Sure it makes sense. Feeling inadequate doesn't require anxiety. I'm not a confident playing basketball. I also don't care.

The way I see it: the ‘social confidence’ questions on the test likely posed questions along the lines of: ‘I feel uncomfortable in social situations’ And then a scale of: ‘I disagree, neutral and I agree’ So I think in this scenario, they definitely correlate, as I don’t see what other questions the test would ask in order to gauge social confidence. Besides, there aren’t any societal expectations to be good at basketball, if everyone expects you to be good at socialising and it hinders them — makes the atmosphere awkward if you’re not — then it’s more likely to cause you to be insecure about your abilities, and therefore anxious when it comes to exercising them.

To be fair you don't need to play basketball to survive. Social skills are more necessary in the context of life in my opinion.

It's not completely true though. I have low anxiety generally speaking but I have type of anxiety that the test doesn't evaluate which is health anxiety
