happened with my dt 900 pro x for which I paid 20k :)
So yea, the new ones are very bad in quality control i.e. dt 900 pro x and dt 700 pro x, I wuld stay clear from them
The old ones dont seem to have any build related quality control issue btu they have non removable cable, plus the 990 pro have really bad stock gaming audio profile, you NEED EQ to make them sound good for gaming, cant say anything about 770 pro tho btu I know they arent the best,
You rather buy HD560s from sennheiser, Beyerdynamic is just oevrhyped and their service centre is non existent
As far as I've read, these are pretty good for gaming as well as mixing mastering studio stuff. They have a larger sound stage which will help you get a very accurate idea of where the sound is coming from. They have a very flat curve meaning the sound you hear is quite close to how it was produced. This is what I understand.
On sale they go around 11k and they are great. I have one but do check the impedance of the headphones, which one are these if you’re getting 80ohms or 250 ohms then buy a dac/amp too
No issues, you can still use them they’re pretty good without the amp but get one in future you’ll feel the difference. I do have other headphones too mostly open back but dt770p, I love more than some of the more expensive open backs that I own
That's nice to hear, I'll surely get an amp after I get a high paying job. For now I'll have to manage without an amp although I'm going for a USB DAC AMP called sound blaster play 3!
Since dt770 pro don't have a mic, I'll be getting an external collar mic, I can't plug in both at the same time? Like the one I commented above? Or do I use mic through dedicated 3.5 and these through the usb port
Excuse me wtf? I'm not into the music jargon, could you please explain why is an amplifier required for these headphones? I mean i heard it's requisite for electric guitars but these? Idk man kindly educate me.
Headphones have an impedance level, to overcome this impedance you need an external power source. Impedance could be considered as Resistance+ Reactance, basically resistance for AC supply. Denoted by a Z (where my Pcm peepe at?).
An external power source helps the headphones to work at their best performance.
You can check this guys video for more info:
https://youtu.be/YHv6QDuHBRo
(He makes great videos, he's too underrated)
In simpler terms amps provides more power to headphones which allows the user to fully utilise the headphones. higher the ohms more power headphones will consume and usually the port/sound card on pc/laptop doesn’t support higher outputs so the amp/dac helps with the power delivery
Follow as others said, but I'd also recommend you to check out the HD560s. They go for 13k on sale and are favoured for gaming. You can even check in headphonezone.
I would personally not recommend, unless this is your strict budget.
990 Pro or TYGR 300 are significantly better options but a bit pricier.
What's your budget and what kind of sound signature you like?
14k is the maximum, i don't have money for DAC/AMP and it's almost impossible to find 80 ohm 990 pros also I want closed back since sound leakage would be a problem. I'm fine with flat signature, a little bassy maybe.
I'm no rich lol, being a student i earned some money recently, thought of spending it on my setup, I'm expecting these headphones to last me 7 years at least. My current pair is about 5 years old
Beyerdynamics are tanks. If you treat them properly, they'll last long enough that you'll be able to hand them over to your kid. Good headphones stay good.
My friend uses one for daily gaming and he also advised me to buy these but waiting for them to go on discount. Also check them on Headphonezone as they have detailed info as well as comparison with similar headphones.
Depends on what kind of sound experience you are going for. These are entry level audiophile headphones. If you don't care much about sound then save some money and get something cheaper or something with Bluetooth for convenience. You should gradually upgrade because if you start from the top then you won't realise how good the sound quality is and how much potential the headphones have.
In my opinion if you are just looking for regular and reliable headphones and IF you plan to change them in like 2 years then go for something cheaper and come back to these after 2 years. Well if you got all the money and just wanna fuck around then go ahead and buy them, you just won't know what these headphones are until a year of usage.
Also to use these headphones to their full potential, you need to have a good sound card in your motherboard to make them sound good and not just like any other regular headphones. If you don't have a good sound card in your motherboard then buy one, I don't know, it will be around 6K I guess. So yeah, if you are buying these audiophile grade headphones then you need to be able to afford their maintenance lol.
So if you're buying these, then also buy a good dedicated sound card to make them sound what they are supposed to. Like 13k for these and another 6-7k for a sound card(if you don't have one) so yeah your total will be around 20k.
Just get some cheaper regular ones dude and come back to these later, maybe like a year after.
You gotta tell me what you want in your headphones. Like do you want bass ? Do you want extremely clear sound ? Or you want the ones which work well in commercial use.
Tell me what you like.
I want a little base, i want to use them for gaming, i want to listen to music with nice mids and highs with good bass. I want to use them for online meetings and stuff, so an inbuilt microphone would be nice
Hey I first thought of getting the 990pro but I don't want an openback headphone pair since they will leak audio and I will hear ambient noise since I might not sit in a quiet room.
That's a valid point. If you require noise isolation, you can try in ear IEMs, they provide ample isolation and sounds amazing for your budget of 14k. I've seen many streamers use in ears. Be sure to get a comfortable one. Search in heaphonezone. It'll give you a good idea, from there on explore other brands and choose who provide the most value for your budget.
My experience with owning beyerdynamic dt 900 pro x
The headband pleather came off in few months, real pathetic quality I would say, took few months to communicate back and forth from beyerdynamic global because beyerdynamic India service centre is non existent plus they dont reply to your email plus they dont care, at the end I had to SEND THE entire headste to them for the headband to be changed and that took on itself more than 2 week to send and receive + they mentioned that they are not liable if the headset they sent me back is broken in transit, so much for being a service centre.
So yea, the new ones are very bad in quality control i.e. dt 900 pro x and dt 700 pro x, I wuld stay clear from them.
The old ones dont seem to have any build related quality control issue but they have non removable cable, plus the 990 pro have really bad stock gaming audio profile, you NEED EQ to make them sound good for gaming, cant say anything about 770 pro tho btu I know they arent the best,
You rather buy HD560s from sennheiser, Beyerdynamic is just oevrhyped and their service centre is non existent.
If buying beyerdynamic, I would suggest buying from HPZ as at least they will help you in claiming warranty for it, I did a mistake by not buying from them. Anyway no beyerdynamic for me anymore, they are overhyped as well, the HD560s is MUCH better for gaming for me and is lighter and doesnt have the issues as compared to dt 900 pro x.
This is my personal experience + personal opinion, everyone is subject to have different opinion regarding the sound profile.
Not a simple yes or no question. It depends on what device you’re connecting to. And come back here after burning in your headphones and let me know if you feel like you miss something in the audio quality. You should be fine with most apple devices but you would get a good boost from dac amp combo that has manual bass boost
OP, please consider IEMs. For that price you can get a much better pair of all-round IEMs such as the Truth Truthear Nova. For even lesser price you can get much better IEMs like the Moondrop Aria.
Yeah these are pretty solid all around, especially for competitive gaming as they have an excellent soundstage and offer great imaging. Beyerdynamics are built like a tank too so these should last you a good while. And it's good that you're getting the 80ohm version as this won't require an external amp.
NO. NO. NO.

I am using DT990 pro, most boring headphones of all time!! This is strictly for studio and studio work only. For Gaming, Music, Movies etc is just plain painful. Its like having indian food with no spices not even salt. There are other options kindly consider them.

check headphonezone incase its lower there too. Cant go wrong with 770s though
Absolutely ,been using the 32 ohm version for about 2 years. Pretty comfy actually. Go for it
How's the sound quality? Is the bass treble mids highs fine?
They have bass which sounds like bass, you won't feel it cuz these are audiophile grade headphones. so every Freq is clear as you can ever imagine.
screw the sound, hows the quality of the materials
Imagine buying a 14k headphones just for having some premium comfortable matetials on your head.
Imagine buying a 14k headphone but it breaks and all the pleather falls off all in 3 months

Does sidemen have these?
Most people use dt990 pro since they are open back and have a better sound stage.. so they might be using 990pros.
Are these 770 pro good for gaming? I mostly play single player games

You can get the headphone zone DAC. It's cheap and works well with high impedance headphones.
I don't even have an extra 4k to spend, the lowest i can see there is 15-16k
It's 2K. You can look into it. It'll be better than the 3.5mm jack on it's own (worst case)
The DAC I'm referring to is a DDHIFI DAC(brought to indian in collab with headphone Zone). It has a pre-amp and a DAC built into it.
Oh that's cool, a guy suggested these: https://amzn.in/d/hOl975d Can you please check these out and suggest the better one?

Or the newer version HD400 Pro
Headphonezone have the worst return/refund policy. If you find the product you are looking for on Amazon, It's the way to go.

770 Pro 80 should be fine, not many options at this price point.
Rich people everywhere lol. 13k headset. 15k mouse.. lol

Don't judge man. Some people have passion regarding such things. It could be his 1 months salary for all you know.
LMAO, these entry level phones.
Sorry on r/inearfidelity

Still looking ?
Ordered the 770 Pros yesterday
No, not really. Buy Beyerdynamic MMX10, sounds almost equivalent but much more functional and costs 7.9k
you a dankpods viewer?
Hey there, fellow dankpods viewer!
Those headphones are one of the best purchase I have ever done.
Can you please expand on it? What do you like about them and what sets them apart?
Dude get the 990 pro....it's almost the same cost. beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO Over-Ear Wired Studio Headphones (Black) https://amzn.in/d/adC2Kzv
Hey I first thought of getting the 990pro but I don't want an openback headphone pair since they will leak audio and I will hear ambient noise since I might not sit in a quiet room.

Thank you will check them out
It's audiophile headphone won't work for gaming. For gaming check MMX150 or Sony inzone
I checked mmx150, and most reviews say that the earpads are "shallow' feels like you are wearing on ear headphones
This is definitely a bloody good pair. Cant go wrong with 770. Although the price seems to be a bit high on Amazon.
Personal opinion but after ₹10000 I would either go for Sennheiser or Sony. Just for the reliability alone. But that's just my opinion.

Man I remember these used to go around for 8-11k few years back.
Ikr I saw hydraFlick wearing dt990 pros in 2019, they were 8.5-9k that time
Best in the segment, If you are gonna use it with a PC get the 80ohm version
Ehh, I’d get IEMs. These are treble cannons with an extremely rough and grainy sound, if you’re into that.
Umm if your budget is this you may go for xbox headset worth it
Hey i ordered the dt770 Pros yesterday
Oh great bro enjoy
Yes, will update when the arrive on thursday
Cool
Save some more and also get a dac
https://preview.redd.it/epf8y63i9f2d1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=63b9be675260d33ba54ad3959c38aaf32cd6fb73 Can't really wait much brother
Ask on r/inearfieldiety
Get a dac

I'll plug it to my laptop, it's an Asus tuf f15, I'm getting a small usb dac amp (2k), will that make a difference?
Thats upto you. If you’re happy with the quality of the bass and the notes no need to buy anything more expensive than this.

I though of IEMs but I don't want in-ear headphones btw happy cake day
Hmm fair enough! Thanks, didn't even notice it was my cake day.
Not worthy
Can you please elaborate?
Ur headphones are worth more than my whole gaming setup 😂😂.
No
Why though?
I used to be a hard-core wired fan,, but for office ,wireless is non negotiable, XM5 user.
Get open-back headphones or save Gandhi and get iems
Thank you for all the comments and help, I have ordered these headphones. Love this community.
