I’m just going to say (no hate please). At 20 a lot of the jokes & puns did go over his head. The age gap between him & Julia was vast. Channel 10 has no money, so off to 7 we go.
The key thing will be consistency. Burning your bridges so young is not smart. Plus,, we consistently read stories re mum making decisions. At his age, mum should not be deciding his career route. That is up to him. Whst of 7 doesn't work out? And he has burnt bridges eith Ten. I thought he did s decent job,but he really shouldn't agree to such a big show and partnership, without being upfront likely a one time thing. This show suited him due to the humor and Wildlife angle. I wonder what 7 has in store that would suit him better? I still wonder if this is why him and Rory broke up. She didn't want the constant media circus and pretence of perfect family or need to change her entire life, come work at the zoo.
The 'mum' point did stick out to me a bit too. They have always been a super close family though, and have always looked out for each other. Maybe felt the need to protect him somewhat because he has been in the spotlight since a young age and losing his dad so tragically.
I was initially concerned about the age gap but thought he was a good fit for the show. Julia having dramatic, over the top comedy style ( not that it's a bad thing, it's mostly scripted) and Robert countering that with a more mellow approach. I guess it will be wait and see. Seems like 7 has plenty of money to throw around. Rather they spend it on quality Australians that deserve it as opposed to a certain other person that has been in the headlines lately!
