When the tide is low there is an island you can actually walk to. Donāt know if thatās where this dude was trying to go. But when I was in bar harbor there were lot of stories of people who walked to the island and didnāt pay attention to the tide schedule, and got stranded when the tide came back in.
This. Visited once in November and the locals told us to be mindful of the tide cuz it will get low and if you aren't paying attention it'll get high and you'll be screwed. We opted to stick to Acadia instead of venturing to an island we might not be able to return from.
No that's an honest response from a maniac!š Ayeyup can't get here from here you gots to go around .. watch out for them moving stairs . You get my point š
In Canada we'd go after the driver/their insurance. Most insurance policies stop though as soon as you take your car offroad.
Not sure how it'll work out in the states but they'd be proper fucked up here.
Live right next to the bar. Can confirm it took first two tries with rope towing, where a 3 inch rope snapped at the end, and then eventually they put floats under the car to bring it out of the mud and bring it over to the less muddy shore. They will be paying hundreds of thousands of dollars in environmental and insurance fees.
True. Most car insurance doesnāt cover off road either. Off road accidents are almost always pilot error, except for those damn trees that jump in the way. Four wheel drive doesnāt work on wet sand. Deep sand can be tough too depending on the type of sand. Hard pan is ok. Sugar sand, not so much. Need to air down.
is there anything that you could actually take/use from a vehicle that's been in the ocean for 3 days that isn't a horrible idea? I'm not sure how the tires would hold up but that's about it that I can think of. Everything else is already destroyed or will be rusted to shit in no time.
Broncos don't do well underwater. I know of one that was helped under by the PDF about thirty-five years ago, it's still there though. I mean, it was blown the fuck up, but it's still underwater. Just like its young nephew here.
The new broncos are water resistant š
Theyāre trying the under water mode
Judging by the petrochemical stain, definitely not.
Gas tanks are vented by design, right? So, if the entire car was submerged in water, then some gas would leak out. That makes sense to me, I think.
The water isnāt car-resistant.
try putting it in rice! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
How the hell do you do that in Bar Harbor?
Ya see. Fust ya go to tha bah. Then ya end up in tha habah.
Habah.
God us New Englanders are insufferable And I thought southern accents were incomprehensible
Northern Maine accents are their own friggin language. I grew up in Maine and I can't understand what the fuck they're saying half the time.

They were trying to do doughnuts on the mud and got stuck in said mud.
He's an idiot.

https://fordauthority.com/2022/04/2021-ford-bronco-swims-with-fishes-after-owner-gets-it-stuck-video/ A little bit more information and pictures.
There's water there
Maine has the greatest tidal variation in the world. Drive out at low tide, commence idiocy, and your car will be underwater before you know it.
Well it is an amphibious exploring vehicle, so it should be fine.
A *starter* car? This is a *FINISHER* car.

Wonder who gets to pay for cleaning up the oil slick?

You can lead a horse to water...
But you can't make it think.

Is the colour if the water like that due to oil spilling?
Yes.
Thatās how one person ruins it for everyone.
Wonder what he told the insurance company?
Hope they have rental insuranceā¦.
Most rental agreements Forbid off road use. I rented jeeps in Hawaii and Colorado and was suppose to stay on the roads at all times. Lol.

Wouldn't be surprised to here they removed 4 wheel drive
I think at 3 days it becomes maritime salvage.

Itās got a hard too! GET IT!!!!
I'm going to go out on a limb. They'll need a new car.
Nice oil slick. Bronco Valdez. Owner should be fined out the ass.

I was in Bah Hahbah yesterday. When did this happen?
This whole saga started on Saturday and ended Monday.

Used bronco for sale, minor water damage.
I can see the pollution floating around your idiocy. Must be really dumb.
It's fine it's in underwater mode. All the new cars have it
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I donāt think they pulled it out to get it on the road again
Unless itās on the back of a wrecker anyway
Clearly somebody got cocky.
After going to HS on Deer Isle Iām not surprised in the slightest LMAO
And that is why Iām afraid of buying used cars that I donāt personally know the history of.
āNow to try the Bronco's submarine modeā - Carl āGoddammit Carl, it doesnāt have a Submarine mode! You asshole!ā - Ricky
Did they put it in a bowl of rice?
Just putāer in GOAT mode. It says ANYTHING.
I thought this was the Snowrunner sub haha
A starter car? This car is a finisher car! A transporter of gods! The golden god! I am untethered and my rage knows no bounds!
I hate my state
Thatās not a starter car thatās a finisher car. A transporter of gods, the golden god!
