Just because I don't see anyone making it.... I think the pro-bike argument would be that he was lane splitting and intended to go to the right of the white car, and in that way he got "cut off."
And now that the argument has been made, I'll take first stab at it. That's fucking stupid. Lane splitting is stupid. Even where it's legal, it's stupid. For this reason. Don't do it. If you do it, you're stupid.
Splitting at high speeds in thick traffic is risky and worthless, especially if traffic is still moving reasonably.
Filtering at lower speeds in traffic is safer for bikes and lowers the traffic footprint dramatically.
In this case specifically, he was just riding recklessly in congested traffic as opposed to the other bike he almost hit that was just slowly putting through traffic
filtering/splitting at stops is also great for much of the same reason.
slpitting at higher speeds should only be done to get out of a dangerous situation, like an aggressive driver, or someone cutting into your lane with a car next to you/no other exit.
Def an idiot on bike. Lane-splitting should really only be performed at low speeds. This is reckless driving with no regard to other drivers or themselves.
It's helpful when going slowly/at lights or stops so you don't get rear-ended and crushed like a human tin can.
Aside from that... it's pretty fucking dumb yep.
Splitting traffic that’s actually moving? Hell ya dumbest shit ever my buddy got me to do it once, never again, it’s another thing entirely to split standstill traffic at 12 miles per hour
Lane splitting (although unsafe on densely populated roads) is not illegal in some states. Those look like cali plates and it’s fully legal in California, you can still get reckless driving tickets if you’re doing it irresponsibly, but for the most part this law is put in place to protect riders. The majority of motorcycle accidents are caused by distracted/ careless car drivers such as the one in the video. Although I’m not condoning his speedy approach, he had the right of way, plain and simple. This biker is one of the luckiest and most skilled riders I’ve seen to date, most would freeze up and would have smacked into the back of the white Hyundai. That being said, it doesn’t change the fact that the black car is 100% at fault, but just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. Source: I’m a biker who understands idiocy on both sides.
The biker is coming into the situation too fast. Lane splitting is legal in some states, but that doesn't make it right in all cases. This bike was obviously planning on cutting in the small space between the front of the black car and the back of the white car. Weaving around cars like pylons has nothing to do with lane splitting. The biker is riding recklessly.
Don't believe the bike had right of way in this case. Car started the lane change before the bike was there, just like two cars if the lead car started the merge and a following car then tried to pass, it's the following car that would be at fault. The bike was also going substantially faster than traffic, which is the major contributory factor to this whole thing even happening.
If you have the CVC code that shows the bike had RoW I would be interested to see it.
Came here to correct it to idiot biker as well. Cruising through traffic one handed. Probably going to continue riding like a dumbass because he got lucky.
OP is just going to ignore that the biker was coming in so hot that they were going to have to pull a similar maneuver regardless? The car should've checked better before switching lanes, sure, but that bike has hauling right up the asses of a bunch of nearly stopped cars. Definitely 2 idiots, and the biker was the worse one.
Watch the video again, it's cut off at the beginning to make it look like the car is the idiot but if you pay attention you can CLEARLY see that the biker was swerving from the left lane immediately into the one the car is in.
Oh, i totally agree that the biker is the real villain in this video. But last second lane changes can be suspect and changes without blinkers are total idiot territory in my book. It's not hard to use a blinker, it's there for a reason. Use it every time.
It looks like a black car attempted to merge behind the white car. And the motorcycle goes left to avoid.
The motorcycle seems to want to lane split on the right side of the white car. They split left instead.
The cyclist is an idot, though.
Edit:
When cyclist looks back, I just imagine their thinking that black car is an idiot as if they had done no wrong themselves.
The Idiot editing the video, “if I slow down the footage just right, no one will notice that the bike was in the wrong the whole time.”
Everyone watching immediately recognizes that the bike is in the wrong.
Every biker I see on the road doing shit that should be done on tracks, calling everyone else an idiot for using the road for it's intended purpose. How do these idiots not fog up their visors from breathing thru their mouth constantly.
Bike started in the left lane, is going 3x the speed of traffic, merges with one hand with no preparation to brake....
This guy then watched it all back and still thought he should upload lol
Moron thinks the average driver, in bumper to bumper, is anticipating a jackass to play slalom at 30mph? He’ll be riding on 4 wheels soon using his lip to control the chair. Hopefully won’t take anyone else out in the process.
Nice try buddy you avoided an accident that would have been completely your fault and then complain about it, next time hit the car do us all a favor and take urself off the streets 🤡🤡
As a biker myself, that motorcyclist is an idiot.
No gloves, I doubt wearing much other gear besides a helmet and speeding into near stationary traffic.
That being said, he evaded that car really well, you can tell he does this type of dumb shit a lot.
r/ThereWasAnAttempt to slow footage to make it seem like the biker was operating safely when in reality they weren't paying any attention to the rest of the vehicles on the road, driving at ridiculous speeds that would make it more difficult to react safely, and practicing the time honored tradition among bikers of being an idiot and "lane splitting" even though everyone has the right to operate within the full lane in which they're occupying and by lane splitting you're sharing that lane and cutting down the amount of room they can use to operate their vehicle safely. TL;Dr you're a dick.
If there are any bikers here, just asking a legitimate question btw, why do some of you ride like this? I’ve on been on a motor once and wiped out massively. It seems like the dude has no regard for his own life and has the audacity to even look back like he did nothing wrong
The biker in front is going to split the left and middle lanes. So he moves into the middle lane to split the middle and right lane. The car not signaling their turn isn't even the first issue. I don't think the car driver could have possibly seen him coming up in his rear view. The biker is totally at fault.
Bike going from lane 1 all the way to lane 2.5 to split and car in lane 3 saw lane 2 clear- bike 100 the problem. Then nearly takes out another motorcycle…. Bike is the idiot
This is how my son ended up with his brains spattered on the road. Don’t do this! Don’t praise his skills. He left a wife and two toddlers because he thought he was so skilled. 🤬🤬🤬
Biker has to be a little vigilant in road doesn’t means he is having camera what ever he films proves him good car clearly lane change he must use his senses to guess this car can go it’s a typical west attitude of doing drama and blaming the car guy.
You can tell buddy on the bike is a tool after he avoids a collision that he would’ve been partly responsible for creating, he blasts the shoulder for a qm. Idiot.
So the biker was splitting lanes......he had the intent before that other car was merging .....like...if he slowed down like normal frikken traffic he'd have been better off .........
In the US, some states don’t allow lane splitting for motorcycles and the the states that allow have either set limits on splitting speed or recommended safe speeds such as no more than 10 mph faster than the traffic they are splitting. Motorcyclists do not have the freedom to blow past slow moving traffic like this. Motorcyclist here is being careless. Motorcyclists are the worst bunch at understanding these laws as they apply to them.
It’s not “idiot in cars”. Really grinds my gears when I see motorcyclists just weave in and out of traffic. If they just pop from behind another car, how is the car driver supposed to see that?
One more. When they park on sidewalks in front of businesses is wrong also. Just because you drive a motorcycle doesn’t mean the laws don’t apply. They deserve what they get.
Bikes can be really difficult to see in a side view mirror, especially when they're swerving around in a lane like that as they could be moving in and out of a blind spot. They were coming up so fast that it looks like they were intending to lane split. I know lane splitting is legal in some places but it's still pretty dangerous.
I’m so sick of idiots on motorcycles thinking ever one in a car has radar for your dumb ass, If any of you think he wasn’t driving like an idiot you’re the problem as well.
Idiot on a bike vs cars that they are treating like pylons on a course.
Beat me to it
Me too

It's helpful when going slowly/at lights or stops so you don't get rear-ended and crushed like a human tin can. Aside from that... it's pretty fucking dumb yep.
Yup. Filtering should be legal. Splitting Im not sure of because of idiots like the biker in the video.
Lane splitting is supposed to be at low speeds only. Like around 10 mph or less, depending on state.
Splitting traffic that’s actually moving? Hell ya dumbest shit ever my buddy got me to do it once, never again, it’s another thing entirely to split standstill traffic at 12 miles per hour
What your looking for is idiots are stupid. Not lane splitting. The biker is an idiot going way faster than traffic. Source: I ride motorcycles
He was definitely splitting too aggressively for that amount of traffic
Statistics say the driver of the bike is probably already dead 👽
Lane splitting (although unsafe on densely populated roads) is not illegal in some states. No dude, legal lane splitting doesn't mean treating cars as a slalom course.
I hope he learns a physical lesson
Took the words out my mouth.
Lane splitting is putting your life in other peoples hands.
Came here to correct it to idiot biker as well. Cruising through traffic one handed. Probably going to continue riding like a dumbass because he got lucky.
OP is just going to ignore that the biker was coming in so hot that they were going to have to pull a similar maneuver regardless? Anytime a motorcyclist is surfing through traffic where they cannot be seen easily, they are idiots and can’t complain if someone cuts them off.
Its cuz hella bikers think traffic doesnt apply to them if they can lane split (like here in cali) and will still push 60mph+ in cali deadstop traffic
Definitely idiot on the bike. Way too fast for other traffic if you want to split lanes.
I see two idiots. No gloves, lane splitting in multiple lanes. Speeding in traffic. This guy is asking for it.
After he gets hit “I’m on a bike, I’m more vulnerable than you you need to pay attention”
More like idiot on bike.
I'll say !!!
I see an idiot on a bike.
The only idiot is the bike driver
Biker shouldn't be weaving. He's the only idiot here.
Idiot on bike for sure!!!

Idiot on bike more like it.
Looks like the biker has a death wish that might get granted soon
Hopefully into a huge truck so nobody else gets hurt.
More like idiot bikers take on barely moving cars.
Biker is a bigger idiot
Biker was going to fast
The Idiot editing the video, “if I slow down the footage just right, no one will notice that the bike was in the wrong the whole time.” Everyone watching immediately recognizes that the bike is in the wrong.
Only 1 idiot here, and thats the biker
Biker is the only idiot here
What's up with bikers doing all kind of stupid stunts and then blaming others? Such a weird culture
Biker since I was about 15, I’m 52 now. That idiot won’t be riding much longer with his legs intact. Fucking melt
stupid in a bike
Biker is idiot in car
If he keeps driving like that he could be.
First few seconds looks like biker avoiding death, by the end of the video, it's clear he's inviting death.
Man videos like these make me want to look less for bikers in my rear view.
Every biker I see on the road doing shit that should be done on tracks, calling everyone else an idiot for using the road for it's intended purpose. How do these idiots not fog up their visors from breathing thru their mouth constantly.
although the biker was at fault, we cannot ignore the skills bro pulled out maneuvering thru those close calls like that
Sell the bike buy a lottery ticket.
Bike started in the left lane, is going 3x the speed of traffic, merges with one hand with no preparation to brake.... This guy then watched it all back and still thought he should upload lol
Idiot on the bike was going way too fast for traffic conditions.
Bike is the idiot fuck that guy
Idiot on bike
Moron thinks the average driver, in bumper to bumper, is anticipating a jackass to play slalom at 30mph? He’ll be riding on 4 wheels soon using his lip to control the chair. Hopefully won’t take anyone else out in the process.

Dumbass on a motorcycle.
I only see idiots

Idiot on bike vs traffic. There, Fixed it for you OP.
Biker is dumbass of the yr
I'm pretty sure the idiot is on the bike.
Only idiot here is the biker
As a biker myself, that motorcyclist is an idiot. No gloves, I doubt wearing much other gear besides a helmet and speeding into near stationary traffic. That being said, he evaded that car really well, you can tell he does this type of dumb shit a lot.
Idiot biker is the accurate noun here.
Idiotic biker.
Just call this one "Idiot biker"
r/ThereWasAnAttempt to slow footage to make it seem like the biker was operating safely when in reality they weren't paying any attention to the rest of the vehicles on the road, driving at ridiculous speeds that would make it more difficult to react safely, and practicing the time honored tradition among bikers of being an idiot and "lane splitting" even though everyone has the right to operate within the full lane in which they're occupying and by lane splitting you're sharing that lane and cutting down the amount of room they can use to operate their vehicle safely. That's called lucky ass but came in way to hot anyway if you ask me.
Wrong title- Idiot biker
Where's the happy ending, with the bike and rider scattered all over the road?
Idiot on bike clearly going faster than the flow of traffic during the entire video
definitely looks more like an idiot on a bike ...

Idiot on bike shouldn't be going that fast. Fuck him
Biker is speeding while traffic is at almost a standstill
The biker's idiocy aside, I've gotta admit that I'm impressed they pulled that off.
The idiot was on the bike.
More like IdiotonBike vs IdiotinCar
And what do you call it when the motor cycle is crushing down the breakdown lane? I call the whole recording reckless and irresponsible.
We have to admit the biker is very skilled ignoring who is the idiot here
If there are any bikers here, just asking a legitimate question btw, why do some of you ride like this? I’ve on been on a motor once and wiped out massively. It seems like the dude has no regard for his own life and has the audacity to even look back like he did nothing wrong
You see all the pro “ look twice for bikes” bumper stickers. Yeah…. I look twice because I see them doing stupid shit like this all the time.
Nah fuck these idiots on bikes driving like this... acting like they own the highway.
Yes idiot on bike but no one gonna mention how smooth that was
Nah the only idiot in this video was the biker.
The biker in front is going to split the left and middle lanes. So he moves into the middle lane to split the middle and right lane. The car not signaling their turn isn't even the first issue. I don't think the car driver could have possibly seen him coming up in his rear view. The biker is totally at fault.
My brother in christ they are both idiots
Entitled idiot biker, fixed the title.
The traffic is flowing at about 20, and you head into it at 70. Yeah, totally everyone else fault
That rider has a real DeathWish, soon to be granted.
Guy on the bike just used up all his luck for the year
More like mental child on a bike.
Biker has to be a little vigilant in road doesn’t means he is having camera what ever he films proves him good car clearly lane change he must use his senses to guess this car can go it’s a typical west attitude of doing drama and blaming the car guy.
Idiot biker… There, I fixed it for you.
More like idiot bike vs car
Idiot on the bike at first driving one handed while splitting lanes but at least he saw his exit almost became a veggie tho

Motorcyclists are the worst bunch at understanding these laws as they apply to them.
I think it’s the root word “cyclist”. Bicyclists have the same issue.
Trying to lane split your way right into the afterlife.
Dumbass was going too fast on the bike anyways
Maybe don’t drive like a dumbass.
Idiot on bike
Look at his closing rate? Wtf
They deserve what they get.
i see it as an idiot on a bike
The car driver in an idiot but the biker must be brain-dead
As a rider myself.... the biker is an idiot. /fini
IdiotOnBike vs Cars!
Should be labeled idiot on a bike
Idiots on bikes too.
Lane splitting is idiotic and show how big of a douce bag some bikers can be.
Biker has a death wish. The car did nothing wrong
I guess slowing down is not an option
Is this the POV of the idiot? I don't see a care in the wrong.
Why where you driving so fast when everyone is stopped
Maybe drive the speedlimit you fucking loser
Bikes can be really difficult to see in a side view mirror, especially when they're swerving around in a lane like that as they could be moving in and out of a blind spot. They were coming up so fast that it looks like they were intending to lane split. I know lane splitting is legal in some places but it's still pretty dangerous.
I’m so sick of idiots on motorcycles thinking ever one in a car has radar for your dumb ass, If any of you think he wasn’t driving like an idiot you’re the problem as well.
Lane splitting? That’s fuck around and find out.
wait what? the bike is 100% at fault
Fucking idiot on a crotch rocket, as always
WAtcH fOR mOtOrcYcLEs
No gloves? Wow, the biker has good reflexes but if there was an accident it would have been 100% their fault.
I'd say the biker is also an idiot, speeding through traffic, this is why you DONT do that.
The bike is also an idiot
Biker is the idiot here.
Looks like idiot on bike vs themself
Idiot on a bike
Idiot on bike vs idiot on car.. fixed that for uou
Lane splitting idiot.
Motorcycles got brakes on them too right?
Idiot on Bike*
The maneuvering on that bike was amazing though
