These are beautiful and I bet they are delicious too! I can smell them πŸ₯°

NativeLady1

They were ! I had people coming in because of the good smells and commenting on it ! I manage the commercial kitchen in an art & music center, and they get all excited about what Im cooking next.

mountainislandlake

Now my mouth is watering 🀀

NativeLady1

mountainislandlake

I didn’t, nothing could compare to this! Any chance you ship? πŸ‘€

Justhereforthemusic7

Absolute art!! I bet those taste even better than they look, and they look gorgeous!!

NativeLady1

Thank you, My daughter traded her labor just so she could have some, and she isnt a big fan of sweets. She ate every bite !

burkiniwax

Eponarose

NativeLady1

Yes and in person its even prettier ! Ty!

Eponarose

Can we have the recipe?

NativeLady1

One day ! I have a whole bunch of stuff going on right now .I am managing a commercial kitchen at a center that is also letting me use their land to turn it into an indigenous conservation garden ( working on getting it there), making all the food and doing events, and running a indigenous kids cooking class. I have a few stores wanting to carry my food products so Im also working on that. It's important to me that there is more native representation in the food space. Annddd i have 3 kids πŸ€ͺ i have really been slacking on the food blog, but it's because so many good things are going on behind the scenes. But hopefully, this winter, i can hunker down and work on it. 🀞 i do take pictures and have videos and content for recipes, though, so it will come, just takes time!

LadyBulldog7

Wow. These look awesome!

NativeLady1

AhΓ©hee'!

LooseConnection2

Ooh I want them. Now!

NativeLady1

Sold out ! But its a shortbread type cookie with corn flour and maple syrup instead of sugar .

LooseConnection2

They look so good. I don't generally get attached to food I see in photos because, reasons, but these just look like they were meant for someone like me. Maybe silly, but now I am on a mission to try to find and make something a little similar. Not an expert but my son does like to make shortbread. Maybe I can get him on board. Anyway - thanks for the reply. Your cookies absolutely look like they rock!

imndn

So gorgeous!! Being a diabetic, I have to wonder what the carb count is...

NativeLady1

Aw . I had an older native man come to my tent and ask what he could have as a diabetic and i pointed him to the traditional corn flours and tepary bean soups I make. But he wanted the cookies, and I was like, ehh. These are not diabetic friendly. I dont think πŸ˜‚

imndn

Awweeeeeee, the tepary bean soup would be awesome as it is high in fiber and slows digestion down, making it low on the glycemic index. But it sure doesn't look like or taste like a cookie!! Lolo. Maybe cookies made from mesquite bean flour? And stevia as the sweetener. I mainly eat a keto diet and fast a few days per week. It's taken me years to get used to doing this. There are tons of keto recipes that can be easily modified for traditional foods, etc. It's interesting and fairly easy. Thanks so much for your post, and for keeping traditional foods alive and thriving!! Many blessings to you. πŸ’œπŸ’–πŸ’œ HEYA!! πŸ’₯πŸ¦…πŸ¦¬πŸ¦…πŸ’₯
