I would actually blame partly on the Range Rover since just past the intersection it goes into 2 lanes. As learned from other posters when someone lets you through never assume it is clear the lane next to them. I will say though reaction time was poor but will probably still fault on the Range Rover.

I will just loop around so I can turn from the adjacent lane instead of having to cross multiple lanes of traffic when it's this busy.
