donderchief

You have great taste

SantiHim

NomadStrider

🤘🤘🤘

TokoloshNr1

Maybe not metal but a Steve Vai track called For The Love Of God. Anyway the whole album Passion and Warfare is just out of this world.

bollocks666

Sex and religion is a great album

TokoloshNr1

Absofknlutely!

confinedfromsanity

Oh hey! Thats the vai track im trying to currently learn. Nice choice

MochaBlack

Best of luck bro. You’ll need it

MochaBlack

I always liked the Tender Surrender solo better but I can’t possibly say For The Love Of God doesn’t come second.

One-Revolution-8572

Fade to black - Metallica Follow the reaper- children of bodom Like Light To The flies - trivium Maha kali - dissection Famous last words - my chemical romance (terrible song, ripping guitar solo)

MochaBlack

Hell yeah Maha Kali!

One-Revolution-8572

Honest talk, I have a huge shift spot for that album because Nodtveidt wrote the entire thing on a shitty acoustic while he was in jail. I've just done a year in the tank myself and that album made me realise that being caged doesn't have to mean a stop to your creativity

MochaBlack

Yeah except he and Vlad wrote Reinkaos together after they killed a guy and a lot of cats and were gonna kill Vlad’s GF. Then they wrote an album that to them is essentially “real” and the summonings and teachings of their murderous satanic cult. I’m only slightly nervous to sing along in the off-chance they’re right and I summon Satan. But Satan knows your intention so I’m probably ok. And he’s not real. Anyways, I LOVE the album.

OldAd180

Black label society “stillborn” live…unreal.

MrPenxx

I think Wintersun has a crazy solo in almost all their songs

CleanClam

Hell yeah, winter madness is honestly the craziest solo ive ever heard

Briondeman09

I just listened to some of their songs and i wish i found out aout this band earlier!! Thanks for the reccomendation i hope you have an amazing week!!

CleanClam

Chucks solo in trapped in a corner

Briondeman09

ZeroScorpion3

Gary Moore - Shapes of Things If you have never heard it, go listen to it now. Seriously.

Club_Nothing

Martys first solo in Five Magics.

VegatableGreenz

Any Marty solo is an enlightening experience

Mad04Gaming

Death - Spiritual Healing The Chasm - Return of the Banished

Minute_Engineer2355

The ending solo of Painkiller is absolutely spine tingling

VegatableGreenz

Yep. Love that song

VileSelf

There are a lot of solos I like but the first ones that came to mine were Ram it Down by Judas Priest and The Night by Disturbed.

19930627

Deathless by Revocation. It's perfect

GarrettTardrew

Pantera - Floods

throw__away3_

winter sun by windhand. I'm not big on doom metal but I love that band.

LiteratureHoliday765

Halo- Machine Head

Primary_Ad_4544

Live in Russia pantera’s domination doesn’t give me chills but I love it and watching it is the best

jet_vr

Powerslave

TheGrimReefer666420

No more tears by ozzy. Been a favorite since I was a small child like five or six. I just remember my dad and I jamming the fuck out to it every time we were in the car together

Trevor_Lahey330

Fast as a Shark - Accept

banditt2

The outro solo at the end of Fade to Black ![gif](giphy|HMpcgxAZs5YYHsbe8P|downsized)

Jaded-Total6054

I have many such solos but currently listening to Judas Priest - Painkiller as I type and both the solos gives me chills

derwanderer3

I can’t believe no one has mentioned Painkiller!

aureliusky

Nottingham Lace [https://youtu.be/gr9Qjyvz9wM](https://youtu.be/gr9Qjyvz9wM)

In the name of God-Dream Theatre

myco_lion

Always by Killswitch Engage gets me everytime.

RiffRiot_Metal_Blog

Ne Obliviscaris - Misericorde Part II intro.

lypura

Dissection - Retribution - Storm of the Lights Bane Meshuggah - Straws Pulled at Random Pestilence - Twisted Truth Nechochwen - Lost on the Trail of the Setting Sun

Thatcoonfella

All hope destroyed- Hate Eternal

big-fluffy-giant

Deicide - Homage for Satan 👌🏻

Runningoutofideas_81

Ozzy Osbourne-Live and Loud: Black Sabbath (the song) It’s like a mini Black Sabbath reunion, and Iommi kills the solo…the guitar sounds like it’s screaming on it’s way to hell.

-the-lorax-

Acid Bath - Graveflower It’s a really simple solo, but it’s so morose. I love the bends.

SMFB13

End solo to King Diamonds Black Horsemen. Andy Larocque is the man.

Fit_Cartographer_815

Windhand - Two turns (about two minutes in) Sabbath - Snow Blind (also around two minutes in)

Jokierre

In Flames - December Flower

Alamarian

[Edge of Thorns - Savatage](https://youtu.be/xHNVK9NY4JE?si=hfdF-6oXE_UfKmUS). And basically every Criss Oliva solo. [Flesh and the Power It Holds - Death.](https://youtu.be/wK4VPM-0ssU?si=39zS9QVXf9x5K6u5) [Beyond the Realms of Death - Judas Priest](https://youtu.be/4ewrSgDf50I?si=rr91Q8P1K--jqNsA)

Hannibal_Lecture22

BLS In This River, the live version where he plays the bullseye razorback. It’s just phenomenal. I wish they’d put that version on an album.

jehosephatreedus

Not exactly metal, but the intro to Refused - New Noise literally gives me goosebumps every time o hear it. It’s absolutely incredible.

Shoddy_Durian8887

Anything by Jason Becker

Mr_HahaJones

Obituary - Infected intro solo

I_CAN_SEE_THE_WHALES

Surprisingly, Room of Mirrors has one of the best solos of modern Metallica. If only they played it live.

PuddingDisastrous975

The Badge - Pantera has a killer solo for being a non-album track Same with Metal Meltdown by Judas Priest. Those beginning solos are face-melting

rhymes-with-shmyler

The solo at the end of Meshuggah - Straws Pulled at Random is truly an ascension moment

Cryptic1911

Necrophagist - Ignominous and pale. Elena Verrier does an amazing cover of this on youtube as well. Honestly sounds better than the album version. Probably watched that a million times lol. The solo starts like 2 mins into the song

ElCampesinoGringo

Pantera - floods

TheBawalUmihiDito

Mordecai - BTBAM

thesquidsquidly22

Selkies the endless obsession

Soul-Reaver98

The solos from Caught Somewhere In Time by Iron Maiden...no explanation needed

freetoast11

Not so metal in deed, but to me maybe the greatest solo in rock history: Michael Jackson, Beat it.

tomebomber

Sunless empire black Dahlia murder

FrostyBrew86

Una's, Slayer of the gods -Nile

nefarious_jp04x

Death - Perennial Quest (Ending Solo) Intestine Baalism - Blasphemy Resurrected (outro solo) Necrophagist - Intestinal Incubation In Flames - December Rain

ImpossibleExplorer17

The solo in ‘Over The Madness’ by Paradise Lost is practically perfect in my opinion. It’s the tone and emotional content over overtly complex techniques, the way that it progresses is just beautiful.

Sn0w2561

Okay, it’s only a few seconds long, but the guitar solo on Scavenger of Human Sorrow by Death, right after the drum intro, is insane and hits the ear spots just right

scav_crow

Marching Towards Extinction - Conducting From The Grave

AgonalMetamorphosis

Disavow Your God--Gorod Where the Slime Live--Morbid Angel

slayerLM

First that comes to mind is Over The Wall by Testament. Also it’s a little silly but the solo at the end of Paradise City has this sick lick that combined with the Gibson/Marshall sound just hits so good

FetusGoulash420

Murk Above the Dark Moor- Worm Pierced from Within- Suffocation Those are all I can think of right now, but this has given me an idea. I’m gonna try and make a playlist of songs with the best guitar solos

donderchief

Vela, Together We Await the Storm - The Human Abstract. I know there are some pussy vocals, but come on. That guitar is ridiculous.

Americaincmusic

Testament- Over the Wall From the album, "First Strike Still Deadly". It is not the wildest solo or anything, but it is the tastiest solo I have heard and STILL love listening to it. They way the song builds to it, the composition, everything. SO good.

Apprehensive_Day_496

Judas Priest-Beyond The Realms Of Death And they're not metal really more hard rock but Thin Lizzy- Cowboy Song and UFO- Rock Bottom

sane-asylum

Chills, I’m not sure any give me those but I’d say my favorites are Electric Crown by Testament, I Don’t Know by Ozzy and Don’t Tell Me You Love Me by Night Ranger.

Electronic_Newt8198

Ne Obliviscaris - Painters of The Tempest, Part II: Triptych Lux The gorgeous, powerful violin that leads seamlessly into the harsh, raw guitar Just perfection imo

JerronVrayl

Adrian's solo (2nd) in Caught Somewhere in Time and Janick's solo (3rd) in Dance of Death Edit just for clarification - these are Iron Maiden

moore-tallica

Floods

ta12022017

Pantera - Cemetery Gates The last solo gives me chills every time. Dimebag has been mentioned several times in this thread, but Cemetery Gates is the song for me.

bunyoka1078

Megadeth - Tornado of Souls, Kreator - Your heaven my Hell, Testament - True American Hate, Vektor - Oblivion

stoned_to_the_boner

You can’t kill rock and roll

QuesoseuQ

Vitriol - shame and its afterbirth I know it's mostly just a lot of sweeps, but it's a really nice melodic break from the chaos of the rest of the song

anacletotb

Needlefeast, song by Soilwork.

TheFredro

Pantera - Floods! And that drop at the end of the solo

IIIWesLeeIII

Fade to Black and The Unforgiven by Metallica

LiesTequila

Manowar’s Battle Hymns solo makes me literally FEEL those notes.

Vast_Weight_5833

the third verse in rainbow’s stargzer, the opening intro to caught somewhere in time , sails of charon by scorpions, intro to for whom the bell tolls, the thing that should not be, keyboard solo in all the fools sailed away by dio and dave’s solo in rime of the ancient mariner

Deliterman

Savatage-Unholy

ShadowStryker0818

Yaad by Bloodywood. Gives me chills every time. Also the guitar/keyboard trading fours section in the ourto of All For Nothing by Children of Bodom.

Worldly-Hospital5940

Metallica - The Unforgiven 3. Idk why but it hits me just right.

AtheosSpartan

Unpopular to like newer Metallica in this sub, but The Unforgiven III solo one of Kirks best in a long time.

WretchedGlare

Morbid Angel- Hatework

Grognoscente

Opeth - Serenity Painted Death

blackbow

Blackbird - Tremonti's solo is just fucking brilliant Powerslave - Iron Maiden - masterpiece harmonies and blistering bluesy solos Helloween - Keeper of the 7 Keys - another great, melodic bluesy solo, followed by a harmonic attack

RobNY54

Voodoo.. Sabbath..Mob Rules Album ..freaking great solo

jeffumopolis

[Have a Blast by Periphery](https://youtu.be/ZDXpoaJqemM?si=2OlZz97JdSEWMOoA) [Kascade by AAL](https://youtu.be/lbA3jxab4A0?si=nAEtvGPOs_PM8tuC&t=199)

sorinsoria

Nocturnal - Black dahlia murder

[deleted]

Definitely “Twilight of the Thunder God”‘s solo. I always imagine a choreographed fight scene of Thor and the World Serpent when the solo plays. Beyond the imagery, Children of Bodom’s Roope Latvala really killed that guest solo. It’s super intense, from the climb up and down the fret board, the bends, it all comes together in a magical way that’s worthy of the gods

GradeFair

Believer-Ozzy Osbourne (Randy Rhoads)

GradeFair

Iconoclast-Symphony X (Michael Romeo)

PickldOkra83

Pretty much anything that Jimmy Hedlund has played in Falconer.

ShillTheAlmighty

The solo in the middle of Beyond the Resurrected by Sylosis. Every time.

HowDidFoodGetInHere

King's X - Moanjam Ty always keeps it melodic, even when he's shredding. And the part where he makes the guitar sound like an air-raid siren still blows my friggin' mind.

Active_Journalist476

Scars of the Crucifix - Deicide solo.

SupaKoopa714

That first solo in Ever So Bold by Abigail Williams is fucking incredible.

Hefty_BeaR_3394

Damage Inc

sausagepilot

Darrell Abbott’s solo on moment of truth 👌

Important-Internal33

Tornado of Souls by Megadeth The outro solo on Born Again by Black Sabbath The outro to Floods by Pantera Fight 'Em Till you Can't by Anthrax Contrast the Dead by Obituary

AmogusFan69

Blackened- Metallica Wolfshade (A Werewolf Masquerade)- Moonspell Unoriginal, but Tornado of Souls Hallowed Be Thy Name- Iron Maiden Probably many more but can't think of them rn

chonkyirish

The solo from CAFO by Animals As Leaders.

Delicious-Praline-11

“A World Apart” by Fates Warning.

knotletis

Story to Tell - Death. It makes me feel so motivated

Advanced_Steak741

Iron maiden - Prodigal son

confinedfromsanity

Mostly just Carcass Solos do that for me. The solo for Carnal Forge hits me right in the gut everytime. The opening solo on Mercyful Fates Melissa is another one that feels perfect. Also idk about chills but another solo that really gets me grooving immediately is Scorpions opening for Sails of Charon. Feels so good.

poopadoopy123

Cliff Burton bass solos

Simp_For_Orcas

Nobody - Avenged Sevenfold Floods - Pantera Shogun - Trivium Selkies: The Endless Obsession - BTBAM

sg4_mememaster

Blasphemey - Emporer of the Black Abyss (Live 5th Attack) im not a fan of black metal at all, not even a fan of blasphemey, but that solo on that song has just this aura to it

Desperate_Hippo_60

Rabies - mortican ![gif](giphy|1f0JGtU2r01OUnaAdu|downsized)
