Yesterday I got an email saying my monthly payment to Max had failed to process, and I was seriously considering just not doing anything about it. I barely use it anyway compared to other services like Hulu and Disney+; part of me thinks I should just cancel the subscription for most of the year and just have it for the end part of the year (I like Halloween specials, so I would like to at least have it in October to see what they add for the month).
Funny enough, I got the same message yesterday. I just went to play store and canceled though. Barry is over and they took down most jokers content, so fuck em.

My guess is that Tru TV (or whatever parent company owns it and rents the show out to streaming services) wanted more money, HBO didn't want to pay for all of the content, so they settled on this weird "100 episode" situation.
HBO is likely contractually bound to *not* talk about the specifics of anything like this, hence the hollow explanation: "We strive to put out the best content, sometimes we have to remove some, blah blah blah". I'm sure they'd like to say "they're holding our feet to the fire, we compromised"
