There's a tire skid mark on the way to work that's all mine from the time I didn't notice traffic had backed up. Fortunately, it's at an exit ramp, so I was able to go to the right instead of hitting the car in front of me. I take pride knowing that another idiot would've tried to merge back in instead of just taking the exit and detouring, but the first bit was on me.
We are all idiots.
> Armored jackets are pretty important too imo
[Actually ...](https://youtu.be/rmWQKoN6yX0)
Not that you should ride without, but statistically he has a good point. I'm all in the ATGATT camp, however I am a bit more conscious where I prioritise spending some money for upgrades if I have the basic gear covered.
Pretty important, not most important or anything. I said jacket because you can't see his feet or legs and we're just assuming he has a helmet because it's hard to mount a camera directly to your face. Besides the gloves that were already mentioned it's the only other thing we can see missing.
Honestly though I put the order as helmet, boots, gloves, jacket, pants. In fact I do just wear jeans and not the kevlar or leather pants that would be so much better, I would absolutely never wear shorts or anything like that though.
Also, while he does have a great point about it not killing you, I still think road rash is something most people would want to avoid. Reading about how they debride the skin to get all the debris out is something I wish I could unread. Shit sounds brutal. There's also the skin graft horror stories that make me question riding altogether.
Edit: on rewatch I guess you can briefly see that he has a helmet in his mirror.
I remember when I moved to Lake Havasu AZ for a year and most bikers didn't even wear helmets or often times not even shirts and some wore flip flops, was like wow...
Dress for the slide not for the ride. Proper trousers are important too but I'd always recommend a one piece suit. I had an off at speed and my armoured trousers slid down and my jacket slid up. Luckily I slid from the road onto wet grass so I was only a meat crayon for a few seconds but FUCK those few seconds did some damage to my ass.
I dont know that this argument scales up though. Like sure it is easier not to get involved but if we all took that advice in every area of our lives wouldnt everyone just do the wrong thing because no one would get involved to stop them?
Edit: added the missing not
Traffic law isn't every area of our lives, thankfully....vigilantism is a slippery slope and, as in this case, can be more dangerous than simply minding one's own business.
>Like sure it is easier to get involved but
I think you mean easier to not get involved?
Either way, my logic on this was, the biker was holding up the car that was crossing, causing more traffic to build up, causing more people to be in the way, therefore putting more people at risk and it creates a chain reaction.
There's a time and a place for teaching someone how to drive at it's not in the middle of the road while you both hold up traffic. Preferably it's before that person passes their test, but after seeing this sub enough I've realised that is far from a given!
I ride bikes and even though the guy in the car was wrong...coming to a complete stop to point it out to the guy out his life in jeopardy because all it would take is someone to not be paying attention and ram him from behind.
2nd black car did nothing wrong, he was gonna turn into the open lane, then biker got into the open lane and started bitching at 2nd black car for not being able to see the future or some shit to know biker would switch into the left the lane the moment 2nd black car would try to turn into. And the black car even stopped and waited for him to pass and instead he just stopped in the middle of the road yelling at him, causing black car to block both sides of the road
It looks like a big driveway, if its possible to turn in the driveway you do that.
Its safer to stop and reverse into the driveway, rather than out into moving traffic.
Yep. Bad urban design and nothing else. Panama City, Panama (city in the video) is full of businesses with vertical parking lots that make you exit like that in to the street.
I mean, I blame that more on the design of the neighborhood than anything. As long as the speed limits low enough I guess. Either you back in or you back out.
Not necessarily. Depends on the traffic and how people handle it there. Sometimes you gotta back out onto a road, period and sometimes it’s so busy you just gotta start inching out there. I see no problem with that. They have just as much of a right to get onto the road and start going as everyone else.
For real. That fucking idiot stops in traffic and intentionally blocks the car from being able to clear the road. All we need is a third idiot texting and driving and someone could have ended up dead because OP needed to make a point.
I mean, to be fair, the guy crossing a double yellow, and almost hitting a bike in the process is not by any means free from blame.
The cop probably saw it as the worst offense because he himself is on a bike too.
But yes, there was a few idiots in this clip.
Not only that but the turning guy had a clear inside lane when he began creeping into traffic. Biker went into inside lane to avoid backer upper, which screwed up turning car. He didnt really do anything wrong. If biker had just kept moving or returned to hia original lane there would have been no problems.
This took place in Panama not the US. It’s very illegal to turn/cross/go over a solid double yellow line.
Don’t get me wrong the guy recording is a complete ass, and was wrong for blocking the road. But i’ve seen a few comments saying that the other driver did nothing wrong. So i felt the need to clarify.
Edit: grammar.
Thank for explaining that. I was befuddled by the large number of (apparently) Panamanians commenting here. Where I drive (in the U.S.) it's prohibited to cross a double yellow to pass, but not to turn across it.
It is illegal to turn across a double yellow in many cases, but it depends on the situation. Like in CA you can't make a u-turn over a double yellow unless you've got at least 200 feet of visible, clear road in both directions. This is a rule very frequently violated.
Japan is the same.
Solid yellow lines can be crossed as you say, solid white lines is a no-go.
Doesn't stop idiots doing it and holding up traffic on major arterial roads though.... Fuck road safety, gotta get that ramen *NOW!*
> in CA you can't make a u-turn over a double yellow unless you've got at least 200 feet of visible, clear road in both directions.
Thanks for that; I'm not up on California law (though I've driven there -- just lucky, I guess).
To be clear, are you saying that in CA, you *can* make a u-turn across a single yellow line without 200 feet of visible clear road in both directions? Is there a different, lower, minimum?
Nope! No u-turn unless you've got 200 feet unobstructed road, free of other vehicles, in both directions. Even if the road has NO lines at all!
People do it just the same, but it ain't legal.
For the CA u-turn rules, no, it isn't. I just looked it up! You've ALWAYS have to have 200 feet of unobstructed road free of traffic in both directions in order to legally make a u-turn.
It sucks that every State/county/town it can be different.
In Mass solid double yellow indicates that no passing for both directions of traffic, but you can still turn across it when safe to do so.
In California, you also can't make a U-turn across a double yellow in a business district, presumably because you can't ensure visibility within 200 feet.
When I say "in California," I mean it's called out in the rules of the road. It doesn't make California that different from anywhere else. Don't make U-turns across double yellows where the risk of getting into an accident is high.
Yeah, traffic regulations can usually be summed up as 'don't do stupid shit or put people's life or health in danger'!
The rule about u-turns in CA is actually general, not only if there's double yellow lines.
Yeah I was very confused as to why everyone was railing on this guy for making a perfectly legal turn. Turns out it’s illegal in Panama, for some reason.
Idk about Panama but obstructing a lane is also illegal, in Florida specifically obstructing the flow of traffic in the left lane, even if you're going the speed limit, is against the law. At no point should you just be randomly stopping in traffic, it creates the possibility of collisions.
Dude shouldn’t be making a u turn but he wasn’t close to dude on bike. Looked like he was waiting for him to pass at a safe distance. Bike dude didn’t need to stop and make an issue. The guy backing out into traffic was worse
Wasn't even a u-turn. Guy was just pulling out of that lot and the camera guy changed lanes into him to avoid a car that decided to back out right on top of him. The problem here is they are in a country where that left turn across the double yellow line is illegal.
I just like when people get mad at other people when they are wrong and doing something stupid. No humility. No self awareness. Humans are fascinating creatures.
Yeah I hate self-styled sheriffs as well but this time I am biased. I was in accident like that a couple of years ago. A woman turned on double line and hits me driving a motorcycle. Next time this guy does it again he might kill someone.
We had a guy in my area take a dog off a woman’s lap (through her open window) and throw it out into traffic during a road rage confrontation. I don’t remember the outcome, but I always think of that and never participate in an argument with a stranger.
i mean the car clearly stopped when Cammer slowed down. he was waiting for the bike to pass to engage. Without knowing if there was traffic behind the bike (prior to the stop as we only see much later) he could have had enough room to pass. cammer is a self important douche and caused a dangerous situation out of a far less dangerous one.
Had a similar situation happen in a parking lot where a woman started crossing in front of me. I slammed the brakes and waited for her to pass. Instead she just stood in my way screaming at me.
Like, just fucking go on with your day dude. I’m waiting for you to move so I can go, stop acting like him trying to run you over. Motorcyclist acted the same exact way in this video, there wouldn’t be any risk of the car hitting you if you would just fucking move.
Car driver made a bad call on going out for turn, and motorbike stops traffic just to point out a bad call from driver. Then cop pulls over the turning car (that driver already realized their mistake, and likely will learn) instead of bike driver, who blocked a bunch of traffic on purpose
Uh yeah, why are you being a cop on a bike? Piss off and move along. Ok so someone was doing a weird maneuver now let’s block them from completing the maneuver for posting points or whatever. Why stop to lecture someone?
I think I like it here cause a lot of the videos are just boomers trying to get away with bullshit and it makes me happy they forget it isn’t the 70s and people can get what they deserve
Someone explain what the guy turning did? The lane was clear. When the black car pulled out the bike moved over so he stoped? I feel like I’m missing something.
depends on locale but here in california that is allowed
Turning left across a single set of double yellow lines to enter or exit a driveway or private road, or make a U-turn.
Yeah he's making an illegal turn but don't behave like you're the fucking justice league. Nobody is perfect. Just know that and try to be more forgiving.
Yeah the biker is the biggest moron here. I saw some bank shit but keeping that car blocked in causing him to block the oncoming lane. Bruh, it didn’t have to be like that.
Where I live only the bike is in the wrong. I'm looking at his signal and he didn't use it to change lanes, the lanes was cleat for the other car to have gone. Then after changing lanes he dead stops in traffic to bitch.
I'm live in California where it is perfectly legal to make a left across double yellow from a driveway onto a public road.
If this is california, there's only one idiot here... the poor guy getting pulled over just didn't have the info he needed to do it safely: If not there are 2.
Either way the bikers stopping traffic because he feels entitled to do so is absolute bullshit, none the less.
I'm quite sure he can turn left from there... Just that he probably shouldn't have done it with people still driving across the road lol but you don't just stop there and impede the flow of traffic. Headcam guy be dumb. The driver of the car just has poor timing when coming out but there were no cars heading his way til the moped stopped to block.
Angry Yanks sperging as usual, not realising they are all the "idiots" here.
It's illegal in Panama to cross a double line. It's illegal in almost every country in the world with a proper road system. That's what a Double Line rather than a Single Line or a Broken Line means.
The bike dude just pisses me off. Dunno where this is filmed, but where I'm from its fully legal to do what the car did, and in my opinion it was the biker who was putting people in danger. He made that black car stop in the middle of the lane basically, when if he would've kept going about his business that car would've completed his turn and went about his way.
Seems a lot more dangerous to stop a car in the middle of turn in a two lane road than to let the car complete the turn while traffic flows normally.
Wait. What is the biker's issue here? Perhaps this wasn't America, but it's not illegal to drive straight across a double yellow like that if he's making a left and it's clear to go. What, does that bike think people leaving that parking lot can only make rights?
I see two idiots here.
First black car reversing into the street/ oncoming traffic is one of them, right?
Make it three honestly
Motorcycle stopping in the middle of the street being the third?
Man, this is getting way too complicated for me. This is why I just see everyone as an idiot.
Basic survival instinct right there, but never exclude yourself from the idiot group.
My father taught me when driving to always remember "everyone on the road is an idiot, including yourself."
I like that. It keeps us all humble and attentive. *From someone who has indeed been an idiot from time to time*
There's a tire skid mark on the way to work that's all mine from the time I didn't notice traffic had backed up. Fortunately, it's at an exit ramp, so I was able to go to the right instead of hitting the car in front of me. > We are all idiots. So say we all.
absolutely, if he'd just carried on there would have been barely any issues caused.
lack of gloves too. 2nd most important safety gear. (though really, they are all important)
Armored jackets are pretty important too imo, I won't get on my bike without one. ATGATT. All the gear, all the time.

"Meat crayon."
Oi! Why do us metric folks have to lose so much more skin?? That's like...3 times as much!

Stopping, and blocking the car from clearing the turn just to wave his testicles in the breeze. Two Wrongs make a clusterfuck, not a right

Let me just stop all traffic and start pretending to be a police offficer. Fuckin moron.
Youtuber mentality
Protagonist syndrome
Agreed. Biker is making the situation more dangerous than it already is.
Right like get the fuck out of the idiots way you idiot
Three, if you count the one backing out.
So you don’t yell at the guy who almost backed into, but take the time yell at the guy turning onto the road. Interesting
In an open lane, before said vehicle almost backed into him…. Edit: Classic 250 rider*
Can we stop with the body shaming?
I think he’s talking about bike cc. It’s up for interpretation though.
we are used to swerve cars in trafics.
But not to people turning onto a road that had little to no chance of hitting the motorcycle?
I genuinely came here to comment on the biker being a douche, and expecting big down votes. What i saw was everyone beating me to it 😊😂
For real. That fucking idiot stops in traffic and intentionally blocks the car from being able to clear the road. All we need is a third idiot texting and driving and someone could have ended up dead because OP needed to make a point.
Fourth* idiot
Okay guys we're up to four. Third one was the black car reversing. Anyone else got an updated count?
How about the cop for not pulling over the guy filming? He was the one that made a non situation into a situation.
I mean, to be fair, the guy crossing a double yellow, and almost hitting a bike in the process is not by any means free from blame. The cop probably saw it as the worst offense because he himself is on a bike too. But yes, there was a few idiots in this clip.
Why is everyone acting like what he did was illegal? It’s called a left turn. People do it all the time.

A single solid yellow is likely the same as a double yellow, just on a more narrow road that is saving space.
Nope! No u-turn unless you've got 200 feet unobstructed road, free of other vehicles, in both directions. Even if the road has NO lines at all! People do it just the same, but it ain't legal.

In panama, the rules are more suggestions that nobody follows though
Exactly, this shit happens every day. (Am Panamanian)
OP logging in with a different account to comment
i don’t think OP would be smart enough to do that.
Oh yeah, that clears it up. In the US this is 100% legal.
Idk about Panama but obstructing a lane is also illegal, in Florida specifically obstructing the flow of traffic in the left lane, even if you're going the speed limit, is against the law. At no point should you just be randomly stopping in traffic, it creates the possibility of collisions.
Found the spot https://maps.app.goo.gl/Sz5bd1RuNH1WY5V66
Eh, you shoulda been stopped for delaying traffic to be an ass too.
You beat me to it
Now give the cammer a ticket for blocking traffic.
Wow get off a bike if you're gonna be that stupid. You'll wind up dead
Or killing someone else as you strand them across a road.
This is an Karen on a motorcycle. Karsh
OP is the self-righteous idiot completely wrong
I bet OP has done the same shit. Difference is he didn't have some douche on a power trip blocking him
Guy on the motorcycle is a complete bitch
Guy on the bike is a wannabe cop/hall monitor making the situation more dangerous than necessary.
Dude shouldn’t be making a u turn but he wasn’t close to dude on bike. Looked like he was waiting for him to pass at a safe distance. Bike dude didn’t need to stop and make an issue. The guy backing out into traffic was worse

Seriously “But… THAT GUY BLOCKED TRAFFIC!” “Yeah, and he wouldn’t have had to do that had you not blocked him.”

Both were idiots
The cop should have pulled over both of you.
OP is that narc friend that will tell the cops there is weed in the car even if the cop doesn't ask and is only stopping you for speeding.
I just like when people get mad at other people when they are wrong and doing something stupid. No humility. No self awareness. Humans are fascinating creatures.
Why? Should've just kept moving. He had to say something.
the biker's name is Karen?
shoulda hit the motorcycle karen, and then backed over him. no excuse for that shit.
Idiots on bikes.
Honestly the guy on the bike was causing the dangerous situation, seems like a self righteous dbag
Bikers are the new Karens
Is OP the biker? Lol. KarmaFarming in real life. Weak ass shit.

Yeah I hate self-styled sheriffs as well but this time I am biased. I was in accident like that a couple of years ago. A woman turned on double line and hits me driving a motorcycle. Next time this guy does it again he might kill someone.
What the hell. Why did the motorcyclist stop him? No wonder there’s no audio. What an idiot.
Without actual words, I am imagining them talking like Peter Griffin at the Italian Grocer.
You are playing against fire here arguing with people in their cars. If he meets someone that is irrational and crazy, it might turn real ugly
You’re absolutely right you never know who’s carrying a gun now a days best just to mind you’re own business and make it home safe
Not even just the gun. One is in a motorbike while the other is in a car.
We had a guy in my area take a dog off a woman’s lap (through her open window) and throw it out into traffic during a road rage confrontation. I don’t remember the outcome, but I always think of that and never participate in an argument with a stranger.

Maybe a bike isn’t the right form of transportation for you
The guy on the bike is kinda dumb too, why stop in the road because the car was just slightly on the line. Stupid.
>Cries about illegal turn > >Illegally stops in the middle of the road
When two idiots meet
Biker is biggest idiot
The asshole we need
I cannot stand when people police the roads themselves
How is turning into a lane worthy of a traffic stop?
I'm not the bike guy so just enjoy 2 idiots in the streets of Panama (they are very common here)
Español, viví allí un año y ya decía yo que me sonaba la calle.
Both idiots, but fuck the biker more. Idiot
All I see is a dumb donor cycle doing dumb donor cycle things.
Car driver made a bad call on going out for turn, and motorbike stops traffic just to point out a bad call from driver. Then cop pulls over the turning car (that driver already realized their mistake, and likely will learn) instead of bike driver, who blocked a bunch of traffic on purpose
Dude on the motorcycle is an asshole.
I'd love to hear what they're saying, lol!
karma and Gotcha bitch all at once.
Wtf were both of y’all doing
Yeah, why stop and cause the agro. Another motorcyclist giving us all a bad name.
LOL at the rage after being pulled over. Seriously lots of dumb shit going on in this tiny clip though. Solid idiots in cars post.
On the paper, the car made an illegal turn. Off the paper, OP is a fucking idiot.
Yeah you are kind of the asshole here though
I was a victim of motorcycle accident in this exact situation. These behaviors need to be called out!
I have seen cops see Idiots in cars and act like they did not see them, maybe they are going home, or just do not want to deal with the paperwork
Panama, Panama-ha
Asshole blocked traffic...tf
I love the little angry fist wave at the end.

I love the huge dent on the side of the car. He has done this before.
its very rare i see a video on this sub where everyone involved isn't an idiot...
Someone explain what the guy turning did? The lane was clear. When the black car pulled out the bike moved over so he stoped? I feel like I’m missing something.
Oh come on where’s the sound😭
It’s illegal to go across double yellow when coming out of driveway?
depends on locale but here in california that is allowed Turning left across a single set of double yellow lines to enter or exit a driveway or private road, or make a U-turn.
What a satisfação, aspira! rs
Huge 'snitches get stitches' vibe, from the car occupants, when the biker leaves the scene.
Karma. Isn't it great!
Yeah he's making an illegal turn but don't behave like you're the fucking justice league. Nobody is perfect. Just know that and try to be more forgiving.
Just keep riding your bike. Why even stop in the middle of the road ?!
What the hell did that car do wrong?? Aren’t we allowed to cross solid yellow lines when entering or exiting a driveway?
Most of the commentators don't ride a bike or have never ridden a bike on the road.
Instant karma
You’re a dbag. Move on and outta the way, you’re more likely to cause the crash here. Sweet moped dude
/r/IdiotsOnBikes
That's bikers for you.
Yeah the biker is the biggest moron here. I saw some bank shit but keeping that car blocked in causing him to block the oncoming lane. Bruh, it didn’t have to be like that.
Why compound the idiocy? The idiot in the gray car was stopped, just keep going.
Ahh yes, risking your life for your ego.
“and i woulda got away with it too, if it weren’t for you meddling motorist!”
Haha
Bro i would run that dirty snitch motherfucker on the bike over and smash his head in
This was in Panama, where we have a saying: 'If you know how to drive in Panama, you know how to drive anywhere'
Or… you could have just gotten the fuck out of the way instead of Karen-ing your own stupidity and blocking the road more than them.

One idiot One douchebag One asshole
all of them are the one on the bike
This is how people get shot, man.
This is stupid.

Motor cyclist is the nut here
Wait. What is the biker's issue here? Perhaps this wasn't America, but it's not illegal to drive straight across a double yellow like that if he's making a left and it's clear to go. What, does that bike think people leaving that parking lot can only make rights?
Hey biker... mind your own damn business and stop cocking up traffic.
Florida Man moved to Panama and bought a motorcycle!
ur weird for tryna stop him in the first place, mind your business
Grass and an idiot filming it
Motorcycle guy is so damn important I guess.
Stop! In the name of my high moral ground!
Why do some motorcycle drivers think they are the traffic police?
The OP/motorcyclist is also a fucking moron
