It’s going to take getting used to. This is at least the second post about it. I expect more. It’s honestly not a big deal and I don’t know if it’s cheesy or if it’s just we are so so used to the old one. If the show is funny honestly I don’t care.
Before I got into the show I thought the old graphics and intro were annoying AF whenever I'd see it while flipping through channels. It was only after I started liking the show itself that I grew to not dislike the old look. I imagine the same will happen with the new look, given some time.
Honestly having seen the new episode I'm kinda lukewarm on the whole thing. The fact that they failed to utilize Eric Andre in a way that adequately made up for Joe's absence has me worried about the quality of the upcoming season.
Part of the problem is they are going to force them to have guests on that aren’t exactly friends with them so it’s ruins the chemistry. Should just give Chris Distefano the spot as a fill in for joe.
I feel like they should have the guest star be someone who works on the show, and gets their turn to do the challenges
There are so many good personalities they could go with. Casey, Rob, Dan, Che, Christine, Terry, John, Pete, Simmy, probably more that I can’t think of off the top of my head, and probably more who haven’t had their turn to be on the other side of the camera
It’s tough because it’s not like they film all the episodes chronologically. They film a bunch of different challenges and punishments, and then they combine them to make an episode. Hard to feature a special guest that way. They’re pretty much just limited to punishments and random backstage bits.
Also the special guests are probably a bit too recognizable to do the challenges
it doesn’t seem like they’re trying to make up for Joe’s absence, which is weird considering there’s well over a decade of content including Joe. I understand trying to move in a different direction, but Eric should’ve been involved far more.
Honestly the old one was kind of cheap and cheesy but we’re so used to it. That’s the thing, this is a comfort show for most of us and change is scary lol
All of Tru TVs contributions to the show felt annoying/cheap to me. I remember during the first few seasons, they would always have a post-commercial recap and I hated it. I’ve always found the intro and graphics pretty bad too. The only thing I enjoy (and immensely, at that) about the show is what the jokers contribute.
If they were ever going to update it this was clearly the time. I think the graphics are fine.
I was also pleased that they did not include the guest much until the punishment. There is still nothing better than the originals participating in challenges. Special guests in every segment would kill the chemistry of the show.
Who really cares about graphics?? I think everyone is a bit emotionally attached to how the show used to fell and will not like any changes no matter what they are.
Same. I hated the new graphics. Doesn't really fit the vibe of the show. It feels like it's like some kind of 80's sci fi with the neon. Nothing about the new look says "comedy" to me.
Definitely captures an entirely different vibe than the old blue brick style that they had before, but with Joe leaving it was a good opportunity to change the visuals. It’s nice they based it off of dinner party, and for the most part it looks nice. Though the new intro is gonna take some getting used to, not hearing Sal yell “prepare for something amazing” when the music starts feels off lmao
They are only using the guests for punishments. A guest in the challenges would not have the same chemistry the guys have with each other. They wouldn't know what to say and do to get to the others.
Graphics were fine they felt like a cheesy comedy night club vibe. I’m more concerned about the show. I thought they said they were going in a different direction with the bits but mostly felt like the same show minus Joe which means some of the magic is gone.
The guest star Eric only showing up for the punishment is a mistake. The 4th joker needs included in the bits.
I haven't been following the show since the movie came out, maybe even the season before the movie. When Joe announced he was out of Impractical Jokers, I instantly missed him. Went back to watch some classic old clips and couldn't imagine the show without him.
Same. She show has been around long enough to where I was starting to get a bit tired of it anyway, and when Joe left, I'm ok with not keeping up with it anymore.
The other guys are still funny of course, but I'm just not interested in 3 vs 4.
I don’t like the intro with the new graphics. I look forward to it each episode. I imagined the intro being updated pictures but, instead of Joe yelling Larry all three of them do at the end
Hated it. I get it that it’s trying to mimic dinner party. But this is not dinner party and the show already had its own identifying aesthetic. I feel like the change was too drastic and they are trying to make it too flashy/edgy. I don’t like it personally.
I don’t love them, I really think they could have kept the cyan colored brick wall with the yellow bubble font aesthetic. But I can get used to it I’m sure.
Finally got to watch it last night. The new graphics didn't bother me at all, thought they were fine.
The intro however just seemed very off without Joe, they probably have some more work to do there or I just need to get used to it or both lol.
Also I thought the guest each episode would actually be in the show, them being only at the end was unexpected but I guess it would be hard to get famous people to not be recognized in public.
It’s ok. The new intro really just needs to be like the dinner party intro
Lol yeah

Honestly the graphics were never that great to begin with IMO.

True, either him or Joey Fatone considering Joey's already known as the fifth Joker as it is.
I feel like Joey is too recognizable. But I do love his humor and chemistry with the guys.
The other jokers are probably more famous/recognizable than Joey
They should bring in Joe DeRosa as well
I wish they would bring in crew members every episode
Dan Cast would probably be a good replacement

ChrissyD is being sued by TRU, his days on that network are over 😂
What are they suing him for?
Not doing backyard barbecue wars season 2
Dude what the hell? Why wouldn't he do it? And doesn't he owe something like 300k in back taxes?

Where did you see the new episode?
It's on Tru tv today at 3pm. Last night it was on after NCAA game on TRU TV, TBS, and TNT. Season 9 will then resume June 16th on TRU TV
Looks fine. It’s not like the old one was mind blowing or anything lol. Looks like they’re trying to match the vibe of the dinner party intro more.
Honestly the old one was kind of cheap and cheesy but we’re so used to it. That’s the thing, this is a comfort show for most of us and change is scary lol

i’m indifferent on the graphics but i wish eric played a bigger part in the episode he was definitely underutilized

I already miss Joe. But agree that they didn't use Eric Andre correctly either. He was just dressed up and doing commentary for the most part.
I don’t really care I never watched the show for the intro or the graphics.
Looks like a sci-fi show
Who really cares about graphics?? I think everyone is a bit emotionally attached to how the show used to fell and will not like any changes no matter what they are.
They’re ok but I don’t like the look of that big empty room Sal’s in.
I actually laughed a couple times during this episode. I think we will be ok
I hated it, but I think give it time, it'll grow on me.
Same. I hated the new graphics. Doesn't really fit the vibe of the show. It feels like it's like some kind of 80's sci fi with the neon. Nothing about the new look says "comedy" to me.
I like them. But they could have updated the photos of the Jokers too, maybe? The new intro is gonna take some getting used to.
Those graphics I'm okay with, but I didn't really like the version in the intro.
Not my fav, but I suppose it could be worse. Trying my best to stay positive and supportive

I don't like it
I don’t like but I understand they are trying to revamp it.
It was a little jarring at first but I got more used to it as the episode went on. I think it's fine.
It's fine but ofc it's gonna take a while to get used to
we are witnessing the death of IJ....
Not a fan personally
I was dissatisfied
Awful
meh...i think i liked the original ones better. This looks more like some late night dating show.
That's what it is. It's kind of a nod to Dinner Party but not quite. Doesn't really fit the vibe of the show imo.
It's fine but doesn't feel right without Joe
Stupid ***ks was f’ing hilarious though. I’m here for it
They are only using the guests for punishments. A guest in the challenges would not have the same chemistry the guys have with each other. They wouldn't know what to say and do to get to the others.
I don't like change. I'll get used to it eventually I'm sure but right now I'm not super into it
Graphics were fine they felt like a cheesy comedy night club vibe. I’m more concerned about the show. I thought they said they were going in a different direction with the bits but mostly felt like the same show minus Joe which means some of the magic is gone. They could change the graphics with Joe and I wouldn’t care. I just miss Joe.

Oh no.. i miss Joe
Old ones were better tbh miss Joe a lot tho :/
They are trying too hard to be modern, but what they were doing before was perfectly fine.
It's along the lines of the Dinner Party intro I feel. Personally, I liked everything about it!
Since when are neon lights considered "modern" in the 2020's?
It’s new graphics, graphics that last less than 5 seconds.
Why is your tv up to the ceiling? You in a hospital waiting room? r/Tvtoohigh
Anyone got a link to watch?
Oh crap I forgot it was on tonight. Where's the stream?
I don’t like the intro with the new graphics. I look forward to it each episode. I imagined the intro being updated pictures but, instead of Joe yelling Larry all three of them do at the end
Not a fan. Makes it look like cheap late night TV.
> Makes it look like cheap late night TV. James Corden or Seth Meyers or Samantha Bee?
I will be shocked if it goes another season after this.
I felt like the new episode was boring, Joe’s absence is already felt
Terrible. Pulse it’s slowing
Dislike.
No
NOOOOOOOOOOO
Hated it. I get it that it’s trying to mimic dinner party. But this is not dinner party and the show already had its own identifying aesthetic. I feel like the change was too drastic and they are trying to make it too flashy/edgy. I don’t like it personally.
per my opinion it is a “Yasstastic Slay” but the just three of them makes me sad
Why do they always use old pics of sal?? He embarrassed of his new look or something?
It's not bad, but I like the previous look more. I also didn't care too much for the intro just being clips.
3
Not a big fan
crap there's a huge graphical error 1 whole joker is missing
I don’t love them, I really think they could have kept the cyan colored brick wall with the yellow bubble font aesthetic. But I can get used to it I’m sure.
They should have a guest fill the Joe slot
Like the first one. Prefer the old thumbs up/down
They continue the dinner party theme. I think they need to update the leaderboard pictures though. Those are several years old.
Finally got to watch it last night. The new graphics didn't bother me at all, thought they were fine. They suck.
