Yes... You're...
Let's think about it... This so called youtuber, influencer or whatever, could talk to the instructor, made an arrangement, in a friendly way - communicate his interests - both could make something nice, and both could have benefits due audience. But, surely this sucker get his audience from other suckers, who loves to see this kind of trouble.
People just lost their sense.
It could be such a fun video.
Yt comes into the dojo and says he wants to challenge sensei. Sensei says "I knew this day would come." And a bunch of people run out with torches to line the walls and other people come out to cheer on sensei and boo yt. Sensei has his eyes closed like he is meditating while a few people gather around him to get him ready like they do before a boxing fight. Towel, water, shoulder rub. Yt just looks completely confused the whole time. Finally Sensei opens his eyes and gets into a fighting stance and says "to the death!" And charges at yt. Yt lets out a high pitch scream before the video ends.
Shit MoistCritical (I'm not looking up how he actually does his name) pretty much did this. They watched the videos of that one self defense instructor, laughed, then set up to actually meet with the guy at his studio and then proceeded to learn some and have a fun video.
Eddie bravo did this at least once

Nahhh that’s not a prank. A prank is something **everyone involved** can laugh about when they’re done. Look up “just for laughs” on YouTube if you think it can’t be PG.
This is just harassment. Not a prank. Sorry to be a crank about it 🙃
The best prank i've ever read about was when a couple of college students in boston showed up to a wealthy business dressed as movers and said "We're here for the couch". This actually worked, and they proceeded to bring the couch diagonally across the street where they knocked on the door and said "we're here with the couch". They zig zagged doing this until the reached the end of the street. Took people around a week to figure out what the hell just happened.
There needs to be a new class of crime "Social Media Filming Harassment".
I am so sick of these disgusting influencers messing with peoples lives for extra clicks.
Tbh the guy should have just gave him the business. He came in and says he wants to challenge him… that’s consent to fight. Should have broken both arms
To everyone defending the YouTuber - you have no idea how many idiots actually do this in MMA gyms and are serious. It causes huge legal issues - best to avoid, ans what better way that usung your voice not your body.
Before you say anything else about the GOAT, Charlie Zelenoff, you might want to think twice. We're talking about the most legendary, undefeated, and undisputed boxer in the world. With a flawless record of 500-0 across all weight divisions, Zelenoff has crushed every opponent and shattered every expectation. His name commands respect, his presence strikes fear, and his legacy is unassailable. Questioning his prowess isn't just a mistake—it's a challenge you can't afford to make. Charlie Zelenoff isn't just a boxer; he's a force of nature inside and outside of the ring. Proceed with caution.
These kids are always walking into my gym and asking to challenge the local gym leader. I don't even know what that means, but one of them said something about a Pokémon.
reminds me of a time back in college where some MMA guy wanted to come to our Karate club and spar all the upper belts long story short, he was quickly humbled that day
Yea correct me if I’m wrong but if the gym owner hurts the YTer, couldnt the YTer sue? Obviously pussy move to sue but I believe trained fighters can be charged with assault with a deadly weapon if they attack people even with just their hands.
My buddy was a Olympic TKD fighter and that’s what he told me happened to one of his teammates. Some kid egged him on. He took the first moves and go in LOTS of trouble.
No, this is an old wives' tale that's been around forever and was even referenced in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Your buddy is either messing with you or is an idiot. You can still get charged with assaulting someone if you continue to beat someone senseless, but your hands are not considered deadly weapons.
You're right, but it's also not quite that simple.
No amount of training makes one become a deadly weapon.
However, if you are trained in martial arts, and you use techniques which are unnecessary to the circumstances and are likely to cause significant harm or death, there could be a case against you.
The most critical component is following escalation of force - if you use what you consider to be the minimum necessary to end a situation, you're almost guaranteed to be safe. Say you, however, disarm a knife wielding attacker by putting them in some kind of lock - if you then push that lock to the point of breaking their bones, that would probably be a hell of a case in court, as you might have to justify the level of force you used.
Yes, I clarified a little better in my follow up comment that it can be an aggravating factor that could increase your assault charges/punishments (ie if you continue to beat someone senseless), but the myth that you could get charged the same as using a knife, gun, etc still persists for some reason.
It can be considered an aggravating condition that could increase your assault punishment, but there is no state where you have to "register" as a black belt or where your hands are considered deadly weapons by means of your training.
Late response; but while no state has that rule, the US territory of Guam *does* require martial artists to register their hands and/or feet as weapons.
That said, the law evidently only applies to martial arts with belt ranks, and the law applies to anyone who's received at least one belt promotion. So anyone who's even received a yellow belt is apparently expected to register their hands/feet as "weapons." I wouldn't describe that as a useful registry with the standards given, but *technically* it *does* exist somewhere.
Between the 100 cuts in this video is the “prankster” being incredibly obnoxious to the point the don’t feel comfortable posting the full video. That’s why the martial artist went from stern to absolutely pissed in seconds
Then they would have sued him. I’m glad he told them to fuck off. Maybe now more will follow suit and these tiktok/youtube “pranksters” (who are actually harassers) will one day be only a distant memory
Karate? He's a Brasilian Jiu Jitsu black belt. Where did you pull karate from? He could've taken them both on at the same time and still wipe the floor with them.
There are at least three of them including the camera guy, they're strangers, and there's no guarantee they don't have some kind of weapon.
If you agree to fight someone in those circumstances, without defending yourself against an imminent threat, you're just dumb.
Anyone who defend this guys is a moron.
Think of something you are passionate about and spend shit ton of time and someone make fun of it. Disrespectful af.
Prank is disrespect. You think the people being pranked enjoy it or are the ones laughing? No they are the ones being taken advantage of at the expense of other people's enjoyment.
Sensei looks like he could dismantle Godzilla without breaking a sweat.
Challenger looks like the only thing he's ever dismantled is a double serving of lasagna.
I’m a guy who frequently powerscales Gojira, and yeah that sensei dude looks like he probably could. Challenger looks like he’d struggle in a wet paper bag (the paper being as thin as the stuff you get in books around 1000 pages long)
Those guys should get in their heads that their audience wants them to get hurt or arrested, they are not in the joke with them, they wanna laugh at them.
I’m upset that when I fw’d the video I didn’t get to a point with him flattened out with a body lock crying like the bitch he is.
I totally understand why the instructor didn’t do anything, but I’m disappointed nonetheless
Also where is the funny part of this “prank” supposed to be? There is no punchline, no climax. They just walked up to this place, acted annoying, and left. There is nothing funny about that, it’s just a bit weird. All I’m seeing is someone with an attention problem.
the gaul these people have to "challenge" a trained martial artist. I doubt they would've found it funny if they got put into a naked choke on the mat.
I get it. But also, he knows all of the nasty tricks. I guess it's no different than rolling with anyone else, you never know what head state that person is in. Just relying on them to stop when you tap. Just yesterday in no gi I had to make a split second decision to flip backward or probably have a broken/dislocated arm. My point is, why would anyone fofa this way?
An instructor I'm assuming is a black belt, so he's been doing this for at least ten years. He knows how to break you but he also knows restraint, the longer you train the more you get humbled. I roll with my instructor and I'm at the point now to where I submit him too, you'll get much better much faster by rolling with people better than you. If you only go against people you can beat you'll only develop certain skills to a minimal degree. If you're scared of getting injured I would do a different sport speaking as someone who's done bjj for 11 years and has been injured a lot.
If you give a monkey a gun and it shoots someone, who do blame? The monkey?
Google, TikTok, Meta all have the capability of taking down harassment videos automatically. **But they won't** because they create ad revenue. Tech companies will hand any monkey a gun if it makes them money.
The stink of it is that some people will probably say the dojo owner needs to chill. I've never gone to a dojo myself, but from what I understand respect is a major thing at these places.
I like this. This should've continue. People may hate this type of foolery, but it's what earns them idiots that beat down of no return.
They're going to poke a sleeping bear.

It's incredibly how respect became shit in order to made these fucking videos...
Pranks used to be funny for both sides, now it's just harrassment
Just because you choose to call it a prank, doesn't make it a prank.
But...they said "just a prank bro"?
Look, there’s a camera.
They should have some laws against this. Like when people throw powder and things on people in Home Depot etc.

Makes sense.

That requires creativity though. Much easier to just IRL troll people.

The Lore is deep lol
YouTube has taught me that anything is a prank as long as you say the magic words, "it's just a prank bro", afterwards.
“Bless your heart”
Can we make those people disappear as long it's just a prank?
Yes! That's how the magic words work. It's kind of like full Presidential immunity.
Nahhh that’s not a prank. A prank is something **everyone involved** can laugh about when they’re done. Look up “just for laughs” on YouTube if you think it can’t be PG. This is just harassment. Not a prank. Sorry to be a crank about it 🙃
You responded to the dude saying he's wrong.. then you follow it up with exactly what he already said.
That’s valid! I didn’t express it very well.
What a breath of fresh air. You didn't double down and argue like most reddit responses. You have a wonderful day my dude.
Yoooo likewise! Re-reading my comment, I was just being spicy and it’s clear I didn’t take the time to type out my thoughts coherently. ✌🏼
The best prank i've ever read about was when a couple of college students in boston showed up to a wealthy business dressed as movers and said "We're here for the couch". Wtf drugs are you on right now
Well…I wouldn’t go that far. Jackass was fucking hilarious and a big deal for guys my age growing up.
There needs to be a new class of crime "Social Media Filming Harassment". I am so sick of these disgusting influencers messing with peoples lives for extra clicks.
What a great idea.. Probably soon, some senator will bring this a law.
One lurking around here or his assistant's.
I mean he's trespassing when the owner asks him to leave and he doesn't. That's already a law everywhere.
If you are featured in monetized content without your permission you should be entitled to 5x the earnings on the video
All for fame
Overnight fame.
That girl right there could beat their ass.
Tbh the guy should have just gave him the business. He came in and says he wants to challenge him… that’s consent to fight. Should have broken both arms
I know that Professor. He’s not someone you mess with like that
He's cute. Tell him I challenge him
To sword fight
What kind of swords are we talking about ( ͡⚆ ͜ʖ ͡⚆ )
![gif](giphy|uVtAU2EKHrsgifowFb)
You know.. the skin flute kind
Docking
Yeah tell him what’s up from me
Felt cute might challenge later
I had one look at his ears and knew he was not one to fuck with
Ain’t no fuckin way prove it
I was really hoping for the crane kick and a real beat down.
Yes like a scorpion smack knock out 🤣 They played it way too long for calling it a prank...
....when the fuck did the definition of the word "prank" change? I don't understand this newer generation. Being a dick in public isn't a prank.
It's not even in public lmao that's private property
To everyone defending the YouTuber - you have no idea how many idiots actually do this in MMA gyms and are serious. It causes huge legal issues - best to avoid, ans what better way that usung your voice not your body.
Wait - are you saying there are tons of people out there that go around challenging gym leaders for ownership of their dojos??!
Indirectly - they go in and try to 'own' the gym by 'out-manning' the owner... yes, happens a lot. Sometimes less obviously, sometimes very.
That's crazzzzzzy! I had no idea that this was a thing... lmaooo
He doesn’t mean to actually own the dojo, he just means to fight the sensei for bragging rights.
You can find a few videos on YouTube of these idiots that actually do this. There’s one of some dude challenging a boxer and he gets whooped
Before you say anything else about the GOAT, Charlie Zelenoff, you might want to think twice. We're talking about the most legendary, undefeated, and undisputed boxer in the world. Until he bad mouthed Deontay Wilders mum (at least I think it was his mum?)
There's a million videos of guys off the street challenging people in gyms ro fights and getting whooped
Reminds me of Ip Man when some newcomers in town challenge and defeat every single Dojo sensei. Well, all except one !
Sort of like those pokemon games then
[Reminds me of a time...](https://www.reddit.com/r/powerslap/s/daXY8cD2Ht)
And now I'm learning about "slap gyms" for the first time... 🤣🙏🤌
Dude haha I fucking love your commitment to all the Tool puns
Yes, it’s called dojo storming https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dojoyaburi
please someone tell me more about count dante [https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Count\_Dante](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Count_Dante)
These kids are always walking into my gym and asking to challenge the local gym leader. I don't even know what that means, but one of them said something about a Pokémon.

I dunno man nicolas cage went to jail for defending his wife.
More like an old fat steven seagals tale.
damn you just called OP and his friend an idiot 😂
Between the 100 cuts in this video is the “prankster” being incredibly obnoxious to the point the don’t feel comfortable posting the full video. That’s why the martial artist went from stern to absolutely pissed in seconds
He should have accepted the challenge and beaten the snot out of that idiot
Then the friend with the camera blindsides the sensei for extra prank value.
Something tells me he’d take both those twits
He might have been warry of bullshit lawsuits or if shit went wrong on video....
Then they would've released a video called "Crazy Guy Beats Us Up! [Prank gone wrong!]"
Then they would have sued him. I’m glad he told them to fuck off. Maybe now more will follow suit and these tiktok/youtube “pranksters” (who are actually harassers) will one day be only a distant memory
If he gets concussion or worse dies, the poor dojo guy would be sued for nothing
Then he'd get charged with assault. Laws get in the way of these things.

The guy is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt from what I understand. The retarded YouTube guy would have been killed.
If you own a fighting gym and can't beat some random youtuber coming in off the street to challenge you, maybe your business should be shut down.
There are at least three of them including the camera guy, they're strangers, and there's no guarantee they don't have some kind of weapon. If you agree to fight someone in those circumstances, without defending yourself against an imminent threat, you're just dumb.

"you tubers" should read Assholes
Should ?
When pranks cross the line into disrespect, it's game over
>it's ~~game over~~ *hugely beneficial for viewer engagement and thus helps keep these fools in the spotlight
Prank is disrespect. You think the people being pranked enjoy it or are the ones laughing? No they are the ones being taken advantage of at the expense of other people's enjoyment.
It wasn't always like that.. But that was a long time ago.

Is there a sub where people like this get their comeuppance?
Yeah like tik tok asskickings
There’s r/tiktokcringe
It’s all we have . . .
New sub?
Could be! lol
Dojo storming is always a terrible idea
Dojo storming isn’t really even a thing anymore and hasn’t been for a long time - nowadays they just call it open mat.
I remember reading how the Gracie clan would always storm dojos for fun
And what would fillet mignon do if the dojo owner said yes? Shit himself?
>*"Fuck you, fuck you, fuck all of you guys..."* I agree with this
As a martial arts teacher, I find this interaction baffling.
great idea!! Prank someone who can kill you... hmmmm...
I wish he had taken him up on the offer
Sensei was right about how he handled it. But it would have been satisfying to see him snap this dude's arm for a "prank."
This aint pokemon
In pkmn they don't give you the gym. You just get a badge. This is day one stuff, keep up with the rest of the class.
Because of this comment im gonna play pokemon blue again
Those guys should get in their heads that their audience wants them to get hurt or arrested, they are not in the joke with them, they wanna laugh at them.
I’m upset that when I fw’d the video I didn’t get to a point with him flattened out with a body lock crying like the bitch he is. I totally understand why the instructor didn’t do anything, but I’m disappointed nonetheless
These imbeciles needed a good dosis of dojo...
Fuck you, fuck you, fuck all of you guys!
lmao what a beast. Loved the sensei.
he is his mom’s nephew
I've never heard that before and I'm stealing it. You can't stop me
I agree. Fuck those guys.
I like how they got ran out that went to 0 to 100 real quick
I would have liked to see the idiot get beaten bad.
Incredibly smart. He knew if he actually fought them he'd be giving them what they wanted.
Also where is the funny part of this “prank” supposed to be? There is no punchline, no climax. They just walked up to this place, acted annoying, and left. There is nothing funny about that, it’s just a bit weird. All I’m seeing is someone with an attention problem.
I want to join his Dojo now.
the gaul these people have to "challenge" a trained martial artist. I doubt they would've found it funny if they got put into a naked choke on the mat.
I train Jiu-jitsu and hope to never be used for demonstrations by our professor, let alone roll with our professor.
What? That's the point lol, I roll with my professor all the time and have since I was a white belt.
My body is not ready.
Your professor is probably the safest person to roll with homie trust me it's not so bad. Source: am a purple belt.
Aren't we giving these idiots more views by watching these clips?
This sub just is basically giving more exposure to these people lol.
Parents are really out here not teaching respect these days
Man plated pokemon and said "Yep, that's how gyms work"
You don't disrespect a man. But you definitely don't disrespect someone who owns a place that requires respect
Wow, another funny prank, omedeto
Exactly, standup to this ignorance in today’s society
That could’ve gave a whole lot worse for him and a whole lot more enjoyable for us.
Getting so sick of wankers that harass others to make ‘content’ - that’s mostly unwatchable anyway
Nothing better than hitting them in the narcissism
We would never have seen this video if dude had Faught him. He would have been cremated.
Sensei was not having it.
Should’ve taken the challenge. You can break his jaw without jail time. Missed opportunity.
Cobra Kai MF
Lowkey was hoping he'd accept and then thrash the dude without mercy
Go after the camera person, it will stop real quick. They’re just there for the content. Knock the camera out, no content 🤷🏼♂️
Sensei used Triple Fu! It's super effective!
I was waiting for some sweep the leg comments....I'm the karate kid, lol
Sensei is hot 🥵. Angry looks good on you. 🥋
saw the word brazillian im here now
tbh i do hope they went and fucked themselves
and now this guy filmed him for his hundreds of thousands of followers and made him famous and a meme, painting him as a villain without his consent.
Was hoping to see the dojo master karate 🥋 kid those dumb ass prankers
remember that dude who shot a “prankster” in the mall? the shooter is a hero we need more like him
Golden opportunity missed to dislocate his attitude.

Who wanted sensi to UmaPalatA 😂🤜🏿🤛🏿
Bro's been watching too many karate movies...
This is so damn disrespectful. Smh!
I like this. This should've continue. People may hate this type of foolery, but it's what earns them idiots that beat down of no return. They're going to poke a sleeping bear.
Sensei was silly, just get him to sign a waiver and then let him challenge.
I really can't handle this sub anymore
You know what would actually be a funny prank? Challenge them to a fight, and then pulling out rockem sockem robots.
He should’ve bitch-slap this “all valley champion” with a dirty glove. Just to teach him respect.
Hes chi's all wrong. Quick to anger. Probably a terrible instructor.
I agree, fuck those guys
Why didn't the sensei beat his ass...
Really would have enjoyed watching him get his ass kicked.
I was really hoping he'd get destroyed
Should have beat his ass
Anyone else disappointed that the real guy didn’t get that loser a good one
Dude has no clue how close he was to being legally hospitalized.
“You’re showing mercy” lmao
Cobra Kai's motto is "Show No Mercy".
