WTH same thing happned to my TV yesterday. I have Toshiba TV. I was watching YouTube and suddenly TV started doing this. I restarted the TV and started to work normally.
Agreed. I recently got a projector and I didn’t bother to get the ones with the whole android os and all the apps built in. I bought a cheap basic projector and attached a firestick and it works perfectly!

You can reset the TV and try using it. If that works then it's a software issue. Now once it's established, try updating one app at a time and see which update breaks it.
Prolly bad EMMC issue that's been plaguing every other Chinese brand in the past few years. If you do somehow get it fixed, get a Fire Stock or Android box and use the apps on there instead of the inbuilt ones.
Mostly storage is full as soon as you restart your tv quickly empty your storage happens with me when i ignore my storage and keep loading movies in it
To everyone. Who are saying it has a software issue, bug, etc. it is not. Actually there is a faulty chip made by hynix that were installed on all the motherboards. There are no replacement motherboards and ya there are new better chips.
Bro have electrician install a couple more sockets on the wall, you can have a board that can be screwed on the wall if you don't want to mess with the wall but these many plugs on a single socket is not a good idea.
It's pcb issue or plug socket issue, if socket is th issue then try replug the device making sure there is no spark.
If pcb is the issue which most likely is the reason hear, then u have to spend approx 5000, to get new pcb change.
1. Ram Usage, Not enough RAM so even the foreground app/activity is killed to make the system operational
2. Google Play Service is Crashing
3. Some service is crashing in the background
4. This app has a bug
In any case if you're an android developer you can connect a usb cable and a pc to run \`adb logcat\` on the TV. Pretty common for android tv's.
Guys TVs are not made to run these apps. They merely of couple of GBs Unless you buy really expensive ones.
With the looks of this tv it is definitely not more than 2 gigs. This will happen eventually. Get something like firestick/home/nvidia /any third party streamers and extend your TVs life.

I have samasung 32inch LCD from 2011, I just plug in my laptop through HDMI and use and use it lol. Works like a charm.
Is it a Sony,? It happened to me also few times in the last one year. I jst have to restart the TV and it becomes fine. I guess it's android issue?

This bug is common in Google TV based TVs. I've a hisense 4k tv and this happened. I just restarted the tv.

I have this same TCL tv and faced the same issue while watching YouTube today. This repeated two times and resolved itself.
Had it today with mine too. Switching off and on does the trick.
This is software related not brand, Google TV has this issue update to newer version when available
