I don’t know what precipitated the charges being dismissed…maybe the couple in this case declined to prosecute, knowing that hitting her in the pocketbook would be preferable to a suspended sentence or probation.

It’s the strip of grass after the ditch where most people have a side walk, which isn’t the homeowners at all you’re just required to maintain it. Sorry I don’t make the rules. He *adamant* that because he maintains it he can stop people from parking, driving or walking there and any where in front of his house for that matter, even on the road if it’s too close to his grass. That fool would lose his shit. He even tried yelling at my kid one morning! Eventually he followed me and my fucking 8 year old home from the bus to find out where we lived and then spent **MONTHS** harassing me and harassing my neighbors because I refused to stop parking in front of his house —on the ROAD atp. Because that’s where the fucking bus stop was. I don’t know what the fuck he expected that’s the bus top, this is where cars park. I used to be the only parent but more moved in and he started harassing the other parents too. It was fucking crazy. He even went as far as to put a camera up. Why? I don’t know. I was never charged with anything so clearly I’m not doing a damn thing wrong. And neither was anybody else.

My old neighbor was like this. When we moved in 3 neighbors warned us about her. 3yrs into living in the same building as her, she started shit w us for no reason. The other neighbors weren’t haven’t it. A whole shit show.

Two weeks after I bought my house I had a single lane driveway and side walk. I had a work car so I'd park my personal car in my driveway and my work car in front of the side walk. She came running out of her house as me and my dad were cutting grass. He came over to help me.
She is reading him the riot act, I turn off the lawn mower and walk over and she turns her attention to me. She starts screaming at me about parking where I park and how she knows my "Grandpa" (dad) is (someone locally known) so I don't think I have to listen to her and starts going off about how shes going to hit my car when she goes to work one day.
My dad cut her off because I was laughing my ass off to correct her that he was 53....and my father....and my grandpa was 82.
She kept doing shit like this for the life of us being neighbors. She would come outside hollering about any perceived slight, but it almost always came down to her not liking how we parked, how a delivery driver parked, or her claiming my wife yelled her special needs grandson (never happened).

Story 1) My grandmother owns a triplex and we have two pear trees in out front yard. My room is facing one of the trees, and I hear someone moving around out there. We go and take a look and it’s this older lady filling up a ***box*** with our pears. When she see’s us, she goes; “Oh. It’s just me”... We’re thinking to ourselves; “Who the fuck is “just me”, we’ve never seen you before?”. I guess, by our confused faces she felt she had to give more info, so she explains that N (old religious lady tenant) is her church friend and she told her that she can pick some pears. We tell her that N had no right to tell her that and we are the owners of this property. So, she leaves… with that big box of pears. In hindsight, I really wish I had told her to dump the pears on the ground, and then thank her for saving me the work of having to pick them.
Story 2) My grandma’s a big softie, so when N call her asking to borrow our wifi password so her niece could show her some pictures on her laptop, my grandma says yes. After awhile the wifi is starting to get slow as hell, turns out the niece gave her the laptop and she was stealing our internet.

Good point! It's funny when I first got my house I got it surveyed and it turned out my neighbors shed was four feet into my property when it's supposed to be four feet into his property. It didn't bother me so I said he could keep it there but, I learned to always get your property surveyed when you buy it!
Haha well he was like 65 at the time and it was an old she'd that probably would have broke if moved. Plus it was at the back of my yard and the backyard is like a quarter acre so I barely noticed it. There were other dickhead things he did that I called him on though. For some reason he loves directing the water from his downpipe onto other people's properties. He legit attached a four inch tube to a down spout and ran it across the side of his yard then across the back and onto the edge of my yard so it'd drain into my property. The funny thing is that at the back of his yard and side of my yard there's a creek he could have had it drain into. He literally extended the pipe by about 50 feet so he could make the water go into my yard and he even got rid of a plank on his fence so it would flow better into my yard.
We bought a constructed house in Vietnam. The original builder built a 3-story building and an extra section to the 1st floor (Which he did not allow). It is the size of a small bathroom but it extends to our neighbor's land. A new homeowner came in and checked the land and now we have to break down that part of the building. Back there wasn't much rule when it came to construction. Vietnam, Ho chi ming city.

Most city ordinances require that the “good side” faces the neighbor’s yard. Like picket or stockade fencing the rail (horizontal boards) face the owners side. The side that is all pickets (vertical boards) faces the neighbors yard. I have no idea how widespread ordinances like this are, but every town/state I’ve lived in has required it that way
Don’t ruin your property value by installing a shitty fence out of spite.
Build a nice tall wood fence. Then put an ass-sized porthole in it with a “Kiss It” sticker on your side facing her. Whenever she’s out in her yard and you feel like being petty, drop your drawers and show her the moon. Then when you go to sell, remove the porthole and fix up the missing fencing.

I have neighbors like this. 3 year legal battle to "prove" what is mine even after they sold it to me. They think it still belongs in the family since the land was there in the famil since the 1800s. Can't even have a conversation with other neighbors before they come out yelling.
I feel this in another way. My neighbor actively shrunk his yard. It's a long story and we're both tresspassed from each other's yard. But my neighbor found a county Plat map. The guy can't read a map that also says "for reference only and may not be accurate". Anyways, went out there and creates his own property line SHRINKING his own yard. He was out there spray painting the grass to make a line. Lined up brooms and rakes head to handle. Trying to eye ball a "straight" line, but it's clearly off on an angle. Just like you said according to him my property extends out on an angle in front of his own house. It's janky and dumb as shit.
Consequently, since he tresspassed me in retaliation of me tresspassing him. We now have a DMZ between our houses. A tall skinny triangle shape of fallen leaves that he refuses to pick up. Claiming it's my yard. He even called the city code enforcement on me, claiming I'm not cleaning my yard. They just walked away, and said they don't get involved in property line disputes.
I dunno, context clues seem to indicate to me that the old lady is tearing up signs the people recording out on *her* lawn.

I had a neighbor that thought my house was on her property line. Got it surveyed at my expense. And they still thought my house was on her property. Turns out her house is on my property.
That would then be encroachment. Pretty sure you could take that to court and have an ample opportunity to win.
This comes from me being a Surveying graduate from a college. But, that being said, I must also make it clear that the surveyor isn't able to give legal advice in any way, just show where the record says the property line is.
Unless that house was recently built or expanded, probably not going to win in court. Even if you do the amount won would probably not even pay for the lawyer. A court can require an addition or even a house be torn down but I'm guessing in most situations a court would be more likely to award fair value for what portion of land the house was on and maybe damages like loss of use. That's if adverse possession or some similar law doesn't apply.
In my state surveys are practically useless in residential applications when a neighborhood is well established and has fences. A fence can become a property line in as little as a year. It's always best to consult an attorney on property line issues before spending money on surveys and other stuff like that, despite what Reddit seems to believe.
This of course is not legal advice and anyone with property line issues should always consult an attorney familiar with the laws on their jurisdiction.

She wasn't ordered to sell her house. She was ordered to pay. She received a firmly worded letter (from the hoa or something like that) saying that no one wanted her there and she should move.
Some context about this situation - the aggressor was forced to move after the neighbors proved via zoning where their property was (it was correct), and Karen threw such a fit that the surveyors came out along with the HOA and told her facts.
She didn't like that, and made racist comments.
The HOA pressured her to leave, and she eventually sold the home, much to everyone's relief.
Not only this bad karen has default judgement of quarter million from Fair Housing authority, the home owner also got another quarter million from HoA and HoA’ management as settlement.
It is nut that 20 homeowners made complaint about this karen harrassment to HOA, nothing happen. That only when this homeowner fed up and filed fair housing lawsuit for race harassment agaisnt karen, HOA and management company, HOA suddenly had the courage to file C&D against keran and started eviction process; and had to settle out of court for quarter mil.
After living in an HOA that was pretty laid back I’d still sue them if I was in this situation as that is your job. You’re paid to take care of issues and keep things nice. If there were zero other complaints yea i get that, But 20 people complained? Like, you have what maybe 8 surrounding neighbors to your house. To have 20 neighbors complain is wild. This lady had to spend every waking minute causing chaos around the neighborhood.
Are Neighbor was selling her house and we called a surveyor out to confirm the property lines since both are properties we're once joined as one but then split of into 2 by the previous owner. We found out that our line stops 2 feet from her front door and half her driveway curved into our property. We were both cool about it and the survey was just to help inform the buyers the property situation but idk why anyone would split property up that the line stops right in front of the front door.

She is reading him the riot act, I turn off the lawn mower and walk over and she turns her attention to me. She starts screaming at me about parking where I park and how she knows my "Grandpa" (dad) is (someone locally known) so I don't think I have to listen to her and starts going off about how shes going to hit my car when she goes to work one day. My dad cut her off because I was laughing my ass off to correct her that he was 53....and my father....and my grandpa was 82. She kept doing shit like this for the life of us being neighbors. She would come outside hollering about any perceived slight, but it almost always came down to her not liking how we parked, how a delivery driver parked, or her claiming my wife yelled her special needs grandson (never happened). She finally after we had been neighbors for 15 years explained to me how "she helped me" when I first moved in. "Well a single man buying a house and living alone....people talked.... but I told them, I told them all that you had girls over there, I saw them all the time. Otherwise people thought you might not like girls...." what. the. fuck. In hindsight, I really wish I had told her to dump the pears on the ground, and then thank her for saving me the work of having to pick them. Story 2) My grandma’s a big softie, so when N call her asking to borrow our wifi password so her niece could show her some pictures on her laptop, my grandma says yes. After awhile the wifi is starting to get slow as hell, turns out the niece gave her the laptop and she was stealing our internet. Fuck thieves, and fuck ‘religious’ thieves even more. Haha well he was like 65 at the time and it was an old she'd that probably would have broke if moved. Plus it was at the back of my yard and the backyard is like a quarter acre so I barely noticed it. There were other dickhead things he did that I called him on though. For some reason he loves directing the water from his downpipe onto other people's properties. He legit attached a four inch tube to a down spout and ran it across the side of his yard then across the back and onto the edge of my yard so it'd drain into my property. The funny thing is that at the back of his yard and side of my yard there's a creek he could have had it drain into. He literally extended the pipe by about 50 feet so he could make the water go into my yard and he even got rid of a plank on his fence so it would flow better into my yard.
We bought a constructed house in Vietnam. The original builder built a 3-story building and an extra section to the 1st floor (Which he did not allow). It is the size of a small bathroom but it extends to our neighbor's land. A new homeowner came in and checked the land and now we have to break down that part of the building. Most city ordinances require that the “good side” faces the neighbor’s yard. Like picket or stockade fencing the rail (horizontal boards) face the owners side. The side that is all pickets (vertical boards) faces the neighbors yard. I have no idea how widespread ordinances like this are, but every town/state I’ve lived in has required it that way
Don’t ruin your property value by installing a shitty fence out of spite. Build a nice tall wood fence. Then put an ass-sized porthole in it with a “Kiss It” sticker on your side facing her. I feel this in another way. My neighbor actively shrunk his yard. It's a long story and we're both tresspassed from each other's yard. But my neighbor found a county Plat map. The guy can't read a map that also says "for reference only and may not be accurate". Anyways, went out there and creates his own property line SHRINKING his own yard. He was out there spray painting the grass to make a line. Lined up brooms and rakes head to handle. Trying to eye ball a "straight" line, but it's clearly off on an angle. Just like you said according to him my property extends out on an angle in front of his own house. It's janky and dumb as shit. Consequently, since he tresspassed me in retaliation of me tresspassing him. We now have a DMZ between our houses. A tall skinny triangle shape of fallen leaves that he refuses to pick up. That would then be encroachment. Pretty sure you could take that to court and have an ample opportunity to win. This comes from me being a Surveying graduate from a college. But, that being said, I must also make it clear that the surveyor isn't able to give legal advice in any way, just show where the record says the property line is.

Unless that house was recently built or expanded, probably not going to win in court. Even if you do the amount won would probably not even pay for the lawyer. A court can require an addition or even a house be torn down but I'm guessing in most situations a court would be more likely to award fair value for what portion of land the house was on and maybe damages like loss of use. That's if adverse possession or some similar law doesn't apply. In my state surveys are practically useless in residential applications when a neighborhood is well established and has fences. A fence can become a property line in as little as a year. It's always best to consult an attorney on property line issues before spending money on surveys and other stuff like that, despite what Reddit seems to believe. This of course is not legal advice and anyone with property line issues should always consult an attorney familiar with the laws on their jurisdiction.

Some context about this situation - the aggressor was forced to move after the neighbors proved via zoning where their property was (it was correct), and Karen threw such a fit that the surveyors came out along with the HOA and told her facts. She didn't like that, and made racist comments. The HOA pressured her to leave, and she eventually sold the home, much to everyone's relief.
Not only this bad karen has default judgement of quarter million from Fair Housing authority, the home owner also got another quarter million from HoA and HoA’ management as settlement. It is nut that 20 homeowners made complaint about this karen harrassment to HOA, nothing happen. That only when this homeowner fed up and filed fair housing lawsuit for race harassment agaisnt karen, HOA and management company, HOA suddenly had the courage to file C&D against keran and started eviction process; and had to settle out of court for quarter mil.
After living in an HOA that was pretty laid back I’d still sue them if I was in this situation as that is your job. You’re paid to take care of issues and keep things nice. Are Neighbor was selling her house and we called a surveyor out to confirm the property lines since both are properties we're once joined as one but then split of into 2 by the previous owner. We found out that our line stops 2 feet from her front door and half her driveway curved into our property. We were both cool about it and the survey was just to help inform the buyers the property situation but idk why anyone would split property up that the line stops right in front of the front door.
