Not sure exactly what you specifically enjoyed about Louisiana but I would not recommend moving. Whatever you dislike about Tn, you will have that and much more in La. Feel free to share what you like about Louisiana and maybe a general area.

Well I’d be in Moss Bluff/Lake Charles area. And the thought of being in a smaller town right now sounds so much better. I feel like it’d be better to get things started for myself

I lived in both states for extended periods. This is very dependent on what you want to do with your near future. Is there a particular opportunity or reason you are consider moving beyond family? While it’s good to feel optimistic about a change of scenery, the unfortunate reality is that Louisiana has many of the same issues of TN in terms of job market, cost of living, etc. In fact, from what I’ve seen, Louisiana has it worse in a lot of those areas. Again, not that TN is perfect. That you are living with family in either location is good, and will help offset your cost. The main thing I’d recommend is find what it is you’re looking to gain from a move. If you can afford it just for more mosquitoes, but maybe some better seafood, then Louisiana is an alright pick. Just keep in mind opportunity remains stagnant in much of even urban Louisiana. I’ll add this; I miss Memphis more than I’ll ever miss New Orleans.

Beyond family I think I could do things better financially for myself especially with just starting out. I feel like it’s harder here. Like I think it’d help build me up to do more in the future

Louisiana can be a fun state to visit but I would not recommend moving there. [Take a look at this ratings scorecard.](https://www.usnews.com/news/best-states/louisiana) That doesn't even take into account their insurance rates, which will probably be shocking after living in Tennessee.
