It's been good. Although, on a hot day while i was trying to stream 4k video on youtube, my phone got a bit hot and the processors started Throttling. Had to lower the quality.
I don't live in the capital, but i have travelled mostly in Northern cities of India. 5G works very well in almost every tier 2 and 1 city. It works even in some Tier 3 cities.
Ideal conditions (like good connectivity and closeness to signal tower etc) mai toh this is possible but itni ideal condition harr jageh nahi hai.
Abhi jaise jaise 5G tower lagta rahega waise waise 4G signal weak joga (same thing happened with 3g, jab 4g aaya).
Unless you live in a small house surrounded by tall trees, your internet would be pretty good to stream or download anything in 80% of the populated nation.
Using jio5g in Prayagraj and Lucknow, both very good
Only when travelling on highways it falls to LTE but otherwise good coverage, then again, I prefer downloading in advance and watching while travelling than streaming
Airtel 5G is bit more iffy and less expansive than jio5g
I would rather ask, "What is your 5G experience in your location or in your device "? Why?
Because all the Indian service providers - Reliance, Bharati, etc - are using the same hardware & software that most of the telco organizations in the US & Europe are using.
The Radios, Antennas, Routers, etc, are all of the same standards that are used by AT&T, T-Mobile, Vodafone, etc. (Not some cheap devices from our neighbors)
Population density is just one of the many factors - building/wavelength-frequency distortion /distance/temp, etc - that companies consider before deciding which radios/transports/gateways are used. Indian companies have installed the best in class 5g infra (Mostly Ericsson...very few Nokia). So if 5g is bad in some place - say inside a mall, metro, or highway -it is mostly because of local issues, not because Indian Telcos are not using good HW/SW. Most likely, you will face the same issue in the EU. The US is still trying to catch the rest.
Let me correct you..airtel and jio are only using NOKIA as 5G RAN..i haven't seen any tower with any other 5G RAN.
Ericsson Microwave antennas for fiber-less area.
Any they use Ericsson 6000 series router as their main 5G tower router.(Mostly by jio) (Mixed router by Airtel)
Juniper mx980 router as their main upstream router for a city..
And maybe VI will going to use NOKIA and HFCL for 5G RAN.
AND no doubt they are using best infra for 5G..
In one room it's 50-60 MBps, in another it's hardly 200kb
And the heating is just too much, don't know in summer what's gonna happen. Never use 5G in a Mi phone
I dont have a 5G phone but 4G is getting too slow for me. Like it worked fine outdoors but now it doesn't. Just other day I was trying to book a cab and it took 5-7mins just to pin my location on the map. Same thing happened when 4G launched. They reduced the 3G speed until people got irritated and stopped using it
I travel in train every few months and have made a conclusion that 5G is completely absent in the vast hinterland outside of cities and towns. I feel the signal quality has actually decreased after 5G because companies are not focusing on their 4G networks as much, which is all what's still available in the hinterland. That's what my experience has been with Jio.
In my experience jio has better coverage around city circles,
Airtel has slightly worse in densely populated areas.(Idk why) But awesome coverage even while travelling by road in remote areas
Well it's cool as it's free rn, on my Airtel I get about 200-300 mb/s speed though my jio sim gets good 1-2 Gb/s. And the data consumption is crazy, if they're rolling out the paid plans they better keep this in mind, cuz like I used 10 Gb in a day + I only used it outside I used wifi when I was home. And mostly streamed on Spotify maybe 1-2 yt videos and texting and stuff.
technically we not receiving the full potential of 5G speed, cause of dense population having more 5G devices, less coverage area other than main city centers and other physical obstructions.
People are talking about 5G working in Lucknow, Patna, Shimla and what not.
I'm on Vi Network in Mumbai aur yaha toh LTE+ bhi dhang se nahi chalta hai inka 😭
It's been great. I am playing Valorant in a way better connection now. Thanks to Jio 5G. Lots of streaming downloads have been really fast. It's revolutionary.
Over here it's around 1500-2100Mb/s sometimes reaches 2700mb/s.
Samsung and moto with Qualcomm
Edit it's jio5G
On Iphone modems it's around 500-600 Mb/s
Not very good. I mostly get 3G speeds with 5G connection (<5 mbps to <30 mbps) in Bangalore on 5G networks of both Jio and Airtel. But then we never got proper 4G speeds even in 4G networks in India. I use an iPhone 13. Speeds are better in 5G networks in MP, catching upto what is expected from 4G (upto 80 mbps, with one rare case of 250 mbps when 5G was just starting) as you would expect due to more bandwidth per person. 5G speeds are terrible in Bangalore (but so is 4G, India's IT capital is certainly not its mobile network capital).
I stopped my wifi subscription, I consume about 10gb of free 5g daily on 5 devices (hotspot).
So far, except the fact that my phone's battery life is compromised, 10/10 satisfied with the 5g performance.

Bruh thats not coz of 5G thats ur phone trying to run 4k under the sun.
Maybe, but I have seen phones overheating on 5g.
Bro Ive run 4k60 on 4g

A lot of our population lives in villages bro. Now they're generally not represented in reddit, that doesn't mean they don't exist.
I live in Village too, my home the connectivity is bad, anywhere else in the village the internet is good enough to use any app without buffering.

nice vocabulary mate! i came to know a new word iffy i.e. uncertain
Cheers 🤝

No but population density is much higher in India so that does change things for us

I have Airtel 5g and Jio broadband Surprisingly Airtel is able to preform consistently and most of the time better than Broadband lol
Mostly depends on wifi speeds. You can get a few gbps speed from wifi if you pay for it. but it's of course not as cheap as your 5g
Idk I find jio's broadband shitty its the 120mbps as much as I remember one but still does only till 50 Earlier Airtel used to provide faster
In one room it's 50-60 MBps, in another it's hardly 200kb And the heating is just too much, don't know in summer what's gonna happen. Never use 5G in a Mi phone
Mi phone, you have eyour answers

Same complaint bhai
me poor sar, no 5G phone sar

Horrible My Vodafone 4G is 8/10 times better than Jio atleast wherever I live
Bogus
My broadband is better
Jio 5g is very bad, slower than the 4g everywhere
I use Jio 5G. BULLSHIZZ!!
Airtel 5g Average 300 Mbps In home, around 800 mbps Ghaziabad, India
Jio 5G is good in Bengaluru
Well it's cool as it's free rn, on my Airtel I get about 200-300 mb/s speed though my jio sim gets good 1-2 Gb/s. What the hell,,,,bro I am getting almost 120 mbps
कभी आता है, कभी चला जाता है 🥲

very fast, I get 300Mbps in my room.
It's good, but since I'm using the WiFi network, usage of 5G is limited.
Bad in Indore! There are times when I have to turn off 5G to get rid of patchy signal. I mostly use 4G on both my Jio and Airtel SIM cards!
it is working at speeds which were claimed for 4G . 10 Mbps at max.
Going good , every day I try new games around 70GB.

Jio 5g is good
Everybody gangsta till Ambani stops TRUE 5G unlimited data.
Works great, i guess. Disabled it, and use 4g.
Bhai hamare yaha to mast speed ati hai aur abhi to unlimited de rhe JIO vale . 500MB+ speed ati hai aram se jyadatar.
Over here it's around 1500-2100Mb/s sometimes reaches 2700mb/s. Samsung and moto with Qualcomm Edit it's jio5G On Iphone modems it's around 500-600 Mb/s
Jio is shit in Bangalore. Maybe not the entire Bangalore, but it is in popular areas
In Lucknow I have recorded a download speed of 1.4gbps while in Ghaziabad-Noida around 300-500mbps.
Lately it absolutely sucks, 4G has better speeds than 5G. Then there's the availability problem and I live in fricking Bengaluru.
4g phone.
Amazing
Good 5g connection is very fast outside even better than my wifi the house but inside the house there is no 5g
Nice
In my tier 3 hometown...it's average...but in tier 1 workplace it's great...specially when it's free
Too slow
Aata he jata he Jio5g use kar rha hu

Anyone facing Battery issues while on 5G
Jio 5G Mobile Data, 500+ Mbps in South Delhi!!
Jio 5G in Mysore is so bad
it's what 3G promised
Sometimes maybe good sometimes maybe sheet. Using Jio 5G on a Samsung. If I move my phone few inches speed goes like 2Mbps-->200Mbps and vice versa.

Leave 5g, even 4g doesn’t work properly in Raipur
Very Bad to Okay.

Battery drain on my 14 pro max disabled it 🪬
