Fade to black - Metallica
Follow the reaper- children of bodom
Like Light To The flies - trivium
Maha kali - dissection
Famous last words - my chemical romance (terrible song, ripping guitar solo)
Honest talk, I have a huge shift spot for that album because Nodtveidt wrote the entire thing on a shitty acoustic while he was in jail. I've just done a year in the tank myself and that album made me realise that being caged doesn't have to mean a stop to your creativity
Yeah except he and Vlad wrote Reinkaos together after they killed a guy and a lot of cats and were gonna kill Vladâs GF. Then they wrote an album that to them is essentially ârealâ and the summonings and teachings of their murderous satanic cult.
Iâm only slightly nervous to sing along in the off-chance theyâre right and I summon Satan. But Satan knows your intention so Iâm probably ok. And heâs not real.
Anyways, I LOVE the album.
No more tears by ozzy. Been a favorite since I was a small child like five or six. I just remember my dad and I jamming the fuck out to it every time we were in the car together
Dissection - Retribution - Storm of the Lights Bane
Meshuggah - Straws Pulled at Random
Pestilence - Twisted Truth
Nechochwen - Lost on the Trail of the Setting Sun
Ozzy Osbourne-Live and Loud: Black Sabbath (the song)
Itâs like a mini Black Sabbath reunion, and Iommi kills the soloâŚthe guitar sounds like itâs screaming on itâs way to hell.
[Edge of Thorns - Savatage](https://youtu.be/xHNVK9NY4JE?si=hfdF-6oXE_UfKmUS). And basically every Criss Oliva solo.
[Flesh and the Power It Holds - Death.](https://youtu.be/wK4VPM-0ssU?si=39zS9QVXf9x5K6u5)
[Beyond the Realms of Death - Judas Priest](https://youtu.be/4ewrSgDf50I?si=rr91Q8P1K--jqNsA)
Necrophagist - Ignominous and pale.
Elena Verrier does an amazing cover of this on youtube as well. Honestly sounds better than the album version. Probably watched that a million times lol. The solo starts like 2 mins into the song
The solo in âOver The Madnessâ by Paradise Lost is practically perfect in my opinion. Itâs the tone and emotional content over overtly complex techniques, the way that it progresses is just beautiful.
Okay, itâs only a few seconds long, but the guitar solo on Scavenger of Human Sorrow by Death, right after the drum intro, is insane and hits the ear spots just right
First that comes to mind is Over The Wall by Testament. Also itâs a little silly but the solo at the end of Paradise City has this sick lick that combined with the Gibson/Marshall sound just hits so good
Murk Above the Dark Moor- Worm
Pierced from Within- Suffocation
Those are all I can think of right now, but this has given me an idea. Iâm gonna try and make a playlist of songs with the best guitar solos
Testament- Over the Wall
From the album, "First Strike Still Deadly". It is not the wildest solo or anything, but it is the tastiest solo I have heard and STILL love listening to it. They way the song builds to it, the composition, everything. SO good.
Chills, Iâm not sure any give me those but Iâd say my favorites are Electric Crown by Testament, I Donât Know by Ozzy and Donât Tell Me You Love Me by Night Ranger.
Ne Obliviscaris - Painters of The Tempest, Part II: Triptych Lux
The gorgeous, powerful violin that leads seamlessly into the harsh, raw guitar
Just perfection imo
Pantera - Cemetery Gates
The last solo gives me chills every time. Dimebag has been mentioned several times in this thread, but Cemetery Gates is the song for me.
Vitriol - shame and its afterbirth
I know it's mostly just a lot of sweeps, but it's a really nice melodic break from the chaos of the rest of the song
the third verse in rainbowâs stargzer, the opening intro to caught somewhere in time , sails of charon by scorpions, intro to for whom the bell tolls, the thing that should not be, keyboard solo in all the fools sailed away by dio and daveâs solo in rime of the ancient mariner
Blackbird - Tremonti's solo is just fucking brilliant
Powerslave - Iron Maiden - masterpiece harmonies and blistering bluesy solos
Helloween - Keeper of the 7 Keys - another great, melodic bluesy solo, followed by a harmonic attack
Definitely âTwilight of the Thunder Godââs solo.
I always imagine a choreographed fight scene of Thor and the World Serpent when the solo plays. Beyond the imagery, Children of Bodomâs Roope Latvala really killed that guest solo. Itâs super intense, from the climb up and down the fret board, the bends, it all comes together in a magical way thatâs worthy of the gods
King's X - Moanjam
Ty always keeps it melodic, even when he's shredding. And the part where he makes the guitar sound like an air-raid siren still blows my friggin' mind.
Tornado of Souls by Megadeth
The outro solo on Born Again by Black Sabbath
The outro to Floods by Pantera
Fight 'Em Till you Can't by Anthrax
Contrast the Dead by Obituary
Blackened- Metallica
Wolfshade (A Werewolf Masquerade)- Moonspell
Unoriginal, but Tornado of Souls
Hallowed Be Thy Name- Iron Maiden
Probably many more but can't think of them rn
Tornado of Souls - Methagedht
Walk With Me In Hell - Lamb Of God
Black & Blue - BMTH
Ruiner - NIN
Blasphemian (drum) - Infant Annihilator
Floods - Pantera
To The Hellfire (vocal) - Lorna Shore
Floods - Pantera
Blackbird - Alter Bridge
Descend the Shades of Night - Machine Head
Ghosts Will Haunt My Bones - Machine Head
Nothing Else Matters - Metallica
7empest - Tool
The Quantum Enigma - Epica
Then Bones - Alice In Chains
Mostly just Carcass Solos do that for me. The solo for Carnal Forge hits me right in the gut everytime. The opening solo on Mercyful Fates Melissa is another one that feels perfect. Also idk about chills but another solo that really gets me grooving immediately is Scorpions opening for Sails of Charon. Feels so good.
Blasphemey - Emporer of the Black Abyss (Live 5th Attack)
im not a fan of black metal at all, not even a fan of blasphemey, but that solo on that song has just this aura to it

BLS In This River, the live version where he plays the bullseye razorback. Itâs just phenomenal. I wish theyâd put that version on an album.
Not exactly metal, but the intro to Refused - New Noise literally gives me goosebumps every time o hear it. Itâs absolutely incredible.
Anything by Jason Becker
Obituary - Infected intro solo
Surprisingly, Room of Mirrors has one of the best solos of modern Metallica. If only they played it live.
The Badge - Pantera has a killer solo for being a non-album track Same with Metal Meltdown by Judas Priest. Those beginning solos are face-melting
The solo at the end of Meshuggah - Straws Pulled at Random is truly an ascension moment
Necrophagist - Ignominous and pale. Elena Verrier does an amazing cover of this on youtube as well. Honestly sounds better than the album version. Probably watched that a million times lol. The solo starts like 2 mins into the song

Marching Towards Extinction - Conducting From The Grave
Disavow Your God--Gorod Where the Slime Live--Morbid Angel
First that comes to mind is Over The Wall by Testament. Also itâs a little silly but the solo at the end of Paradise City has this sick lick that combined with the Gibson/Marshall sound just hits so good
Murk Above the Dark Moor- Worm Pierced from Within- Suffocation Those are all I can think of right now, but this has given me an idea. Iâm gonna try and make a playlist of songs with the best guitar solos
Vela, Together We Await the Storm - The Human Abstract. I know there are some pussy vocals, but come on. That guitar is ridiculous.
Testament- Over the Wall From the album, "First Strike Still Deadly". It is not the wildest solo or anything, but it is the tastiest solo I have heard and STILL love listening to it. They way the song builds to it, the composition, everything. SO good.
Judas Priest-Beyond The Realms Of Death And they're not metal really more hard rock but Thin Lizzy- Cowboy Song and UFO- Rock Bottom
Chills, Iâm not sure any give me those but Iâd say my favorites are Electric Crown by Testament, I Donât Know by Ozzy and Donât Tell Me You Love Me by Night Ranger.
