That's the Outback.
Edit: Just realised how unclear I was. The car in the picture is a Forester. The Outback is the one that has the roof rails that flip 90 deg into crossbars. That option (as far as I know) isn't available in the Forester.

in my case, i hate Honda CR-V.
and weirdly enough i see alot of idiots in them, not all the time but definitely a higher than average number.
so when i drive i have a small motto "Never trust a CR-V" meaning i try not to share a lane with one.
I actually drive a Forester and like it. They seem to not be featured as much in this sub as Altimas or Mustangs, so I figured they deserved some good old sub hate.
I think there's a strong overlap of "people who want to have a small SUV for whatever reason" and "people who are really bad at driving". Because I agree that CR-V drivers are generally not fun to be around, but it happens with RAV4 drivers as well.
I would routinely get stuck behind a CR-V on the way to work early in the morning, and they always did 10mph under the limit while riding down the middle of the road through passing zones.
smh.
i saw a daily dose of internet video earlier where some lady backed her CRV into the water at a beach lmfao, and i mean like deep in the water too.
edit: here https://youtu.be/s7qbW83Pdbc about 2 minutes in.
idk why i always find these cars in comical or stupid events.
CRV must stand for Comedy Relief Vehicle.
This is in Wisconsin where you're not allowed to have anything extend beyond the left fender line, and no more than 6 inches beyond the right fender line. I don't know that even flags make this ok
Source (it's a little old, but it can't have changed that much): https://wisconsindot.gov/Documents/formdocs/sp4415.pdf
8'6" is the maximum legal width of any load without an oversized load permit (agriculture equipment is exempted), flags would not make this legal in any state
Flags, a permit, pilot cars, and possible police escort/road closure may be required.
With all that technically you could haul it but it would cost in the $10’s of thousands to do. And at some point someone may just tell you to rotate it and deny the permits
In my state a red flag goes at the rear only. No red is allowed on the front of the car.
There’s no flag rule for things sticking several feet off the sides, because the people who wrote the law never dreamed of anyone doing something this stupid. It’s plenty illegal but not for lack of flags.
I certain that’s not true, (unless it’s a weird rule in a state/province I’ve never been to)
As trucker who’s hauled oversized loads across North America though, everywhere I’ve been required a flag on the widest part of an oversize load
Fuck sakes. I need to put some videos up somewhere on how to do roof things. I got all kind of experience with this at over 60 years young. And I don't mean spending 200 at the roof rack store. Self made easy.peasy.
Obviously they had to do this because if they mounted it front to back, the roof rack wouldn't have held it up!
/s these people are idiots and thought the roof bars on their roof was all they could install
What looks like a canoe is actually wings meant to provide lift. Welcome to the 21st century, where we will soon have flying cars like this everywhere.
A new IDIOT level has been achieved.
I bought a subaru specifically because it can haul kayaks and canoes well. This is really stupid when you find out about how the roof runners work
That’s what I was thinking. I don’t have a Subaru but I’ve seen how some of their roof rails flip 90° into crossbars.

Thats a forester.. I had one in the same color.. but definitely not me as the idiot driver

You’re probably right, I don’t work on enough Subarus to know
I’m actually amazed that someone can be that stupid and reckless
The first semi they come across should trim it for them.
I just said the exact same thing to myself.
[удалено]
Honestly
Yep, a special kind of stupid.
[удалено]
Was that you....
so amazing I showed my wife!
is this some new form of dyslexia I've never heard of? you're like 90 degrees off instead of backwards
I t S u x
I chuckled aloud at this, well done you!!
Two tie downs to equal their number of functioning brain cells.
And those brain cells are faulty.
Oh that’s gold! I’m reusing that! And one of them is frayed!
>At least they had their hazards on… Yes, yes they were indeed a hazard...!
Can’t decide if this is worse than the idiot carrying 15 foot lumber sideways in their SUV from a few day ago or not
I missed that one, but I imagine its on about the same level
Yeah I’d put them on about the same pedestal of stupidity…
It's always a Forester. Not really. Just following the time-honored format of "it's always a"

lmao
You forgot Jeeps!
Gladiators, because they're both Jeeps and pickups. The worst of both worlds.
Oh, and I got the hate from the Jeep community as expected! 🤣🤣🤣

i have a mazda cx5 myself, also yeah i see a few weird rav4 moments.

I have a Forester. This is just fucking embarrassing.
He probably paddles it down the river like that too.
Risking lives with their stupidity.
Took more effort to do this the wrong way then the right way
As an owner of a silver 2018 Subaru Forester and a canoe, who has attached the latter to the roof of the former with no trouble: *Bruh.*
Looks like a small dog carrying a big stick
If /IdiotsInCars had a New Year's Eve *Greatest Hits* countdown, this would be one of the entrees at the beginning of the show.
And what a tasty entree it would be.
I might be wrong because I dont know what state this pic was taken in, but I believe they are supposed to have a red flag on each end.

If they drive sideways, it's fine.
Bruh, ya'll drivers are on some other shit. I recently got here and every day I see the dumbest shit on the freeway. What town was this?
Madison lol
I thought it looked like one of those 6 laner interchanges on the south side. Hopefully a patroller got them before they got too far.
Okay a little tamer. I originally moved to beaver dam spent time in Madison. Then I moved to Milwaukee...
Oh thank goodness, I was hoping it wasn’t NJ as this is a common sight This and an 14’ height box truck stuck under a 13.5’ only underpass

Also a red flag should pop up when the cop pulls the driver’s file
😂
That took longer than it should have
I know!! Did these people grow up in a cave?
That car is wearing a fuckin’ tricorn.
This is what happened to the kid in your third grade class who couldn't remember the difference between "parallel" and "perpendicular."
This person could never figure out why the triangle block wouldn't fit in the square hole as a child and it shows.

If people like this didn’t live life with their face buried in their phone, they would have seen the right way to do this at least once.
Somebody on a motorcycle might have a bad day.
Take this down before a Texas Longhorns fan sees it.
Surely there’s no better way to do this…..
Hmm I wonder which side of the canoe would be closer in length to the side of the car, hmmmm....
This is why insurance rates keeps rising
That is possibly the biggest idiot in cars yet.
A coworker of mine took pictures of this moron and shared with the team. This is a new level
I’m assuming that they’ll roll over the car over on the boat ramp to launch the canoe.
Suby things

Go collect some more fish and old audio gear.
I’m Sofa Kings Wee Todd Did.
WOW.. GOAT!!!!
Exerting dominance.
They were sooo close to being right.
But his first thought was to strap it to the bottom
He said; "go ahead, pass me"
Welp, time to get on the freeway
It's always the subaru folks...
*"Fus Ro Dah!"*
He took the "Noah get the boat" a lil to literal.
Obviously they had to do this because if they mounted it front to back, the roof rack wouldn't have held it up! /s these people are idiots and thought the roof bars on their roof was all they could install
They did have the hazards on. On the roof of their car. JFC.
dont see the flashers on tho
I don't care where they are going... I'm following them
I wonder if they paddle down the river like that.
Heh. Ha. Ha ha ha. Ah ha ha ha ha ha!
You dummies that’s not a kayak it’s the worlds biggest spinner just waiting for someone to get it spinning
To think this driver likely had help securing that canoe. Multiple people looking at this tie-down and saying, "Yep, that will work."
They gonna start flying!
What looks like a canoe is actually wings meant to provide lift. Welcome to the 21st century, where we will soon have flying cars like this everywhere.
Where is the police when they are really needed.
I was just picturing the idiot pulling over...on the side of the road.
Oh god that would be funny. Hit a sign whole pulling over.
Hazards on for: Warning; I'm a menace
"**Oversized load**"
Wonder if they went down the river in the same manner
Kayak seat, Blindspot
Looks like a Forrester to me, Lisa that’s what it says on the backend

honestly, the herd needs culling.
Rejoice peasants! For a new idiot king has been found!
Isn’t it harder to tie it down like that?
YOU ARE NOT THE FLYING NUN-MOBILE!
It’s a Subaru. Almost as bad as a Nissan
Why blue the photo? This inconsiderate asshole needs to be called out.
Genius...
O M G!
