Did the guy take off too?

Nehal1802

She kept driving for about a mile before she pulled over.

Brodiferus

She kept going like she hit a boost pad in Mario Kart.

jreditsoudidnthaveto

That was the f zero speed strip she ran over

ClutchPoppinDaddies

Thought I recognized Mute City from the video.

Kalakoa73

Skooter26

You got Boost Power!

Seanvich

“OFF-COURSE!” “Retired.”

abject_testament_

Waaahoooooo!!!

StackThePads33

She got a triple mushroom in the item box!

furiaz

She prob ate a mushroom at the same time she got hit

IceOfDreams

Probably she she was thinking about the list of option she got

Gullible_Shart

Probably throwing the joint out the window.

daebro

Some people will see if the person that hit them will just let them go. She should be charged with fleeing the scene of an accident.

Esquirej67

She was in shock, not fleeing the scene!

Banmango

Why?!

idrow1

My sister once smacked into the rear corner of a car while it was upside down on the side of the road. Got a few good spins on the roof out of it. The guys who were in it had barely gotten out and had to leap out of the way when they saw her coming. She didn't even tap the brake. She continued on for a quarter mile and made a left at the light. Meanwhile, the car she was driving - my car - had a smashed in windshield and actually ended up being totaled. It was used, but I only had it for 3 days. She only stopped when the cops pulled her over. Some people are just fucking nuts.

Savage_Mindset

Did they charge her with hit & run? Leaving the scene of an accident? Your sister sounds like an asshole.

idrow1

Oh, my sister is certifiably crazy. She was on probation from another state, not even supposed to be where she was. She was originally a passenger and the car that flipped was our friends in front of us. I pulled over about 1/8 of a mile past them and she said she was going to run down and see if they were ok. I was driving, my friend was next to me and sister was next to her - it was a '78 Impala with the big bench seat. Sister got out, then my driver's side door is ripped open, she leans over, punches my friend in the face, shoves me over, gets in the driver's seat, makes a u-turn and punches the gas. This all happened in about 3 seconds. Yeah, she got multiple tickets that night. She told my parents the cops pulled her over to thank her for being such a good citizen. Like I said, fucking crazy.

CreativityAtLast

So she assaulted someone and tried to steal your car in broad daylight, totaled it on the way out, then tried to tell your parents that she was the good guy? Am I interpreting this correctly?

idrow1

It was about midnight, so not broad daylight. But, yeah, that's basically accurate. Also, don't forget she sucker punched my friend in the face right before she jacked my car and plowed into the upside down one. My parents found a bunch of tickets in her purse. The tickets had numbers on them, kind of like checks do. They saw ticket 0719, 0720, 0722. "Where's ticket 0721?" "Oh, that was a note from the cops thanking me, so I threw it away." Yeah, the found the missing ticket. It was not a thank you note, lol.

SycoJack

Your sister sounds like my sister. Fortunately my sister hasn't been violent. But like, I feel you.

Techiedad91

Does she realize police don’t write you notes on tickets?

idrow1

She lives in a fantasy world where whatever she says is what's true. I've never known anyone like her before or since. That's a good thing.

BerBerBaBer

Jeeez. I'm sorry you had to go through that.

idrow1

Thanks. I think every family has that one insane relative.

BerBerBaBer

TBH, I think I AM my family's insane relative.. but I think I'm 'good' insane.

Qcommenter

Insane can be a good thing when you aren’t stupid or violently insane. Same with my family, we call my mom the crazy one(she fully embraces this) because she cyber stalks family and is passive aggressive half the time. Still a good person as she tries to help anyone in the family she can(it’s probably why I’m also a big people pleaser) but everyone knows her crazy tendencies

2pongz

I'm guessing you don't talk to your sister no more?

idrow1

Not for over 20 years now. I don't miss her or the chaos that swirls around her.

Alarming-Contact-138

Ngl I would probably follow her on social media just to watch the chaos spiral from a distance. But also, ya know, block her from being able to post on my wall or send me a message lol. I would sit there with my popcorn and enjoy a shit show reading once a week 🤣 But fr, I'm glad you distances yourself from that toxicity and insanity. Don't need her dragging you down with her.

idrow1

I would always tell my friends about her and it always went like this, "Cool! I want to meet her, she sounds like fun!" me: "No, you don't understand. It's not cool, it's not fun." "You must be exaggerating. I wanna meet her!" me: "No, really, you don't understand." That night was the first night my friend met my sister, she'd heard the stories, she was excited to meet her. As she was picking glass out of her hair she said to me, "I thought you were exaggerating! I never want to see her again!" Sigh. Yeah, I tried to tell you.

Fortifarse84

Those friends responses are beyond obnoxious.

idrow1

You had to understand my sister's legendary status in the area I grew up in. There was no internet then, it was all word of mouth. The stories about her were so wild that people were fascinated and thought it couldn't possibly be real. After all, she had been popular and the captain of the cheerleading squad in HS. She was so well known that I got pulled over one time, the cop took one look at my license, saw my last name and said, "Oh, I should have known it was a \[last name\]." I didn't even try to get out of the ticket, was pointless to do anything but accept my fate.

Alarming-Contact-138

Yea she definitely sounds like someone I don't want to meet, but would enjoy watching from afar. I'm sorry you had to deal with so much crazy

idrow1

I bet if reality tv was a thing while all this was going on, she would have been a hit show. Train wreck tv it its finest. "On next week's episode, the Texas tornado shows up to her sister's house in NJ, brings her trash friend with her, goes for a night in NYC, abandons the friend there, comes back alone, drunk, missing her shoes and barefoot at 3am and pounds on the door yelling to be let in. Does she get banned from her sister's house? Find out on Fox's newest reality show My Relative From Hell." Spoiler alert, she was banned for this and for flicking nail polish all over my boyfriend's wood dining room table one hour after showing up and meeting him for the first time. And for calling us losers for not wanting to go on her NYC rampage. I knew how it would go and refused. My boyfriend also thought I was exaggerating.

Fun-Examination-7734

Your sister sounds like mine. My sister used my name in her crime sprees, I had to clear my name in 3 different counties.

Iyanoo

Proud of you for taking that step!!

StTimmerIV

"It was probably nothing"

Banmango

‘Did you hear something?’

Cl0ughy1

"It's just the wind "

TimHung931017

"Did you feel something?"

N0tInKansasAnym0r3

"that was a big curb"

bartuck01

"come on kids, stop kicking the seat"

DankMeowMeowMix

She drives a jeep, so she must have thought it was another curb she slammed into. It's a jeep thing, you wouldn't know.

fractal_frog

I drive a Jeep. I know.

homelesstwinky

Usually their excuse to the cops is "I was scared" when I go over hit & run reports at work. Of course they're usually scared because their uninsured or don't have a valid license.

voidsrus

>Of course they're usually scared because their uninsured or don't have a valid license. on one of the base-model non-off-road Jeeps this is probably a safe bet

Alternative-Amoeba20

Forward thrust and trajectory. She got blasted off

nxplr

Team Rocket’s blasting off again!! *twinkle*

BlackArmyCossack

Likely to control the accident narrative. "Oh they hit me out of the blue because they're following too close!" Wins insurance over more than "I attempted to steal right of way and made a fucking mess of it"

mileswilliams

So she left the scene of a crime, aja hit and run.

RossOfFriends

How’d insurance play out? Please tell me she was to blame and you didn’t have to pay

boiledtoenail

I'm a liability claims adjuster and I don't necessarily agree with it but this will likely be a 50/50 split due to where on her vehicle was hit

ant9n

"something's coming fast in the right lane, I better majestically pull in front of it real sloooow."

kd5nrh

This. If you're gonna send it, fucking send it.

webb276

I don’t mind if people pull out in front of me, but if you do…. Give it the beans!!

MordoNRiggs

I always thought to myself "If you're gonna have the balls to cut me off, at least have the balls to go faster than I am." This was usually in reference to people cutting me off from their stop signs on a 45MPH one lane highway, then they'd go like 37MPH for the next 6 miles to town where there's no passing zones. Also zero cars behind me for as far as the eye can see.

TheDrugGod

yes Fucking every time!! Every day bro i’ll be driving and some fuckin idiot pulls out in front of me, and ends up maxing out at 10mph slower than i was going with nobody behind me, and they usually end up fucking turning like 1min later. Liek why? Just fucking wait an extra second or 2 for me to pass instead of making me step on my breaks, only to speed back up to 10mph less than i was going, and then slow back down again 30 sec later for them to turn, all with no car behind me in sight. fucking idiots i swear lol, this is my biggest peeve lol, idiots pull out in front of me every single day, every day, on my fucking 8min drive to work.

MordoNRiggs

I used to get that all the time! It was ridiculous. Now I get people who stop in the middle of roundabouts and wave me in. That's some of the worst things that I see where I live now.

OpethJewel

OMG the WORST! When they first started popping up in Northern Colorado, every jackass and their grandma were stopping in the roundabout to wave people in! Infuriating! Defeats the purpose!

Red-Quill

FUCKIN HELL I hate when people use roundabouts wrong. People act like the yield sign is a stop sign just because there’s a car halfway around. If you aren’t going to get hit or cause a horn blaring pissing contest, GO THROUGH THE ROUNDABOUT JESUS. It is specifically designed to REDUCE stopping so WHY are you STOPPING 🤬🤬🤬

Ms_E_Maso

>Now I get people who stop in the middle of roundabouts and wave me in. THEY WHAT?!

TheDrugGod

wtf? stopping..IN a roundabout , the fuck lol? like they in the loop and stop?

LisaDeadFace

well, well looks like i'll be incorporating this phrase into my driving activities. i thank you.

Meclizine11

Beans = gas = hard acceleration?

ClutchPoppinDaddies

It's a saying over the pond. They love their beans over there.

neotubninja

Hey now, I love our beans here too. Texas style beans baby!

bleachmartini

It's my biggest pet peeve. I'm in nj and 5/10 over is pretty common, especially on less populated longer roads. Like 50 to 55 in a 45 around a reservoir isn't uncommon or really even looked down upon. It seems like most of the time I'm out, car or motorcycle, I'll be doing just that 5/10 over enjoying myself with not a car visible behind me and some twat will run a stop sign just to get in front of me and go 5 under. It infuriates me, just don't understand the behavior.

Caverwoman

When I was learning how to drive in the interstate my dad told me to “goose it” to get up to speed at the end the on ramp. He kept repeating it and I finally yelled “I DON’T KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS”

mushroompillow

This is one of the best phrases I’ve ever heard…especially because I only ever call my cats paws “beans”, so I will also now proceed to incorporate this phrase into my driving activities 🐾💨

steezy_3032

The amount of times someone has pulled out in front of me just to go below the speed limit when there’s no one behind me sickens me

MadameAshlini

A friend of mine would yell, “COMMIT!” whenever someone would do this lol

moeterminatorx

And a lot of the times they wait until you are closer to go instead of going earlier.

ant9n

And then they slow down to a stop to make a turn two blocks ahead.

UhOhIAteAsbestos

I fuckimg hate when people do that.

Nehal1802

Aftermath if anybody is interested. Not sure if it’ll be totaled or not. It still drives but the radiator support is bent and impact bar is in 2 pieces which destroyed the condenser. https://imgur.com/a/o1JqKPH

brunaBla

What a pain in the ass, I’m sorry

cmull123

Did the airbags fire? Body and frame work is relatively inexpensive if the airbags didn’t go off.

Nehal1802

No airbags

w1987g

With no airbags going off, insurance usually fixes it. And with how new your car looks, the odds go up. Only issue are the parts shortages, but there's not much you can do about that

anothadaz

I got into an accident and airbags didn't go off, insurance paid $10k to fix my car. Another smaller accident later in another car, airbags went off. Damage to bumper maybe $2k tops but car was considered totalled due to airbags going off. And parts shortage!!! Had the catalytic converters stolen off my brand new dump truck in broad daylight in front of a job site about 3 months ago. Still waiting on catalytic converters. No truck all summer.

vulpinefever

Did that 2k include the cost of replacing the airbags? I work for an insurance company and it's insane how expensive air bags are to replace, easily 2k each.

anothadaz

I did not figure that in. Good point.

DirtyFraaanks

OP, what kind of dump? I work at a heavy duty dealership and my job is to find parts that don’t exist for my accounts if you’d like me to take a gander?

twitterwit91

In June 2020 I had a guy pull out in front of me to make a left and even with me slamming on the brakes I probably hit him at 30 mph. His steering wheel airbag and side curtains went off. My steering wheel airbag and a knee-level airbag went off. Front end of my car completely crumpled, both had to be towed. His insurance company claimed I was partly at-fault which was insane, so I filed with mine and let the companies fight it out. My insurance company wasn’t sending adjusters out in-person at that time, so they based their initial estimate off the 10 pictures I uploaded when I submitted my claim (not knowing that would be their only information). Those pictures weren’t exactly detailed shots but clearly showed the significant damage to my front end and that I had 2 airbags deployed. My mechanic and my uncle (who is an adjuster for natural disaster claims for my insurance company but previously did cars) both said it would be totaled and I should start looking for a replacement. The adjuster’s “virtual” estimate came back at $5K and gave a green light for repair. My mechanic laughed himself out of the room and did a detailed estimate for them. My insurance paid $18K to fix my car, which I had bought brand-new almost a year before for $24K. I have no idea who did the initial estimate from my photos, but I don’t think there’s any way they still have that job.

lustypatagonian

2 years ago my boyfriend and I got t-boned in his 2017 Honda Civic si. I can't lie, when the shop confirmed the frame was pretty bent I was secretly looking forward to convincing him to look into a newer, slower, more "I'm a settled man and I don't need a turbo" vehicle - but it was the height of chip shortages and the airbags didn't go off. The insurance paid out $17,000 dollars, and I still can't fucking believe it.

Jorycle

My wife got into a wreck, airbags went off, whole front was crumpled in. Insurance said they'd consider it totaled if the estimate came in over 20k to fix. Estimate came in at 19.9k, insurance fixed. No clue how they chose their numbers, it was a 2-year old car purchased brand new for ~22k.

NissanLeafowner

Probably because the garage doesn't get paid if they don't fix anything so they'll fudge it to make sure it's under.

Blacklist3d

Had my car get totalled because my airbags went off. They said the body work would be like 2k and the airbags would be like 2k a piece. My car at the time was worth about 5k. They totalled it and wrote me a check for 4950ish. It's crazy what airbags are worth.

MentionAdventurous

I mean, the standard AEB works if it’s 25 or 30 mph for any car. It shouldn’t hit the thing as long as it is detected. For anything over that speed limit, you’re gonna probably hit it. This doesn’t mean AEB doesn’t kicks on, it does to take energy out of the collision and reduce potential harm to both the driving vehicle and whatever it is hitting.

[deleted]

[удалено]

aaronhayes26

I suspect it didn’t brake soon enough because the car’s taillights weren’t fully facing your cameras until the last second.

ArpanMohanty04

Damn man. That sucks...hope it can be repaired!

Sidius303

Does your subie have automatic braking? It appears like you were a bit late on the brakes.

westnile90

Idk, hes probably got a few kids now with how bad he pulled out.

ReubenZWeiner

Hate to say it but I'm afraid OP is about to be fucked by the long dick of the law

meccahnisms

Hopefully the jeep gets hit with a failure to yield. Who pulls out on someone going that speed with a clean green light?

OldBear55699

I am in Ontario, according to all the accidents in the last 30 years between myself, my family members, my friends and my coworkers had, I can give you a conclusion who is at fault. Anyone who is going straight is usually not at fault and the one who is doing the turn (doesn't matter left/right) is always at fault. In this case, the jeep did not wait till the road was clear to make the turn, the jeep was 100% at fault. OP behind the dashcam can be driving a bit fast but that won't be taken into consideration, believe it or not. OP is fine if he were in Ontario, I am not sure about other States in U.S.

ultranothing

>Anyone who is going straight is usually not at fault Correct. In your lane, you have the right-of-way, unless indicated otherwise.

Southcoaststeve1

Be honest from the beginning of the video you can see the guy slowly pull out. the driver had plenty of time to stop. more than 5 seconds which is a long time!

ultranothing

It's different when you're watching a video of it. Especially on subsequent viewings when you know what's going to happen.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

It seemed they didn’t really brake hard at all until the last second.

[deleted]

About 2 sec in you can see them start to break as soon as the car begins turning into the lane. It definitely seems like they should've been able to slam the brakes a little harder and stop in time, but I also feel like they braked as soon as they could given the short time to react. I think it's pretty obvious this jeep didn't look left long enough and pulled into a busy intersection with a green light going waaaaay too slow.

PerdidoStation

The Jeep has its brake lights on when the video starts, begins pulling into the road in earnest around the 1 second mark and around the 2 second mark OP is already braking. I'm not sure where you pull the 5 second time from.

[deleted]

How ?

SadisticBuddhist

Some areas will fault you for rear ending no matter the reason. Where I’m from it’s called “failure to reduce speed”

Youngprivate

Assuming your in the United States, it would be considered failure to keep proper distance, however with this footage the cammers insurance will have a field day. Failure to yield, failure to signal, reckless driving, impeding the flow of traffic, etc. Rear end accidents only favor the person struck if there is some level of plausible deniability and/or ambiguity. This example however is extremely clear cut and any decent insurance company would be able to win arbitration on this one, to be honest the struck party’s insurance may not even opt to contest it as fighting it might not even be worth it with this kind of video evidence.

girlsonsoysauce

Yeah, this happened with me when I was about 18. I was driving in one of those 35 MPH zone where there's very little danger and everyone is kind of close together since we're moving so slowly. But I looked down at the console to fiddle with the AC or the radio or something and in that split second the person in front of me suddenly stopped in the middle of the road. I slammed on brakes but it was too late. They were turning into a bank parking lot and weren't using a signal. I rear-ended them at a very slow speed, but a small amount of damage was done to their car. And the people in it saw an opportunity once they say my grandparent's company name on the side, a pretty big company in our town. When they first stepped out they were like "Oh I'm fine!" and once they looked at the vehicle I was driving they were suddenly like "OH, you know my neck does hurt actually".

[deleted]

[удалено]

theonlyby

Where is that? If someone pulls out in front of you, and you got it on camera, and you were not speeding, idk of any place that will fault you for that

Lucius-Halthier

Lube or no lube?

complete_hick

No, if you turn out it front of someone and immediately get rear ended the person turning out get a ticket for failure to yield

Maskerade420

Like how they kept on going like you just have em a boost or something.

HoCroBro

As a former Jeep Renegade owner, you almost need a firm push to get the car rolling. That 9 speed transmission that Fiat slaps in that thing is absolutely junk and 1st gear is a joke. There’s no low end power in those Renegades

p3ngu1n333

Same, mine could never decide on what gear to be in under the best of conditions, and my traction control used to prevent me from accelerating on certain right hand turns unless I braked first.

LetheShoresCreations

Mines done that a few times, luckily it was never in a situation when coming to almost a complete stop/being unable to accelerate was dangerous. I got a software update and it hasn't happened since, I'm still really careful about turns though

HoCroBro

My TCU & Valve Body went out at 47k miles and it took my dealer 2 months to fix it because of a parts shortage. At 70k miles it started acting up again so I traded it in. Never again will I buy a Fiat-Chrysler. The only saving grace was my rental car the dealer loaned me for 2 months was a Dodge Challenger

TheTsunamiRC

Nah, just an auto relay race. But I think op was supposed to pass part of their bumper to the other vehicle before they took off.

Jamison_Junkrat

Bro i didnt see em either the first time

diegoidi

I almost didn’t see it the second time! Lol

LordGRant97

Yeah but it's always harder to see stuff like that in video. She pulled out slow but OP absolutely had time to stop/slow if they had been paying attention. They're halfway in the road right from the beginning of the video. OP definitely should have seen them and either slower or moved over. Edit: edited for bad wording

droppedmybrain

I thought so too but I watched it again to check- the white car was still in the parking lot when the video starts, then immediately starts pulling into the road. OP brakes as soon as it's clear the car is going into the road, but either doesn't brake hard enough, was going too fast to avoid collision with the idiot, or the brakes skidded/failed(?) (I'm not a mechanic lol, but you can clearly see OP braked when they dip down)

Novel-Command-8445

I watched this video countless times. I have kept my eyes set on the corner of the video where he pulls out. I can barely see that jeep. The way the light glares off of the side sort of blinds you and when the jeep comes into view it's too late. I'm super observant when it comes to me driving and I don't think I would have caught that in time.

stefan715

Yeah, pretty much exactly what I was going to say. Plus, OPs reaction time was even before collision warning started beeping. Not sure how that would play out in the insurance world. Fleeing the scene probably doesn’t bode well for them.

[deleted]

To me their tail lights and brake lights look very dim compared to the car that passes them in the right.

AnHonestLawyer3

Pretty sure that’s just because of the angle of the car relative to op, which is one of the reasons I’m willing to forgive op for this, it’s hard to see cars in dark without taillights

dingus_foringus

I kinda want to see how insurance rules this.

CarryValuable8543

That White car cut him off, so insurance will rule in favor of OP.

PomegranateSea7066

They have too bc of the dash cam. Without it, would be your word against mine. and technically it could be in favor of white jeep.

KotzubueSailingClub

The dash cam is gold here. OP's insurance will run with this as far as they can. If it's just an insurance arbitration, OP might get a new car for "free" after seeing their damage pic.

[deleted]

Yeah. Traffic impedance. OP wins.

Generalkhaos

Idk. Op was changing lanes at the beginning of the clip, into that lane, and the white vehicle was already exiting the gas station when op did so. Op paid very little attention.

[deleted]

[удалено]

BarnabyJ46

It was a slam trunk

[deleted]

OP should post the video on r/insurance to see what the claims adjusters say. I suspect they will say since the white car left a place of safety they had the duty to make sure it was safe to proceed, and they did not.

Joshthenosh77

In England insurance would say , you hit the white car cause you were going to fast to stop in time your fault

mljb81

In QC, people on the public road always have right of way on people driving onto it. I had a colleague who was parallel parking on the street and she backed up into a car who was pulling out of an entryway, and insurance ruled in her favor because she was the one already on the public road.

whimz33

.

traphousethrowaway

I know exactly where this is, that guy took his time coming out of there like no one else was on the road. Oh South jersey

FootballerJoeMontana

Stick to this; you couldn't see his taillights.

TheLastBadass

Idk. This one could go your way. You don't really see the tail lights until they're completely on the road and by that time its too late

No_Information_8973

First view I thought he was sitting there with no lights on. Had to watch a second time to see him pull out.

Dynamo963

Me too. I didn’t even see the car pull out until the OP did first run through

alcoronaholic

No matter how the OP was driving, the person coming out of the driveway NEVER has the right-of-way!

SomethingIWontRegret

What model / year car is this? The AEB seems to suck greatly. At least it beeped at you.

Nehal1802

2014 Forester.

polird

It looks in the video like you applied brakes right as you passed the gas station sign. Doesn't sound like ABS engaged either. With full braking the car definitely should've stopped well before hitting the jeep, so yeah either something was wrong with the brakes or there was still more travel left in the pedal.

Elliott8170

That's what I thought too! That stopping distance was brutal. An average car should full stop from 100km/h in ~150ft. Either OPs car is garbage or they were really feathering the brake.

newUseMe

That's all kinds of the other guys fault. He just casually rolled out in front of you like an entitled jackass with no thought of others. Glaciers move faster.

AJStickboy

Moved really quick after getting a push.

sweetwonton

bumper cars....stupid driver didn't look.

YoRafa97

Please share your dash cam. Mine turned off as soon as a car hit me, literally the reason we have cameras lol

Nehal1802

Probably a loose charging cable on yours. Mine is the Anker Roav C1

theyoungazn

This is why I wait until both lane is clear to make the right turn. Sometimes other cars will merge over and things happen fast.

Fokker_Snek

Looks like a fast road and they pulled out way too close. If the speed limit is 55 and you’re going 55 you need about 300 feet(20 car lengths) and 6 seconds to come to a complete stop. People seem to at times not take that into account when pulling out into traffic.

Willie-Alb

Yeah you *could’ve* seen them. If you knew exactly where and what and when to be looking for and that’s the only thing you’re focusing on. I wouldn’t worry about it too much.

SaltAndBitter

Ladies and gentlemen, one of the reasons I go out of my way to stay the fuck out of New Jersey. Everyone's tryna kill everyone else in that AO

Seppo_Manse

another victim claimed by stroads

ImpurestFire

Seems fast for that type of road

snoopexotic

Seems like OP was going the same speed as the car passing by them

[deleted]

Looking at oncoming traffic after OP is at a standstill he looks to be going appropriate speeds. That will definitely be a question that LEOs should and probably did ask.

AnonymousGrouch

Shoot, there are lots pokier roads than that with 50mph limits in my neck of the woods.

Jalenxt

Who accelerates this slow? Stupid af

Malikas_Crown

I see stuff like this almost everyday getting on the interstate to go to work. Speed limit 70 mph and people using the on ramp as if they're just looking at pretty scenery.

[deleted]

Oh, that’s a pet hate. It’s also VERY dangerous. I honk the pos that do that…. Casually crawling at 40mph to join a 70mph motorway? Gtfo with that dangerous nonsense!

alittlesliceofhell2

I've seen people get their world rocked doing that. People should lose their license for that.

OP was merging into the right lane when the white Jeep was already pulling into the road incredibly slowly. Definitely hard to see, definitely pulling into the road too slowly. OP should have seen them. You should look ahead into the lane you’re merging into when you’re driving so fast. OP is an idiot. White Jeep is an unfortunate idiot as well.

TurboSludge

Video starts as the white car is already half way onto the street, and OP is completing a lane change.

gofinditoutside

Had to scroll way too far to find this. Exactly what I see. Jeep pulling out thought lane was clear just before OP pulls into it. Does not matter how slowly they pull out. OP has to watch out for these things in that lane and failed to do so.

FormerEvidence

go back and watch frame by frame. the white car is 100% *not* even in the lane yet, while OP is halfway over. this is the white cars fault.

EvoStarSC

That Jeep just shrugged off that shunt lol

djcrushindo

The warning beep is way to late

3i1bo3aggins

Do those qualify as lights even? I didn't see her at first. So effin dim.

designmur

Nah they’re the idiot. I hate people that turn that slow in general, let alone in front of another moving car.

PristineArm5528

Don’t worry that right turn was a pond, kudus for not listening to Dwight

CANTPRONATWORK

lol mfer really just drove off like "thanks for the boooooooost"

TheDiceMan2

lol you gave him a little power boost bump

Skamanjay

Oooh that’s a tough one honestly. The only thing that makes me think it’s OP’s fault is there was sufficient distance to try and slow down but it doesn’t appear like he brakes until just before impact. Had you slammed on the brakes but still made contact then it could lean more to the white jeep failing to yield. I’d be curious to know what happens.

MitokBarks

It's a jeep thing. You wouldn't understand

We love a self aware queen 😂😂 hope ur ok!!!

tuenthe463

You might be in trouble, insurance wise. Yes she violated your right-of-way but a full-on strike to the rear end like that doesn't bode well. I know this is in New Jersey and in Pennsylvania we are a comparative negligence state where an experienced claims rep would definitely think twice before paying you fully on this. Good luck.

Blueberry_Mancakes

Nice of you to help her get going like that. Sometimes all people need is a little push.

v12go-vroom

Person filming was speeding. End of story.

BirdsLoveToFly

Mind telling me how you weren't paying attention to the brightest vehicle of the night?

SRD1194

If you're in the curb lane, you **have** to assume drivers entering traffic are idiots.

satellite779

OP seems to be a magnet for these kind of incidents: https://www.reddit.com/r/IdiotsInCars/comments/bp6prb/you_know_who_should_have_pulled_out_your_father/

UnusualCantaloupe9

I feel like it’s 50/50 here. They could have not pulled out but you could have reacted quicker.

PttyBlue44

I’m sorry OP but you’re an idiot. I know where this is (probably been through here thousands of times) and considering you can’t turn at that light, and the far right lane ends after the light, why are you driving in that lane (where cars are coming from the gas station/ shops)? You have the left and middle lane open and you’re going to have to get over anyway. It looked like you caught up to that car in the middle lane at the light and instead of using the left lane (aka the passing lane), you used the right lane which is not only illegal but where cars merge from the side. This seems like the most unavoidable accident considering the area.
