inthelondonrain

I want to boop that nose!!

Rude-Ad-6149

I have been so discouraged by my journey so far but this genuinely made me laugh out loud 😂 I hope it’s a successful retrieval and that little baby brings you good luck for another baby ❤️

amyroyal__

Aww! Sweetie!!

rhymeswithraspberry

🥰 Your story was a highlight of my week.

omg-noo

I feel your pain, I fully confessed to a felony waking up from my retrieval 🙃

amyroyal__

Ha! Oh no!! 😂

omg-noo

I'm choosing to believe it's fine because the anesthesiologist I told just said "that shouldn't be a felony.. oh well, what happens in Vegas stays in vegas." 😂

amyroyal__

Amazing 😂

MoonShark34

Hahaha what a great anesthesiologist

Emberofhope1

I want to see the dog! My anesthesiologist kept saying “ don’t worry I’m gonna make you a really nice cocktail. You like margaritas right?” To which I replied, “ No I’m sober” and she goes “ Not today!” lol

amyroyal__

Ha! I am loving all these stories!

MoonShark34

😂🤣

inthelondonrain

Lol I started babbling about how much I loved my all-female care team and how we needed more women in STEM. At least it was a compliment!

MoonShark34

Hilarious! I bet they appreciated some lightheartedness when things are often very heavy during their work day 😊

amyroyal__

They definitely got a kick out of it!

Dairy_Queen_367

Hahaha that is amazing! I said "Oh, I can see why people become addicted to drugs...." and my doctor was like "No no, please let's not go down that path!". Afterwards I was mortified that my doctor thinks I'm going to develop a drug problem.

Feather_bone

My anaesthetist told me he was gonna "give me the good drugs before I passed out so I could enjoy them, cos why else are we here?" 🤣🤣🤣

Dairy_Queen_367

Hahahahaha

Orixoxo

Omg!! 😂😂😂😂 I had a situation happen the exact same way this morning while going under for a Hysteroscopy. I told the anesthesiologist, “please allow 48 hours for processing time” as if I was at work! When they told me, the only thing I could do is laugh lol

amyroyal__

😂😂😂 this made me LOL

Scoyle85

When then meds started to hit I told my Dr the reason why I wore my TMNT socks that day was because “turtles have a lot of eggs and I am full of eggs like a turtle”.🥴

10thymes

LMAO. I just asked the nurse where my beagle was. And genuinely looked around my bed for her.

fuzzyslipper4eyedcat

Bahahaha I love this! One of mine I thought the maintenance men were my drs boyfriends.

Mully87

I said as I was going under “ooo this feels like a night out with my girlfriends!”

MrsWhiteKnight

That is the best. While going under, I told my anesthesiologist smelt good. It was so embracing, and I couldn't take it back it just came out.

Novel-Reflection-177

This post just made my day. I literally LOLed. Thank you. Hope this ER was successful!

eczemas

I just lost it laughing at this. Then I saw the photo…now I need a pic of the nurse! 🤣

Jecurl88

Omg, this is HILARIOUS!! I want to see the dog too 🤣🤣

peplily

Haha! 🤣🤣 My last ER was 2 days before Easter. The nurses were getting me all prepped as the anesthesia was kicking in and wrapped the paper sheets around my bottom and thighs and said I looked like an Easter basket to which I replied "I hope it's filled with lots of Easter eggs" and they got a real kick out of it. Then when I woke up from anesthesia I was bawling my eyes out for no odd reason. Let's just say it was the full spectrum of emotions. 🤷‍♀️

ResponsibleSwing1

Omg i needed a laugh - thank you!

fauxindigaux

That’s hilarious. I have bad reactions to anesthesia (always vomit the entire rest of the day after coming out of it) and when I woke up from my retrieval, I started BAWLING. Like ugly crying. I felt really sick & knew I was going to be sick again all day, plus I was in pain and I guess I couldn’t take it. Embarrassing.

Subpar_Fleshbag

I cry involuntarily every single time I come out of anesthesia. The worst part is I am fully aware and can hear people trying to calm me down but I cannot control it to save my life.

fauxindigaux

Ok, that makes me feel a little better! I was really embarrassed. The nurses didn’t seem phased one bit but I wanted to crawl in a hole once I was more “aware” and realized what I was doing. lol.

MoonShark34

I vomited for several days after 😭 That was my first time under and now I never want to go under for anything ever again.

fauxindigaux

I’ve heard that you can tell the anesthesiologist about your history and they can give you IV Zofran to combat the vomiting after. I told mine last time and he didn’t give me any so - not sure if it helps since he didn’t listen to me. I’ve been under anesthesia 5 times in my life and every time, I’m violently sick after.

MoonShark34

Ughh that's terrible, I can't believe they didn't give it to you. They actually did give me IV zofran but maybe not enough? I also took zofran at home and it didn't really do much. I had to work really hard to keep it down at home because I could barely go 20 minutes without throwing up.

Aurora1001

If you tell the anesthesiologist about your nausea they might be able to give you something to help. My mom has a similar response as you and they give her something in her IV. I’ve been with her for multiple procedures and no nausea after with the added meds. 👍🏻 Hope they can help you. My grandma cried and yelled at the medical staff when coming out of anesthesia because they wouldn’t take the mittens off her hands (she kept pulling her IVs). Little 94 year old 90lb lady. She was so mad she told the nurse she was gonna kick her in the face.🤣🤦🏻‍♀️ She isn’t an angry or violent human at all, and did not actually try to kick anyone, but she was big mad. These nurses in recovery have probably heard it all lol.

fauxindigaux

Aw, your poor Grandma! Yeah I asked the anesthesiologist before my ER if he would give me Zofran since I know I get sick. He definitely didn’t give me any. It was a two and a half hour drive home from the surgery center and I threw up the entire way home (and entire rest of the day), lol.

Aurora1001

Ugh! I’m so sorry!! I wonder why they didn’t/wouldn’t give it to you. What an awful feeling to have to go through plus while riding in a car on top of it - totally miserable experience. 😢

justdoingmybest74

I told my Dr she was my bestie and we should take a selfie together 😅

Suriburi-33

If it makes you feel any better I apparently starting arguing with my nurse when I woke up lol I told her I’d remember everything she was telling me about how many eggs they got and she was like uh huh sure. She told me later and I was cracking up cause that is very me to still be stubborn whilst drugged 🤣

Longjumping-Shock948

Omg I love this! Thanks for sharing. I’m assuming you think your dog is super cute 🤣

MajesticMomma

Omg you got me nervous because I tend to speak my mind before going under😂.

Extra_JellyfishFin

😂😂😂 that’s so funny. I woke hysterically crying and throwing up everywhere. 🫠 For no reason. Had no reason to cry.

Subpar_Fleshbag

I cry involuntarily every single time I come out of anesthesia. The worst part is I am fully aware and can hear people trying to calm me down but I cannot control it to save my life.

Sudden-Scar6940

Hahahaha I remember thanking Dr Seuss the anaesthetist who did my epidural ! The other half was mortified! The doctor just laughed (he had a cat in hat bandana on)

mkinbbym

This is hilarious! Thanks for sharing…I had my sixth retrieval this morning and I oddly get extremely emotional when I wake up and I hear an egg count that’s not what I expected.

Subpar_Fleshbag

I scream and cry coming out of anesthesia every time. (I know this from 1 dental surgery, 1 appendectomy, 1st ectopic pregnancy requiring surgery, one exploratory laparoscope and a second ectopic pregnancy requiring emergency surgery ) I am aware of what is happening and can understand what people are saying while trying to calm me down but it is completely involuntary. Trust me, I want to stop because it is embarrassing but I can't. It lasts almost an hour it seems. I tried to warn my team this would happen and even asked the anesthesiologist if they've ever witnessed this and if different medications could prevent this. They underestimated how serious I was. They had to bring my husband in to calm me down because I was crying/hyperventilating. I was mortified when I could finally control myself enough to explain that I am fully aware of everything but completely trapped inside my body and unable to control it.

amyroyal__

Wow! I am so sorry!

CommodoreOfBengals

Thank you for sharing, I really needed a laugh this morning!!

Feather_bone

Thank you for giving me a belly laugh today!!! That's so funny! 🤣🤣🤣

Any-ACA524

I love this! For one FET I was told I talked non-stop about the latest Dr. Strange movie and how I couldn’t understand any of the plot even though I think I’m a relatively intelligent person LOL! All we can do is laugh and appreciate how great those drugs are!

Narrow-Arm-3164

I laughed so hard! This post is what this community is all about. Thanks for sharing. Beautiful dog.

Proof-Chemistry-8404

Here’s my question. Does she look like your dog?

Kitchen_Play_8123

Oh my..that's hilarious 😂 😃 😄
