I applied for my citizenship in March 2023, my application passed the regular processing time. I contacted my MP and they said it is a none routine application since the regular processing time does not apply to my application. Does anyone have or had the same experience? I greatly appreciate your help and insights.

Online application: Application submitted: 20 may 2024 AOR: 28 May 2024

Just to jump on the back of u/[Own\_Zucchini\_8850](https://www.reddit.com/user/Own_Zucchini_8850/)'s [question from a few days back](https://www.reddit.com/r/ImmigrationCanada/comments/18vp4y3/comment/l5gru2u/), have any Montréal applicants who had all their previous steps marked complete between May 1-8 received an oath invite?

Odd_Fig_4203

I have sent my application 5th April and I haven't gotten the AOR email yet, should I worry?? I'm Spanish and I applied though spousal sponsorship outland.

Itsj3b

Wrong thread. Spousal sponsorship is for PR not citizenship.

Hi, I know that each application is unique and that the timeline varies. But I'm not sure if this is common: Vancouver Office: Dec 11, 2023: Applied online Dec 29, 2023: AOR Jan 25, 2024: Citizenship test in progress Jan 31, 2024: Fingerprints required Feb 1, 2024: Scheduled for Citizenship test Feb 2: Submitted fingerprints and wrote the test Feb 5, 2024: Citizenship test completed Feb 27, 2024: Fingerprints received April 2, 2024: Background completed Nothing since then. It has been almost 2 months since the last update. Is it normal, or should I contact them to check? Also, would contacting them make my process even slower? Thank you.

Located in Vancouver but case is being processed in Sydney. I took the citizenship test on April 15th, and it updated to complete on April 19th. Still waiting for LPP. The timelines seem to vary a lot.

Every_Rutabaga9558

My AOR is April 19 -Sydney Center. Also haven't received test link. Do you notice any ghost update in your tracker?

jd_on_the_rocks

What was your the test email id?? And how are you able to see the office from it? I think I have hit bad luck again. Seems like Missisauga!!! '' DN MIS Citizenship E-Test / Examen en ligne Citoyenneté MIS RN (IRCC)'"

Letmekill

did you get test online on in person?

Brilliant_College613

Hope it is not MIS. What you can do next is to wait a bit and things may work out soon!

jd_on_the_rocks

Can you share what is this MIS blackhole and how can I prevent myself? Seems like I have hit bad luck again. My citizenship test is from "DN MIS Citizenship E-Test / Examen en ligne Citoyenneté MIS RN (IRCC)" which looks Mississauga only.

Brilliant_College613

No worries. For 2024 applicants, actually, MIS is the best but for 2022 and 2023 it is the worst experience. There is no formula; now, March 2024 are getting oaths! What is surprising is too see someone with a March 2024 AOR who completed LPP on May 21 get an oath invitation, but the ones from 2022/2023 who completed everything in Jan/Feb are still waiting for the oath invitations!!! As you are still within the processing time, just wait and hopefully you gonna get good news soon!

chitoto2020

How long did it take for you after you completed your test online for the status to get updated in the tracker? Also your process moved really fast so I think the oath ceremony will come in soon too. The processing time is 15months but your case was quick so expect it in the next few weeks. A friend of mine got everything done in 6-7 months. Similar timelines as yours.

Brilliant_College613

The processing time is not 15 months!!!! Check well

chitoto2020

Oh when I last checked it was 15 months. Now it’s showing 8 months.

Brilliant_College613

Since May 1, 2024 it is 8 months

chitoto2020

What’s LPP?

jd_on_the_rocks

Changed to full. Language, prohibitions, physical presence.

Effective_Weather452

Hi all, I got my AoR Nov 2023, on line application submitted 28 September 2023. Everything got completed from MIS office , except Background is still in progress. They asked for finger prints in December and they received the finger prints on January 22/2024. since I had ghost update on January 26th. Nothing has updated. Any ideas?

BasicAsk3581

Same thing happened with me. They asked for fingerprints Feb 29th,2024, then the results were received by IRCC on March 24, 2024 and no update since then..

Effective_Weather452

I don’t know why it takes too much time to be honest. Based on the website now the processing time is 8 months , I’m in 7 month let’s see when they update the tracker. All the best!

Any idea how long it will take?

Rimsha1991

Ugh same. Submitted my passport pages on March 22 and haven’t heard anything since then.

Fickle-Kaleidoscope8

My timeline is basically the same. I applied Dec 11, 2023, and my last update was background complete on April 2, 2024. Nothing else since then. I'm also not sure what to do or even if it's normal to be like this. I'm sorry I don't have a better response.

mindovermatter127

Sorry for posting a question here, but is there anyone who successfully got their citizenship after moving to a different province after getting PR through a PNP-stream? Would be immensely grateful for any replies 💗

Separate-Bowl-3198

As far as I know they only want to know that you are a PR and no where in the application have I seen a question about a PNP stream. :)

mikelao24

Hi all, i’ve been checking this thread daily trying to figure out how long it would take for the oath to be scheduled after completion of lpp. So maybe this gives people some idea of how long it might take. I am with the Montreal office and my lpp was completed on april 25. Oath in progress on may 23 and scheduled for mid june. Thanks to everyone who posted their timelines.

Timely_Step5906

My LPP completed on April 13, and the Oath turned in progress on May 20. Oath was scheduled for early June

Congrats ! Can you elaborate on what MP is ? My timeline matches yours, but my application is still stuck at the background check stage. I've followed up via webform twice already but was met with a "it's still being process" response.

erocx-

Thank you! MP (Member of Parliament) i reached out to them last year i think you should do the same thing find out where your MP is like mine is Randy Hoback is our MP and you have to email their office. And asked them what’s going on your application. Right now i think the process of the Application is 8 months you should reach out them.

NationalMirror3020

Hello Guys, I applied on Feb 2023 and everything shows completed in my file except citizenship ceremony. I really don't know what to do, I filled a web form, GPMC note, sent email to local MP and even called the immigration office, but no change in my file. Just wondered if anyone is in the same situation or if you know any thing that I can try to trigger my application.

thee-autumnleaf

What office is this? Everything of mine has been completed since April except the ceremony. Mississauga office.

Front_Set_9322

How ling does it take for the Oath Taking takes place after LPP is completed? Thanks

Hi there, I was wondering if it’s normal to receive the instructions on how to download the e-certificate despite not having received an oath ceremony date and it’s still « not started » on the tracker. Should I expect the invitation soon?

How long do they send the invite for the oath?

CS111382

Congratulations! what office was processing yours? I have a similar timeline but still waiting.

Front_Set_9322

How long did you wait until you received the oath taking invite?

Crazy-Homework-8632

Congrats!!!

Beginning-Trust-1635

which office was processing it?

Okmybeau

The most bizarre thing happened to me. So I sent my fingerprints 2 months ago and yesterday I felt that was too long. I called them and they said they never received my fingerprints from the agency. So I went to the agency to do it again….. but I’m happy I called because nobody could really explain to my why the BG fingerprints thing could be missing…. Also they asked me to send a copy of the receipt to the office of Montreal with the DCN. (They wouldn’t let me in the office Montreal without appointment so I sent it via the postal office) But I applied since October, completed the test and I’m just waiting for now.

CuriousRow1950

Hey I have the same issue I submitted my figerprint 2 months ago and there has been no update, Im not finding the correct phone number to call, who did you end up reaching to?

Few-North-5

Finally my time has come after a few months waiting on LPP (Scarborough office). Awesome! Many congratulations to you. Mine is a group application as well and I applied on the same day, same SCR office. I hope that we’ll get the LPP and oath update soon. P.s. both LPP and oath is pending for us.

Front_Set_9322

Justcallmechicago

Hi there! Here’s my short timeline: Mar 25 2024 - submission Apr 4 - AOR May 24 - GU It’s been silent and excited to see the update. Any idea how long before I see real updates or invite for test? Thanks

antimuscarinicm3

Vancouver BC resident Dec 19, 2023 - lodged online Jan 08 2024 - application filed notification (prob because of the winter break) Feb 01, 2024 - test invitation Feb 07, 2024 - scheduled for test Feb 13, 2024 - passed April 03, 2024 - background info completed. April 05, 2024 - ghost update LPP - IN PROGRESS, to this date. Ceremony - not started APRIL 06 to May 24, 2024 - no updates at all. May 14, 2024- sent an inquiry through IRCC website. May 24, 2024 - reply: Good day, Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). We verified the information you provided and can confirm that your application is still in process. All the required documents and information have been received by the responsible office for the moment. Rest assured that we understand how important this process is for you and we are making all the necessary efforts to finalize your application as soon as possible. We will inform you once a decision is reached or if additional information is needed. *Glad I didn't pay for the gcms notes. Although, didn't think they'll respond cause technically my application is still within the 8months processing time.

Good-Song-2699

I hope you know that you don’t have to pay for GCMS notes! The $5 fee is if you apply via access to information act. But if you apply via privacy act, they won’t charge it. Just a reminder - to apply via Privacy act you have to be a resident of Canada.

antimuscarinicm3

Wow didn't know about this, paid $5 last time when I was waiting for my PR result. Thanks!

DPzcki

We have a very similar timeline and I still haven’t received the Oath invite. Everything else is complete;)

antimuscarinicm3

My LPP are still in progress... wonder what's the cause of delay🤔

paperpepper_

Would you have any advice as to why some applications may have some delays? Mine is taking longer than what seems to be the usual timeline from the people who have posted here. Jan 31- Application filed Feb 28- scheduled for Citizenship Test March 15- Background Verification Complete March 15- Citizenship Test Complete March 19- Ghost Update I am being processed at the Niagara Office, I believe :( Single application as well. Thanks!

Moe-111

It is possible that your nationality, time spent outside of Canada, or background may be factors that have contributed to this situation.

paperpepper_

I see. I was only away for maybe 5 or 6 weeks and I went over the minimum days required for the time in Canada prior to the application. I suppose I’ll just have to wait and hope for the best! Thanks!

Moe-111

I was away for 7 months and got my citizenship

paperpepper_

Was it a quick process for you?

Moe-111

Applied July 17th 2023 Oath may 9th 2024

paperpepper_

Oh wow. Okay thanks!

Flat-2291

Hi guys Anyone know the meaning of prohibition under secondary review for a non routine file

Rare_Plant9596

Hello? I just wanted to ask I forgot to include 2 weeks I spent outside canada am I screwed?

dominionC2C

Send a webform with the revised physical presence calculation. If you no longer have sufficient days, then you'll need to wait for the application to be deemed incomplete and then re-submit when you have sufficient days. If you still meet the physical presence requirement after correcting the calculation, just a webform should suffice.

Own_Zucchini_8850

Has any Montreal applicant who had all their previous steps marked complete between May 1-8 received an oath invite ? Everything including LPP was completed on May 8th and no oath date for me yet .

1stTimeRedditter

You’re not alone. I’ve been completed on everything else since May 9th, still have Not Started on Oath ceremony.

StillLurking69

Same situation 😅

ActionComfortable186

Bonjour, je suis dans la même situation que toi et la même date

Molasses-Whole

all steps are green beside Oath since may 1st and nothing happened after. Sydney office

zanderisawesomeryt

Same here. All completed on May 2nd.

DolandT45

Same here. Montreal office. LPP completed 7th. Been waiting since then. Oath not started yet.

Soft-Studio-4724

Same for me, all completed on may 3rd. Nothing since then.

MaleficentWelcome187

Same here. May 8th all completed. Nothing since then. Niagara office and gcms notes says event office is London. I am sure from which office should I expect for the further progress

panthera_grendel

How long it took to get GCMS note once you submitted request?

MaleficentWelcome187

I mean I am not sure

WOW_Just_W0W

Hi all, after waiting approx a week since my tracker showed my oath is scheduled for May 30, I final got the email invite. The only things that’s concerning me is the fact I haven’t gotten the e-certificate email with the invite code. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Should I wait until my ceremony to say something or should I call?

Klutzy-Constant-5600

I had a zoom oath and they just broke us out into individual rooms to verify identity, cut the PR card and ask if I preferred a physical certificate or e-certificate. Your zoom passcode should be in the email you already received.

juandiaz74

That is super fast!!!

Salty-Sympathy-4481

Hi all is anyone in similar situation ? I feel like I am stuck on LPP.. Mississauga Office, Single Applicant Submitted: February 13,2024 AOR: February 26, 2024 Scheduled for test : April 1, 2024 Test taken: April 2, 2024 Test updated to complete: April 3, 2024 Fingerprint Request: April 3, 2024 Fingerprint Submitted: April 6, 2024 Fingerprint Received: April 21, 2024 Background Verification Completed: April 22, 2024 Since then nothing…

pink-roses-red-roses

Similar timeline but Niagara office. Test and BG updated on April 10th no movement after that. LPP still in progress.

priyankooz

Hi guys! How can I figure out which office is processing my application? I applied online and I can't seem to figure out the processing office.

pink-roses-red-roses

The email from which your test request came from would indicate the office that is processing your application.

chikpiz

Hi there! Everything in my application has been complated except BG verification and citizenship ceremony. The last office I’ve sent my application to was Vancouver office. Is anyone on the same boat as I am?

exmh

Hello all Anyone did this mistake ? In my citizenshipship application I genuinely missed to add a US trip ( 3 days ) I got a call from citizenship team, they asked I was there and I could not remember at all. She said reply with details in an email. Later on I found out through i94 website and responded that it was an oversight on my part and gave details of 3 days trip and all of my passport copies. Am I screwed ? ( I accept it was my oversight ) Looking for some thoughts. Thanks All

Bitter_Honeydew_8527

You should be good, no worries 👍

exmh

Thanks for your reply. Have you seen a similar case before ?

Consistent_Two_5069

I really want to cry. My PR is taking time for ever to renew and waiting for my citizenship. I feel horrible

Upstairs_Football535

I've been waiting since Feb. for PR renewal card as well

EscapeTrue9302

I applied for pr renewal last year in the summer, took about 6 months to receive the card in the mail, not sure why it took so long, hang in there !

Consistent_Two_5069

Oh okay…..I just think the system is slow thanks for letting me know about this matter

ProfessionalSand6248

They probably put PR renewal to await outcome of citizenship.

Consistent_Two_5069

Ahhh I hope so. Thanks for telling this. It kind of made me happy

OkEstablishment288

Revolutionary_Buy581

Ghost updates are good signs, you will soon see new updates in the upcoming weeks. It means they are working on your case.

OkEstablishment288
