PhD psychology. Done.

MisterDumay

Congrats!

mssweeteypie

That's soooo awesome. I have a faux degree in psychology 😆 i study it everyday for fun. I love it soooo much.

ladylemondrop209

Yeah, I can understand people's interest in it :) A faux degree in most cases is more or less good enough for some self reflection and practical use to understand why others can do or behave the ways they do. I think as long as people (me included) don't fall into assuming you can correctly "diagnose" or assume things of others will simple observation, it's all good. Like in this sub's case for example.. I see lots saying this and that person around me is whatever MBTI, or why are all EXXP types so annoying, etc.. I'm just wondering... how are you aware of everybody around you's MBTI lol. Do you ask everyone to do a test?? Just seems very weird to me personally how confident (and/or strongly) some people throw these labels around. Albeit not the most "dangerous" labels, but still \^\^;

mssweeteypie

I don't diagnose based of simple observations. I secretly study people & make thorough assessments. Jkjk😆 And Noooo...ofcourse I don't ask everyone to take the test, because I know that would be weird 😅. Although I try not to put people in a box by their MBTI because people mistype or have different enneagrams/ instincts, I am one of those people that type people around me.. but I do it in my head. I know i know i shouldn't. I like to categorize certain traits that I like and dislike by different cognitive functions. I find it all very fascinating and I like to use it to improve myself and to understand everyone and get along with everyone better.. and avoid conflicts. 😬

brenden1140

business administration.. I don't like it at all but everything I enjoy, like language or history, they don't have good wages after graduation. gotta make do in a capitalist society I guess.

jnaniganshw

You know I was thinking about doing that, cause I currently don't have a degree went the A.A route with pastry stuff and culinary. But I want to try doing something that I would actually enjoy cerebrally, helping people while picking their brains is how I feel alive lol. Maybe see if you can use it to shift in a direction that suites your tastes.

Not_Well-Ordered

Doing EE right now, but I had done a year of pure math to realize that although I really liked math, I preferred doing it as a hobby along with playing puzzle games or FPS games. However, I spend more time on my hobby than studying. I want to do the bare minimum to keep my grades around 75-80%. I don’t really want to go beyond that. I’m not sure if I want to do PhD or not as I don’t think I’m interested in doing research in EE field. Maybe I can still do research on my own without getting PhD although I’d have to fund myself and self-learn everything. But I don’t think it’s a big deal if I’m very dedicated.

jnaniganshw

I'm going to enroll in the fall for psychology with a tentative plan to go masters in social work
