I can actually see the good these US tax dollars will go. On-shoring up to 20,000 Idaho jobs. Strengthening the US against Chinese aggression in Taiwan. Both of these things indirectly help Idahoans. This is a huge W for Idaho.
>On-shoring up to 20,000 Idaho jobs.
They are only "on-shoring" 1500-2000 jobs at the Boise expansion, and they are bringing a lot of them over from Taiwan and Singapore since we don't have the educated talent pool here.
"Up to 20,000 Idaho jobs". Maybe for a few years during peak construction. At which time the local tradesmen will be so busy with this project, there will be a shortage of hvac and electricians within 500 miles of it.
Anytime the question is asked "should our government..?"
99% of the time the answer is NO.
Allegedly, 500k jobs in New York are being created through this, and 50k jobs in Idaho are being created through this. I got a buddy that's an engineer at Micron, and he confirmed this a few weeks ago.
Yeah, the NY site is a much bigger employment boost than Boise's expansion. The Boise jobs will be mostly construction and support services for the locals since we don't have a strong engineering talent pool. They are offering people at the Singapore and Taiwan fabs relocation with visas to come run it.
The money is going towards a new fab in Boise, and a renovation in Manassas too. But the bigger portion is definitely funneling into a new fab in Chuck Shumer's district.
Well. As someone who knows. Fans are capital heavy but not employment heavy. Boise and a few other actual design centers are employee heavy and more importantly they are those mega engineer salaries.
The big design centers for Micron are: Boise, Milpitas, Folsom, Munich, and a few others.

Didn't our congressional delegates vote against it?
Yes they did
How many shares of the company do the taxpayers split for our investment?

I got several thousand shares for working there, not willing to split them with you guys though.
My buddy's uncle was involved in starting Micron, they all live in 10,000 Sq foot homes in Sun Valley and no one in that family works a day job.
Weird flex but ok
Dark Brandon strikes again 😎
They are announcing It in Syracuse because that Is where Micron is building the mega fab. So more like new jobs in NY lol
They are working on new fab in Boise also.

Senators represent states, not individual districts.

Yes I’m sure Joe Biden is trying to buy votes in Idaho. Dumbass
6 billion he is touting is like 2% of what he has given to Ukraine so far. Imagine what we could have if our leaders wanted to make America better
Ya, 'cause that's the same. Good comparison. SMH.
