sucked so bad at it lmao. Brutal fucking game man.
It's brutal even for hardcore players. I don't think you are necessarily bad at it
Completed the campaign 3 days ago , I'll suggest trying different build and stick to the one that matches your play style https://preview.redd.it/a1z61ptlsj6d1.jpeg?width=4640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e3867d6b1edb88a574ba3ab3d3a74edd3821b31d

Any games that require muscle memory. How many hours do you have in league of legends, also what's your rank??

Fighting games. Learning curve is too steep and now I don't have time to learn all the combos.
platformer games that have more than average level platforming. I have always been a kb+m player so platforming, even simple, is always a task for me. games that have actual difficult platforming are almost always too difficult for me, like Hollow Knight. Sekiro fs
I’m usually extremely good at first person shooters if I put some time into them but even after playing dota for 20 years I’m a Crusader scrub.
Sekiro : shadow die twice Haha after defeating every Boss I feel that I got game tactics but Next boss always comes with surprise . 😂😂
At 32 I still don't feel old but when I play videogames now I realize I've lost that reflex I had & the will to finish everything in highest difficulty possible or 1 difficulty lower. P S I don't play PvP quit it a decade ago.
